Eric Lee (480) 483-4682 15650 N Northsight Blvd Scottsdale Arizona 85260 ? ? ? ? 1937 MG TA Vehicle Information VIN: TA1217 Stock: 5776 Mileage: 1,609 Color: GreenMint/Biscuit Trans: Engine: MPG: Drivetrain: ? ? ? ? 1 of 78 ? View Large Images ? ? Description We are proud to present this 1937 MGTA! This beautiful example is finished in stunning Green over Mint exterior with biscuit full leather interior. This is a documented #s matching drivetrain example and we have had the privilege of maintaining it in our workshop. This magnificent 37' MGTA is fully restored and in close to #1 condition. It's likely better than it was when it rolled off the assembly line in 1937! Winner of multiple awards at regional car shows. Here's some facts about the MGTA's: The MG TA Midget replaced the PB in 1936. It was an evolution of the previous car and was 3 inches wider in its track at 45 inches and 7 inches longer in its wheelbase at 94 inches. The previous advanced overhead-cam inline-four engine was now not in use by any other production car so it was replaced by the MPJG OHV unit from the Wolseley 10 but with twin SU carburetors and modified camshaft. The engine displaced just 1292 cc, with a stroke of 4.0 in and a bore of 2.5 in and power output was 50 hp at 4,500 rpm. The four-speed manual gearbox now had synchromesh on the two top ratios and was connected to the engine by a cork-faced clutch running in oil. Unlike the PB, hydraulic brakes were fitted with 9-inch drums. Like the PB, most were two-seat open cars with a steel body on an ash frame. A bench-type seat was fitted with storage space behind. The T-type was capable of reaching almost 80 mph in standard tune. Just over 3,000 were made and in 1936 it cost £222 on the home market, the same as had been asked for the PB. When first introduced the model was known as the T Type and only after the advent of the TB did the TA designation come into use. If you want the best of the best then this stunning 1937 MGTA is it. You will find it very difficult to find another example comparable to this. “For the English car enthusiast it just doesn't get any better!” Please call Brighton Motorsports @ 480-483-4682 or email us [email protected] with questions. The TF, unveiled in late 1953, represented a major evolutionary step for MG with its repositioned headlamps, new bonnet design, sloping hood line and raked radiator. TF 1500 has proven to be the most desirable of the T-Series cars as it marked the end of the series with more power and better handling. MG aficionados hold the model in very high regard, as they believe it represents the final evolution of MG's iconic and classic design. Outfitted in the ideal British livery of BRG over Tan leather upholstery, this particular MG TF benefits from a nicely mellowed older restoration. Today, it makes for an excellent driver or touring contender. The car shows evidence of much care and attention to detail and although the cosmetics have slightly aged it still remains a very attractive example. This example is striking in its attire, complete with tan weather gear including folding top, a full set of side curtains, boot cover and luggage rack. Its correct "matching numbers" XPEG 1500cc engine performs very well. The undercarriage has been thoroughly detailed and shows the quality of its previous restoration. Ideal for all around fun and enjoyment, this TF1500 represents one of the most desired post-war MGs and truly embodies the essence of British motoring at a fraction of the cost of its counterparts. $39,500.00 Offers Welcomed Full Resolution Photos: 1955 MG TF1500 To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or [email protected] SELLING YOUR CAR? The first generation TA introduced hydraulic brakes, better suspension tuning, a reliable and responsive pushrod 4-cylinder engine and a 4-speed gearbox borrowed from the Morris 10. After the war, production resumed and so did the evolution of the T series. Each successive model of which was imported in large numbers to an American market with an appetite for European-style sports cars. The TF sweeping bodywork, optional wire wheels and an inline-4 rated at 63 HP. Like its predecessors, the TF offered responsive road manners and superior handling, perfect for the club racing that became so popular after the war. This 1954 MG TF roadster hails from a private collection in the Southwest and represents one of the most sought after models of the MG brand. It features stunning red paint with a lovely black interior and matching top, all nicely accented with chromed wire wheels. The interior is classic MG: octagonal Jaeger instruments, folding windshield, an original steering wheel, bucket seats and front-opening "suicide" doors. The Garage Classic Cars, Inc. Is Proud To Offer The MG Midget sport cars produced from 1936 till 1955 are known as the MG Series T-Type Midget. The production was started in 1936 with the TA, after which the TB followed just before the outbreak of world war II. After the war in 1945, the production was continued with the MG TC. In 1949 the MG TD was introduced, after which in 1953 the latest model in the T-series was introduced, the MG TF. The production was stopped in 1955, 20 years after of the first T-type was introduces. The MGA was introduced in 1955, for which the T-types were the predecessor's. The first model set the stage for what the TD was. Because of the short amount of time from the inception of the TD to the delivery of the first cars, not everything was quite as the MG Car Company would have liked it. In fact they were still making TCs on the production line when the first TDs were being produced. In addition, other cars such as the MG Y-type saloon and the Riley RMA and RMB were also being made on the same assembly line at the time. This says something for the flexibility of the Abingdon workforce and of the factory.Apart from revised mountings, the engine for the new MG TD was the same 1250cc XPAG unit fitted to the previous model, the MG TC.There were many subtle changes to the TD, but most were unnoticeable to the untrained eye. One exception was the change from solid steel wheels to ventilated steel wheels. This change was essential because there were complaints that the brakes on the early cars were fading due to inadequate cooling. Another change was to stiffen the chassis by adding an internal steel hoop under the dashboard. This helped to prevent `scuttle shake', although the later chassis still seems to flex quite a bit when pressed into corners. The styling, Safety Fast engineering, The power train are just a few of the features of this cool collector car. This car is original and had been sitting in a gentlemans garage in AZ for a number of years (please see the old reg card dating back to the early 80's). This car was restored over a period of several years and was never on the street. The gentleman passed away before it was complete. All that was needed was a tach cable and a windshield wiper. All of the fluids were drained and replaced. A new battery was installed. The car has been driven approx. 