This vehicle is being sold "As is". 1973 Opel GT 3 Speed Automatic 63,378 miles - Approx 3500 miles on motor rebuild This is a non-A/C vehicle with manual steering We purchased this 73 Opel GT in November of 2014 with 62,149 miles as a weekend driver and to participate in year round local car shows, it is very popular at the cars shows (even at the MOPAR show) and gets lots of attention, we did some minor upgrades to make the car more reliable so that we could enter in "Poker Run" charity events, she is fun to drive. We are down sizing to make room for other projects. She only requires a little cosmetic TLC.We have documents that show the vehicle received body restoration, paint and internal mechanical upgrades between 2007 and 2014 by previous owners, any upgrades or replacements noted after 11/14 were done by us. This vehicle is 43 years old with 98% of it's original electrical wiring and components. The Opel GT is a true fastback, there is no external access to the trunk area, this is not a hatchback. There is a fold-up locking panel door that conceals the spare tire and jack and trunk area behind the front seats. Body: Overall body condition is very good for an 8 year old restoration that has been driven weekly, minor small dings, minor surface rust. 07/07 - Under hood rubber seals replaced. 11/09 - Door seals replaced. 07/09 - Door handle gaskets replaced. Paint: Vehicle was painted in 05/09, shows signs of wear, has chips, scratches and small "blisters" in paint.05/09 : Painted Silver Metallic Flake Bumpers: Front bumper has several small dings, chrome is in tact but starting to show it's age, Rear bumper assemblies are in great shape and show no damage, front and rear bumperettes and rubber pads are in very good shape and show no damage. Glass: All glass appears to be factory original, "pop-out" opening side quarter windows operate properly, driver and passenger widows operate properly but require a little assistance to seat properly when rolling up, windshield and rear window are intact and free from cracks and chips, Features a rare rear window defroster, it is noted that very few Opel GT's were shipped with this option, rear window defroster is not connected and it is unknown if it is functional. 05/09 - Windshield seal replaced.05/09 - Rear window seal replaced. Headlights: Appear to be factory original. The headlights and all mechanisms connected to the headlights are fully functional and operate perfectly locking solidly in both the open and close positions. For some unknown reason people at the car shows are absolutely fascinated with the flip over headlights, be prepared to flip the headlights a lot. Exterior Lighting: All 4 Ways lights, Brake lights, Turn Signals, Corner markers, Park lights and Running lights are functional and operate properly. Interior: Overall condition of the interior is good, most of it appears original. Seats, door panels and kick/side panels have wear/damage but are in decent shape for being factory originals, Head liner is near perfect condition, rear view mirror intact, sun visors intact, interior light works.5/09 - Floor carpets replaced. Dashboard: Factory radio is missing, factory clock does not work, "dummy" light cluster has burnt bulbs, dash top is severely cracked and has a custom fitted dash cover on it. All switches and levers operate properly to include - Turn signal and high beam lever - Park Light switch - Dash Panel Dimmer switch - 2 Speed Wiper switch to include drivers foot-well activated wiper pedal - 2 Speed Heater Blower Fan switch - Heater/Defroster Air Direction lever - Outside air / Heat mixture lever - 4 way Flasher switch, Cigarette Lighter works but must be held in to heat. With the exception of the Rear Defroster switch as the rear defroster is disconnected.02/15 : Boss Audio Multi-Media Radio.01/15 -Turn signal and high beam control lever. Steering Wheel: Wheel is solid and appears to be the original, it has an aftermarket vinyl steering wheel wrap on it that we have never removed, Horns do not operate at this time, we are tracking down the issue and hope to have fixed. Undercarriage: The underside of the vehicle is solid and in very good shape, no visible rust or holes, minor surface rust on exposed metal only, the underside had been undercoated previously and by us.01/15 - Undercoating05/09 - Undercoating Exhaust system : Exhaust system is solid and in very good shape from the header to the resonator tips, no holes minor surface rust.05/08- Entire exhaust system replaced. Brakes: Power Assist Front Disc rear Drums- Brakes are firm and in very good shape and stop the vehicle quickly.05/09 : Power Brake Booster rebuilt. Locking Fuel Cap : May be the original fuel cap. Fully functional locking fuel cap with key. Engine: Rebuilt Engine. Engine runs strong, no knocks or pings, our best calculation puts the engine at about 3500 miles since the rebuild.07/07- Engine rebuild, rings, rod bearings, Valves resurfaced, Intake and exhaust valve seats, Cam bearings, 268 degree street and autocross Cam shaft and matching Hydraulic lifters, Polished and chamfered crankshaft, Cylinders surfaced honed, Gaskets and seals replaced. Carburetor: The factory Solex carburetor was replaced and upgraded to a true Italian Weber 32/36 DGV Series Carburetor. 