Nearly every Corvette ever created has been a highly unique offering that pushed the limits of style and performance. Think about it; this is a marque that followed lightweight fiberglass roadsters with standard V8 power and potent big block street slayers... It followed Lotus-tuned ZR-1s with an exclusive, modern Grand Sport and proper revival of the track-focused Z06... Then it followed supercharged 'blue devils' with a brutal 427 Convertible a third, world-beating Stingray and the insane Z06/Z07! I mean, where else can you find world-class American performance that's loud, proud and ready to lay waste to pretty much any Old World exotic? That purity is exactly why classics like this fully documented, Triple Crown-winning Sting Ray are so collectible. Pairing a professional restoration and numbers-matching, big block drivetrain with top honors from Bloomington, NCRS and Chevy/Vettefest, this coupe is a correct, blue chip showstopper that'll hold its own next to the finest metal on the planet! BODYWORK/TRIM Unlike other sports cars, which shall remain nameless, all Corvettes are NOT red. And that's a very good thing because if they were, we'd be missing out on sublime colors like this slick Sting Ray's correct Lynndale Blue 2-stage. That glossy hue is especially smooth thanks to a first-rate restoration, which teased the car's appearance to something very close to what it originally presented at Syracuse, New York's Salina Motors. Naturally, there's a full round of factory bolt-ons, like Soft Ray glass and a requisite Stinger Hood, which have been either fully restored or accurately reproduced. And today, this coupe rolls as one top-notch C2 that's perfectly worthy of exceptional design, world beating performance and a distinguished spot in the coveted Triple Crown Registry. ENGINE What's better than a correctly restored Corvette that's won multiple national awards? A correctly restored, numbers-matching Corvette that's won multiple national awards! Tilt the car's hood and you'll find an original L36 big block that frames a correct "IL" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN in a '67-exclusive 3904351 casting number and January (A) 23rd (23), 1967 (7) casting date. At the top of the Chevy Orange 427, a familiar Holley carburetor rides between a chrome, correctly decaled air cleaner and bright stainless fluid lines. Below that carburetor, a stock Chevrolet intake funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture in to tough, cast iron heads, which wear traditional steel valve covers. When the juice hits the cylinders, reliable, chrome-capped ignition sparks fresh, stainless-sleeved wires while a stock cam and rotating assembly push spent gases through factory exhaust manifolds. Cooling for that fire is provided by a beefy radiator, which hangs in front of pliable GM hoses and reproduction tower clamps. And, aesthetically, this Chevy's tidy engine compartment is exceptionally well done, framing a correct alternator, rebuilt master cylinder and reproduction Delco battery in bright decals, bright inspection marks and clean, Satin Black fenders. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Not surprisingly, someone spent a lot of time carefully restoring the bottom of this exclusive Vette. Behind the awesome big block, a familiar Muncie 4-speed sports a correct 3885010 casting number, a Muncie (P) assembled on February (B) 28th (28), 1967 (7) build stamp and a matching partial VIN. That tough transmission twists a stout, posi-traction rear end that's fitted with highway-friendly gears. Turns come courtesy of an old school manual steering rack. Four disc brakes provide solid, confident stops. Factory replacement exhaust funnels spent gases through baritone turbo mufflers. Solid, unvarnished floors perfectly complement a straight, Satin Black chassis. And all that reliable hardware rolls on conservative Rally Wheels that spin 7.75-15 Firestone Deluxe Champion redlines around stainless trim rings and polished center caps. INTERIOR Crack this C2's cockpit and you'll find a correct Dark Blue interior that appears to have been completely replaced during the car's extensive rebirth. Seating comes courtesy of correct leather thrones, which are anchored between fresh seatbelts, bright stainless trim and a small console that's centered on a fully functional shifter. From the driver's perch, a traditional clock and Delco AM/FM radio ride between rebuilt gauges and an aluminum-trimmed glove box. Below that dash, like-new carpet balances translucent floor mats between fresh stainless sills. Above those sills, chrome-trimmed door panels hang monochromatic accents between small armrests and traditional handles. In front of the driver, a satin-spoke steering wheel laps a brilliant cross-flag emblem. And behind the passengers, a fully carpeted storage compartment provides a reasonable amount of cargo space. HISTORICAL INFORMATION Since this Sting Ray is a fully documented Triple Crown winner, there's no questioning the authenticity of its restoration. Although the car basically doubled the price of a standard Corvette, it delivered world class driving dynamics for a fraction of what its overrated Ferrari and Lamborghini competitors cost. It showed the automakers that there was definitely a market for ultimate performance cars and, more importantly, showed the world that Detroit was definitely capable of competing with Europe's best performance brands. Today, we fondly reference cars like this pristine '94 ZR-1 as the platform that broke the ice for killer American superstars like Chevrolet's own C6 ZR1 and SRT's Viper GTS. And, as expected, this fanatically kept, all-original survivor is as crisp as the day it rolled off Bowling Green's assembly line. If you've been searching for an awesome late-model Vette that's fun, reliable, documented and equipped with top-notch pedigree, you've found your next car! With only 8,736 miles on its cool digital odometer, this stunning Vette began life as a highly optioned coupe that was delivered to Kerbeck Chevrolet in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Its original window sticker, which is included with our sale, lists the following roster of equipment. STANDARD EQUIPMENT:5.7 liter V8 that utilizes Sequential Fuel Injection to create 300 horsepower4-speed automatic transmission that's equipped with overdriveAcceleration Slip Regulation (ASR)5-link rear suspension that's complete with a fiberglass, transversely mounted springIndependent front suspensionPower rack and pinion steering4-wheel, power