100 miles and in 1 parade. The car runs excellent with no problems. It starts, shifts and stops as it should. No leaks or overheating. Great car for the MG Collector. No-Expense-Spare restoration, British Racing Green over Biscuit, Biscuit top, leather upholstery, rebuilt 1,250cc I4 engine, transmission, suspension and brakes. One of the finest examples of T-Series production anywhere. Spanning a production run of nearly 20 years, the MG T-Series has enjoyed a lasting popularity that few other cars can lay claim to. The original MG TA was introduced in 1936 with a 1,292cc inline-four under the hood and an open two-seater configuration. By 1950, the T-Series had progressed four generations from the TA, now referred to at a TD. Styling had evolved as every generation since 1936, if only slightly. For the TD, power came in the form of a 57bhp 1,250cc inline-four with a four-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. This 1954 MG TD is an impeccable example that has undergone a no-expense-spared, every-nut-and-bolt restoration. The car has known limited previous ownership and was owned by former New Jersey Senator Rober Littell for the better part of three decades. Restoration efforts exceeded $31,000 and yielded one of the finest TD available anywhere, bar none. During restoration, this TD was completely disassembled and the body stripped of the aging original finish before being professionally refinished in classic British Racing Green. All of the chrome and brightwork were also stripped and replated or replaced outright. The interior was likewise stripped and reupholstered with Biscuit hued hides and carpeting, and a new leather dash was installed with rebuilt instruments. A new Biscuit soft top was installed, and correct 15" steel wheels were added with polished covers. The same level of craftsmanship that was afforded to the body and interior was also applied to the mechanical underpinnings of this MG with extensive effort put in to maintain originality. The 1,250cc engine was disassembled and rebuilt, along with the four-speed manual transmission. Both are believe original. The car also received new wiring throughout, and both the suspension and braking system were rebuilt. This MG TD is listed in the T Registry and was also featured by SpeedTV in 2009. It is one of the finest examples anywhere, and is at the same level or better than a similar example that sold at Barrett-Jackson in 2012 for $66,000! If you're considering a vintage T-Series for your collection, you owe it to yourself to see this TD. Call 425.503.0980 for more information or to arrange a personal viewing. Looks great and drives well. Can be seen near Sandy Creek New York. . The MG TA Midget replaced the PB in 1936.[1] It was an evolution of the previous car and was 3 inches (76 mm) wider in its track at 45 inches (1100 mm) and 7 inches (180 mm) longer in its wheelbase at 94 inches (2400 mm). The previous advanced overhead-cam inline-four engine was now not in use by any other production car so it was replaced by a more typical MPJG OHV unit from the Wolseley 10 but with twin SU carburettors modified camshaft and manifolding. The engine displaced just 1292 cc with a stroke of 102 mm (4.0 in) and a bore of 63.5 mm (2.5 in) and power output was 50 hp (40.3 kW) at 4500 rpm. The four-speed manual gearbox now had synchromesh on the two top ratios. Like the PB most were two-seat open cars with a steel body on an ash frame but it could also be had from 1938 as a Tickford drophead coupé with body by Salmsons of Newport Pagnell or closed "airline" coupé as fitted to the P type but only one of these is thought to have been made. It was capable of reaching nearly 80 mph (130 km/h) in standard tune with a 0–60 mph time of 23.1 seconds. Unlike the PB hydraulic brakes were fitted. Just over 3000 were made and in 1936 it cost £222 on the home market. . When first introduced the model was known as the T Type and only after the advent of the TB did the TA designation come into use.[2] . The 1950 TD Midget combined the TC's drivetrain a modified hypoid-geared rear axle the MG Y-type chassis a familiar T-type style body and independent suspension using coil springs from the MG Y-type saloon. Also new were rack and pinion steering smaller 15-inch (380 mm) disc type road wheels a left-hand drive option and standard equipment bumpers and over-riders. The car was also 5 inches (130 mm) wider with a track of 50 inches (1300 mm). . In 1950 the TD MkII was introduced produced alongside the standard car with a more highly tuned engine with 8.0:1 compression ratio giving 57 bhp (43 kW) at 5500 rpm. It also featured twin fuel pumps revised dampers and a higher rear-axle ratio . Nearly 30000 TDs had been produced including about 1700 Mk II models when the series ended in 1953 with all but 1656 exported 23488 of them to the US alone.[5] . An example tested by The Motor magazine in 1952 had a top speed of 77 mph (124 km/h) and could accelerate from 0–60 mph (97 km/h) in 18.2 seconds. A fuel consumption of 26.7 miles per imperial gallon (10.6 L/100 km; 22.2 mpg-US) was recorded.[4] . In 1998 the rights intellectual properties and trademarks associated with the production of MG TD is acquired by TD Cars Sdn Bhd in Malaysia to reproduce the TD series as TD2000.
