______________________________________________________________________________ PLEASE INQUIRE FOR ADDITIONAL PICTURES ______________________________________________________________________________In 1971, the well-recognized designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, whom was responsible for the design of the Maserati Boomerang, (one of the most iconic concept cars ever made) brought forth a new creation known as the Bora which made its debut in the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. With its roots stemming back to the Tipo 63, the mid-engine Bora came with a 4.7L or 4.9L quad cam V8 eventually coming standard with a revised 4.9L that put out 310bhp horsepower at 6000rpm which was about 30 more horsepower than the previous engine. From a design standpoint, cars of this era were extremely flamboyant and possessed styling elements that quite frankly had never been thought to be tangible. Mechanically, engines were being mounted in the middle of the car instead of the front to improve weight distribution and to allow uniq ue body designs to take fruition. These supercars that were being built were extraordinary and seemed to be ahead of their time. The Lamborghini Miura and Countach , the De Tomaso Pantera, the Ferrari 308, the Lancia Stratos, were all mid-engine and boasted extravagant designs that were fit for any 10 year old’s bedroom wall. The Maserati Bora also was mid-engine, pretty quick with a 0-60mph time of 6.5 seconds, but was more elegant in design. It also had a characteristic that almost all of its competitors seemed to severely lack which was that the Bora was sensible. Take for example the Lamborghini Countach. It is absolutely stunning to look at but is difficult to enter and exit, not very comfortable to be in for extended periods of time, there was not much head room, the clutch was heavy, you could not see out of the rear, and the cabin was a bit loud. Issues similar to this are what the flashy 70’s supercars had in common yet the Bora was quite the opposite. The Maserati Bora had a full size boot in the front, the mechanics were designed for safety and functionality, the interior was spacious and quiet all while still remaining appealing in design. All in all the Maserati was much more mild and practical than its rivals and still managed to encompass the qualities of a supercar. The reasoning behind this approach was Maserati’s client base. It consisted of individuals of sustained wealth and a taste for sophistication. There were individuals who were not looking for the flashy Lamborghini but a car that drove like a supercar in the 70’s and was still usable on a day to day basis. Even today, one will notice that the Bora is comfortable and pleasant to drive bringing us to the example on offer. This 1975 Bora, chassis #AM11749US930/engine #AM1071149930, is a matching numbers example that exhibits driver quality condition. Its origins are rooted in the City of Angles, with Los Angeles California serving as its first home once it departed the factory according to the original delivery note. Included in the Maserati Classiche Documents is a document that reads Mantaggio E Finitura Venturra (End of Line Data Sheet) in the heading and indicates that the car was shipped to New York on June 6, 1975. The Avviso Di Spedizione (Delivery Note) then shows invoice 334/A of July 5, 1975 to have this example arriving at Spett. Le Maserati Automobiles Inc., 12615 Beatrice Street, Los Angeles California. Furthermore, bringing light to the more recent whereabouts of this example, the service records show a $10k service completed by Dino Motors in San Manteo, California. Based off of this authentic documentation as well as the service records, it can be concluded that this example spent the majority of its life on the west coast, specifically in California. The example on offer was then brought to Arizona where its current caretaker resides and is now in Philadelphia being looked after in the LBI stable. Upon approach of this car, one will notice some minor imperfections in the paint which can be attributed to previous road use that has been accompanied by proper service and maintenance. These imperfections consist of several small nicks that have been touched up as well as a light scuff here and there but nothing severe enough to make one cringe. This car has been tastefully altered from its original yellow exterior to a deep and elegant navy blue. Continuing one’s examination of the car, the panel fitment and seams all fall into acceptable clearances. The stainless steel top still shows well and is a design feature that is specific to the Bora. As far as the rubber is concerned, some areas have begun to crack, for instance the rubber seal that surrounds the front windshield. The U.S. style bumpers have begun to display some faint cracking as well but with a driver quality car, these are items that can be expected and are not taken into consideration until the car is inspected up close. The wheels are original, still baring the factory stickers and are in good condition having no curb rash. Overall, the exterior of this example poses no major faults and presents well with inviting characteristics of a driver quality example. It is the perfect base for a color change back to yellow (quite rare) or will provide a great basis for current use and enjoyment. Moving