01/15 - Weber 32/36 DGV Series Carburetor Snorkel Breather Kit 01/15 - High flow Conical Air Filter.11/14- Carburetor rebuilt Battery: Battery is in great working order, no issues.11/14 - Interstate Battery - MEGA - TRON II Electrical System: To the best of our knowledge the entire electrical system to include the Alternator and a majority of the vehicles wiring are factory original, when all accessories are running under full load to include the headlights the Amp Meter drops from neutral "0" to "-13", very light flaring can be detected with the headlights. Alternator does charge the battery. Ignition System: Ignition system is in great working order, vehicle starts quickly.01/15 - Pertronix Igniter Electronic Ignition Kit.01/15 - Pertronix Flamethrower 40,000 volt 3.0ohm Coil.12/16 - Ignition Switch serviced. Cooling System : The cooling system is in great working order, no leaks or issues, The automatic transmission radiator was replaced with a manual transmission radiator and an external transmission cooler was added. 02/15 - Water pump replaced.02/15 - Fan Shroud Replaced. 02/15 - Fan Replaced. William L. "Bill" Mitchell was an automobile designer who was recruited by Harley Earl to join the Art and Colour Section of General Motors in 1935. Mitchell is responsible for creating or influencing the design of over 72.5 million automobiles produced by GM, including such landmark vehicles as the 1949 Cadillac with its P38 influenced fins, the 1955-57 Chevrolet Bel Air, the 1961-76 Corvette Stingray, and his swan song, the 1980-1985 Cadillac Seville. Since it was the last design of consequence that General Motors design chief Bill Mitchell oversaw, Wayne Kady’s 1980 Cadillac Seville is thought by some to be the ultimate expression of Mitchell’s design philosophy. No doubt Mitchell was a fan of what he called the “London look”, and the ’80 Seville had that in spades: a classic vertical grille, a bustle shaped rear end, a raked C pillar and a long hood. When accused of borrowing the bustle-back from a contemporary Lincoln, Mitchell reportedly got indignant and said that he stole it from Rolls-Royce, not the cross-town competition in Dearborn. The second generation Seville made its debut in the fall of 1979 to great fanfare and controversy. Although there were decent production numbers for this body’s 6 year run, very few were saved by collectors, mainly because of the popularity of the midsized coupes of this era. This is proving to have been a big oversight. On any given day you can find a nice low mile Eldorado of this generation, but a pristine low mile Seville is very scarce. And Cadillac collectors have noticed, with the demand for a nice second generation Seville more than doubling the price over the last five years. This gorgeous low mile, all original Seville was purchased recently by my 87 year old father, who has always driven Cadillacs and lamented the sale of his series 2 Seville in the 1990s. Unfortunately though, after recent triple bypass surgery, and while he is in great overall health, he (we) decided his driving days are setting. After scouring Hemmings, eBay, and Craigslist, he found this car local. It was the pride and joy of a local personage who had two cars, this Seville and a Lincoln Towncar; the Seville was her go to Sunday church car. Dad acquired the car from her estate; he dealt with her nephew who as a professional mechanic, had always taken care of her cars. This Seville has always been garaged, has always had a battery tender attached, has always been started regularly, and has always been serviced regularly. One interesting detail, look for the image of the door jamb service sticker that shows a 1991 oil change at 21xxx miles. Freshly Serviced: After purchase, we took the car to my mechanic and had him do a comprehensive service. Here is a list of what we had him do: · Replaced the master-brake cylinder. · Brakes themselves were in tip-top shape but we did a complete brake fluid flush after replacing the master brake cylinder. · New front shocks. · New exhaust system from the exhaust pipe back, including a new muffler and resonator. · New OEM power antenna motor. · New plugs and a general tune-up. · New tires. The tires on the car were like new but they