2008 Saab 93 Turbo XFor sale in New York6-Speed Manual Transmission • Only 62,000 miles! OVERVIEW Greetings! This website will introduce you to my 2008 Saab 93 Turbo X. In case you're unaware, these cars are quite rare... and very powerful. There were only 600 total cars sold in the US, and only for model year 2008. Most are equipped with automatic transmissions, but this one is the sought-after 6-speed manual. As you can see, my car is a sedan version rather than a wagon. My Turbo X was acquired by me in May of 2011 as a Saab Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. I am the second owner and I was told the previous owner returned it after their lease was through. At the time of purchase, the odometer read 35,226 miles. As of August 7, 2014, the odometer reads 61,534 miles. I do not drive this car daily, so it will not likely go up very much between now and when the car is sold. I will go into more detail and provide many more photos below. EXTERIOR CONDITION This car is in fantastic condition. The original wheels are in excellent condition with no bending and no curb rash. Tires were recently (within 3,000 miles) replaced with Goodyear Eagle RS-As. They don't show any wear that I can detect. They're practically brand new. The black paint is in very good condition all around. The car has been garaged the entire time I've owned the car. There are no issues with clear coat peeling or any major blemishes. Overall, this car looks great! All badges are present and in very good condition. There is no paint peeling on the hood and trunk lid Saab roundels. They're in picture-perfect condition. There is one very small ding on the rear driver side fender near the trunk lid. It's impossible to photograph and is very minor. It was present when I purchased the car, so I can't tell you the story behind it. It's only noticeable if you're looking for it. This is the only negative on the extrior of the car that I can think of. It's a stunner! INTERIOR CONDITION The interior of this Turbo X is immaculate. You can literally eat off the floor, if you so desire. I have made two changes to the interior that I think make this car something special. The first change was the stereo. I replaced the stock unit with a JVC KW-NT50HDT. This is a satellite navigation (GPS) deck with a big touchscreen, DVD, MP3, XM, Bluetooth, and iPod/iPhone capabilities. This is the stereo Saab should have included in a car of this caliber. The JVC looks tasteful and pretty stock to me, and I've programmed it to match the green dash lighting of the Turbo X. The steering wheel controls for track forward & reverse and volume up & down work! The only steering wheel buttons that don't work with this unit are the call answer buttons. However, they didn't function with the stock stereo... so, no big loss there. OnStar is disabled, by the way. The stereo makes proper use of the Bose audio system in this car, and sounds fantastic. You can listen to HD Radio (free), put a disc in, install up to a 32GB SD card with MP3s on it, use your phone for Bluetooth audio, plug into the front AUX jack, hook up your iPod/iPhone to the front USB input, or subscribe to XM Satellite Radio. So many options to keep you entertained while barreling down the highway or carving the curves in your Turbo X! Of course, the stereo pairs to your Bluetooth enabled phone for hands-free calling. It will even display your phone's battery level, signal level, and import your contacts for distraction-free driving. This stereo also receives free traffic data through its HD Radio FM receiver. It will use this information to alert you to traffic when navigating and offer alternate routes. Like I said... this is the radio Saab should have included with this vehicle! The other modification to the interior I made was replacement of the stock shift knob. The stock knob is held on only by friction and has a nasty habit of popping off in hot weather. Rather than glue it on in a permanent fashion, I elected to replace it with this leather Momo knob. It feels a lot better in the hand and it's held in-place by a set screw. It has never come off and looks great! The only downside is there is no shift pattern printed on it and the reverse lockout has to be pulled down after use rather than snapping back into place. For me, this is not a big deal, but may be if you plan to valet this car a lot. I still have the stock knob and it will be included with the sale of the car. Have a look at these other interior photos: MECHANICAL CONDITION This Turbo X has been relatively problem-free, but as any Saab owner will tell you, there are things that have come up in the past 30,000 miles. The rear end was binding a little bit last year, but was fixed by Kelly Saab in PA under GM's original power train warranty. I've put 5,000 miles on the car since and the issue hasn't come back. The only other time it needed service was by Reinertsen Saab in NJ for the front driver window regulator and cleaning of the ignition switch under warranty. These things were very minor and have been working fine for years now. I have service records for these two dealers that will be provided to the new owner. The engine bay is clean, tidy, and free of any leaks. I replaced the original battery with a Die Hard AGM battery last year, so there are no worries there. I had the oil changed every 5,000 miles exclusively with Mobil 1 0W-40 European blend synthetic oil. THAT'S ODD Currently, there is a ticking noise from the front left wheel when turning the steering wheel at low speed. My mechanic says it's nothing that needs addressing at this time. It's normal wear and tear, but you should keep this in mind. There may be work needed on the front axle within the next year or so. The car came with two keys. I have both and they both work. However, the buttons on one are very worn looking. It functions fine, and it's the key I use most often. This is how it was when I bought the car. The other key looks almost new. I rarely use it. LOCATION & PAYMENT The Turbo X is located in Southfields, NY. If you would like to see it in-person during the week, I can make it available in Stony Point, NY during regular business hours. I am willing to drive the car almost anywhere if the buyer isn't local. Of course, you would be responsible for my travel expenses and plane ticket back to NY if necessary. Asking price is $15,995 which I think is very fair for a Turbo X in this condition with such low mileage. Payment will be expected in the form of a bank check, certified check, or cash if you prefer. I am not a used car dealer. I can't issue you a temporary tag and I will not let you drive this car away with my plates on my insurance. You should come prepared with properly registered plates, or I can drive you to the nearest NY DMV and drop you off for a couple hours to get temporary tags from them. If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks for looking!
