For a 28yr old vehicle it is average shape. Frame is rot free and not covered in rust, yes inevitably it may need some paint and undercoating and even a minor repair, but it is 28 years old, and certainly viable and not rotten. As with any land rover rust areas, such as the door bottoms and bulkhead is inevitable. Having said that, the doors are viable for repair, and certainly are not throw away unlike half the doors we see on trucks like these. The bulkhead, will need extensive repair. I will gladly help in the process of sourcing and or fixing the doors via the company i run, or even repair or replacing the bulkhead. Defenders of this vintage all have bulkhead issues, as they tend to last about 5-10 years before rust sets in and starts eating away at the metal. So be weary of “totally original cars” with perfect bulkheads, simply said they do not EXIST!!! Nonetheless, paint and flawless exteriors are not what it's about with this kind of vehicle, as you would buy it for its legendary status and capabilities. I have driven it all over the place and would gladly ship it for you by driving it to you!!! (some compensation is to be expected for time, fuel, etc... etc...) In short, a very good truck perfect for a build-up or driving it just as it is! Remember, this vehicle is now 28yrs old and as such has the normal expected wear for it's age due to its originality. All parts that needed to be changed during the restoration were replaced with new ones from screws to rubbers. The nose has been modernized with a heavy duty bumper, Puma grill and headlight finishers, with a Puma bonnet. It received a new Safari snorkel, light bar with 4 spots and the side step bars have been removed. InteriorThe interior has been upgraded with new Exmoor Trim Diamond Style XS leather seats, rubber and carpet matting. The load space has been upgraded with custom made brand new galvanized wheel arches, reinforced wood ply and aluminum strips. Engine The engine underwent a complete reconditioning and refresh. This Defender is in original condition and is a very desirable and rare SUV as many of you know. Only 500 were allowed in and this one is #82. The pedigree doesn't get any better. One owner and it was in Florida, clean and clear title. The body is in good shape except for a dent on the rear right quarter panel as you can see in the pictures. The frame and rear cross member look great as well with no rust issues. There is a small hole on the front passenger floor board but that is it aside from some surface rust here and there. The Defender 110 runs and drives, but it has been sitting for a while and it needs a restoration mechanically and cosmetically. It has a state of Nebraska assigned VIN number. Naturally, eBay doesn't recognize that number. It's 141439914143078NE . This truck was not made by Land Rover. It was put together in a shop. It has no Land Rover serial number. Many of the parts were likely made by Land Rover. The vehicle has completed the state of Nebraska inspection process and was assigned a VIN number in May. It has a clear Nebraska title that is transferable to all fifty states. The truck is very similar to a ROW Land Rover Defender 110 built between 1987 and 1997. The color is Balmoral Green with a white roof. It is powered by a Land Rover 200Tdi* engine. The Transmission is an LT77. All four wheel positions have disc brakes. The frame is galvanized. The wire loom is external to the frame. The interior is Coniston Green. We lined the floors with a black hard epoxy sealant. The seats are cloth. The door cards and trim pieces are black. Two front bucket seats with a cubby and a three place bench in the back. The cloth in the front and the back do not match. We installed a new iPod ready AM/FM cd player with two front speakers. It has a NAS SW style Sunroof. The Good:--The engine runs exceedingly well. I have driven it fairly extensively. It gets 30mpg on the highway and 21mpg around town. It will make 75 mph on the interstate. The comfortable speed (for almost any Defender, including this one) is 60 mph.--The tires are about 90%. --It has new coco mats from front to rear. --I have owned and driven many real Defenders. This one goes down the road as well as any of them. --For the most part the body is in good condition with very little corrosion.--This is not a Land Rover. It does not have a Land Rover VIN. Please understand this before you make an offer or click the buy it now. The Not so Good:--We did not install a headliner. The grab handles above the rear passenger doors are missing. I am sure that there will be unknown plastic trim pieces missing throughout the vehicle.--The truck does not have Air Conditioning. (This note is for the non-Land Rover people who are sure to call and ask.) --We did not install insulated front mats in the front over the tunnel. The floor can get a little warm. In January, this is OK. In July, in Nebraska. . . let's just say that you should tell your significant other to wear real shoes and not flip flops prior to a 100 mile trip in 100 degree weather.--There IS rust in the doors along the steel frames causing the paint to bubble on the aluminum skins. There is rust on the steel frame on the hood. Some of this is hard to photograph. When you ask for additional photos, I have some that will show the issue. It is a REPAIRABLE issue. You will not need to replace the doors. --*Although the title can be transferred to anyone of the other 49 states, sadly, the engine can not. The truck started its life as a 1984 D90 with final fittings to order by the Special Vehicles Division in Solihull but the exact original build and preparations not disclosed re its history. It is evident, however, the truck was not used in any harsh environment. The 300tdi based drivetrain is coveted as the best power plant for these trucks and partnered with the preferred r380 Gearbox it feels simply unstoppable. With only a touch of the ignition this D90 starts and runs flawlessly and runs out smoothly at highway speeds at 80-90mph in a stride. 1986 Land Rover Defender 90 2.5L i4 Diesel Motor. White w/pale blue kicker stripes, charcoal interior new canvas top looks to be very original cast with modifications only in the seating, wheels and tires. Seating very nice and safe for kids or adult passengers. Showing 110 killometers originally from Spain so apprx 65--70.000 original miles look closely at all pictures the owner states repainted 10 yrs ago and shows very nice with the exception of a few small character lines light chips etc. I would honestly rate this truck as an excellent driver runs drives very well all options lighting etc work just fine. Brakes, tires, exhaust, etc all ready for a road trip anywhere. There are some stains telling me leaks over 20 yrs but nothing shouts at ya and owner has driven daily with kids for past 3 years. Jjust moved on to a believe this or not Hummer, silly man here. There are some things like the black grilles bumpers and some small trim pieces that are chipping and such from the normal aluminum finish not holding paint well but do not let me be too critical here. Its beautiful from 20 feet away and still very respectable from up close nothing needs to be done to use as a very nice driver. No evidence of hard use or accidents or nonsense hill climbing. The interior is like new original we are not experts but it is very very nice and jump seats have killer safety belts 5 point harness the spare tire and wheel have inside mounting brackets and spare is the matching custom black as the other 4 on the ground. The engine compartment also looks to be dead original with no modifications runs super and everything works well maintained with open check book as previous owner stated. Look at all pictures closely nothing to hide here. This is a nice straight original solid truck. Not a show car but very respectable and mechanically sound. Again we do a lot of nice unusual cars apprx 30,000 sold since 1948. We are now 3rd generation car guys but we are not Rover experts so any input on our pictures descriptions is welcome. We like it, you will love it, and no need for a shipper it drives home no matter where you live.
