1989 Mazda B2200 LX ext cab 5 speed stick. 175,000? I had a "newer" salvage yard engine put in at 160,000. The salvage yard guy said the engine I purchased was supposed to have 90,000, but I have my doubts that this was true. It runs "just ok", needs a good complete major tuneup with a carb rebuild probably. It won't fast idle when it's first started, and it won't fast idle when you run the A/C. The body is pretty straight except for some small hail damage on various panels, a dent in the tailgate and a dent in the bed just behind the cab where an electric motor I was hauling came forward at a stop when I had to slam on the brakes because of a dumbass. The only rust through is on the seams and places in the bed where the bed bolts to the frame. There is no rust through on the exterior panels. I wax it every few months to keep the paint looking good. The pics I took make the truck look new, but it isn't. It's a very good looking truck, but it has some issues, like: The pin stripping needs to be redone, clear coat on the hood is gone, some paint fading, ect. The tires were replace around 1000 miles ago.. The brakes, clutch, lifters, water pump and oil pump were changed a couple thousand miles ago. It's the LX package which includes,: Factory A/C which works, chrome wheels, power steering, cruise control, high back seats with lumbar control, 2 tone paint with pin stripes, extended cab with sliding rear window, long bed, 4 speakers, intermittent wipers, ect. The interior is in good shape (except for 2 tears in the drivers seat you can see when the door is opened) but definitely needs shampooing. There are no dash cracks. I installed an aftermarket CD player with 4 Pioneer speakers. Pros: You can drive up, pay for it and drive off - no excuses! I'll have the clear title in hand. It has a hard time driving the interstate speed limit especially in the wind since it does need a major tuneup, but point it where you want to go and it'll get you there. Probably the previous owners drove it all the time at 60 MPH, because that's where it likes to run. There's no play in the steering and the suspension feels good. No fluid leaks. I change the radiator coolant every Fall. The oil is changed at 3,000 miles since I do use it mainly in town. Cons: The fuel gauge doesn't work and I believe the fuel tank has a crack around the seam. The tank doesn't leak, but it seeps (cost to repair around $150.00). When I fill the tank past the seam and it sits in the hot garage, you can smell the fumes. The drivers seat has a couple of small tears on the lower left side of the seat you can see when you open the drivers door. It uses a quart of oil about every 700 - 800 miles or so, but since I use it as an around town vehicle I don't think it's excessive. It hesitates a little, and misses a little when idling around town, but it runs better when you're on the gas. There is a crack in the windshield starting from the bottom center and it ran straight up and stopped 5 years ago about 12" high. It's legal here in Kansas, but you may want to check the laws of your state. When I bought the truck it had been sitting outside, but for the last 8 years it has been garaged and well taken care of. There is no expressed or implied warranty of any kind. These trucks are a favorite of those that like lowering them.
