1979 MG Midget Nice original Maroon refinish about four years ago. &;Owned most of it's life by a local physical who took excellent care of it as his Sunday driver. Car was garaged in winter, so this is a clean relatively rust free car. Newer convertible top installed about four years ago. Original gauge work including speedometer and tachometer. Running lights and turn signals operate as they should. High beams operate as they should. &;Good exhaust system. Motor starts easy and runs well. Motor does not burn oil. Has a four speed stick shift trans. &;Clutch pedal easy. no chatter, but pedal a bit low and should be adjusted. Newer tires with 80% rubber. One year old battery. Two ignition keys. AM/FM radio works. Windshield shows some white around bottom edges, and has a small rock chip on passenger side. Nice clean Rust free original wheels with original paint, including spare tire and jack. Windshield wipers operate properly and have good rubber blades. Small area on front of hood needs attention. Car is registered and has a current NY State safety inspection. Solid rust free floor boards and trunk floor. Solid front fenders. Rubber bumpers good are in condition for their age. Brakes are weak and I intend to have them checked ( MG) brakes tend to get spongy when the car sits a long time. It will take a small amount of TLC to make this car stand out. It drive straight, although these British cars do track slightly different from American cars. I'm sure it can be driven cross country without a problem. Car offers excellent gas mileage in the 30 mpg range. This is a desirable British classic car that will only gain in value over time. I am relisting this car because even though it sold on E-bay, the buyer was unable to complete the purchase. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO TITLE. This car will be sold on a bill of sale only. That is how I bought it, and that is how I’ll sell it. It is pick up only. But if you arrange for the shipper to come, I will assist them in loading. I bought this car in 2005 as a retirement project, but I have not worked on the car since I bought it. The pictures show all the parts and pieces that come with the car. And it has been in an attached garage since I bought it so there is very little rust. This would make a very nice sports car if restored. I thought about putting a Geo Metro engine in it, since that engine has as much power as the MG 4 cylinder, but would get around 50 miles per gallon. There are two instrument panels, one that looks original and fairly complete, and one that looks like the previous owner tried to create a custom IP. You get both. I also have three windshields. There is the original Midget windshield, and I planned on changing to an MGB windshield so there are 2 of them, although one is cracked. There are active MG clubs around that can help you find parts. This will be a big job to completely restore, but there is a lot here, and the car is solid. It is just a bigger project than my skills can handle. I did do some investigation, and a GM V-6 will fit. I am selling my condo and moving, so if you buy it, you will need to come and get it within a week or two. Also, I am selling it to raise money for two people I care about, so please don't waste my time with lowball offers.

Up for grabs is a nice 1976 MG Midget convertible. It is a restoration project, as the engine and transmission are not in the car, and the interior needs to be restored. With the car you will receive TWO engines and TWO transmissions, as well as a manual and a number of parts. The body and undercarriage are solid! The odometer shows 12,281 but only has five digits. I am unsure as to whether the odometer has rolled over or not. This will be a great restoration platform for an original restoration, or a toy hot rod of some kind. I would encourage anyone to come and take a look prior to bidding if you are able. The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is, and will need to be towed to its destination. Originally a red/black, sidecutain, 1098cc, disc brake car. I bought it as a failed restoration project. I` ve had it right at 10 years and keep pushing it to the back of my garage. Not because I don`t like it, but because I have too many other projects ( I actually had three sidecurtain Spridgets at one time...........glad I`m normal. ). It`s basically complete. The only things I know that are missing are the exhaust system from the manifold back and the starter ( Last seen on a friend`s Midget. He borrowed it, installed it, and then promptly sold his car. ). I can`t see where there`s ever been any body damage. The only rust I can find is underneath the drivers side taillight ( Not below it, but underneath it. ), under the front edge of the hood where the chrome trim piece caught the water as it almost drained off, and on the two panels behind the rear fenders. A new top, tonneau, and interior kit ( red with grey piping. ) by Austin Healey Spares is included in the sale. Also included are a factory hardtop ( needing restoration ), two sets of Ace mercury wheel covers, and a few new chrome trim pieces ( MG emblems, grill surrounds, etc. ). I have extra bumpers, an extra hood, extra wheels, cockpit surrounds, windshield uprights. I think I even have an extra top frame. Basically anything I have that was made for a Spridget goes with it. It has a Georgia title. It is for sale locally. I reserve the right to pull/stop/whatever the listing if it sells locally. Transporting the car will be the responsibilty of the buyer.