were installed in 2009 and had developed a flat spot on one tire. · Oil and filter change. · Coolant was like new so we didn’t drain or flush. · Belts and hoses were like new so we left them alone. · Battery is good. Wiper blades are good. Every light works. All instruments work. Mileage computer works. Everything works. Remarkable. Mechanically, this car is ready to drive across the country. The AC works great, the climate control system works as new, the cruise control works as new, the optional radio/cassette player sounds great, not a rattle or hum. However I noticed that when using the cassette, one channel will go in and out. It might be that the head needs to be cleaned with a Q-Tip and alcohol. Or it could have been the included cassette of Patsy Cline; I don’t have another cassette to test. Visually the car is like new. It is in spectacular condition. Not a door ding, scratch, the panels are laser straight; there has never been any body damage and there is zero rust or corrosion. All the light lenses are clear without fade. It is in as close to mint condition as you will ever find. I have seen newer cars with the same mileage that could not hold up to comparison; the car is in remarkable condition. Even the cigarette lighters have never been used. The car’s interior smells like a new car, the leather is spotless and supple. All the glass, rubber grommets, and seals are like the day they left the factory. No scratches to the all original glass, all the rubber bits are in fantastic shape. The last thing to mention would be how visually, the car is a really beautiful color. The same can be said about the leather, which comes very close to matching the exterior hue. I spent a lot of time looking up the paint codes and the paint code WA-8240 was called WOODLAND HAZE METALLIC. The interior color I believe was called MEDIUM COGNAC. I decoded the RPO codes online from the Cadillac forum and the interior code corresponds to four different options. As two were for an Opel, which is GM in Europe, and one was for a Holden, GM built in Australia; I deduced the MEDIUM COGNAC would be the correct color name for the US. Please see the entire list of the included GM RPO codes and notes that are at the end of this listing. You will see that there are some codes that show as “No Match”, I did my best to find out what those codes corresponded to but in searching the Cadillac forum, found other owners having the same issue so assume that without further investigation, we will have to accept that we tried. A long listing, yes. I tried to highlight each area of interest, so for those who aren’t as obsessive, wouldn’t have to wade thru the minutia. For those that enjoy the details, well here you go! It is a really nice car that is worth spending the time on. Price: Well I know we spent the dollars to acquire the best but Dad is open to reasonable offers. CAR IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR SALE LOCALLY AT THIS VERY LOW PRICE!! THIS AUCTION CAN END AT ANY TIME!! I am selling a 1974 BMW 2002 with the 5-speed transmission upgrade. I believe the color to be Verona (Red) as you can see on hood and trunk lid. Paint is faded so I thought it was Inka Orange for a while. I purchased the car a few months ago and had transported from Washington State to California. I always loved these cars and I felt is was a great deal; especially with the 5-speed. I am selling because my ever patient wife was already not very happy with me because I am up to 6 cars; 2 that are still in restoration stages (1973 Opel GT and 1965 VW Bug). Let's just say this cars arrival didn't go over very well. I paid $2700 for the car and $650 to transport so I am losing money at this price but I think it is very fair and I really want to have the car in someones garage soon! Buick also improved the suspension starting with the 2010 models, and we found this latest version exhibits less body roll in the corners and less float on lumpy surfaces. The LaCrosse also offers continuously variable smart shocks, which adjust themselves in real time. Steering was quickened to complement the new chassis, so it steers more precisely, but without inducing noticeable torque steer under hard throttle. It's distinctly original, and yet, the car remains recognizable as a Buick. There is a notably high belt line, and the wheels are snugly enclosed at the outer ends of the body. Viewed from the side, the profile is not unlike that of a sport-compact coupe, but the LaCrosse is a roomy car, and bigger than it looks. A coefficient of drag (Cd) of 0.33 adds to the sleek effect and helps improve mileage and control wind noise. Teams on three continents participated in the design. Source: New Car Test Drive Driving Impression We drove a LaCrosse