I have up for sale a 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. This car was owned by my grand father who owned an Oldsmobile dealership in Illinois. He has since passed and we are liquidating his cars now. He was the original owner. This car has been stored in our warehouse for the past 18 years. The car has no rust at all. The car has 49,900 original miles. The interior rates at 10 and the exterior about 9. For being a 29 year old car, you will not find a cleaner or more well taken care of car. My grandfather added the Hurst scoop to the car as well. It is blue exterior and interior with a full size matching spare in the trunk. The car is all original and has never been restored. The oil, plugs, pcv, coolant and brakes were just done. The tires are perfect and it runs like a dream. The car runs and drives flawlessly . A body-off restoration was performed in the mid '80s, when typical rust repair was necessary due to the car’s Midwestern origins. Body panels were sourced from a rust-free donor car and used to keep the car all-original GM sheet metal. After passing through a handful of long-term owners, this factory-air W-30 convertible was purchased by muscle-car collector Mike Guarise. Because of the significance of this car, Mike had the car restored again in 2014 to a much higher standard. This Toronado came out of a garage in the suburbs. It fires up and runs and drive. It looks like a bit of a time capsule which is great. The body was originally Provincial White and was resprayed some years ago. The new paint looks like hell up close but from 10 feet shes almost a looker. The body is pretty damn solid all around. See all the pictures caefully. As you can see the rockers are nice and solid. The underside looks nice. Couple small hole on low spots of floorpands. The rails and mounting positions all appear solid. The car doesnt appear to have been clipped or wrecked at any point. The front bumper looks like it might be slightly off center. The bumpers are in nice shape. As you can see we have lots of extra trim for the car (pictures). We left it off so you could see the complete body. Everything in the pictures comes with the car. The windshield trim is included (we pulled off the glass). This is a perfect complete restoration candidate. Normally we would restore a car like this but we are currently finishing a Toro GT and I dont need another project. The interior is pretty complete and original. The radio works, the seat power adjustments works, 2 windows work off the switch. All glass is present and good. The speedometer works! Wipers work and so does the power anttenae. The seats have some tears as you can see. The interior smells fine. I believe this to be the original 425 that came in the car. As I mentioned it fires right up and drives. The exhaust is rusted at the headers so it's noisy right now. While we were first running it we noticed the water pump let loose in front of us. I can only assume that having the car sitting for long didnt fare well for the pump. It did build good pressure and move coolant before the pump went. fortunately, we were standing in front of it so we shut it down right away. We only fire it up to move it so it has not been overheated. We put new plugs in it and cleaned the points in the distributor and it idles just fine. I believe it has the original carb. It runs off the fuel we put in the tank so as far as we can tell the fuel tank is still in good shape. The trans seems to work just fine. We pulled ip up on our trialer when we picked it up. This is sold off the pictures and description so please bid accordingly. Basically the only thing I ever need to have done is the rotors and bearings up front and I think the drum in back. Everything else is included under warranty.Has the AC idle solenoid relay to bump up the idle when AC is on. Hunted many a junk yard for it!Most the smog equipment is there, lacks EGR and Catalytic converter. Please check your local smog laws or make the appropriate changes. Steering column is rebuilt so does not sag! Edlebrock rear sway bar, with edlebrock shocks in 2011. F Body thick front sway bar and performance bushings and end links in 2011Lifetime front Springs from MidasG Body station wagon rear springs (stiff, but help keep wheels planted and you can carry a lot of stuff without the body dragging on the rear tires)Uninstalled Jeep steering shaft, sanded and painted, ready to be installed. The existing shaft is fine. Bought this as a performance upgrade.Including a 1980 Olds Service manualAlso included in sale of car Edelbrock #350-3701 Performer Intake Manifold. Painted SBC blue. Took off when engine was rebuilt. Requires older SBC heads. Will not work with Vortec Heads ($188 value) Currently License and registered in Indiana, clean title, but I am MOVING to Illinois and downsizing. Time to depart with my car. And now the "Bad"1. Needs a new or recored or radiator eventually, pin hole leak cooks off fluid, though not quickly, (easy-peesy to replace) new ones are around $120-$150 at Autozone. 2. Front passenger tie rod is worn and could be replaced, it will then need an alignment. The part is under warranty though, you just gotta pop it off and take it into Autozone. This issue does not affect drivability. 3. Headliner needs replaced ($130 or so online)4. nicks and scratches in the paint. you could take it to Macco...5. some rust in the rear quarter panels, pictured, could use some general body work. The rust is surface rust and the body appears to be solid. I have a video on Youtube you can see where I poke at the spot to show it is still solid. 6. One of the bumper trim cut outs on driver side front is missing. I have TWO new replacements, primered and ready to go. I am including those in the auction. The matching upper door panels to the above bucket seats8. lower plastic door panels in dark blue, in good shape, no sun damage. 9/10 condition. Boxed.9.