disc brakes-----Driver and passenger airbagsBosch ABS II anti-lock brakesBrake transmission shift interlockPassive keyless entry systemPass Key anti-theft system-----Electric, heated rearview mirrorsHalogen fog lamps1-piece, removable fiberglass roof panelPower-operated, retractable halogen headlamps-----AM/FM stereo that's complete with both a clock and cassette playerAir conditioningA combination of analog and digital instrumentationElectronic speed control that's complete with a resume featureIntermittent wiper systemLeather seats that include lateral support and adjustable backsLeather-wrapped, sport steering wheelPower door locksPower windows that feature a driver's side express down functionRear window defoggerRemote hatch release OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:50 state emissions ($00)ZR1 Special Performance Package ($31,258)- 5.7 liter, 32-valve dual overhead cam V8 that's complete with Multi-Port Fuel Injection- 275/40ZR17 front tires- 315/35ZR17 rear tires- Two 17x9.5 styled aluminum wheels- Two 17x11 styled aluminum wheels- Heavy duty brake system- Electronic air conditioning- Specific body panels- Selective ride and handling- Adjustable, leather-wrapped sport seats- Power, 6-way seats- Tire pressure warning system- Delco Bose AM/FM stereo that features seek/scan, a cassette player, a CD player, an electronic clock and Delco Loc II technology- Solar Ray glassRoof Package ($950)Blue, removable roof panel ($00) STANDARD VEHICLE PRICE: $36,285 TOTAL OPTIONS: $32,208 DESTINATION CHARGE: $550 TOTAL VEHICLE PRICE: $69,043 With today's history lesson in the books, I'll jump right in to describing every aspect of this vivid time capsule. The car's bright Torch Red paint, which is topped by a durable clearcoat shell, perfectly accentuates its lightweight body. That body's composite panels display precise fit and excellent finish under ancillary hardware that functions well and seals great. And by the looks of this Corvette's slick finish, I'm fairly certain it has never seen daily driver duty. In fact, it's very unlikely the car's glossy, wet-look hue has ever felt anything more aggressive than a soft detailing cloth. And when that level of ownership is combined with Chevrolet's top notch build quality, it creates one seriously capable sports car that'll show well and absolutely blister the road! Walking around this coupe, it's easy to appreciate how gently late-model C4s have aged. Nearly two decades after they debuted, the car's sharp lines still represent the Corvette brand incredibly well. At the front its neon body, a clean combination of halogen running lamps and amber turn signals frame a stamped Corvette tag panel that's free of chips or damage of any kind. Above that tag panel, a long hood, which mimics the cowl induction units found on classic Chevrolets, features a fresh black Corvette emblem that's complete with a pristine mix of silver checkers, black checkers and a red Chevy bowtie. At the sides of that emblem, the car's profile carries the same coke bottle shape of older Corvettes, except whittled down by years of gained aerodynamic knowledge. Embedded in that knowledge, a ring of body-color trim perfectly complements clear cornering lamps, traditional Corvette gills, sinister "ZR-1" emblems, satin black door handles and body-matched mirrors. Inside those mirrors, original, lightly tinted glass reflects a small center high mount stop lamp and painted targa roof. And at the back of the car's body, four trademark Corvette tail lights frame a broad "CORVETTE" script, vertical reverse lamps and original, square exhaust tips. The aluminum LT5 V8 found under the hood of this virtually new Corvette is a modern work of automotive art. Originally intended to be a simple set of 16-valve cylinder heads atop a basic Chevrolet small block, the Lotus engineers assigned to the project quickly realized there was no cost-effective way to build such a motley beast. Instead, they designed a world class V8 which shared basic dimensions with Chevrolet's storied small block, but exactly zero interchangeable components. The result is a 32-valve, 4-cam powerhouse that features a trick dual-path induction system, 405 horsepower and 385 lb./ft. of torque, all without any help from fuel supplements or any kind of forced induction. The aesthetically pleasing piece was assembled by Mercury Marine, whose specialization in aluminum casting won them the contract. And when fitted under the Corvette's clamshell hood, it became an ultra-performance world record holder. There's no mistaking the big engine's unique intake and sculpted cam covers, which are emblazoned with the Corvette logo, for something any less than fantastic. And, more beautifully finished than any engine since the 1930s, the LT5 in this ZR-1 is preserved in 100% showroom-fresh condition. Don't worry; the lightweight mill has definitely been operated enough to stay healthy, with its fluids being changed regularly. And nothing, from the bottom of its spotless hood to the top of its clean oil pan, shows any significant signs of wear and tear. Behind that hot small block, a proven ZF 6-speed distributes power to a factory Corvette rear end. That combination works great in conjunction with the motor's ability to shut down half its intake runners, making this Vette plenty quick off the line and a joy to cruise on the highway. All ZR-1s have a Lotus-tuned FX3 double A-arm front and independent rear suspension, which features electronic traction control and driver-adjustable active ride control. 4-wheel, Lotus-tuned power disc brakes combine with Lotus-tuned power steering to keep all that power productive and pointed straight. Factory dual exhaust runs from original equipment manifolds into two rear-mounted mufflers that hang just before GM's familiar square exhaust tips. And torque meets the pavement through a set of killer 17-inch alloys that spin super wide 275/40 Goodyear Eagle GS-C radials in front of even wider 315/35 Goodyear Eagle GS-C radials. The bottom of this Corvette is every bit as nice as its spectacular engine compartment and glossy exterior panels, showing minimal wear and almost no signs of weathering. The car's bright suspension bits contrast nicely to a clean floorpan. And its straight and solid chassis barely looks like its seen ANY time on the street. Good preservation is key to any vintage car's interior, and this C4's clean cockpit looks factory fresh in virtually every way. The plush driving environment kicks off with a pair of 6-way, power adjustable buckets