This is old school sports car that is always a show winner and head turner. Originally owned by Dr. Jerome P. Keuper who was the founder of one of the oldest MG Clubs in the State of Florida. Dr. Keuper founded Florida Tech and was its first president fronm 1958 to 1986. He was an avid MG enthusiast. This is always stored in a heated/cooled garage and started regularly to keep it on the road. While this is an older restoration, it is always one that people ask about. This car is complete. information from WIKI says: The MG P-type is a sports car that was produced by MG from 1934 to 1936. This 2-door sports car used an updated version of the overhead camshaft, crossflow engine, used in the 1928 Morris Minor and Wolseley10 and previously fitted in the J-type Midget of 1932 to 1934, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed non-synchromesh gearbox. The chassis was a strengthened and slightly longer version of that used in the J-type with suspension by half-elliptic springs all round with rigid front and rear axles. Steering was initially by a Marles Weller and later a Bishop Cam system. The two-seat car had a wheelbase of 87 inches (2210 mm) and a track of 42 inches (1067 mm). Most cars were open two seaters, but streamlined Airline coupé bodies were also made. The P-type was also available as a four-seater, a car that suffered from a lack of power and poor rear ground clearance. Whereas J, K and L-type MGs differentiated between versions with the use of numbers, with 1 indicating a four-seater (i.e., J1) and 2 a two-seater (i.e., J2), this was not the case with the P-type (or its six-cylinder sister, the N-type Magnette), and there is no clue to the type in the name.

We did not try to start the engine. Carbs are in place but probably need rebuilt. Trans; 4 Speed manual trans Body; The car is solid with very little rust. (See photos of the car when up on our lift). The fenders, hood, deck lid, rear quarters are reasonably straight with only minor dings from storage. The floor is solid and will need minimal body work. The car was imported from the UK in 1988, and kept by the same owner until recently, He brought the car to Tampa Florida and used the car up until 1994, when he took the car off the road to restore the vehicle to its former glory, it has been dry stored over the last 22 years and has had the interior completely redone to a very good standard, all though he never got round to the body work, Car starts on the button, and Chrome is excellent. Inside The seats have been recovered, New carpets and head liner and sun visors, Dash board and wood door trims are in great shape and i am not sure if they had been refinished or if they are original?, either way the wood is in great shape, Glass is all good order, no cracks, gauges all seem to work fine, and the inner chrome handles and trim are superb, door panels all look new to. Outside The paint is looking its age and is in need of a repaint Body panels all generally look good with no major rot or rust problems, Its 57 years old, so there is some surface rust and marks as to be expected, but as you can see from the pictures it looks ok, All the chrome work is there and is in excellent condition with no pitting and will clean up very well, both front and rear bumpers are exceptional and dent free, Head lights are in excellent condition and its fitted with some driving lights on the front bumper. Mechanical The MG Starts on the button and runs fine, and idles fine with no untoward noise or fuss, I drove the car approx 5 miles and it ran fine, 4 speed manual gearbox changed ok and brakes worked as they should, with drum brakes all round, don't expect it to stop like a modern car :) There is some extra parts with the car, See pictures provided, looks like a complete door and trunk seal kit, Front spare Lights, period radio and MG parts catalog & workshop manual, Also some interesting pictures of the car, from i would guess the 60's or 70s when the car was in England and some pictures of the original owner boating with family. Being offered for the first time here is a truly unique, 1959 MGA 1500 roadster fresh from a two year frame off restoration (347 Miles). Our frame off consisted of blasting and coating the body with POR – 15 as were all suspension parts. The inner body was also blasted to bare metal then coated with Herculiner for both rust and sound protection. The entire body has been sealed with epoxy primer and finished in Old English White with a very slight hint of green, only noticeable under certain light. Rising from the ashes and now being hailed as an MGA 1800 Special, a truly one-of-a-kind offering. This 1959 MG was built to be a super reliable, extremely drivable, better designed MG then the original architects could have ever imagined. Let's start with what is under the hood, consisting of a 1971 MGB five, main bearing 1800cc high compression engine. Completely rebuilt by William Thomas Roadsters, consisting of new pistons, rings, bearings, oil pump, timing chain and gears. Add to it a performance street cam, hardened valves, water pump, Petronix distributor, HiTorx starter, oil cooler, electronic cooling fan, flame thrower coil, Bosch 80 amp alternator and SU HS4 carbs with a polished stainless steel exhaust system. The extraordinary detail involved with this restoration becomes very evident just by looking under the hood. The engine is complemented by a Ford T-9 5speed transmission sourced from quantum mechanics with a custom driveshaft and stock MGA rear axle. Other drive train modifications include heat shields under the driver floorboard and special Moss motors cold air intake and custom hood insulation with MG logo. The wheels are tubless Dayton 72 spoke chrome with Dunlop 195/65/15's. The designer, A retired pilot, has eliminated the Lucas electrical system. The fuse panel, all relays, flashers, timers and other electrical components are mounted on aluminum panel located on the inside fire wall above the transmission tunnel. It is now called the central electrical panel (CEP)The generator has been replaced with the Bosch 80 amp alternator and the system is wired 12 V negative ground. The fuel pump is a modern electric type with a shut off switch located in the trunk. Our braking system has been updated to a duel circuit system, using a 1971 MGB master cylinder and pedal assembly. All steel brake lines have been custom-made and routed. The front brakes are discs using a Moss motors conversion kit that uses MGA rotors and calipers with stainless steel flex lines. The brakes are MGA vented drums. The pedal spacing has been widened from standard MGA set up to provide a more comfortable driving position. I will try to keep the body and interior description as brief as possible, simply commenting that it is a perfect 10 in and out. Our MG dashboard has been updated to Mark II specs for the most part. The 1800 interior is completely custom, seats being covered by a pretzel faux leather and piped in tobacco. The carpet is a German wool loop in bamboo, the dash cover is in matching pretzel to the seats. The transmission tunnel is lined with Dino Matt sound insulation and the rest of the carpet has been lined with a foil backed jute. The steering wheel is a wood Moto-Lita and the Tonneau cover is of the short type made of black canvas.
