1967 mercury Cougar - FE LINE . I have spent many hours working on this car with intentions of keeping if for a long time but life plans change. This car spent it's life in Walla Walla washington until I acquired it in 2006 from West Coast Classic Cougars. I built this car with a period correct mild performance theme. Other than the 275-50 BFG's out back and Traction Master traction bars it looks like a stock nicely restored Cougar - until you see the 6.5L badges on the sides. That is when your attention picks up. This car gets so much interest and compliments where ever you take it. So many people talk with you about their "Cougar story". I love the Mustangs Camaros and all of the rest but there is something different about owning something less common. - This is a great car to take to the cruise-ins or drag strip for some fun. The only time that I had it at the strip was on a 100 degree day and it was running 13.8's. After that I had it dyno tuned which made a significant seat-of-the-pants difference. I'm sure that it would be in the mid or even the low 13's on a cooler day. With some track tuning and experience it may do even better. - I spent a tremendous amount of time researching and finding the correct parts. I did my best and went to great detail to attempt a concours style restoration (with the exception of mods). Many hours were spent talking with experts enthusiasts and on the net reading and getting input from forums. All mechanical parts have been rebuilt or replaced (suspension steering brakes). The interior is all original with the exception of a sebring style leather wrapped steering wheel and 1967 Faria tach. I was fortunate to find some original comfort weave material for the seat inserts and had a local custom upholstery shop completely recover the front and back seats over new foam padding. The headliner is perfect. The carpet was replaced. The dash pad is perfect and the gauge bezels were re-chromed. The factory tinted glass is in excellent condition. The exterior trim was replaced re-chromed or restored. Much attention to detail went into this car. This isn't the one with the shiny paint job but dingy engine compartment trim or interior. You will put at least $20000 into a restoration on top of the purchase price and that is if you are doing the work yourself. You will have more than what I'm asking in a Cougar if you start with a $5000 solid rebuilder and it will most likely be a small block car. Since the restoration I have put about 1000 miles on it and never in the rain. I have a nice waterproof car cover (car is stored inside) and custom show sign. I also have the original intake exhaust manifolds carburetor core and more. The car comes with a full set of shop manuals Marti Report and reproduction window sticker from Marti. Lots of pictures included. I didn't get the Deluxe Marti Report but mine says that it is one of 717 with these paint and trim codes. How many of those were S code cars? These mufflers have a mild low . mid RPM sound level and are pretty lout at WOT. No droning or resonating in the car at all like Flowmasters. This car sounds bad! • Transmission . Fully rebuilt w/ Hughes 2500 stall converter (stalls up to 2000-2200 but drives like stock) shift kit. • Frame / suspension .