that are stitched in Black leather. In front of those buckets, a leather-wrapped and cross-flag branded steering wheel laps a conservative dash that's fitted with both clear analog and bright digital gauges. Inside that dash, the car's modern center stack anchors electronic climate control above a premium Delco Bose sound system, a simple black shifter and buttons for the adjustable suspension. Opposite that center stack, two-tone side panels hang switches for both power windows and power door locks above sculpted armrests. At the back of those side panels, a surprisingly spacious cargo hold features enough room for short, weekend road trips. And naturally, all the amenities and conveniences you've come to expect in a modern ride are present and accounted for. The sale of this investment grade ZR-1 includes a laminated build sheet, original factory paperwork, the original window sticker outlined above, a laminated copy of that window sticker, an original owner's manual, an original owner's VHS tape and two key fobs. Throughout the Corvette's 60 year history Chevrolet has produced a plethora of special edition cars, but many of them were trendy stripe and decal kits that bordered on cheesy. This 1994, LT5 equipped ZR-1 is subtle, classy, and doesn't need to be plastered with stickers or huge badges to make its point. Whether this awesome C4 is your first Corvette, or just the newest addition to your fleet, it's the kind of high quality collector car that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face! Given their fantastic style and glorious lack of refinement, the earliest C1s are certainly candidates. Folks searching for brute force and unmatched swagger continue to place money on big block C2s. If we're talking strictly functionality and performance numbers, the world-class Z06 takes the cake. But, if you live in the collector car world, there's one moniker that stands above them all: ZR1. Twice as livable as a C1, much harder to duplicate than big block C2s and featuring comparable performance to the generally less refined Z06, the King of the Road is widely considered the ultimate version of America's favorite sports car. And, if you're looking for an ultimate edition of that ultimate version of America's favorite sports car, you've come to the right place! This Bloomington-certified, 1,064-mile coupe is 1 of 2 1992 ZR-1s equipped with Black on Arctic White aesthetics. And presently, the other car is crunched in a salvage yard with very little chance of ever hitting the road again. So, what are you waiting for? Here's your shot at a vintage Corvette that, thanks to highly unique construction, mixes record-breaking performance with unmatched exclusivity! BODYWORK/TRIM Take one look down the sides of this razor-sharp coupe and you'll see a well-maintained garage queen that's assembly line fresh in virtually every way. Glossy Black 2-stage shows just how far GM paint technology had come from the days of multi-colored Stingrays. The car's lightweight body panels display precise fit and exact finish under ancillary hardware that functions well and seals great. It's very unlikely that body has ever felt anything more aggressive than a soft detailing cloth. And when that level of ownership is combined with Bowling Green's top-notch build quality, it creates one seriously capable sports car that shows well and absolutely blisters the road! ENGINE The aluminum LT5 V8 found under the hood of this virtually new Corvette is a modern work of automotive art. Originally intended to be a simple set of 16-valve cylinder heads atop a basic Chevrolet small block, the Lotus engineers assigned to the project quickly realized there was no cost-effective way to build such a motley beast. Instead, they designed a world class V8, which shared basic dimensions with Chevrolet's storied small block, but exactly zero interchangeable components. The result is a 32-valve, 4-cam powerhouse that utilizes a trick dual-path induction system to create 375 horsepower and 370 lb./ft. of all-American torque. The much lauded aluminum specialists at Mercury Marine of Stillwater, Oklahoma assembled the aesthetically pleasing mill. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Behind that hot small block, a proven ZF 6-speed distributes power to a factory Corvette rear end. Factory dual exhaust runs from original equipment manifolds into two rear-mounted mufflers that hang just before GM's familiar quad-outlet tips. And torque meets the pavement through a set of killer 17-inch alloys that spin super wide 275/40ZR17 Goodyear Eagle GS-Cs in front of even wider 315/35ZR17 Goodyear Eagle GS-Cs. INTERIOR Like its body, this C4's clean cockpit is well maintained in virtually every way. The plush driving environment kicks off with a pair of 6-way, power adjustable buckets that are stitched in Arctic White leather. In front of those buckets, a leather-wrapped and Corvette-branded steering wheel laps a conservative dash that's fitted with both clear analog and bright digital gauges. Inside that dash, the car's modern center stack anchors electronic climate control above a premium Delco Bose sound system, a simple black shifter and buttons for the adjustable suspension. Opposite that center stack, 2-tone side panels hang switches for both power windows and power door locks above sculpted armrests. And, at the back of those panels, a surprisingly spacious cargo hold features enough room for short, weekend road trips. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 Documented 2,892 Actual Mile One Owner Corvette ZR-1 5.7L LT5 V8 ZF 6 Speed Year: 1990 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Red Mileage: 2945 Transmission type: 6 Speed Manual Engine: 5.7 Liter V8 Interior color: Red Vehicle Info When Dave McLellan replaced Zora Arkus-Duntov as the chief engineer of the Corvette, he had some legendary shoes to fill. Assuming control in 1975, McLellan lead the brand through some of the darkest days of not only the Corvette but American performance in general. By 1990, change was on the horizon and at the forefront of that change was the Corvette ZR-1. With a revolutionary Lotus-designed powerplant, cutting-edge technology and a refined look, the ZR-1 was destined to be viewed as a milestone in Corvette history. This factory-fresh 1990 ZR-1 shows just 2,892 original miles and comes with some of the most thorough documentation imaginable. If you're in the market for a pristine example of one of the most desirable C4 Corvettes in the most desirable color, your car has arrived. Bright