CXS with the touring package, plus the head-up display, navigation system, and heated and cooled leather seats. The 3.6-liter V6 allows for easy loafing about, even under 2000 rpm, and quickly revs to 7000 rpm when the throttle is pinned to the floor. When passing, we saw the automatic transmission shift directly from 2000 rpm to 5000 rpm, on the way to 7000 rpm, accelerating smoothly. That meant we were exposed to oncoming traffic for a minimum amount of time. The engine does need to rev to make peak power, seeming to catch fire at 4500 rpm. It makes a pleasantly balanced, muted mechanical whir when revved, but otherwise runs very quietly. The 3.6-liter V6 is rated at 280 hp and 259 lb-ft torque, and gets an EPA-estimated 17/27 mpg. The 2.4-liter Ecotec boasts variable valve timing and direct fuel injection, just like the big V6, and is rated 182 hp at 6700 rpm, and 172 lb-ft of torque at 4900 rpm. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 19/30 mpg City/Highway. All LaCrosse models come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, although gear ratios differ slightly. The 6-speed is a key component to the responsiveness of the LaCrosse. It's intelligent, smooth shifting, and it makes the engines more responsive. Driven as an automatic, the transmission is a gem. If you prefer to select a gear on your own, it will allow manual shifts. We were impressed with the transmission. We found using the Sport mode and shifting manually is hampered by the location of the shifter, which is relatively far back in the center console. It was hard on our wrist to maintain grip on the shifter, which tells us the LaCrosse wasn't really designed for people who have to shift and downshift every gear on their own. Our preference was to put it in Drive and let the automatic take its cues from our throttle input. The hydraulically assisted, variable-ratio steering that comes with V6 models is surprisingly neutral, especially considering the front-wheel-drive layout, and pleasingly quick and precise. There are only 2.75 turns, lock-to-lock, and yet the car never feels twitchy on the road. The system has variable assist programming, so it gave us a firm, controlled feeling at speed and very light effort when parking. Four-cylinder models come with an electric steering system with the same fast variable ratios. We saw no apparent torque steer in normal driving, just a strong return-to-center tendency. In hard cornering at full throttle we saw the steering pull slightly to the left. In short, the Buick LaCrosse handles very well. We found that when driven hard, the LaCrosse CXS with the touring package gripped the road well and felt solid and controlled. The touring package includes the best handling components, such as H-arm rear suspension, 19-inch wheels, and continuously variable real-time damping. With this equipment, a very favorable ride/handling tradeoff has been achieved. Relaxed driving on choppy roads reveals a high degree of cabin isolation from the pavement. It's the kind of ride quality intended to provide superior comfort on long, straight roads that run between endless cornfields, or at higher speeds on the interstate. We could hear tire deflection as we passed over cracked tarmac, but we did not feel anything annoying. The driving was quiet, smooth and relaxed, and yet, the car does not float or wander. The chassis is still connected with the road, conveying a definite sense of control and agility. The brakes are impressive both in terms of pedal effort and overall feel. The system uses 12.6 inch front discs and 12.4 inch read discs, with aluminum calipers on all four corners. They offer gentle stopping at the very top of the pedal, making it possible to bleed in braking gently, for smooth, progressive stops. As we look back on GM braking systems of the past, which had good stopping power but poor pedal feel, we are all the more satisfied with this improvement. Every car should have brakes this good. There has been a focused effort at noise control in the LaCrosse, with mostly excellent results. Buick engineers have clearly studied sources of noise, then systematically damped, cancelled, or isolated those sources using materials like acoustic glass, liquid and fabric sound deadeners, engineered seals and tuned mounting systems. The car runs quietly to begin with, given the gentle nature of the V6 engine and tall overall gearing that permits low-rpm operation. But these sound control efforts have definitely bourn fruit, as the LaCrosse has a sound level measured at a quiet 35.5 decibels at 70 mph. We're not sure how that compares with the competition, which is also achieving remarkable noise suppression, but we can tell you that during our drive time, the loudest noise in the