1987 Mercedes 300D turbo diesel with automatic transmission. Converted to run on vegetable oil using a 2-tank Greasecar kit with additional modifications including fuel injector line heaters and adjustable fuel return line. The dual fuel system runs on regular diesel fuel or vegetable oil. The tires are like new - they hardly have any miles on them. It has a recent alternator, new battery and a new fuel pump. I recently had the fuel injectors out for service and upgraded some fuel system components. The engine starts instantly when you turn the key. The odometer stopped working soon after I bought it at around 165K miles and I estimate it has about 225K miles now. The paint on the top surfaces of the car is oxidized. The windshield has a crack on the passenger side. The A/C does not work.

Here's our 1992 Mercedes 300CE Sportline coupe. I bought this from the second owner about 6 years ago. What made this car the one to purchase was the following criteria: Southern California car, color combination, condition, few owners, original paint, always garaged, Sportline optioned (very few of these cars. They are outfitted with the larger wheels, faster steering rack, bigger stabilizer bars and lowered suspension). With a Sportline car, you are basically going to get the car fully optioned. This car is only missing the rear window electric shade (which I have since then purchased, but not installed. It will be included in the sale).Since the initial purchase, I have replaced quite a few things to bring the vehicle up to near-new running condition and into the 21st century. Updates to make the car a better fit in today's world are the following: I replaced the original Becker radio with a Blaupunkt unit that includes Bluetooth and USB music input. This allows the owner to insert a USB stick into the connector installed in the glovebox; allows the owner to pair a mobile phone to the system and use hands-free communication and looks well-suited in the dash. I also replaced the front dash speakers with a factory-fit set from Rainbow that are true 2-way coaxial speakers, as well as adding a JL subwoofer/amplifier in the trunk that is completely removable if the space is needed. The sound system is fantastic at this point. The interior rear-view mirror was another item I replaced with a mirror specifically built for the W124 cars that offers automatic dimming, a compass and has 3 Homelink programmable buttons on it. Great upgrade. On the outside, I replaced the original headlight/turn signal configuration with the glass european headlights and clear corner markers. I even installed the adjustable headlight switch assembly inside the car so the headlight aim can be adjusted for cargo load. Something the US cars were never offered with. I removed the headlight wipers as I believe they clutter the car. Around back, I installed lightly smoked taillights, similar to how the later Mercs were done. With regards to service, what comes to mind is the automatic transmission and the torque converter, fuel injectors, entire ignition system as well as the ignition computer, coil and flywheel pickup. Other items would be air and fuel filters, the fuel pump check valves and sensors. The original transmission was slow to engage reverse and was over-speeding slightly during shifts, so it was replaced. I will have to say, replacing the transmission with a new unit was a major performance and shift pattern enhancement. I have also replaced the brakes, obviously changed fluids and a handful of hoses. The car drives as it should. It looks fantastic. Paint is in excellent original condition. Interior is flawless. Everything is functional, including the seatbelt presenters (as seen in one of the photos). All the original parts (headlights, taillights, headlight wipers, Becker stereo, etc) are available and will go with the car.

If you've ever wanted to own an iconic and classic W124 Estate, here's your chance. This 1991 Mercedes Benz 300TE has been extremely well maintained and is a beautiful example of the classic Black on Palomino color combination found in so many iconic 300E's. This car is mostly original, from the paint to the interior and is in extremely good condition for its 26 year age. It spent some of its life in California and the entire time it has been in Illinois it has been either been garaged or stored. It doesn't look like it has ever seen snow. No rust on the body and minimal surface rust on the undercarriage. Paint is original and still shines bright but has some surface scratches and minor blemishes. The body is straight and in great condition aside from a few small surface dings on the tailgate and roof. Interior is 100% original and in great condition. MB-Tex seats look new and there are no cracks anywhere in the upholstery. The burl wood trim and dash panels have some cracks in the clear-coat, which is common in all these cars. The interior B-Pillars could use a reupholstery job to make the interior nearly perfect. Orginal radio was replaced before I purchased the vehicle. I purchased this car as a 3rd vehicle in early 2014 and since then have only driven it 1100 miles, usually for a Coffee and Classics or a short weekend get-away. All power windows, moonroof locks, and heated seats work. That being said I have replaced or repaired many of the major mechanical parts that were due for maintenance, all with genuine Mercedes Benz OEM components. Car runs and drives beautifully as a Mercedes Benz should. Happy to answer any questions and showings can be arranged in the Chicago area. Happy bidding on this classic German Estate!

