I came into possession of this car through my grandparents, the first owners, who used it as a second car and later the primary car for getting around town. While I am technically the third owner, as it was briefly titled to my father before he transferred it to me, I'm the only one who has driven it since my grandfather. It was kept in a garage until I took possession of it in 2002, at which point it was parked outdoors on Chicago neighborhood streets. It has been back in a garage now since 2008. I have never needed the car to commute, so I only occasionally used it for errands or weekend excursions, hence the low mileage. The car is in good shape for its age. It starts on the first try and runs fine. The interior has seen very little wear, and still looks very nice. Since I've had the car I've had the brakes and transmission serviced, put on new tires and replaced the starter, all within the last 3200 miles (see the details below). It probably could use a good overall service and lube because I have rarely driven it more than a few miles in the last few years and it has sat for months at a time. It has some minor rust spots from its time outdoors, as well as dings and scratches in the fenders from city parallel parking. The hood, roof and trunk lid all have some scratches in the finish. I suspect it also needs work done on the muffler and/or exhaust line, because the engine is a bit loud and visually the muffler looks worn. The radio will not power on even though the fuses look okay - I think it's an electrical issue not uncommon to this model but it's never been worth it to me to address it. The antenna was broken off at some point. The car was also apparently in an accident in 2000, prior to when I took possession. Any damage was either negligible or it was repaired, as I haven't ever noticed any damage. I do not have any records regarding the accident. The breaks, rear shocks, alternator, and tires have been replaced recently and it would make a great commuter or starter car. The car has some rust on the side panels, and the air conditioning needs a recharge, but the interior is in great condition and it has been very reliable. Was garage kept for years & never driven in the rain but became a daily driver for a couple years since. Decent interior, not all ripped up, non smoker. Has some stains on the carpet and wear from use. Nice paint but has a couple small spots as shown in the pictures. (zoom in) Air will need charged but otherwise its good to go. Air Conditioning needs charged to blow cold. Drivers window goes up and down great but the passenger is slow so we never use it. Minor dings and scratches. 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Convertible. Auto, a/c, am/fm/cass, C/C, pwr windows, pwr locks, power driver seat, power top, rear def. Selling this car for my mother in-law. She purchased it new in 1985. She wanted a convertible so the dealer sent it out for a conversion. The car has been in the garage since I met my wife's family in 1997. I was told the engine was replaced in the early 90's at 96,000 miles, the top was replaced and the car was repainted. Even though it wasn't driven much, the car has been Pa inspected every year except last year and currently as the have decided to sell. This car is beautiful and drives great as well. Great little classic car with 40,000miles and new fuel system(Fuel pump, Injectors, fuel filter), new battery, new muffler, new platinum spark plugs, TPS sensor, IAC sensor, O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, intake cleaned, throttle body cleaned, new wipers, updated A/C system to 134a, recent inspection, recent oil change, tires have plenty of tread. AC system blows cold, heater blows warm, thing is a couch on wheels and one of the most comfortable cars i've owned for houston roads, even seats 6 instead of the standard 5 with the front bench seats. Gets great MPG and currently my daily driver so miles will be going up. Paint isn't great (still shines though), headliner could use some addressing, glass could use some polishing,dent on passenger side fender and some minor wear and tear (it is a 25yr old car after all) but besides that everything works and runs great and best of all it doesn't ever have to deal with emissions as it is truly a classic and a survivor class at that. It's the 2.8l v6 engine one of the early fuel injector and runs great, and pretty much all original minus an updated radio. Cheap to run, cheap to drive, cheap to own and has everything you need to drive all day in houston. Not in a hurry to sell but got a new car so looking to clear out some space. Burgundy, 4 door sedan, V6. This car starts on the first try every time, and runs fine. It needs a lot of small repairs, and would be a great car for someone interested in a fixer-upper with no serious mechanical issues. Selling because we can't make the repairs to plate the car in Virginia (it won't pass inspection in its present state). The car has been driven a lot, and has been parked street side, so it has problems related to outdoor parking and exposure to the weather - the door seals are bad, and rear window gasket is coming off. The headliner is toast, and is tacked up. There's pine tree sap drips all over the hood, and a very minor dent in the cab roof. The motors to adjust the seats have given out, so they can't be moved. The driver's seat has a split in the fabric, exposing a bit of the metal frame. There is antifreeze spilled on the passenger side rear floor, so the carpet would need to be carefully cleaned or replaced. There is a loose connection or short (probably a loose connection) which causes a fuse to blow within a day or so of its being replaced. This circuit controls the automatic door locks, radio, antenna, interior cab light, horn, and cigarette lighters. The antenna motor has been disconnected (a repair person's theory on how to solve the electrical issue - it did not work. It can be easily reattached). The flywheel is warped or slightly loose - a couple hundred dollar repair (or perhaps less, if you do it yourself) to prevent it from one day breaking and destroying the engine. Steering column is loose (but not completely broken - still drivable). The air conditioning system does not work - it's outdated, and freon is no longer available for it, so it would need to be replaced to have AC. The heater core and fan were recently replaced, although the fan was a bit jerry-rigged. They work. Some hub caps are missing, but the hubcap removal tool is still in the car for the ones that aren't. A slow leak in the rear passenger side tire was abated using fix-a-flat recently. The oil pressure gauge somewhat amusingly spins like a top when the vehicle is on, and does not work - but oil pressure has been fine. The gas gauge is a bit inaccurate, but consistent. Cup holder is broken. Dashboard ash tray hinge is broken - it's fine if you keep it closed, but will fall off if you open it. The passenger side mirror is broken. Cruise control may require some sort of adjustment - car tends to lose speed on upward slopes when it is engaged. We haven't checked the brake pads recently, but the brakes work fine. No fluid leaks we have noticed (but it has been outside). Oil, antifreeze, brake, and power steering fluid levels show no signs that the car leaks. Exterior lights and dashboard illumination all work fine, so no issues with night driving. She just needs some TLC to get her back into shape. I've listed every single thing I have found that needs repair. After all of that, the good stuff: This car is incredibly reliable. So much so, if we had a garage to store it in, we would be keeping and fixing it ourselves. If you check the ratings on this make and model, you'll see that it has great reviews. The trunk is huge.
