The body is in very good shape with the exception of a dent on the front fender by the headlight. Paint only has typical use flaws, no major scratches or fade. Some clear peel on the hood, very hard to see. Its a small spot towards the pass headlight. The interior is also in good shape, with some cracking on the drivers seat bottom being the only real flaw. These cars are an absolute dream to drive, I've had several XJ8s and the road manners are fantastic, a very quiet smooth ride with plenty of power when you put your foot down. The car DOES NEED WORK. It will need the dent on the front fender repaired (if you would like) It MAY also need a battery, this one may come back with use. The main problem with the car, and why its being sold so cheap is that it has gearbox flaw code. It does drive and will move on its own but this should be addressed to use everyday. It feels like it is starting in 2nd not first gear. It does not have the pickup from 0 that it should. It could be a very simple fix, like a sensor, but how you see it is exactly how we got it. The car drives fine when the code is cleared, but the code will return and with it, the problem. We have not done any work to it or even washed it. It is being sold for a wholesaler, in wholesale condition. Understand that it will need work. It should not be driven long distances until its looked over. Greetings! Up for your consideration is an awesome Z28 convertible for sale. It is in very good shape for being 21 yrs old. Lots of mods and love on this car. Paint is in good shape, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. I can't tell if the car has been repainted but bumpers and a few spots definitely. The vinyl graphics are faded but still give it character. No signs of any collision anywhere I look other than some stress signs on rear bumper, as if from parking bumps. No signs of rust either, other than a couple of 1/4" holes thru the passenger side floor board it is solid. The top is in very good shape except for the rear plastic window- opaque with a small crack and seal around it is coming apart but does not leak. The power top operates smooth as it should. Power windows are a bit lazy but work. 18" tires are like new, installed by the previous owner mid 2014. Chrome rims are nice but starting to peel. Aftermarket ram air hood is in great shape but not functional. The LT1 engine has an aftermarket camshaft and the heads have been ported, emissions have been removed but available if you want to put them back. The exhaust is pacesetter headers to full magnaflow exhaust, no cat. The 4spd auto transmission was rebuilt in 2013 and works fine, fluid is clean, does have an aftermarket pan. The rear shocks are QA1 adjustables. Brake rotors are drilled and slotted. The interior has been tastefully redone with matching door panels and blue trim. The previous owner bought the car in 2006, doesnt have any knowledge of the specifics of the mods done to the car. He's an older gent and just wanted a cool convertible to pimp around in. He added aprox 8K in the 9 yrs he owned it. I took the car as payment for another job a few weeks ago, it's still titled in his name. I installed a new Battery, O2 sensors, filters, wipers, oil, optispark, wireset, water pump, thermostat, hoses, valve cover gaskets, valve seals, and intake manifold gaskets- all new not remanufactured. Car does not leak any oil or coolant. Starts up every time, has good heat and a/c. Sounds really good and overpowers the undersized tires no prob. It drives and handles well, no rattles or squeaks. It has an alarm system and comes with 2 sets of keys and remotes. If you're in the Holbrook NY area, swing on by my shop and take a look.