This 300D has been my daily driver since 2008. I have done a complete work through of the entire car which is referenced in the picture of the excel spreadsheet maintenance tracker. Although the mileage is almost at 229k, any professional diesel mechanic would tell you that with all the preventative and preemptive work that I've done or had done, this car will outlast most brand new gas burning cars on showroom floors today! For a fraction of the cost of a new car, you get to cruise around in a classic Mercedes at 26-27 miles per gallon while feeling safe in this full, heavy gauge steel body that doesn't have any rust. Here are some highlights of maintenance items completed: -Compression test in 2009: all 5 cylinders greater than 300psi (excellent) -New Timing Chain and Tensioner -New Valve Stem Seals -New Front Crank Seal -All gaskets and O-rings in engine compartment -All fluids/filters replaced regularly -All new rubber components throughout entire drivetrain -All new joints/bearings for entire steering and suspension system -New Paint in 2009 (shows some light sun damage now that would probably buff out) -A/C converted to R-134 with new compressor in 2010 (needs a recharge and new drier but works) -Rear seat reupholstered and front seats re-stuffed in 2012 -New front windshield -New front and rear windshield seals and all 4 doors and trunk seals all new-Rebuilt front brake calipers, new master cylinder, new brakelines and fluid flush/bleed in September 2015 There is more but too much for me to keep typing. I can provide more info if you like but you really just need to come drive this to appreciate it. I have a whole binder of receipts that all reflect the work annotated in the excel tracker picture. I don't really want to get rid of it but I have two other Mercedes diesels that take too much of my time plus the military told me I have to move so I offer you this deal. Thanks and have a good one!

Hi there! For sale is my little Baby! I am looking for a new project. This car has been a deam of a car. We have replaced the door bottoms due to rust, which apparently was pretty common as the weep holes weren't there or were clogged. I have replaced the temperature controls on the dash, (almost $2,000) which is an updated system. New paint, replaced rear bumper as it corroded, and some other minor repairs. Over all the car runs and drives fantastic. I am certainly going to buy another project car. Tires are about 30 to 40 percent. Transmission is normal operating for a 300D (W123). Interior is great. Ther is one mark on the seat that is about the size of 2 dimes next to eachother, that is just a discoloring on rear seat. Some cracking but not huge on a couple pieces on the wood, but just the clear coat. The driver side door storage is cracked in one spot. aside from that everything is great! I had a professional vintage car appraiser give me an appraisal. He said it was worth $13,000 - $15,000. Please feel free to ask any questions. Have a great day! Steve P.S. Please feel free to call me with any questions. I am best reached at 715-212-6434. Please do not email. Thank you!

Please scroll down to see many high resolution photo's. Here is a once in a life time opportunity to own this amazing 1978 300 sd with only 36 k original miles . I purchased the car from the original owners estate. He passed away about 2 years ago. He was from Austria and also a Mercedes mechanic. This car was his baby. It was always stored in a climate controlled garage and shows 100 % rust free. . The Black Paint is stunning and shines like new. It's all Original paint except for the driver's rear door I had re painted do to a scratch that was on the car since 1984 . It looks excellent paint matches 100 % . Otherwise Paint is original and excellent , No checking or cracking and it shines like new. The palamino interior is Stunning. It's as nice as when he purchased it in 1978 . I would say it's still brand new. There is no wear in the seat's , They are very firm when you sit in them and the carpets. door panels ,headliner are all pristine. The wood is also pristine with no cracks whatsoever. The dash is like it was new. Perfect with no cracks . He ordered this car brand new and he was very tall so it does not have a sunroof which gives you a lot of headroom in the car.Inside the car you will find everything to be working properly. The power window's , all the lights are nice and bright in the cluster and switches, and the cruise does work as well but sometimes it doesn't its because it hasn't been used in forever. The radio and power antenna also work perfect. When i brought the car home I serviced it with my dad and we went through the entire car from front to back. Here is what I did. New Battery , new brakes, new brake lines, New valve cover gasket, new fuel lines , new fuel filters, New air filter. The tires are new they are Good year all season . The Ac is also brand new. I converted it to 134 and its ice cold Switch the climate control to heat and its hot. The Servo works perfectly. . New compressor dryer etc. The car starts right up and idles like a watch. It has awesome power and holds the road amazing. Mechanically she is super sound. the suspension is very tight and makes no noises whatsoever. I drove the car from Wi to florida and it drove like a dream. I averaged about 35 mpg and it was very comfortable. The car got a ton of compliments on my way home. People couldn't believe its condition and low miles. I have sold many cars on ebay and also many diesels. I usually would polish the engine compartment but I wanted to leave this car in it's original state, The engine is very clean as you will see and doesn't leak any oil. Underneath the car it's as nice as the outside. There is no rust anywhere and the suspension is nice and clean . The exhaust is also in excellent condition as you will see in the pics. The 116 chasis car is considered the best diesel ever made. The dual bumpers. The low stance and the comfort of