I didn't try to remove this at all. This was my Grandmothers car; she bought it new and only drove it to the grocery store for years. Always garage kept. It is originally from Kansas and never driven in snow (means no salt). It has been sitting un-used for most of it’s 41 years. The body, paint, and interior are still in great shape. With only minor effort or cost this car can be brought back to showroom condition. The original tires still hold air, but need to be replaced since it was not stored on blocks.