Red is the quintessential Corvette color, and the finish on this one is 100% factory original, perfectly preserved and lovingly maintained since new by a dedicated collector. From the early-style nose to the widened quarter panels housing 11-inch rear wheels, the bodywork remains refreshingly original. Coming in at just over $60,000, this was the most expensive car in the GM stable in 1990. The good news? That money brought better than average paint and build quality, thanks to the specialized assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. If anything, this car may even be better than new, thanks to two decades of rubbing and buffing of the paint, and fastidious maintenance. If you like your Corvettes factory original, they don't get more authentic than this. The ZR-1 is easy to identify with its high-mounted stoplight atop the rear hatch and slightly squared-off taillights, although the LT1 Corvettes quickly adopted these, making the ZR-1 even more anonymous. The hatch is perfect, with the embedded defroster strips undamaged. The ZR-1 windshield is coated with a special UV-filtering coating. Because of the size of the LT5 engine, GM had to use a smaller less effective AC system. To compensate, Chevrolet used the special windshield in order to block out the suns UV rays. This coating gives the windshield its distinctive bluish cast, and unlike most ZR1's of this vintage, this one shows no sign of delamination at the very top edge. Out back, the rear comes in at over four inches wider than the base model Corvette. The pearl under this Corvette's clamshell hood is the 5.7L LT5 V8. Originally intended to be a set of 16-valve cylinder heads atop a basic small block, Lotus engineers assigned to the project quickly realized that there was no way to cost-effective way build such a beast. Instead, they designed an all-aluminum V8 which shared only basic dimensions with the standard small block. With 32 valves, four cams and a trick dual-path induction system, the LT5 belted out 375 horsepower in 1990. The engine was built by Mercury Marine, whose specialization in aluminum casting won them the contract. When this engine was introduced to the Corvette chassis, it sent waves throughout the automotive community. Visually, there's no mistaking the unique intake manifold and sculpted cam covers emblazoned with the Corvette logo. More attractively finished than any engine since the 1930s, the LT5 in this ZR-1 is preserved in showroom fresh condition. Operated enough to keep everything healthy, almost every component is original. The fluids have been changed but the plugs, wires, belts, and hoses remain factory issue and in fine condition. If preservation class judging is your thing, this car will deliver the trophies. The chassis is equally well preserved, including the ZF 6-speed manual transmission. Out back, the ZR-1 uses 3.42 gears with a limited slip on a slightly beefed-up version of the stock Corvette 5-link suspension. By 1990, the Corvette had matured into more than just a street-legal racer with a flinty ride, and the ZR-1's FX3 adjustable suspension made it more than capable of comfortable long-distance cruising. This one still wears its original brakes and even the original brake pads are in place, with the rotor surfaces bright and shiny. The wheels on the ZR-1 were similar to the standard Corvette, but were special 179.5 up front and a massive 1711. Wrapped in 245/40 and 315/35 Goodyear Eagles, the factory look remains intact. If you were a technophile living in the 1990's, the Flame Red leather interior of this ZR-1 was a dream realized. With an advanced digital and analog dashboard, deeply bolstered highly adjustable bucket seats and every electronic accessory GM could dream up, the ZR-1 delivers on its promise of high technology. The cockpit embraces the driver, angling all the controls to their favor, including the HVAC and entertainment systems. At the base of the console, you'll find what GM called the valet key which shut down half of the LT5's fuel injectors and intake runners, effectively limiting its performance. A clever, if gimmicky, idea that works as advertised. Forget to switch it to "FULL" and you'll find that roughly 150 horses have suddenly gone missing from your ZR-1's corral. The interior of this time capsule car is immaculately preserved, with minimal wear on the seats, carpets, or any other soft parts. The original protective plastic on the seats was only removed for our photo shoot, and is included with the car. The trunk is also flawless, and neatly stows one of the two removable tops when not in use. Documentation for this Corvette practically defines comprehensive. To start with, ALL relevant paper work from the original sale is present and well preserved. These items included everything from the original window stickers and invoices to the owner's manual and hangtags detailing the ABS system and cleaning instructions. Next up is the ZR-1 owner's kit a gray box that contains a leather portfolio with the Corvette logo on it, a "driver's manual" (not to be confused with the owner's manual), a VHS tape about the ZR-1 and a gold key chain. Also included are two books detailing the 1990 and 1991 Corvettes. The original protective steering wheel cover is even here! This is as close to a 90s Chevrolet showroom as you'll get without a time machine. The best aspect of owning a ZR-1 like this one is that, whether you decide to drive it or stash it in a collection, you own a genuinely great car capable of being driven anywhere in comfort. While every subsequent generation of Corvette has shared the same set of goals, this one marks the first whole-hearted attempt at transforming the best American sports car into the world's best sports car. Don't miss your chance to bring home a fantastic example of one the of the most significant C4 Corvettes assembled. About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1969 Plymouth Road Runner SRT-8 Award Winning Road Runner SRT-8 Pro Touring 6.1L HEMI 5 Speed Auto PS AC NAV Year: 1969 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Red Mileage: 28666 Transmission type: 5 Speed Automatic Engine: 6.1 Liter Hemi V8 Interior color: Charcoal Vehicle info Let's face it, as much as we love the muscle cars of old, the advancements in technology that are available in a vehicle today are pretty nice and handy: Bluetooth, cruise control, climate control, and not to mention all the safety advancements that we have made over the years. But what if you could have both? Is there a way of