This 1925 Oldsmobile is about as original as you will find. It has the original tools, including jack and engine crank. The original pot metal distributor is in a bag with all the parts. It was replaced with a 1927 auto-advance distributor with a steel body. The carburetor on the car is SF1 Universal ($1,200). The original and functional Johnson H is also with the car. In 1924 and 1925 Oldsmobile was the first to offer dealer-installed options at additional cost. The deluxe sedan included the options with a higher sticker price. This car also has a dealer-installed tail light with \"brake\" and pedal activated switch and all four wheels have snubbers (three need new snubber strap). Mechanically the car is excellent. Compression is perfect on all 6 cylinders. It starts, runs, shifts and drives as a 1925 car should. The brake pads and wheel bearings are like new. The Firestone tires, tubes and wheel liners have less than 100 miles on them. The radiator is clean and I have never had it overheated. The upholstery and headliner are MOHAIR and in great condition. The original interior door handles are missing. The door hinges are a little loose but with some pressure when closing, the doors close fine. The paint needs improvement but it looks good at 20 feet. The gas gauge does not work but has a lifetime guarantee from Oldsmobile for fluid replacement at any dealer (as stated in the manual included with the car).

Runs GREAT! Clean Title, no leins. Like new tires with awesome tread. Airplane throttle style shifter (automatic) No rust. Underside is clean. Good transmission and breaks. The bad: Aircon doesn't blow cold. The body has been banged up (see pictures) Inerior of driver's side door needs repair but functional. The leather seats are cracked a couple tears but still functional. The interior roof fabric is worse for wear. Surprisingly, all the lights and signals work but there is some damage to one of the plastic lenses on the right rear. The paint is rough, especially on the top of the trunk, hood and roof. The driver side interior door panel has some damage. Damage to the left-front quarterpanel & headlampe (but the light still works) Damage to the right-rear lense (but the light works). The hood opening mechanism doesn't work and the hood won't stay up on its own. The radio turns on but doesn't tune.

In addition to trick aesthetics and a heavily modified suspension, this killer coupe mixes a rugged Tremec TKO600 5-speed with 455 cubic inches of Oldsmobile big block that makes roughly 500 horsepower. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind muscle car that's live, loaded and ready to launch, strap yourself in to THIS rocket! BODYWORK/TRIM During a 2014 rotisserie restoration, this solid Cutlass was entirely disassembled and completely stripped of its dull, original paint. After a bit of hard work, the car's clean body presented itself as an excellent foundation for a slick combination of BMW silver and Satin Black 2-stage. And today, one close look at our high-resolution photos reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one of the coolest looking GM muscle cars on the planet! Unlike most pro-touring builds, this Olds wasn't entirely stripped of its stainless and ornamentation. Instead, the baubles and bolt-ons were muted with careful powder coating that highlights the car's awesome 'coke bottle' profile and intimidating street presence. At the front of that profile, a silver grille hangs a vivid "442" emblem between bright halogen headlights and a Satin Black bumper that's complete with clear parking lamps. At the top of that grille, a standard hood leads the eye to new glass that's framed in straight stainless and reflected in vinyl-wrapped sport mirrors. At the sides of that hood, aftermarket door handles and color-keyed lock cylinders perfectly complement clean marker lamps and dent-free wheel rings. And at the back of the car, a vinyl-wrapped decklid rides above silver-trimmed taillights, a second Satin Black bumper, and stainless, center-outlet exhaust tips. ENGINE It's not immediately apparent why this coupe's body carries so much sizzle; that is, until you see what's under its hood. Pop the latch, fling the steel and you'll find 455 cubic inches of Rocket V8 that produces somewhere around 500 horsepower! Excellent throttle response and modern drivability are provided by a big Holley 4-barrel, which is piped to braided fuel lines and fitted with a black-cased reusable filter element. Beneath that carb, an Edelbrock Torker 455 feeds factory heads and giant cylinders that benefit from a .060 overbore. At the sides of those cylinders, ceramic-coated, long-tube headers push thrust through large-diameter, true-dual exhaust pipes. That thrust gets its ignition sequence from an aftermarket HEI distributor and JEGS 8.0 Pow'r Wires. In front of those wires, a blackened March serpentine system spins modern power steering and a chrome Powermaster alternator opposite modern air conditioning. And in front of that drive, a beefy aluminum radiator, which is equipped with a polished overflow tank and two electric puller fans, keeps atmospheric heat at bay. Aesthetically, the car's body-matched engine bay appears to be holding up very well. And items like an Optima gel cell battery, a familiar Wilwood master cylinder and custom-finished valve covers add a heavy dose of form and function. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION While you might think that monstrous engine is this classic's biggest selling point, some of its best hardware is hidden out of view. For starters, there's a tough Tremec TKO600 5-speed that keeps power up at the stoplight and revs down on the highway. That gearbox leads a rugged 10-bolt rear end, which hides tall 3.73 gears under a snazzy aluminum inspection cover. That axle transfers power to a Speedtech 4-link, which is complete with a Detroit Speed sway bar and QA1 coil-over-shocks. That 4-link pushes a Speedtech front suspension, which makes good use of traditional power steering and two more QA1 coil-over-shocks. That chassis' stops are provided by a Baer 4-wheel disc brake system, which employs four drilled and slotted rotors. The car's spent gases are ushered away by 3-inch pipes and great sounding Flowmaster mufflers. The straight, Satin Black floors are dotted with well-planned ancillaries, including Detroit Speed subframe connectors, a Powermaster XS Torque starter, a fabricated oil pan and a clean stainless fuel tank. And all this top-notch hardware rides on a slick set of Boze 3-piece wheels, which spin 255/40ZR19 Nitto Invos in front of 315/35ZR20 Nitto Invos. INTERIOR Like its exterior, this Oldsmobile's cockpit is a masterful blend of old and new that features the comfort and convenience of modern technology wrapped in classic Detroit design. The familiar front bucket and rear bench seats appear to be factory-correct and, along with traditional '72 Cutlass door panels, literally glow under our intense showroom lighting. Between those seats, a custom console founds a billet shifter in front of handy cupholders. Below that console, fresh red carpet stays fresh and red thanks to heavy duty floor mats. Has Built 350 Engine, 200r4 Trans, Bored over 30 with Comp Cam set, Holley Double Pumper Carb with Edelbrock Intake, coated headers, electric fans with aluminum radiator, Dualed out, 100 amp altenator, high torque starter, MSD ignition. Front Tubular a arms top and bottom, 2 inch lowered springs, rear tubular arms, 20 inch IROC Wheels with great tires (aggressive tread design). Car has 4 wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. Garage kept. I have the title and have owned the car for around 12 years. Paint is 9 years old, but looks great. I just noticed that my power steering reservoir or hose has a slow leak, but that can be changed with minimal cost. Car sits low (rubs sometimes if I have passengers riding with me), but I can include regular springs with the sale (easy to change). Instead of worrying about polishing the paint, you can just get in and drive and have ten times more fun than the guy fussing over his $20,000 paint job. Sedans are wonderfully practical and this Olds makes a very handsome rod. The burgundy paint is a big help, giving the big 4-door an elegant look that suits Oldsmobile's place in the GM hierarchy. It was built some years ago, so it's not perfect, but at this price you already knew that. And as I said, it's already been properly broken in, so you can drive it without worrying about bugs and stone chips, because this car has already seen it all. It still looks pretty darned good and all four doors open and close easily thanks to GM's first year all-steel body construction and a quality build. The rounded fenders and running boards have a wonderful '30s look to them and the streamlined grille and hood vents make it look sporty. Other neat details include the chrome bumpers, discreetly mounted turn signals and side mirrors, as well as the cool antenna on the rear deck. There's evidence of a thoughtful build everywhere you look, and that's what makes rods like this such a pleasure to own. If you've got a family, this is a great choice thanks to spacious bench seats. Wrapped in burgundy fabric, it looks updated but not too modern, keeping the '30s charm that is a big part of why you'd build a car like this in the first place. The dash is reworked with modern gauges from an '80s Oldsmobile and a custom lower valence with the vents for the A/C system and an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit. More clever factory integration in the A/C controls, which should look familiar to anyone who drove a GM car in the '80s, and a fat Grant GT steering wheel adds a sporty look. The seats are in excellent condition and nicely complement the gray carpets and two-tone door panels, and we especially like the use of a clock in the glove box lid, as original. Look closely and you'll even see a factory "OLDSMOBILE" logo on the lower dash, making this car look very OEM indeed. The trunk is spacious enough for all your gear, so go