Here is a Rare Rust Free Classic 1986 Toyota Tercel 4 Wheel Drive Automatic transmission. Everything works, heat, wipers, windshield washers, all lights, turning signals, horn and radio. Engine runs great with no smoke or leaks. Transmission shifts perfect with no slips or drips. Brakes do not pull. The Tercel runs straight with out pulling to left or right. Tires are Ok, could be better but not dangerous. Car shows fading and looks to be original. Interior excellent for a 30 year old car. This is a classic that will only increase in value in the years to come. Below is a magizines top pick for classic 80s 4WD vehicles and it's input on a Tercel, Believe it or not, Toyota’s four-wheel-drive Tercel wagon is quite the off-road fiend. It may only have an anemic four-cylinder engine, but the Tercel sports a sold rear axle, a direct mechanical coupling to the transfer case (no center differential), and an extra-low crawl gear. In fact, there’s a large community that jacks up their Tercels, fits big wheels underneath, and goes wheeling – successfully too. Anyone looking for a great car that some call the most bullet proof car ever build, you don't want to miss this car. Car is located in Moody Alabama 35004 and buyer to pickup at this location. Up for sale is this yellow 1969 Datsun 2000 Fairlady Roadster with the 5 speed transmission and 2.0 liter motor. The VIN number is SRL311-08217. The car has 46,388 miles on the clock and the car starts without an issue. INTRO The car has been repainted yellow single-stage to allow for ease of touching up chips, etc. The car was intended to be used as a driver so the inevitability of chips was always there. The car hasn’t got any chips on the paint and the paint shows no signs of fading or wear. The car is garage-kept and it is kept under a cover while it is indoors as well for dust, etc. The car hasn’t been driven much since the “restomod” was completed. I finished it about a year ago or so and I’ve been performing little things to it as I had time – those small improvement included fuel lines, etc. Just haven’t had the time to drive it and my free time isn’t there anymore so I’m deciding someone else needs to get the pleasure from driving this sports car! INTERIOR The floorboards of the car didn’t have much rust beside surface rust; however there was a small section near the pedals that had rusted through and that was successfully repaired. The interior has been redone with new carpeting and the vinyl rear deck and rear upright panel as well as the quarter panel vinyl covers are all newly covered. The door cards are what I got the car with and they have been cleaned, but they are not the original Datsun panels. The floor mats are Datsun floor mats and the seats are also by no means original. Most of you are aware, but for the unaware individual, the seats are from a Mazda Miata. The seat belts are the 3-point harness variety, not just the lap belt. I added the option for the three point harness to make the car safer. This car accommodated both options, so no modifications were made to add the 3 point option. The dash is the original dash I got with the car and the top of the dash has been recovered by the PO, you can see the recovering in the photos I will post to the listing. The floordboards were sound-dampened with a dynamat-type soundproofing. The material used was zilla-mat (not Dynamat brand). The interior fan, heater, defroster all work like they’re supposed to. The radio works fine, but I haven’t fitted any speakers in any particular place yet because I was still planning on deciding what size I wanted to use and that would dictate possible location I could install them. The window seals and door seals are brand new. OPTIONS The car will include a roll bar that can be installed at the buyers option or simply just included for installation at a later time should the buyer choose to do so. The rear deck doesn’t have holes to accommodate the roll bar at this time, so it isn’t an eyesore if the roll bar isn’t in there – it’s a clean interior at this time. I will also include the tonneau cover I received when I purchased the car. There are a couple of small holes (no larger than nickel sizes) and one or two previous patched areas, but the cover is still a worthy piece to use when the small holes are patched. I’ll try include a picture of the cover. BODY The bodywork performed didn’t warrant a tremendous amount of rust repair however there was some attention needed at the jack holes and a small spot of the top of the cowl vent. The fenders were removed to POR the interior of the fenders for rust prevention. The wheel wells are painted the same color as the car and you should be able to see that in the pictures. The interior of the trunk is painted the same color as the car and the floor of the trunk is POR’ed for rust. There was a small crack by the one gas tank bracket that needed welding to prevent the tank strap from pulling through the trunk floor. The trunk latch has an emergency lockout release cable retrofitted to the underside of the trunk in the case you should lock your keys in the trunk and need to re-open it. CHASSIS The chassis was completely POR’ed and coated black gloss to help maintain a black finish that won’t turn grey from UV exposure (yea I doubt the UV will get to it but anyways!). The body pads were replaced with pads that won’t hold moisture to avoid the floorboard suffering rust due to trapped moisture. The horsehair was removed and replaced with a poly-lam type foam. The shock absorbers are in great condition and the ball joints and zerk fittings are greased. The leaf springs have been spaced about ¾” to help lower the read end a small bit to add a sense of level-ness to the car. Previously it had a stance where the nose sat much lower than the rear. The exhaust is wrapped in flame retardant wrap to reduce the heat on the floor pan by the driver’s feet and gas tank. The brake calipers were rebuilt with brand new seals and the hoses were all replaced. The master cylinders were rebuilt and work well. ENGINE The engine bay is painted with the car while the body was off the chassis so the colors match appropriately. The engine bay is clean still and doesn’t have grease and oil all over. The engine is painted the factory color. The VIN plate is still the original VIN plate and is faded, but replicas can be purchased easily. I simply prefer the original one to a replica so I never bothered to replace it. The engine has a brand new clutch kit installed and the timing components are replaced. The timing chains installed are brand new, but the gears are excellent condition used gears. The front timing cover has new seals installed and the engine has had the cylinder head reworked. The seats were replaced with updated seats because the old brass seats don’t fare so well with the modern ethanol fuel and don’t last long. The head was shaved 0.004” so the compression remains the same and no oversize gaskets, etc. are used. The head has a three-angle valve job and new valve stem seals. I have a brand new valve cover gasket that needs to be installed to cure a small seep around the valve cover. I can install it upon request, but it will be included in the listing. The fan is the 4 blade fan to reduce noise of the engine, but the 7 blade fan is included for the buyer should he/she choose to use/sell it. The car is fitted with BMW E30 horns that have significantly louder tone and improved tone to get attention when it’s needed. I have the original horn(s) that I’ll include but I don’t think they work (one might but I don’t know for sure). The fuel lines are completely replaced with steel lines to eliminate any rust issues from ruining the fuel system. Rebuilt fuel pump with brand new seals and valves. I upgraded the starter to a high-torque gear reduction starter to speed up startup. CARBS The carburetors are Z-Therapy rebuilt carbs and make the car run like a champ! The car starts without any issues! The engine originally had an erratic tune that I couldn’t track down until I replaced the carbs with Z-Therapy carbs that include their custom needles for optimum performance with nowadays fuel quality. THE BAD The car still has one small little fuel line connector that leaks slightly near the oil filter (it’s the connection that runs up from under the car up toward the hood latch). The right rear brake cylinder leaks slowly and the clutch slave has a small seep from the bolt that needs to be checked. It’s been rebuilt, but I think it has a crush washer that needs replacing. The transmission has a second gear synchro that I think is going out, but the replacement is included. The rear bumper has bad chrome, the chrome is peeling and the front bumper chrome is pretty good except for each of the very edges that have some rust about the size of two quarters. The front isn’t noticeable necessarily, but the rear bumper is noticeable. The chroming on the rear tail lights shows a bit of pitting, but the chrome is still reflective (see pics). The seal on the right A-pillar is torn and the left window channel is missing (the channel below the window seal is still there just needs the portion above the window seal). I think that’s about all I can think of to explain to you. Sorry if it’s a bit longwinded, but I figured rather too much than too little information.