combining the incredible look of yesteryear with all the technology of a modern day vehicle? Instead of performing a standard resto-mod on a '69 Roadrunner that was brought to them, West Coast Classic decided to make this particular Roadrunner set the bar for all future resto-mods by combining it with a 2008 Hemi Charger SRT8. How would that even work you ask? Well the team purchased a used 08 Hemi Charger SRT8, stripped it down to the bare chassis, made a few tweaks, and then placed the Roadrunner body down on the Charger. The result is a 1969 Hemi Roadrunner like you have never seen before. Thanks to a 6.1L Hemi that cranks out 425hp, a gorgeous leather interior and extensive work to the body and chassis, this Roadrunner is a true 'modern' day muscle car. Unlike most of its counterparts, the Roadrunner doesn't look so much muscular it looks indestructible. Fresh out of the extensive and unique build, the paint work is first rate and displays a level of depth that factory sprayed cars simply can't compete with. The color itself is made up of 6 coats of Lotus Calypso Red which is shot over impressively straight AMD panels. The car makes a great first impression. Panel fitment is equally good with even gaps all around. Looking at the car head on, a single strip of stainless wraps around four headlights and a square grille that keeps with the car's hard lines. A show quality chrome bumper houses turn signals and a recess for the license plate. At the start of the hood, Plymouth lettering is found just above the headlights and leads to an aggressive slick hood that wears two hood scoops that reveal the Hemi lying underneath. The side profile remains largely free of distractions with only front and rear marker lights, chrome door handles and Road Runner badges. Under the angled roofline, clean glass surrounds the interior, framed by dent-free stainless trim pieces that provide a nice contrast against the vibrant red paint. Out back, two square taillights are angled inward, framing the lower portion of the decklid. Another chrome bumper, two chrome exhaust tips, and one final Road Runner badge complete the look. Lift the massive Roadrunner hood and you'll find the SRT8's 6.1L Hemi V8 that cranks out a stout 425hp at 6200 RPMs. Given the massive horsepower output you would be surprised to learn that, if you could tame your right foot, the engine was good for nearly 20mpg on the highway. At the top of the famous Hemi Orange block is the tall intake manifold that shoves the air fuel mixture into the hemispherical combustion chamber. The build team installed touches throughout that really speak to the heritage of the Roadrunner. On the air box is a Coyote Duster decal that catches everyone's attention, while also installed is the voice of the Roadrunner horn. Underneath this Roadrunner is where you see it turn 100% Charger. Flip it upside down and you'll see the '08 Charger SRT8 chassis that West Coast Classic cut in half, and when it was all said and done, removed 4 inches from the chassis, and narrowed it another 4 inches to allow for perfect wheel placement in the Roadrunner. The process was extremely extensive and when finished, the team discovered they had used over 50lbs of welding wire to make the chassis a perfect fit for the Roadrunner. By doing so, the Roadrunner now boasts fully independent front and rear suspension, 4-wheel power disc Brembo anti-lock brakes, rack and pinion steering with hydraulic assist, and a five link rear fully independent suspension. Bolted to the Hemi is the 5-speed automatic AutoStick transmission with an overdrive. At the corners of the car, 20" Forged American Racing Wheels Torque Thrust rims have been wrapped in Nitto Invo rubber to provide incredible handling. A luxurious black leather interior greets those that open the doors to this wild Roadrunner. Another benefit of placing the Roadrunner body on the new Charger is having all the luxuries of a modern interior. The power front bucket seats are some of the most comfortable seats we have ever sat behind, and it's still hard to believe that you get to look over that gorgeous '69 Roadrunner hood. In front of the driver is the leather wrapped steering wheel that sits just in front a white gauge instrument cluster. Between the two front bucket seats is a center console and the pistol grip shifter for the 5-speed automatic. Just above the shifter are the controls for the dual climate air conditioner, and the DVD based Navigation with Sirius satellite radio that includes a 6.5" touch screen. The audio inside is supplied by Kicker 13 Speaker audio sound system featuring 200-watt subwoofer and 322-watt amplifier. SRT8 badging can be found all over the interior and Hemi floor mats protect the like new carpet. Included in the sale of this wildly unique '69 Plymouth Road Runner is a copy of the June 2013 issue of Mopar Action where this very ride was the cover story. This incredible machine blends old school looks with modern power, convenience, and safety. It doesn't get much better than this '69 Plymouth Hemi Road Runner that features over 400 horsepower and a gorgeous yet aggressive look. Muscle cars don't tend to last long under our showroom lights, and as much as this Roadrunner has going for it, it won't be long before some lucky buyer snaps it up. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 1,418 Actual Mile DMC-12 Back to The Future! Year: 1982 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Gray Mileage: 1418 Transmission type: 3 Speed Automatic Engine: 2.85 L V6 Interior color: Gray Vehicle info What's the first thing you think of when you see a pristine DeLorean DMC-12? Doc Brown's crazy hair? Marty McFly's '80s slang? How to source enough Plutonium to perfect your attempt at time travel? Well, some folks here at RK Motors Charlotte DO have crazy hair. And we make it a point to include era-correct slang in many of our write ups. But, unfortunately, we can't source Plutonium or attempt time travel. While that might seem a bit 'heavy', we can sell you a showroom-fresh classic like this 1,418-mile DeLorean that's so nice it's virtually timeless. So, if you're willing to limit your time travel to something that's more akin to a time capsule, step into the realm of this stunning DMC-12 where, as John Z. DeLorean put it, "unique is a virtue"! Production of 'The DeLorean' was a direct result of many automotive forces combining their skills to create something universally beneficial. In America, Detroit visionary John Z. DeLorean had quickly climbed the ranks of