Garaged since the rebuild. This is a 1986 Pontiac Fiero that has been stripped down to the bare frame and completely rebuilt from the ground up. Rust free. I purchase it from a man that has it made in Boston and drive it home to Maryland 500 miles. here is what I know. The engine is from a 1996 Corvette LT 4. it was taken apart and completely rebuilt. the trans is gatrag Fiero manual trans also rebuilt. it has an oil pressure gage in the engine bay. The CPU is from the Corvette. See the Pictures for the air intake. fully repainted with while the panels were off. front bumper is custom. I think the bumper is customer to fit the large radiator. heat and AC work. custom DVD Bluetooth radio that is touch screen. The inside has been re-appolstered. new seats new head liner and the visors look new. . New window and headlight motors. the roof is perfect no cracks. The bad. l looks don't work right on the left door. right kind of works and on the right front bumper there is a chip in the fiberglass. EXTREMELY RARE, 1988 PONTIAC FIERO GT WITH T-TOPS, AUTOMATIC, ONLY 50,198 MILES, AMAZING CONDITION, READY TO SHOW AND GO!!! 1 OF 614 FACTORY T-TOP FIERO GT'S EVER PRODUCED!!! This is truly one of those unique opportunities to buy a collectible sports car that was ordered loaded up with rare options and has truly been pampered and extremely well maintained throughout its life. Hard to believe this car is now 29 years old! The body is in fantastic condition and was never in any accidents nor shows any rust anywhere. The original red paint still shines beautifully. Upon close inspection you will find a few very tiny rock chips along the front bumper but this is the original factory paint. I point out these minor flaws to let you know it is not absolutely flawless but I am confident the next lucky owner will be thrilled with its original condition. All of the original VIN stickers are present on all body panels. Pop-up headlights function perfectly. The body style on the Fiero GT is really quite sleek and this Red beauty attracts attention wherever it goes. Of the 6848 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT's produced, only 614 had the Factory T-Top option ordered and this is one of those rare optioned cars. This can be verified on the production sticker that shows the CJ8 Code that indicates this was one of the cars that GM sent to Cars and Concepts (C&C) to have the T-Tops installed before it was then shipped out to the dealer. The T-Tops are in great condition and come with the original T-Top cover bags. They fit snug and and tight and do not leak. It almost smells new! The tan cloth seats compliment the red exterior beautifully and are in amazing condition with no signs of wear. Dash looks perfect, center console looks new, carpeting looks great and original floor mats still look good. Power windows and power mirrors function properly. The original steering wheel and shifter show no wear which is amazing. All of the gauges and lights appear to be working correctly and the A/C blows nice and cold. This GT was ordered with all options including the power mirrors, windows, and cruise control and the only option not on the vehicle is a rear window defogger. It also has the very rare Performance Factory Sound Option with sub woofer. All of the speakers except the sub were replaced by me and the system looks original and sounds great. Overall the interior is simply show ready awesome! The Fiero's mid engine layout was chosen as a way to reduce aerodynamic drag and vehicle weight to improve fuel efficiency and for its handling, traction and braking benefits. The 1988 GT model is considered the most desired for many reasons. Numerous changes were made to the 1988 Fiero with the most significant one being a completely redesigned suspension to realize the full potential of the mid-engine layout. This new suspension included new two piece brake calipers and upgraded rotors. The GT model included the V6 motor with 43 horsepower more than the 4 cylinder, upgraded suspension and wider tires. Topping off the package was the new vented disc brake set up on all 4 corners. During the final year of production the Pontiac, MI plant where the Fiero was produced was shut down and Pontiac made the decision to cease production in February, 1988. There were only a total of 6849 Fiero GT's produced in this final year. Research shows there were some interesting comparisons of the Fiero GT to the Ferrari 308 and performance statistics would surprise the heck out of you on the Fiero. It is known that Pontiac purchased several Ferrari 308's for handling and engineering and comparison purposes. Some called the Fiero the mini Ferrari that was far more affordable. The original gold wheels are in excellent condition. Front trunk area looks like it did in 1988 and the engine bay and trunk are extremely nice and near perfect. The only two things not stock on this car (having been replaced by the previous owner) are the rear view mirror and radio. The original cassette was replaced by a factory Pontiac CD unit which matches perfectly and only an expert would know it is an upgrade. The rear view mirror was replaced with an auto dimming compass Pontiac model and again looks perfectly stock. This car is a fully loaded great example of this fine collectable mid engine American made machine. Deposit required within 48 hours of purchase. This is the last and best year for the Fiero, and