the interior truly make this car exceptional in every way. I am pricing it less then you can buy a new honda or nissan or even a New Mercedes C class. This car will outlast all of them and only rise in Value. Its the best colot combination and truly screams out Classy. Please read my feedback as I take pride in selling great cars. Calling all collectors! For those of you that have been waiting for the emergence onto the market of that rarest of automotive beasts, the car that seems to have been locked in a time capsule for most of it's life, look no further! It has arrived! This 1980 Mercedes Benz 300SD is just such a car. A splendid combination of faithful maintenance and careful preservation has yielded this example that is about as close as you can get to going back to 1980 and buying one of these from the dealer. Personally, I just cannot get over the condition of this car as I have not seen one this clean and nice since the 80's! Let us begin with the exterior, which admittedly comes the closest to showing the cars age, although nowhere near it's actual 35 years but closer to 5! This always in California car is, as you would expect, totally rust free. The majority of the car is wearing it's factory original paint although I was told that the hood and the front fender were painted at some point afterwards. The color in itself is a rare find. Finished in Mercedes Benz color DB479 (Walnut Brown) which apparently was available only on the 300SD in the model year of 1980, it appears that not many of these were finished in that color and today even fewer have survived. The paint truly looks remarkable from even 5 feet away, but upon super close inspection, there are a number of rock chips, blemishes and scrapes with the worst being what appears to have been a side swipe with a pole done to the driver's side rear wheel well. Still, this paint has held up remarkably well for being as old as it is and it still has a mirror finish, thanks to a recent coat of wax that was applied. The factory original bundt wheels look new. I see no curb rash, no loss of clear coat. The chrome is bright and has no pitting and/or other damage other than a few light scratches to the rear. Now, on to the interior, which is possibly my favorite aspect of this car short of the incredible driving experience to be had. This interior is very, very close to flawless. 98 points on a 100 scorecard all day long in the originality category. The high degree of preservedness first hits you when you open the car door and you catch a whiff of that smell well known to vintage Mercedes collectors: the genuine leather aroma! Yes, this survivor could not be better as it was delivered with ALL factory options including full leather seating in bamboo leather. In those days, they didn't just skimp on the leather and only put it directly on the seat and where your back touches, but generously all the way around the seat frame is this wonderfully patinaed Mercedes leather. With the exception of two minor creases on the driver seat, these seats will make you think IT IS 1980 again. Just perfect. Strong, supple and comfy, they are superb! And the same goes for virtually the entire interior with the headliner, door panels, wood and even the rear package shelf being WAY above average. Very untypical of these models with this type of age, this car's wood is shiny, not faded and without cracks. The dark brown dash is almost perfect, with the exception of a hairline crack alongside the bulge of the top of the instrument cluster. Carpets still have lots of wear left. Now, as mentioned before, this car has all of the very few options that were available in 1980 as this was an "S" class sedan and was given most of the upgrades made available to buyer's at the time as standard equipment. Of the 3 options available, this one has them all: The full leather seating upgrade from the MB Tex, the Becker Mexico cassette radio/tuner with wonderbar feature and perhaps the most sought after option, a full power sunroof. Everything in this car works, including the clock. The Becker Mexico was taken out and sent to the Becker factory in New Jersey for a rebuild and now functions exactly as is should. To give the new buyer the full time capsule experience, I am including a cassette of Abba's greatest hits, which sounds remarkably well played through the Becker Mexico system and the 4 speakers int he car. And as you drive along listening to Abba, you will have no trouble maintaining just the prime temperature in your 300SD as the often troublesome servo unit has also been removed and rebuilt so that the often tricky climate control is a welcome feature to your everyday motoring, functioning properly on all selections as it should. ICE COLD A/C! The main oil cooler hose and other smaller hoses have recently been replaced. Finally, the drive itself. With 149,200 documented miles on a working odometer, this car drives and handles exactly as you would expect and want. There really is not much to say. It starts right up every time, has adequate power even before the turbo kicks in and when it does, you're off! I live in hilly California, and I zoom up the hills to get home 2, 3 or 4 times a day. I can easily keep up with the sea of Priuses that surround me. I purposely over-accelerated past a so called "Smart" car to let her know that elegance and beauty always take precedence over youth! I had no trouble watching her shrink in my rear view mirror. Good riddance!Lastly, I welcome one and all to come , inspect and drive this beautiful machine in person for only then can the true love affair with it begin. Disclaimers! This car is sold as-is where- is. It is 35 years old and does not have a warranty of any kind. By placing a bid to become the next owner of this car, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms. Finally, I reserve the right to end this auction early and/or cancel all bids on sale day as this car is advertised on other venues. May the best person win!

