1989 Mercury Merkur XR4TI, Red, good condition, garage kept, has been in storage 15 yrs. Black leather interior in good condition. Automatic transmission, 145,700 miles, 2.3 turbocharged engine. Heated seats, AC, power windows, cruise control, sun roof. Serviced with Mobile 1 oil from purchase. One owner. Neutral switch on transmission does not work so will start in gear. Broken linkage on cruise control. Minor paint scratches and chips from road travel. Otherwise paint is in good condition and is not cracked or peeled. Tires are 2/3 worn. This car could be restored but probably would serve better as a parts car. According the the person I purchased the car from the engine was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago. This car has set for 10 years. The engine is NOT locked up and rotates freely. I installed new plugs cap and rotor as well as a new fuel pressure regulator and injectors. All four plugs show a good spark. It still seems to me like the engine is not getting fuel. I used a temporary fuel system to bypass that factory one and it seems the injectors are not getting the signal to open. It makes me wonder if a mouse decided to chew up some of the engine harness wiring. The exhaust header is cracked but there is another one that goes with the car. This car has a stainless Borla Exhust system on it. There is about a two foot section of pipe missing from it where it attaches to the header. The flange is still bolted to the header there is just that two foot section missing which is an easy fix. The running gear I was told is solid. The floors are severely rotted. I can't get the back hatch open. The interior is not in great shape. The body (other than the floors) is fairly solid. The doors open and close nicely. There are a a few rust spots and a couple dents and dings in the fenders. There are two sets of wheels that go with the car as shown in the pictures. THIS CAR WILL HAVE TO BE TRAILERED. Car is sold as is. There is no warranty. Buyer will make a $200 PayPal deposit upon purchase and the remainder of payment will be made in cash in person when the car is picked up.

Survivor Alert!!! This 1985 Thunderbird has made the journey! I am selling my 1985 Ford Thunder Bird Turbo coupe. I have had about 8 of these cars dating back to the 90's. This one is by far the cleanest and most original. I bought this car with the intentions of turning it into a race car but upon arrival I can see it's entirely to nice to cut up. This car needs to be with a true Turbo Coupe fanatic. The owners of this car bought it new in 1985. They remained the owners up until just a few days ago. They left behind a very well maintained and cared for car. Service records will show a history of pride. Some good things to note: 72,700 original Miles ! Sound motor with no knocking or tappingMakes 12 psi with no issues. Transmission shifts smooth and clutch is good. Paint has original shine and luster. Interior is very clean and complete. Car is 100% stock never modified from original. All door and trunk jams are in like new shape. undercarriage is RUST FREE! Whole car is 99.99% rust free. (maybe 100% but i'm airing cautious) Factory 10 hole wheels show some clear coat peeling Some other things to note: Some light dent/dings on the hood and roof. light dings on the sides. ( Paintless dent will come right out though) Window regulators or motors need replacing Slight noise coming from a rear wheel bearing or something. Couple chips in the windshield as to be expected. The sale includes: Body: · Poly Form Fiberglass Body · Stretched 2 1/2" through the doors · Door jams roughed in for swinging doors includes hinges and latches · Dash, floor, firewall, transmission tunnel, and rear bulkhead completed · Hood top, and track nose with polished aluminum grill insert · Aluminum windshield posts and windshield cushion/gasket · Model A headlight buckets Chassis: · Rolling chassis needs very little finishing · American Stamping Deuce Rails reshaped and boxed to fit perfectly to the T body · The body sits nicely on top of the rails in a highboy fashion · Boxed tubing k-member and all cross members installed · Hairpin radius rods on the front with a 4" dropped tube axel · Triangulated four link in the rear with coil overs and a 10 bolt (S-10) GM rear end · Motor mounts and transmission mounts installed · Steering box mount installed · Steering box (close ratio Datsun) · Disk brakes front (new from Speedway) · Drum brakes rear (includes compete rebuild kit shoes, hardware) · Bolt on steering arms · Brake master cylinder (pedals included see interior) · Willwood proportioning valve · Chassis is sitting on a set of S-10 steel wheels(nothing to brag about just for mock up · The tires mounted to those wheels are in fair condition and could be run on the car once finished · This chassis is set up to be low! Drive train: · The car is currently set up for a 2.3 Liter four cylinder Ford motor · The sale include three motors (one complete Pinto motor one Merkur XR4TI Turbo short block that has been completely rebuilt I have $900 invested in this short block and one additional Merkur XR4TI Turbo motor for parts) · Two sets of all of the wiring ECM sensors etc. I parted out two cars and kept every thing related · Two Garrett T3 turbos one is polished · Polished stainless steel Stinger Turbo header · Three heads to choose from one non turbo (Pinto) and two turbo (Merkur). None of them have had any machine work done but all three motors ran when the cars were parted out. If you plan to make serious hp numbers the Pinto head would be the one to have port work done to) · Two transmissions. A four speed from the Pinto and a T5 out of a Thunderbird Turbo Coupe (This transmission as been disassembled checked cleaned and reassembled the chassis is currently set up with the T5 installed)· Short throw shifter for the T5 · Aluminum Radiator including fan and shroud Interior:· Dash needs to be fitted to the car· Guages (Large Jeep multi gauge includes speedo, fuel, oil, water, turn signal, bright light indicator) that should take care of all vital info other than revs. No tach included, I also have a boost gauge to throw in· Two steering columns go with it one is tilt GM other is a simple strait column· Two different sets of swinging pedals for clutch and break one uses hydraulic clutch the other is cable (clutch master cylinder and clutch cable included)· Two different spoon gas pedals Special Features:· This car is set up to be very low!· The floor of the car is actually recessed two inches down below the top of the frame rails in order to sink the driver down inside the cockpit more· I am a big guy and when sitting in the car not much more than my head and shoulders protrude from the door tops. You WARE this car!· HP potentials of the turbo four cylinder can reach well in to the mid 300 hp range without much additional investment*· I estimate the vehicle weight to come in around the 1200-1400 pound mark*· This would bring power to weight ratios in line with a Bugatti Veyron! The car will crank but will not start without using a fuel bottle We drained the tank but think we have a relay out or a bad Fuel Pump. It will fire off and run if you hook a bottle with fuel in it. It just won’t pump the fuel up from the tank. Has a fuel delivery issue. Some of the rubberized undercoating is coming off. Paint on hood is dry and faded along with other spots too. So spots on the paint is checkering. Misc dings and chips/scratches. Back passenger quarter has a scrape/ding. Corrosion on the chrome wheels. Missing a lug nut on 2 different wheels. Little corrosion on doors by the rubber trim pieces. Wood on ashtray need glued back on. Excess tape residue on drives side. Carpet is faded a little. Driver’s seat is a little worn. Needs tires. It gives it more character and does make it stand out a little more than the others..;-) These little two door cars have a very sporty feel to them and handle like a dream. All of the Chrome is in Great Shape and shines beautifully in the sun. The wheel wells still have the Original Factory Undercoating. Mercedes Bunt Wheels.