to the interior, a glance at the door jams will reveal that the color change was quite thorough and properly completed with very clean jams. The driver and passenger seats are finished in a gray leather (originally black) have no tears or notable eye sores with their unique shape making them not only attractive but fairly comfortable. With the door open, some fading located on the side of the dash where the door panel meets it can be noted but items such as this contribute to the patina of the car. Once seated, you are presented with the original steering wheel and gauges. A look around the cabin will reveal elements that are consistent with an enjoyable and original driver quality car; some flaws, but again nothing short of a driver. The components and finishing materials have a welcomed age on them and function as they should. Stepping out of the cabin and relocating to the rear of the car, peering through the rear glass you are presented with the engine cover that Maserati decided to implement to cater to their more sophisticated consumer base. It is not until the rear bonnet is opened and the cover removed where one can then gaze at the 4.9L V8 engine, boasting the Maserati name on each of the valve covers. Once again this reveals a driver quality car with the engine bay in presentable and obviously serviced condition but to make it perfect, it would need some tidying up cosmetically. Mechanically however, the engine runs strong and pulls well with no major leaks or issues noted. Many of the hoses are supple and new along with new gaskets and a rebuilt fuel system. Sitting behind the engine is the original spare in its original boot. The front trunk does have some flaws in the carpeting but also houses the original tool kit and jack. The underside of the car shows in consistency with the rest of the car, cosmetically revealing its age to an extent but completely operational. Finally we have reached the discussion regarding the drive quality that the Bora provides. This example has recently received a thorough 10k service that has sorted all items that needed tending to. This service consisted of replacing and or repairing an assortment of components such as seat belts and bulbs, to fuel hoses and the clutch slave cylinder. Upon turning the key of this example, the driver is presented with a strong crank, and without much hassle, the engine fires. Once the fluids have gotten warm and the engine has reached operating temperature, you can put the Bora’s 4.9L V8 to the test. Put your foot down and the engine preforms an Italian tuned octet that raises the hair on the back of any enthusiast’s neck with an almost muscle-car-like tune. The gauges reveal a steady and constant water temperature, good oil pressure, followed by uneventful and smooth gear changes via the 5-speed gearbox. Lift your foot off the gas and the exhaust lets out a wonderful, almost metallic sounding pop and crackle that is thoroughly addicting. The steering is slightly on the heavier side but usable at speed as is common with most Italian sports cars of the era. The braking system functions as it should with the absence of any unwanted noises, pulls, or inconsistencies noted. This 1975 Maserati Bora has an immense amount of enjoyment to offer, for it presents in a driver quality state that can be enjoyed without the burden for worrying about incurring minor flaws during use. Alternatively, it would be the perfect base for an easy cosmetic restoration back to its interesting original colors. Mechanically, it is well sorted and performs flawlessly making it the perfect sunny Sunday afternoon driver that has been well tended to. The Bora came about during a revolutionary period for cars and possesses the elements that qualify it as a 70’s supercar but omits the majority of the inconveniences that similar cars like the Countach have. The example on offer is the more desirable 4.9L model, awarding it much more growth potential. The car on offer would make a fantastic and interesting driver or a sturdy foundation to launch a restoration to bring it up to a concours quality example. The original books, tools, spare and Maserati Certificate of Origin are offered with this sale.

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1973 MASERATI BORA, EQUIPPED WITH ITS FACTORY 4.9L ENGINE MATCHING NUMBER. I AM SELLING THIS CAR FOR A FRIEND OF MINE SO ALL PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE DIRECTLY TO THE CURRENT REGISTERED OWNER ON TITLE.THIS CAR SPENT SEVERAL YEARS IN STORAGE UNTIL IT WAS PURCHASED BY THE CURRENT OWNER, APPROXIMATELY 6 YEARS AGO. WHILE HE OWNED IT, THE CITROEN HYDRAULICS WERE REPLACED WITH THE MORE CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM THAT WAS USED ON THE LATE MERAK SS. HENCE, THE BRAKE BOOSTER FROM A MERAK SS WERE USED INSTEAD OF THE ORIGINAL SETUP. ALL ORIGINAL PARTS ARE INCLUDED WITH THE CAR SHOULD THE PURCHASER FEEL IT NECESSARY TO CONVERT THE CAR BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL DESIGN. NOTHING WAS MODIFIED OR CUT. THIS WAS A STRAIGHT, BOLT-ON SWAP OF PARTS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER FELT THAT IT WAS MORE PRACTICAL TO USE CONVENTIONAL BRAKES SINCE HE INTENDED TO DRIVE THE CAR ON A WEEKLY BASIS, TO WORK AND BACK, WHICH HE DID---FOR 6 YEARS, ADDING ROUGHLY 10K MILES. DURING THAT TIME, THE CAR WAS RESPRAYED AND THE SEATS REUPHOLSTERED. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, THE PAINT JOB IS A 10-FOOTER. ALL PANELS WERE RESPRAYED, SAVE FOR THE DOOR JAMB. NO RUST OR SIGN OF ACCIDENT WAS FOUND DURING THE PREP WORK. ALL DOORS, HOOD AND REAR CLIP WERE TAKEN DOWN TO BARE METAL. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE MILEAGE IS ACCURATE. THE ODOMETER CURRENTLY READS 25K MILES AND WHEN THE PREVIOUS OWNER PURCHASED IT, IT READ 16K MILES. MECHANICALLY THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES NICELY. IT HAS DEMONSTRATED STRONG OIL PRESSURE---WHETHER THE ENGINE IS COLD OR WARM. A COMPRESSION TEST WAS DONE LAST WEEK AND ALL CYLINDERS AVERAGED 150PSI ENGINE COLD +/- 10%. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BORA THAT YOU CAN DRIVE ON A DAILY BASIS AND DON'T WANT TO WORRY ABOUT THE CITROEN BRAKES FAILING AT THE WRONG TIME, THIS CAR IS FOR YOU. AND IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A DRIVER, NOT A SHOW CAR, A VINTAGE VEHICLE YOU CAN ENJOY WITHOUT FEAR OF SCRATCHING ITS EXPENSIVE PAINT JOB, THEN THIS CAR IS FOR YOU TOO. THIS BORA IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION AT ANY TIME DURING THE AUCTION. YOU ARE WELCOME TO TAKE IT ON A TEST DRIVE OR TO YOUR LOCAL SHOP TO HAVE YOUR PERSONAL MECHANIC HAVE A LOOK AT IT. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER THE AUCTION HAS ENDED.

Modena - U.S. Specification Bora 4900 Complete with Maserati Classiche Documentation & Original Delivery Forms In 1970, Maserati returned to the mid-engine concept it had considered earlier in the 1960s and in March of 1971, the all-new Bora debuted at Geneva. It featured a sporty but comfortable cabin with air conditioning and an innovative chassis. The Citroen-based, high-pressure hydraulics controlled the windows, pop-up headlights, adjustable seats and pedal box, as well as the ventilated disc brakes. With its 320-hp, 4,930-cc mid-engine V-8 and five-speed manual transmission, the Bora was capable of 0- to 60-mph times in 6.6 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 160-mph. According to the Maserati S.p.A. Classiche Depart of Modena, this menacing Maserati Bora 4.9 was completed to U.S. specifications in "Nero" (black) paint adorned over "Red" Connoly Leather interior with Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio and Series 1 parts supplied. The order for this car, chassis # AM.117.562 was placed by the Grossman Motor Car Corporation with delivery destination to Maserati Automobiles, INC. in Los Angeles, California. All verified by the Certificate of Origin, Delivery Note, End of Line Data Sheet, Final Tests Data Sheet and Technical & Aesthetic Characteristics. The extensive records of service history, chronicles the car as being owned by a Colorado collector as early as 1992. Between 2000-03 he commissioned a major engine-out servicing, performed at Apple Motors, a top Italian car service center. In 2005-06 the Bora was sold to a noted Palm Spring, CA Maserati collector John Boccardo who would enjoy the car in sunny California before entrusting it to Dino Motors of San Mateo, CA to perform a complete engine rebuild from 2007-08. The next major servicing came in 2011 when DGR Performance of Oceanside, CA rebuilt/replaced the suspension bushings, ball joints, hydraulic pump, and installed a completely new exhaust in muffler. It is important to note that since its last major engine rebuild this car has accumulated only 3,000 miles, with all documents included in the sale. Today the car remains a top of line driver that would be an ideal entry into several concours events such as Concorso Italiano and Italian car festivals. With attractive factory colors, exceptional service/ownership history and Maserati Classiche documentation, this 4.9L Maserati Bora is a rare sight in today market and represents a tremendous opportunity for any collector. $223,500.00 Offers Welcomed Full Resolution Photos: 1973 Maserati Bora 4.9L Coupe To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or [email protected] SELLING YOUR CAR? In 1971 Maserati introduced its first mid-engine car; the Bora. The Bora was to be Maseratis flagship model utilizing the V8 engine that had been used on the Ghibli and Indy. During this time Maserati was owned by the French company Citroen. Citroen had purchased Maserati to develop a V6 engine for their flagship car. That car was the Citroen SM. To expand their offerings in 1972 Maserati introduced the Merak which was essentially a “baby Bora”. The Merak uses many of the same body panels as the Bora, especially in the front of the car. The power on the Merak was the V6 engine which had been developed for the SM. In order to reduce costs the Merak was to use the interior dashboard of the SM and leather interior was optional. By 1977 the Bora was ending production which left the Merak to fill in the void of Maserati’s flagship sports car. The Merak received a major overhaul and was renamed Merak SS. The engine increased in power and was upgraded with better chain tensioners. Leather interior was now standard. More significantly, the very attractive Bora dash layout replaced the previous.Another significant change was that the Citroen hydraulic system which controlled the brakes was replaced with brakes similar to those used on the Ghibli. This particular Merak SS was sold in October 1980 and has only 14,000 original miles and essentially two owners (the third owner only drove it 20 miles). The paint and interior are original and, as can been seen on the photos, the car presents itself very well. Upon close inspection there is some cracking of the paint on the two front fenders. I was tempted to have a body shop repair these areas but there is something to be said about a car having original paint so I decided to leave it alone. Needless to say the car is accident and rust free. Mechanically the car is very strong. Compression on all cylinders is excellent: 1 – 150psi 4 - 145psi 2 – 155psi 5 - 155psi 3 – 150psi 6 - 155psi Oil pressure is over 100psi at 3,000 rpms with oil at normal operating temperature. 