Chrysler, Packard and General Motors in hopes of establishing his own automotive entity. In Italy, world-renowned stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro was in the midst of introducing a crisp design language dubbed 'folded paper'. And in the UK, storied Lotus founder Colin Chapman was looking for engineering work to fund his troubled automotive boutique. In 1975, DeLorean officially chartered the DeLorean Motor Company. By 1976, he had a running prototype of the 'Z Tavio', an innovative coupe that would be offered to the public for roughly $12K. In 1978, DeLorean Motor Company broke ground on its first factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. And in 1981, with the help of Giugiaro and Chapman, the DMC-12 was officially introduced. DMC's sensational coupe takes shape thanks to Glass Reinforced Plastic that's cloaked in brushed, 304-grade stainless. The idea was to create a profile that wouldn't chip, fade or blemish. And, knowing stainless is notoriously hard to re-shape, DeLorean made sure every panel could be replaced as needed. Designed to be both fun and efficient, that profile achieves a super slick .35 Coefficient of Drag. Noise and vibrations are isolated via Lotus-developed polyurethane foam. And plastic, body-matched bumpers ensure years of low-speed durability. This particular DMC-12 differs from typical low-mileage examples in that its current owner conducted a $30K update which was designed to address known durability issues. That means you can purchase this showroom-fresh gem with the confidence of knowing everything, from its fresh tires to its re-grained steel, is right, tight and ready to roll! A late 1982 build that was actually assembled by Consolidated International, this car represents the very best of what Dunmurry had to offer. And, as a fully-sorted garage queen that's only seen three owners, it's one of the nicest DeLoreans on the planet! At the front of its body, a freshly painted valence hangs clear headlights, amber parking lamps and a familiar, "DMC" branded grille over a wind-cheating spoiler. At the top of that grille, a '82-exclusive hood founds a '82-exclusive "DeLorean" script in front of dark-tint glass and functional engine louvers. At the sides of those louvers, freshly striped fenders center power, partitioned windows between sporty hash marks and clean "DMC" call-outs. And at the back of the car, a second freshly painted valence centers new taillights above small stainless exhaust tips. During the DMC-12's development, engineers considered a variety of powerplants. For example, DeLorean's original prototype utilized a Citroen rotary mill. When that engine went out of production, Ford's Cologne V6 was heavily considered. But, ultimately, the 2.85 litre Peugeot Renault Volvo V6 was chosen for its combination of performance and durability. Utilizing aluminum construction, overhead camshafts and 2 valves per cylinder, this proven powerplant turns smooth 8.8 to 1 compression into a 130 horsepower and 162 lb./ft. torque. And, despite moving a relatively heavy payload, those respectable numbers provide great fuel economy! Aesthetically, everything on this PRV, from its stock internals to its Bosch fuel injection, reflects a history of fastidious maintenance. Twist the key and the cylinders rumble to life, sending their rhythmic notes through a subtle exhaust system. And with one tap of the throttle, the engine zings smoothly toward redline. Take a look under this factory-spec cruiser and you'll find straight, freshly-sorted mechanicals that are clean and weather-free. Originally intended as a mid-engine platform, the DeLorean ultimately slid its V6 rearward to accommodate a 3-speed Peugeot Renault Volvo transaxle. The car's body rides on a 2-piece Glass Reinforced Plastic monocoque that's mated to a Lotus-inspired double-Y chassis. That chassis' fully independent suspension combines speed proportional rack and pinion steering with two 10-inch rotors, two 10.5-inch rotors and four power-assisted calipers. Exhaust rolls through stainless steel pipes that, like the car's stainless exterior and epoxied chassis, were built with ultimate durability in mind. At the corners of the floor, a-symmetrical alloys spin 195/60R14 Falken Ziex ZE-912s in front of 225/60R15 Falken Ziex ZE-912s. And, if you're a stickler for absolute authenticity, the car's original Goodyear NCTs ARE included with our sale. DMC offered strictly monochromatic leather inside their futuristic creation and, accordingly, this 12's clean cabin is decked in factory-fresh gray. Hoist the LED-lit doors and a plush driving environment kicks off with a pair of comfy buckets that were specifically designed to accommodate the 6'4" stature of creator John DeLorean. In front of those buckets, a pliable dash anchors correct 80 MPH gauges above electronic climate control and a modern Pioneer CD player. Below that dash, a stitched leather console centers a decidedly 80s shifter and factory power window switches on fresh carpet that's protected by "DMC" branded floor mats. Opposite that console, padded side panels hang controls for both power mirrors and power door locks above sculpted armrests and small pull straps. Above those panels, a new headliner frames small reading lamps and a self-dimming mirror. In front of the driver, a leather-wrapped, 3-spoke steering wheel laps a fully adjustable column. Behind the passengers, a small cargo hold features a requisite Flux Capacitor. And in front of the cockpit, a forward-tilt bonnet reveals four cubic feet of storage space. The sale of this would-be time machine includes an original owner's manual, an original service manual, a stack of restoration receipts, a re-graining kit and an original cassette player. In many ways, The DeLorean's story mimics the Back to the Future franchise that was built around it: a passionate belief in infinite possibility, and how the past and present relate to the future. With a forward-thinking mindset, the car's creator looked around and saw things he could improve upon. He used established design and engineering to promote progress and create something significantly advanced. And today, thanks to its unique design and pop culture fortune, this DMC-12 reminds us of optimal times reminiscent of Marty McFly's 1985. One thing is certain: like McFly, this righteous classic has a very bright future! About this auction & rk motors charlotte Please note that all sales are binding and final. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 2,892 Actual Mile One Owner Corvette ZR-1 6 Speed Year: 1990 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Red Mileage: 2945 Transmission type: 6 Speed Manual Engine: 5.7 Liter V8 Interior color: Red Vehicle info When Dave McLellan replaced Zora Arkus-Duntov as the chief engineer of the Corvette, he had some legendary shoes to fill. Assuming control in 1975, McLellan lead the brand through some of the darkest days of not only the Corvette but American performance in general. By 1990, change was on the horizon and at the forefront of that change was the mighty ZR-1. With a revolutionary Lotus-designed powerplant, cutting-edge technology and refined looks, the ZR-1 was destined to be a milestone in Corvette history. And, speaking of history, this factory-fresh ZR-1 backs just 13,425 original miles with some of the most thorough documentation imaginable. If you're in the market for a pristine example of one of the most desirable Corvettes ever produced, you've found your next classic! This stunning, one family-owned Vette began life as a highly optioned coupe that was delivered to Sunset Chevrolet in Sarasota, Florida. Silky Black two-stage shows just how far GM paint technology has come from the days of multi-colored Stingrays. The car's lightweight body panels display precise fit and exact finish under ancillary hardware that functions well and seals great. It's very unlikely that body has ever felt anything more aggressive than a soft detailing cloth. And when that level of ownership is combined with Bowling Green's top notch build quality, it creates one seriously capable sports car that shows well and absolutely blisters the road! Walking around this Chevy, it's easy to appreciate how gently late-model C4s have aged. Roughly two decades after they debuted, the car's sharp lines still represent the Corvette brand incredibly well. At the front of its wet-looking body, a clean combination of halogen running lamps and amber turn signals frame a stamped Corvette tag panel that's free of chips or damage of any kind. Above that tag panel, a long hood, which mimics the cowl induction units found on classic Chevrolets, features a fresh black Corvette badge that's complete with a pristine mix of silver checkers, black checkers and a red Chevy bowtie. At the sides of that badge, the car's profile carries the same coke bottle shape of older Corvettes, except whittled down by years of gained aerodynamic knowledge. Embedded in that knowledge, a ring of body-color trim perfectly complements clear corner lamps, traditional Corvette gills, Satin Black door handles and body-matched mirrors. Inside those mirrors, original, chip-free glass reflects a small center high mount stop lamp and either a tinted glass roof or painted targa top. And at the back of the car's body, four trademark Corvette tail lights frame bold Corvette emblems, vertical reverse lamps and original, quad-outlet exhaust tips. The result is a 32-valve, 4-cam powerhouse that features a trick dual-path induction system, 375 horsepower and 370 lb./ft. of torque, all without any help from fuel supplements or any kind of forced induction. Factory dual exhaust runs from original equipment manifolds into two rear-mounted mufflers that hang just before GM's familiar quad-outlet tips. And torque meets the pavement through a set of killer 17-inch alloys that spin super wide 275/40 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports in front of even wider 315/35 BF Goodrich Comp T/As. Like its body, this C4's clean cockpit is well-maintained in virtually every way. The plush driving environment kicks off with a pair of 6-way, power adjustable buckets that are stitched in black leather. Opposite that center stack, monotone side panels hang switches for both power windows and power door locks above sculpted armrests. At the back of those panels, a surprisingly spacious cargo hold features enough room for short, weekend road trips. And naturally, all the amenities and conveniences you've come to expect in a modern ride are present and accounted for. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 2,892 Actual Mile One Owner Corvette ZR-1 6 Speed Year: 1990 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Red Mileage: 2945 Transmission type: 6 Speed Manual Engine: 5.7 Liter V8 Interior color: Red Vehicle info When Dave McLellan replaced Zora Arkus-Duntov as the chief engineer of the Corvette, he had some legendary shoes to fill. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 5131 Actual Mile Corvette ZR1 Supercharged LS9 6 Speed Year: 2011 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 5131 Transmission type: 6 Speed Manual Engine: LS9 6.2 Liter Supercharged V8 Interior color: Black Vehicle info Take a look around the collector market and you'll see a common theme across all brands: The cars that bring the biggest money are the cars very few could afford to buy when they were new. Corvettes are a staple of that scene and show no sign of letting up, so let's run some numbers by you. GM produced just 13,596 Corvettes for the 2011 model year. Of that relatively small number, only 805 of them were ZR1s and, of those, only 292 were black. Without even getting into options, this 2011 Corvette ZR1 is already an exclusive car. Driven just 5,131 so far, this is definitely long-term investment material. Of course, with 638hp, six gears, and a race-tuned suspension, we couldn't blame you for taking it to the track every weekend either. What you do with the car is up to you but modern American hardware simply doesn't get much better than this Corvette! According to the original window sticker, options include the 3ZR Premium Equipment Group a $10,000 option that includes: Custom leather-wrapped interiorBose premium 7-speaker sound systemPower telescoping steering wheelHeated seatsMemory packageUniversal home remoteAdjustable sport bucket seats with perforated leather insertsPower 6-way adjustable passenger seatLuggage shade and cargo netBluetooth compatibilityNavigation system with AM/FM/CD/USB Factor in a set of optional $2,000 chrome aluminum wheels and a $1,300 Gas Guzzler tax and the sticker price added up to a whopping $124,050. With a firm footing in the six-figure territory, the car has got to look good and the folks at GM's Bowling Green, KY assembly facility made sure of that by putting the composite body through a complex paint process that guarantees first rate results. The panels are placed in a conductive primer booth where the surfaces are charged for paint, then two layers of primer are applied, dried, and sanded