This is one of 499 2dr ht Hurst olds produced in 1972. The Hurst Olds was the Indy Pace Car in 1972 and several other cars were distributed among their deal network as promotional models. The pace car decals were in the trunk and it was up to the dealer to install them. The decals are still available aftermarket. This car has lived it's life in Texas and has been stored in climate controlled space since 2008 that I know of. As with all my cars, they are driven and made to be reliable. The heads have been rebuilt and harden seats installed to accommodate unleaded fuel, the a/c has been converted to 134a as well. New tires were installed in December because of the expired date codes on the old tires. This a 1 repaint original car with original glass and panels, as well as interior. This is my 1969 cutlass S convertible restored into a Hurst Olds tribute. You can call me and make a offer or do a buy it now on ebay. The car looks new. The car has a clean Texas title in my name. I bought it in Dallas Texas over 12 years ago and I live in Red Oak Texas just south of Dallas Texas on I 35. The car has been stored inside my garage since I have owned it till I put it in the shop to be restored and is now back my garage at my home. I bought it to restore it in to a 1969 Hurst Olds tribute myself but due to my bad health I could not restore it myself. I am now 70 years old. I had to pay a shop that restores old gm cars to restore it for me. It was finished being restored in Dec. 2016. It took about a year for them to fully restore it frame off turn key. Every bolt and nut was removed and all of the parts of the car were removed from the car and taken apart. If needed they were replaced with new parts or used rebuilt parts or with restored parts. If there was any rust on the car it was removed and replaced with new metal. The body was removed from the frame. The car has new front and rear floor pans with new floor braces, new trunk floor with new braces, new rear quarter panels were replaced to be sure the body will be solid and sturdy for many more years. Both front lower fender had new sheet metal panels installed. The body work was completed using Urethane primer, sealer, paint, and clear coat. The colors are exactly as original cameo white and Hurst fire frost gold and the pin strip is black paint. The exact formula used for the original Hurst cars. All of the trim has been professionally polished to show quality on the front fenders, doors, and both quarter panel. The wheel well trim molding were also polished. New front bumper with a new 442 rear bumper with new front and rear bumper bolts and nuts. New Hurst sport outside rear view mirrors and new inside rear view mirror, new 442 grilles, new headlight bezels, new head lights, new rear wing on the trunk, fully functional new hood scoop, and new H/O 455 decals wrap up the finishing touches. It also has factory tinted door windows and new rear quarter tinted windows and a new white convertible top with a glass rear window. It has a new wiper motor. CONVERTIBLE TOP The old convertible top was removed from the car, frame detailed and painted black, reattached, and the new white top has 2 new top pads and 2 new springs and a new glass rear window. It has new rubber kit on the convertible top, doors, new windows felt on the side windows. The whole car has all new rubber kit. It has a new power top that has a new pump motor, 2 new jift cylinders lifts, 2 new hose lines, new fluid and works great. New bushings were used in all of the suspension components as well as new mounting bushings and bolts on the body to the frame. 2 new front springs and 2 new rear springs and 4 new front and rear heavy duty shocks to suspend the body for that new car ride. 2 new upper and 2 new lower ball joints. The steering components keep the car driving true. 2 new front and 2 new rear sway bars bushings keep the handling in check. The two rear lower control arms have been boxed together for strength. The power plant is cooled via a brand new aluminum radiator with 2 gallons of antifreeze. It has new belts for the water pump, power steering, A/C unit. Air breathed in is through an original olds ram air style OAI air cleaner housing and a rebuild carburetor. The rumbling exhaust exits the block through a set of very well fitting stainless steel headers through a new Flowmaster exhaust system and the 442 style trumpet tips. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION The power is then transferred through a rebuilt automatic transmission with new transmission mount controlled by a Hurst Dual Gate shifter. I bought it in Dallas Texas over 12 years ago and I live in Red Oak Texas just south of Dallas Texas on I 35. The car has been stored inside my garage since I have owned it till I put it in the shop to be restored and is now back my garage at my home. I bought it to restore it in to a 1969 Hurst Olds tribute myself but due to my bad health I could not restore it myself. I am now 70 years old. I had to pay a shop that restores old gm cars to restore it for me. It was finished being restored in Dec. 2016. It took about a year for them to fully restore it frame off turn key. Every bolt and nut was removed and all of the parts of the car were removed from the car and taken apart. If needed they were replaced with new parts or used rebuilt parts or with restored parts. If there was any rust on the car it was removed and replaced with new metal. This is a 1958 Oldsmobile super 88 four-door sedan. This car has been restored professionally by us, it is not a show car or a points winner. But it is by far one of the nicest drivers you will ever see The paint job on this car is like a mirror finish, you can see yourself very clearly in the paint job. Unlike some 1958 Oldsmobile you will see here on eBay, this car is completely original. It does not have a 350 Chevrolet engine and transmission, it has the original 371 cu in. Oldsmobile four barrel engine. This car is a truly rust free vehicle out of Texas. The floor pans on this car are 99% perfect. All we found was a little 4 inch spot that needed repaired on this