5 speed gearbox shifts very smoothly. All gauges in working order, including the clock. The AC fan is working but does not blow cold. Interior lights, headlights, wipers, radio, electric antenna, electric windows are in working order Undercarriage is clean and you can see most of its original gold cad plating still intact in the suspension and brake parts. The following service was recently done: - Carbs were overhauled - New Euro exhaust manifold installed (USA thermal reactors are really bad) - New distributor cap and spark plug wires - Engine oil and UFI filter - New air filter - New fuel filter - New Continental tires - Replaced fuel lines - New battery - Top chain tension checked - New radiator fans thermo switch - Oil sump checked and cleaned Car comes with original User manuals including the Warranty booklet and window sales sticker. Car was priced at $40,775 in 1980; which is over $122,000 in 2015 dollars. Also included are the original jack and its complete tool kit in like new condition. I have most of the parts needed to convert the bumpers to the more attractive European spec metal bumpers. This includes new front and rear bumpers, new license plate lights, new front turn lights, rear valance and Euro quad pipe rear muffler. The buyer of this car will have first right of refusal to these parts, if not interested in the conversion I will sell the parts separately. If you like low mileage unmolested cars then this Merak SS might be for you. Feel free to call me if you have questions: 770-998-0923 Ivan Terms of Sale Buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance costs. Please only serious bidders. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME. I realize buying a car based on a few photos on an internet auction may carry some risks. The Merak was a smaller sports car carrying a longitudinal V6 amidship and with a 2+2 configuration, known as the “Baby Bora”. The Merak was introduced as a direct competitor to the Lamborghini Urraco and Ferrari’s Dino 308 GT4. Giugiaro was commissioned to design the Merak after his success with the visually stunning Bora. The new smaller sports car resembled the Bora from the front all the way back to the doors. In March 1976 at the Geneva Motor Show, Maserati unveiled the Merak SS. A lighter more powerful Merak now sharing the dashboard configuration of the Bora, carried a 220hp V6 and more conventional clutch and brake system. With less than 1000 SS Merak’s ever produced and being the most desired of the two models, these rare Italian thoroughbreds make a perfect alternative to its Ferrari and Lamborghini counterparts. This stunning 1978 Maserati Merak SS Coupe left the Maserati Modena factory in November of 1977 and was invoiced to the United States. The car has just come out of a long term storage and private collection in the Midwest, this incredibly rare Italian thoroughbred is finished in Blue Serra Metalizato over Rosso leather interior. Believed to have covered only 23,120 miles from new this Merak has had recent paint job and shows incredibly well with a completely re-trimmed interior in stunning Rosso. The dashboard is the original flocking and the center console is the original material still in remarkable condition. Most of the rubber seals have been replaced with correct matching parts and all of the mechanical parts replaced on the car were from a Maserati specialty shop. The engine has just undergone a thorough tune up and includes a recent valve adjustment, carb rebuild, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fluids, hoses, belts and a thorough sorting of the electrical equipment and wiring. There is a brand new clutch, a new water pump and pulley, along with new exhaust gaskets. The car has brand new Michelin XWX tires and the original Maserati wheels have been professionally refinished. The car starts right up and idles smoothly and free from any smoke. The car runs through the gears well and the engine pulls incredibly strong through the RPM range. The engine has a great note and has healthy compression numbers on all cylinders. The car stays cool running down the road and the carbs are all tune to proper spec. There is no rust to be found on the car or on the undercarriage nor does there appear to be any type of accident history or any type or repair work. The body is nice and straight and shows incredibly well. All of the electrical items appear to be working and operating including all of the gauges, all of the lights including the pop up headlights and even the original radio. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an outstanding and incredibly rare Merak SS finished in a stunning color combination. The car is accompanied with the original jack, parts and mechanical books, and original brochure. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. 1979 Maserati Merak SS, Low Miles, Beautiful Italian Sports Car. Much of the collector market has been somewhat static, but some of the foreign sports cars have been on the run in terms of limited availability and new collectors seeking them out, if you look today for a nice MERAK SS, will be very hard to find, or very expensive. On 1979 this car was compared with FERRARI 246 DINO, nowadays worth around $400,000.00, that means, those Maserati still forgotten. This Maserati Merak SS for sale is a very limited production in what we consider the most desirable color. Besides the wonderful design, these cars are known for their handling characteristics, the car has been kept as part of a collection and runs out just as it should. The Maserati Company, owned by the Orsi family, set out to not only remain involved in racing but to introduce a series production sport and GT car. Orsis sold out to Citroen in 1969 and soon after, the Maserati Merak V6 was introduced in 1971 and Italian styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro. In 1976 Alejandro de Tomaso took over Maserati and improved the Merak in 1978 by replacing the Citroen hydraulically-assisted brake system with the Bora’s ZF five-speed transaxle and larger wheel and tyre package, making the Merak a better balanced performer. Maserati’s build quality greatly improved under de Tomaso’s management. The three-litre Merak is a prime example of a great Maserati engine in a nimble and balanced chassis, with commendable driver and passenger accommodations and wrapped in Giugiaro’s styling, which has more than stood the test of time. The late model "SS" cars (like this example) use the much more attractive leather interior. Only 277 Merak SS were built with the Bora style interior, and are the most desirable. This 1979 Maserati Merak SS for sale here is fly yellow (original color , original paint ) with black interior. This car has 7.856 miles and was always kept in a A/C controlled garage. The car does have paint chips and the usual minor paint lifting around the wheel wells. If you have watched the auctions in the United States and Internationally you will notice that these cars are commanding great prices. With a little TLC you could have a great investment with this car and enjoy the pride of ownership as well. With only 277 of these built you will have the opportunity to own a unique and rare piece of Italian sports car styling. It would be fair to say that car collecting in general is divided into two major groups, the people that collect American cars and people that collect foreign cars. In the world of foreign cars, the cars that seem to be on everybody's bucket list are the two-seater sports cars. The Maserati in this ad could be defined as one of the most interesting and desirable up and coming Maserati collectibles that are out there. Rare Opportunity, Inspections are Welcome.. Please read the ad before “make a offer”. "Car is sold As Is. We encourage bidders to come and inspect the car. We will not accept complains if the car is not inspected, you need to consider that this is a 79 years car and we can not give guaranty warranty whatsoever. Buyer is responsible for Transportation."

1985 Maserati BiturboVIN:ZAMAL1108FB312480California carOriginal window stickerThousands of dollars in receipts for upkeepMIE front air dam installedVery rare kitDual exhaustItalian leather interiorRare wheelsSix-cylinder twin turbo engine on five-speed manual transmissionWhen Alejandro de Tomaso acquired Maserati in 1976, he had ambitious plans for the marque. His plan was to combine the prestige of the Maserati brand with a sports car that would be more affordable than the earlier high-priced models that had traditionally made up the Maserati range. In fact, Maserati ceased making supercars like the ones developed under Citro%26euml;n ownership altogether, like the Bora and Khamsin. The Biturbo was initially a strong seller and brought Italian prestige to a wide audience, with sales of about 40,000 units. Sales figures fell in subsequent years. De Tomaso also used another of his companies, Innocenti, to produce Biturbo body panels and also to provide final assembly of Biturbos. De Tomaso later sold Maserati to Fiat, who grouped the company with their erstwhile rival Ferrari.MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1985 Maserati Biturbo you see. We purchased this fine auto from a Maserati aficionado in California where the car has been since new. Purchased by the second owner in 1990, he owned the car until 2008 when the previous owner purchased it. Between the last two owners, thousands of dollars were invested, and we have receipts for nearly all of the work done. We have records that go back to October 1985 as well as the original window sticker. The Rosso Corsa Red paint on the car is in great condition and has been professionally resprayed with a base coat / clear coat. There has been a new MIE front air dam installed as well as a rear bumper kit which gives the car a very sporty look. This is an extremely rare and hard to find kit. The bumpers show no damage and are in great condition. The hood louvers are a great addition and look great.