to rid the surface of any imperfections. Once smoothed and prepped, a water-born basecoat is applied and dried slowly at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Finally, the shell is covered in in clearcloat and placed in 250-degree heat until completely dry. Is it worth it? Take a good look. The black hue is deep, reflective, and easily rivals some of the best custom work in the RK Motors Showroom. Of course, it takes more than slick paint to impress the Corvette set. Chevrolet pulled all the stops creating thoughtful detail pieces to fill in the sinister C6 profile. At ground level, a ZR1-exclusive carbon fiber splitter helps with downforce at the front of the car while a pair of HID headlights and halogen fog lamps stare forward. Behind the fascia, the lightweight carbon fiber hood has been radiused to clear the supercharger below while a polycarbonate window offers a look into the engine compartment. The carbon fiber theme continues onto the sides where wide carbon fenders make room for functional heat extractors below satin ZR1 badges. From there, the view is rounded out by smaller items including body-match mirrors, touch-sensitive door handles, and carbon fiber side skirts. The greenhouse offers plenty of clean factory glass topped by a carbon fiber roof panel. It's worth noting that the roof and splitter are both topped with clearcoat so that carbon fiber weave will continue to shine for years to come. Follow the sloped rear glass back to find a rear end capped by a subtle spoiler. Below, the iconic round taillights frame a cross-flag emblem and another satin ZR1 badge while a rear diffuser and stainless exhaust tips finish off the hyper-aggressive look. Unlike its Lotus-assisted predecessor, the C6 ZR1 relies on the proven combination of a Chevrolet small block and an Eaton supercharger. Naturally, it's a little more intricate than that summary may indicate. Derived from the Corvette C6R racing program and hand-assembled at GM's Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan, this car's LS9 V8 incorporates specialty processes typically seen in racing engines to produce a highly refined and precise driving experience. The foundation is an aluminum block that utilizes pressed in cylinder liners to accommodate added pressure from the positive-displacement, roots type supercharger. Inside that block you'll find a forged steel crankshaft, cast aluminum flat top pistons and a high performance camshaft while a high-flow intake manifold and aluminum heads top off the piece. An integrated charge cooling system and a dry sump oil pan ensure the engine stays hydrated, even when the car is pulling over 1.0g in the corners while exhaust is handled by hydroformed headers that send spent gases through close coupled catalytic converters and rear mounted, dual chamber vacuum actuated mufflers. Despite producing a staggering 638hp and 604lb-ft of torque, the ZR1 still passes emissions, delivers respectable fuel economy, and maintains its street manners all the way to 205mph! The C6R inspiration continues underneath the car where an aluminum body structure hangs one-piece hydroformed perimeter rails and a carbon composite floor over a high capacity dual-disc clutch, a close-ratio TR6060 6-speed transaxle, high capacity axle shafts, and one of the largest carbon ceramic drilled disc brake systems offered on any production car. Those brakes utilize standard ABS, six-piston front calipers, four-piston rear calipers, 15.5-inch front rotors and 15-inch rear rotors to bring this road rocket to a very prompt stop. Regardless of the landscape, GM's revolutionary Magnetic Selective Ride Control offers full authority over the suspension thanks to nearly instantaneous dampening adjustments. The system also reduces axle hop during launch and helps suppress axle movement when cornering on uneven surfaces, so you can push this car to the limits without losing confidence. All this technology rides on an attention-grabbing set of 19 and 20-inch chrome aluminum wheels wrapped sticky Michelin Pilot radials. Between the composite doors, the leather-wrapped cockpit of this ZR1 is optioned to be just as comfortable during a daily commute as it is on track day thanks to that $10K 3ZR Premium Equipment Group upgrade. Cross over the ZR1-branded door sill plates to find a pair of power leather seats with built-in heaters and driver memory settings, enveloped leather-wrapped door panels and a matching dash. The arrangement is as driver-focused as ever with controls for basic features wrapped around the crisp backlit instrument cluster. GM's Heads Up display offers another option for monitoring vitals while the telescoping steering wheel allows precision placement for any driver. A 7-speaker Bose premium sound system, which is controlled through steering wheel mounted audio buttons, features a CD player, MP3 capability, XM satellite capability, Bluetooth connectivity and DVD-based navigation for a full range of modern conveniences. Pair those premium features with dual-zone climate control, cruise control, auto headlights, intermittent wipers, a trip computer, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, and a remote trunk release and it becomes very clear that this is the best of all worlds. A lot of people seem to think the golden age of automobiles happened 40 years ago. While we're certainly fans of old Detroit iron, there's something about mixing triple digit straightaway blasts, 1g cornering, dual-zone climate control, and a premium audio system that makes us think today may be the true zenith of performance. With just 5,131 miles on the clock and a killer options list that includes the top shelf 3RZ package, this ZR1 is probably the most comfortable way you could experience 638hp. Regardless if you're looking for a solid long-term investment or just a more interesting commute to work, this 2011 Corvette ZR1 is ready for action! But what if you could have both? Is there a way of combining the incredible look of yesteryear with all the technology of a modern day vehicle? Instead of performing a standard resto-mod on a '69 Roadrunner that was brought to them, West Coast Classics decided to make this particular Roadrunner set the bar for all future resto-mods by combining it with a 2008 Hemi Charger SRT8. Flip it upside down and you'll see the '08 Charger SRT8 chassis that West Coast Classics cut in half, and when it was all said and done, removed 4 inches from the chassis, and narrowed it another 4 inches to allow for perfect wheel placement in the Roadrunner.