cabin came from the air conditioning fan. Source: New Car Test Drive Interior The LaCrosse interior uses thoughtfully considered materials, based on a highly detailed design concept. The front space is framed by a low-and-away instrument panel, opening up the area for front seat occupants and creating a light, airy atmosphere. Flat, low-relief controls are clustered in an orderly, symmetrical center stack, leaving generous portions of the dash surround free and clean. The overall effect is to create a graceful, uncluttered cockpit. Styled air vents on either side of the navigation screen, which mimic the design of vintage Buicks, have a quality feel and ample range of adjustment. At dusk, ice-blue ambient lighting becomes apparent on CXS models, with LED sources located around the audio controls, along the instrument panel and in the footwells. Two overhead spotlights softly highlight the seating areas. It's a visually sophisticated way of lighting the cabin, quite unexpected and inviting. The interior design team was based in China, where Buick cars are often purchased by owners who do not drive themselves, leading to special emphasis on interior detail and back seat accommodations. Rear legroom is generous, even with the front seats adjusted for taller drivers. The rear seat offers its own climate control system, and a seat-back-mounted DVD system is optional. A power rear sunshade is standard on the CXS. All models benefit from Buick's QuietTuning sound control initiatives. These include use of acoustic glass, triple door seals, acoustic mats and extensive use of sound-deadening materials. Engine and suspension noise and vibrations have been isolated through use of hydraulic bushings, covers and tuned air flow systems. LaCrosse CX and CXL models are complemented with dark poplar wood appliques, while the CXS has more technical titanium-type square trim details. Interior color choices include contrasting two-tone combinations: Cocoa/Light Cashmere and Dark Titanium/Light Titanium as well as (on leather-equipped models) solid Ebony. This 1970 Dodge Super Bee was rotisserie restored by Magnum Auto Restoration and completed in 2013. The car has it's numbers matching 440 6 pack motor and 18 spline hemi 4 speed transmission. It also has the original 3.54 geared dana rear axle that was also rebuilt. All of the mechanicals are completely rebuilt. The motor was built and dynoed by Opel Engineering in Streamwood,IL and the original 4 speed transmission was rebuilt by Passion Performance. The carbs are the original ones with the correct part numbers and date codes. the correct 956 radiator, exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, etc. are all on the car. the only deviation from stock is the addition of Mopar Electronic ignition system in place of the original dual point distributor. We did hide the ignition box so it is hard to see. The body is in excellent condition with the correct per the original fender tag FC7 Plum Crazy Purple paint being flawless. There are no defects in the paint or body work. All of the stainless has been straightened and buffed to perfection. The bumpers have been re chromed, all of the glass is new with Chysler Pentastar logos on them as they should. The vent window frames have been re chromed. The grilles are fully restored and have no breaks in them. The stripes are white just like the fender tag says it should be. As the fender tag calls for, this is an original N96 ramcharger hood car. The under hood air box is in very good condition. The under carriage of the car has the correct paint over spray over the correct dark gray primer. All of the suspension components have been painted to look like they should be. These were not painted with a spray can, theyhave been painted with a spray gun to last a very long time and not rust. All of the fasteners have been correctly painted in phosphate, zinc, and cadmium where they should be. The interior is all new from Legendary Auto Interiors. The gauges were rebuilt by Instrument Specialties. The dash bezels are all new. The dash frame and steering column have been painted in the correct suede finish. The wheels on the car are '450' clones. Many cars from 1970-71 with 15" steel wheels fail to go this far in the restoration. While they do not have the '450' part number stamped in them, they look identical. The tires are the correct Goodyear Polyglass GT F60-15 white letter tires. THE CAR STILL HAS IT'S ORIGINAL FENDER TAG!!!! All of the options called for on the fender tag are what is on this car, no additions. We have ownership history on this car all the way back to the original owner in 1970. The car was shown at the 2013 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals and won a concourse gold award!