ahead and hit the road! The engine bay isn't detailed for show, but it's plenty functional thanks to a 305 cubic inch V8, 4-barrel carburetor, and as many OEM parts as possible. The idea was to be able to drive this car anywhere and by using GM parts wherever possible, service and parts will be easy. Edelbrock chrome pieces dress it up a bit, but this car's forte is driving, not sitting in a parking lot. The front suspension is from a '70s Nova, so you get power steering and power disc brakes, plus an automatic transmission for effortless highway cruising. Out back, an '80s Monte Carlo donated its 3.73-geared 10-bolt rear end, and a pleasant-sounding dual exhaust system gives it personality but quiets down on the highway. Pro Comp aluminum wheels look virtually unmarked and carry fat 235/60/15 blackwall radials. There's some clever engineering here and it was obviously built by an Oldsmobile fan. If you're such a person, this is a great rod at an awesome price, already broken in and ready to rock. Sandwiched between Chevrolet and Buick, Oldsmobile was a brand for aspiring buyers who were looking to move up market for the first time. This however, was quite difficult in 1931 as the Great Depression had taken hold and automakers were struggling to find buyers for their products – particularly anything with an upmarket appeal. Oldsmobile managed to market the F31 with a relatively low sticker price but it offered exceptional value for the money. At the heart of the model was the 197 cubic inch (approx. 3.2 liter) inline six cylinder engine. This smooth and torquey unit developed 65 horsepower. Backing the engine was a 3-speed synchromesh transmission which was a definite step up in terms of equipment as this relatively new technology was normally reserved for the likes of high-end Cadillacs and Packards. A variety of bodies were available that ranged from a conservative four door sedan to a sporting rumble-seat convertible coupe. Two trim levels were offered; Standard and Deluxe. Considering Oldsmobile had just one model to offer, sales were strong with 47,279 examples finding homes in the 1931 model year. This delightful 1931 Oldsmobile F31 Convertible Coupe is a wonderful example of this rare and desirable automobile. It is recognizable as a deluxe model thanks to the dual sidemount spare wheels and trunk rack. While the Deluxe Convertible Coupe is the most sporting of the F31 lineup, it is also a very well equipped car, with roll up side windows, a full convertible top, rumble seat, golf bag door and the aforementioned factory-fitted trunk rack. For the full sporting effect, the windscreen can be folded, transforming the little roadster into a sporty speedster. This fine example was a solid, sound and highly original car that was treated to a sympathetic restoration some time ago, which has been carefully freshened in recent months. The blue body over black fenders is a great combination and the paint is in good order with deep gloss and no major flaws. It is just starting to take on a slight patina that gives it a great character. The body is straight with good body fit, and bright work is similarly tidy, showing well with just a slight bit of age. It rides on a set of matching blue artillery wheels wrapped in black wall Firestone tires that give it a wonderfully sporty appeal. When climbing aboard, you are greeted by the original driver’s seat in excellent condition. Our restoration team has carefully cleaned and treated the leather to help preserve the original patina. The canvas top and boot have likewise been expertly cleaned to freshen the appearance but preserve the well-loved feel of this fine little roadster. Basic instrumentation is limited to a speedo, fuel gauge and amp gauge, all of which work and are in good original condition. A knob on the dash controls the radiator shutters for cold-weather running. Upholstery on the rumble seat is in very good condition with the tan cowlboard panels in fair condition. Our team recently detailed the flathead inline six-cylinder engine using proper Oldsmobile green paint and period correct hose clamps and hardware. The engine looks wonderful and this smooth running unit is very sound with no smoke or leaks and a pleasing burble from the exhaust. The original Stromberg DXR3 was a problematic unit, prompting a recall in the period. We have replaced the DXR3 with an early postwar Stromberg to return more reliable performance in all conditions. However, the rare original has been retained and will be included in the sale. The undercarriage is exceptionally clean and tidy, with no corrosion, solid floors and excellent mechanicals. Thanks to the smooth and easygoing nature of the engine and the slick-shifting 3-speed synchronized transmission, this Oldsmobile is simply a joy to drive. Recent service includes a full fluid flush, tuneup with new plugs and wires, a replacement carburetor, and cleaned and lubricated brakes. It is perfectly suited for weekend outings on your favorite back roads or touring with clubs or friends.