if you are reading this, most likely you already know the historical significance of this one year only GM car from its unique space frame inner construction to its marriage of flex and hard outer body panels that give it its good looks. All fieros made prior to 1988 had leftover parts from discontinued GM cars (citation/chevette and all its cousins) in their assembly, leaving their owners wanting better performance and handling. For 1988 Gm spent some 40 million dollars to give the 88 GT upgraded suspension handling and performance improvements making it into a world class competitor , produced the car a few months, then pulled the plug on production making it a one year only car. Road and Track/Car and Driver along with various other car publications told its readers to go out and buy one and put it away as it was destined to be a future collector car. This is what we have here, a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT that was bought and put away in 1988,a true time capsule that was purchased from the previous owner who moved and lost storage, all 100% original except for ac refrigerant (changed ac to r134 as r12 no longer available). Pontiac Fiero SE 1987 Project Car with Mark II Styling Kit and not running. This 1987 car was bought by my friends husband back in 1991 from someone in MA. He drove it back to California and got himself a NAF Mark II Styling Kit from North American Fiberglass and worked on it for a few months, lost interest and it has sat in her garage ever since. He never drove the car again. 25 Years? and she wants it gone! Rats have moved in and out of it over the years and it shows. I have vacuumed it out. I don't know what he paid for the car originally But the kit cost him 5,995.00. There is a step by step manual included with this purchase but I am not sure it is all there. I see lights and other parts! We have not tried to start the engine as to not damage it since it has sit so long and leaving that up to a professionals. I am not sure if all the kit parts are there nor if all the Fiero original parts that are required to complete the installation of the kit are there. So we are sell this item CAR and KIT ASIS and what you see in the pictures is what you get. There are 2 sets of keys and the key for the tire locking devices on the tires. There are about 4 boxes of parts that are being included with this car. Some definitely you will need and others may not go to this car at all. There is a small part on the fiberglass by the door that has broken. See Pictures! Front Windshield has 2 nicks in it But it looks like all the other glass is good. All the upholstery in the vehicle needs to be replaced. See Vehicle History Report for more details! Size of engine ETC. However, it is a 5 speed stick shift and I think the VHReport has it down as a automatic. For shipping purposes we can put all the small stuff in the car and put the fiberglass body in place on the car and strap them down. I bought this car in 1995 (from the original -1st owner - a nice lady who drove it some 68K miles) and I took good care of it: kept it in a garage in WA state, used only synthetic oil, did not race it etc. It was not used for a few years and the fuel tank needs to be emptied, cleaned and it needs a new fuel pump (they go for $60). I had no engine trouble before the pump stopped working properly. (normally you can hear the pump in the 1st 2-3 seconds after turning the ignition key without cranking the engine) I put a voltmeter on the ALDL Connector pin: G (Fuel Pump Test near the cigarette lighter socket) and the voltage gets there OK so it is obviously a pump issue. Here in CA (San Diego -Imperial Beach) where I brought the car, I am not allowed to work on it (apartment buildings /city ordinance etc.) so if you the proper workspace and some 2 hours, this is easy. you are getting a brand new battery: I bought it from a local dealer (supposedly much better than the ones at the local store) and I paid $100; I was hoping to get the fuel pump running with proper cranking voltage as they say that sometimes a good battery is what it takes. The spare tire is like new (never used or installed) important: California bidders, please note that you will need to install a CA catalytic converter: like this: Magnaflow 334006 Catalytic Converter California EBAY item: 191692271243 Price: $95.90 If your local laws require emission tests, it will probably be a good idea to get a new catalytic converter to make sure that the car will pass (WA state where the car was registered did not require such a test) it is a relatively small investment for this car model, and the existent one is old. the interior is in decent shape considering its age. It has the original radio with graphic equalizer and all the car speakers are good. The front tires are in good shape, and it will need new rear tires. For the low "buy it now" price here - it is a bargain. The car is worth much more but I must sell. Please consider the towing: tow dolly vs. flat tow. u-haul has both (for cheap), and the car is light. I used a flat car trailer to bring it to my current location as I cared about the car and letting it ride on 2 of its wheels all the way was not the best option for this nice classic. I'll hold the car in my paid (private) parking spot for as long as you need, and help you load it. The car is located in Imperial Beach - some 12 miles South of downtown San Diego.