THIS IS A REALLY SOLID CAR, NOT A RUST BUCKET LIKE MANY YOU SEE. TITLE IS CLEAR AND IN MY POSSESSION. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL BOOKS. THERE ARE MAINTENANCE RECORDS THROUGH 215,000 MILES. RUNS SMOOTH AND QUIET. THE BIGGEST ISSUE I SEE IS THE ONLY POWER WINDOW THAT WORKS IS THE DRIVERS WINDOW, THE REAR RIGHT ONE IS STUCK DOWN, THE OTHERS ARE STUCK IN THE UP POSITION. ENGINE CRANKS EASILY, AND RUNS GREAT, TRANSMISSION SHIFTS NICELY. THE AC EVEN WORKS, THE SUNROOF WORKS, THE CRUISE DOES NOT. WHAT THIS IS IS A VERY SOLID CAR THAT WITH A LITTLE BIT OF $ AND WORK YOU COULD HAVE A REALLY NICE CAR. FLY IN AND DRIVE THIS CAR HOME! I DID NOT EVEN CLEAN THIS CAR UP, WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET, CLEARCOAT IS PEELING IN PLACES, TIRES ARE GOOD, FRONTS MATCH, REARS MATCH, BUT THEY ARE DIFFERENT TIRES FROM FRONT AND REAR. BATTERY IS GOOD IN THE CAR. I HAVE YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF IT RUNNING AND DRIVING. I WILL ASSIST YOU WITH SHIPPING IF NEEDED. I WILL ALSO BE GLAD TO BRING THIS CAR TO THE GSP AIRPORT (GREENVILLE/SPARTANBURG SC) WHERE YOU CAN FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME. KEEP IN MIND, THIS IS A 33 YEAR OLD CAR, IT IS NOT PERFECT BY ANY MEANS, IT IS GOING TO NEED LITTLE THINGS HERE AND THERE I AM SURE, I HAVE REPRESENTED IT AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE, HOWEVER, IT SEEMS TO BE A SOLID RUNNING AND DRIVING CAR. I PERSONALLY DROVE IT 85MPH TODAY, VERY SMOOTH RIDE AND TIGHT FRONT END. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM A FINANCE COMPANY, THE STORY I WAS GIVEN IS IT WAS OWNED BY ONE FAMILY MEMBER FOR MANY YEARS, AND WAS GIVEN TO ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER IN JANUARY OF 2015, THE PERSON IT WAS GIVEN TO FELL ON HARD TIMES AND BORROWED MONEY AGAINST THIS CAR AND WHEN THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE PAYMENTS THEY VOLUNTARILY SURRENDERED IT TO THE FINANCE COMPANY I BOUGHT IT FROM. MY DAD DROVE IT 20 MILES TO GET IT HERE AND IT DID GREAT. I HAVE PRICED THIS CAR TO SELL. BY THE WAY, PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING AT THESE ON EBAY AND THEY ARE 30 YEARS OLD WITH 110,000 MILES SHOWING, KEEP IN MIND THESE TITLES ON CARS MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD THE TITLES ARE MARKED "MILEAGE EXEMPT" AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF UNSCRUPULOUS DEALERS OUT THERE IF YOU CATCH MY DRIFT. IF YOU WANT ME TO CALL YOU EMAIL ME YOUR NUMBER I WILL BE GLAD TO DO SO. FULL PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS, I WILL ONLY ACCEPT CASH IN PERSON, BANK WIRE, OR CASHIERS CHECK, PAYPAL WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED FOR THE DEPOSIT.THANKS