entire car. This car has never been wrecked and has never been in a Salt environment. The car still carries a Texas title along with the original Texas safety inspection from the early 90s. Which was the last time this car was on the road. The fuel system was completely removed and all new fuel lines replaced from the gas tank to the engine. The carburetor has been rebuilt, we did add new electronic ignition to enhance the performance. The interior has been completely redone to match the car, it is a brilliant cranberry red metallic with an off-white enhancing trim. The stainless on this car is some of the nicest we have seen on any of our restored cars. Not perfect, but very near it. The bumpers are in very nice driver quality shape, not re-chromed but very very nice.We have changed the tire size from 14 inch to 15 inch rims and added 70s model wire wheel covers. We have found this enhances the drivability and ride of these cars. The tires are brand-new. This is a very very rare factory AC car, the AC is all there, it is complete. But has not been charged. This year model used the old R 12 refrigerant, And we have not had any of that refrigerant in many many years. We would suggest it be converted to the new system.We did not change anything because we did not want to change any of its originality. The lights all work in this car, even the back up lights. The frame and undercarriage of this car is absolutely beautiful in its original state. We have not sprayed undercoating or painted to hide anything, but will do so if the purchaser would like that to be done. BODYWORK/TRIM A factory-correct car that reportedly hails from the dry climate of west Texas, this top notch A-Body features a solid, all-original profile that's covered in clean, Classic White 2-stage. That paint, and the traditional gold stripes that complement it, is a direct result of an extensive, 3-year restoration that wrapped up in the Spring of 2015. And today, five figures in to the future, this 442 is a timeless muscle car that intimidates like a cruise missile and shines like the family's best silver. Oldsmobile's modernist, mid-century design aesthetic was no doubt a play on its engineering leadership within the GM hierarchy, and the cars that proudly carry those lines continue to weather exceptionally well. At the front of this coupe, a 442-specific grille centers monochromatic "442" lettering between stainless-trimmed T3 headlights and a bright chrome bumper that's finished with clear parking lamps. At the top of that grille, a fiberglass ram air hood leads the eye to like-new glass that rides behind straight stainless frames. At the sides of that hood, traditional GM door handles and color-keyed sport mirrors perfectly complement clean marker lamps, dent-free wheel rings and a slick combination of "442" and "W-30" fender emblems. And at the back of the car, a "442" branded decklid hangs a factory wing above a second chrome bumper, silver-trimmed taillights and correct, trumpeted exhaust tips. ENGINE Hoist this Olds' scooped hood and you'll find an original, 455 cubic inch Rocket V8 that's branded with a correct 396021F casting number and matching partial VIN. Professionally rebuilt and fully detailed, that red hot mill is a reliable, big-port big block that, in factory form, twists stout 10.5 to 1 compression into a quick 370 horsepower! Stomp the throttle and a restored Rochester 4-barrel mixes juice from leak-free fuel lines with wind from a correct W-30 air cleaner, and shoves it in to a Winters aluminum intake. At the back of that intake, a traditional points distributor feeds fire through proven Packard TV R Suppression Cables, which snake around correct "F" heads and stamped and painted valve covers. Below those covers, freshly restored exhaust manifolds shoot charred dinosaurs in to big, true-dual pipes. Mechanically, the stout engine is all day reliable, spinning 500 lb./ft. of rock-crushing torque from one of the largest and most powerful valvetrains ever created. Aesthetically, familiar plastic fenders and Metallic Blue block skin look fantastic against the car's clean body. There's a roster of high quality ancillaries that includes factory air conditioning and a correct Delco Moraine brake booster. And the entire set up flat out rocks, from its fresh decals and pliable GM hoses to its color-keyed intake springs and Delco-topped battery. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION The bottom of this awesome 442 is completely solid, showing no signs of undue wear or question-inducing battle scars. The aforementioned Rocket fronts an original 3-speed, which hangs a correct "70 - OW" assembly tag opposite a matching partial VIN. That tough transmission sends power to a stout, 12-bolt axle. That driveline pushes a familiar Heavy Duty Suspension, which, along with the car's chassis, was thoroughly marked and tagged during the detailed restoration. Solid stops are provided by rebuilt front disc and rear drum brakes. Turns come courtesy of a familiar Saginaw gearbox, which is piped to factory power steering. At the center of the floors, aluminized exhaust pipes funnel spent gases through baritone turbo mufflers. And everything rolls on charcoal SSIIs, which spin 225/70R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around polished trim rings and rocket-branded center caps. INTERIOR This impressive coupe's correct, well-optioned interior is so fresh it looks like it just rolled out of the upholstery shop. At the center of the car, stainless-trimmed seats ride on fade-free carpet that's protected by "442 W-30" branded floor mats. 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe Great Candidate for Reconditioning !!! Body is in pretty good shape. Does have little rust in couple spots underneath and on trunk. The Car will start with starter fluid and a jump, but will not stay running or idle on its on.I'm told that it will needs carburetor work. Interior is pretty rough. All the Glass, Lights, and Chrome Trim in Good Shape.All panels look to be original from what i can tell. It has a Texas Rebuilt Title and buyer info filled out on back.
