This 1999 SL500 Red Roadster was purchased new by an older couple for use during the winter at their Florida home. It was kept in their garage in Florida for 9 months each year and used sparingly for the other 3 months. It has never been driven in any bad weather or salted roads since new. The original cost was about $100,000. It currently has only 48,000 miles but it is in such perfect condition it looks like it could have much less. It is super clean in every regard. Completely original red paint. Never dinged or dented or repaired. The light beige interior is perfect. Floor mats have been used since it was new and the light beige carpet looks like it has never been stepped on. Everything works perfectly. It still has the original black soft top that is in excellent condition and comes with the factory removable hard top. The hardtop comes with the rolling stand and the factory cover when it is installed on the stand. Also included is the factory first aid kit and the original owners manuals and books. About 2 years ago 4 brand new Michelin radials were installed. They have been driven only about 3000 miles. It would be very hard to find one of these in comparable condition. The pictures tell it all. It is currently stored in a heated garage in NW New Jersey. Inspections are welcome. Selling my what looks to be, all original, pre-war 1941 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck in great running and physical condition in order to make space for a vehicle for my kids. I found this truck in a covered barn in Fulton, NY this past Winter where it had been sitting for almost 20 years after the owner had died. The son was selling the truck as he was finally ready to part with it. It had spent many years before the deceased owner had it on a farm in upstate New York. When I paid my first visit to see the truck, it was getting new brakes all the way around and a new fuel pump. The ignition keys were no where to be found so it is outfitted with a quickly engineered on/off switch. Once I made the deal to buy the truck, it was driven right out of that garage, taken a mile or so up the road to test all the workings and driven onto my trailer. I changed the oil, added some gas and fuel stabilizer and every other weekend I squirt a little starting fluid in the carburetor and off I go around the block for 15-20 minutes in my neighborhood to watch the people look at this beauty. It's fully registered historic (QQ) in NJ and has a clean title, registration, owners manual and shop manual with it. I've never had the truck more than a mile from home but she starts right up (6 volt battery), the clutch, brakes, emergency lever brake, all 3 forward gears and reverse work just fine. All lights and turn signals work as does the windshield wipers and heater also. The dashboard gauges all seems to work as they should. It has just over 45,000 miles and the 216.5cc engine is clean. Radiator has no leaks and there are no oil leaks or leaks of any type. The wooden bed is solid and has a wood box in the bed with a Chevrolet emblem. Tires, rims and hubcaps all excellent. From underneath, everything looks clean and solid. The body and bed are very solid and the paint has some light scratching and fading however, I like the fact that it looks like an original farm truck and not all spruced up. Vin DBM76485. Just a few things to point out is there is a bit of surface rust where the windshield wiper motors are on the inside cab on the front of the roof, a small amount at the bottom of each door (exterior) the brake pedal may need a little spring since when left unattended, it will drop a bit and activate the brake lights and kill the battery. Because of this, I keep it in the up position all the way with a cord when its parked in the garage. It's garaged all the time. I'm an old truck want to be...I love them but not savvy in the upkeep or technical aspects so it's time that I turn this over to someone that can thoroughly enjoy and knows what they are doing/has the time to really enjoy. Given the age, I hope you understand that you are buying as is, where is. I can hold for 30 days after the auction however, would like full cash payment at the time of pick-up.
