This is the first and only time this car will be on ebay. It will be advertised elsewhere if not sold here, so do not hesitate if you want this car. You may call me directly with questions--I'm easy to talk with (no marketing/advertising solicitors): Doug--913-461-4890. With the stock market unstable, and another major correction likely--now's the time to put some of those funds into a solid, appreciating, asset with wide "forever" appeal. Beautiful, original 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport coupe. This car needs absolutely nothing to be driven and enjoyed now. Reliable enough to drive absolutely anywhere. If you don't want to spend another $10k on the GTO-version of this car, this might be the option for you. This is an original Florida car, thus the reason it's so clean. Highlights: * All numbers matching * Original sheetmetal car, including quarters, trunk, and floor pans. Frame is perfect with no rust/repairs. * Original buildsheet included(not a PHS copy) verifying all options and colors * Excellent and correct colors (Lucerne Blue paint, white top, blue interior) * Correct bucket seat/column shift car (indicative of the "sport" model) * Cold working Air Conditioning * Power steering, Power brakes * Complete set of 1971 Pontiac Shop manuals (body and chassis) and owner's manual included. * Complete set of 4 blue matching "Pontiac" factory style floor mats in excellent shape included. * Added "good stuff" includes a brand new gas tank, new shocks, new underhood chrome pieces, "Judge" wing painted to match, new 15" Pontiac Rally II wheels, trim rings and center caps, like new BFG Radial TA tires, new Flowmaster exhaust system for that one-of-a-kind muscle car sound, and New-In-Box dash cap (even though it doesn't need it). All of the glass is in great shape, and all windows roll up and down easily. The car starts easily, idles perfectly and drives even better than it looks. Lights, wipers, horn, signals all work--even the overhead light and key buzzer still work! Straight bumpers in good original condition. Interior in nice original condition, including upholstery, door panels, carpet, dash, and headliner. Primary flaw is a tear in the driver's seat bottom (and sadly, the factory AM radio has bitten the dust--RIP, transistor trash!). All gauges work, and the dash is very clean. Also included are the original valve covers, hub caps, and air cleaner. Paint and body are in excellent condition as seen in the pics. White vinyl top is in near perfect condition and really sets off the car. No rust, no body work, and no paint work needed! Very few flaws overall--all are minor; overall condition is excellent. Not a museum piece, and not priced like one. It is really hard to find a documented, numbers-matching, original-metal classic car with cold A/C in great colors that's ready to drive for any price on ebay, much less one in the $15k price range. Do some shopping around and you'll see what I mean. This is a beautiful driver that can be driven or shown proudly that won't require a bunch of money be sunk into it and make you wonder what you got yourself into. This would make a great birthday, anniversary, or early Christmas present for that special car enthusiast in your life. I can also help arrange delivery to your front door if you need that. Notes And Disclaimers (Read this): This is a 44 YEAR old car, not a 44 DAY old car. As such, it is sold AS IS, WHERE IS. I've described the car honestly and to the best of my ability, but if you're not sure about something, ASK before bidding. I encourage you to inspect the car in person, or there is a certified classic car appraiser in my city you can hire to do an inspection/valuation of the car, and I will gladly give you his info. This car is VERY NICE, but it's not perfect, nor is any car of this age in this price range. If you are the type to unrealistically nitpick a 45 yr old, $15.9k car, but don't come see it in person before winning it, don't expect any sympathy from me. I've sold dozens of cars on ebay over the years, all with 100% positive ratings, with the sole exception being someone who blatantly tried to extort money from me on an excellent original, survivor car. Those who see my cars in person NEVER accuse me of misrepresenting them. That will also be the case with this car. IF YOU CAN'T PAY, OR NEED PERMISSION FIRST, DON'T BID. THIS IS NOT A GAME. Good luck, and be assured the winner will be able to thoroughly enjoy this well-cared for classic Pontiac.

The body shell is, of course, the same, and it still packs a potent, freshly-rebuilt 350 so it'll run with a genuine Goat without breaking a sweat. Looks good, goes fast, costs less, how can you lose? The paint job was done a few years ago, but the gorgeous code 56 Monarch Yellow finish is holding up quite well and combined with the black interior and top, it looks a bit formal on the sleek Lemans bodywork. Fit and finish are quite good with doors that close more easily than just about any other GM car of the period we've experienced, indicative of both quality workmanship and a solid car that hasn't been bent or rusty. The Sport was a lot more GTO than most would believe, including an Endura front bumper and hood scoops for an aggressive look. There's not a lot of trim on the Lemans, but details like the '350' emblems on the rocker panels, the neat little vent behind the front wheels, and the familiar chrome rear bumper all look to be in good shape. Yes, someone has added GTO emblems front and rear, but given the similarities, that can be forgiven. After all, who hasn't dreamed of a GTO ragtop in their garage at some point or another? Dressed to play, the black bucket seat interior is just as functional and inviting as any in a GTO. The seat covers show minimal wear and it's quite possible that things like the door panels and dash pad are originals, with the back seat looking almost like new. This Lemans offers only basic instrumentation, but the three gauge pod layout still looks sporty and the woodgrained appliques look warm and inviting. The cool 3-spoke wheel looks aftermarket but is the optional sport wheel, and the center console houses a shifter that now manages the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission underneath. There is factory air that now uses R134a refrigerant, and the original radio has been dumped in favor of a newer Panasonic AM/FM/CD stereo unit that sounds pretty good in the vintage ragtop. The trunk is correctly finished with spatter paint, what might be the original mat, and a full-sized spare with cover. The engine is the original, numbers-matching Pontiac 350 that seems to ignore the declining horsepower in the early 1970s. It's nicely detailed with corporate turquoise engine enamel, a 4-barrel carburetor, and original air cleaner up top. The great thing is that everything looks factory because it is. It starts quickly and easily, idles with a throaty V8 burble, and moves easily with a solid whack of low-end torque. It's backed by a new TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end out back, so the powertrain is certainly durable enough to have fun without worries. A recent dual exhaust system with original-style mufflers gives it a mellow soundtrack, and the correct Rallye II wheels won't raise any eyebrows with purists, even with 225/70/14 front and 235/60/14 rear Goodyear radials wrapped around them. If you don't care about pedigrees and investments and just want to get to the business of having fun, this very neatly finished Lemans is your car. Owing a clone is a way to have a faithful tribute to these extremely rare muscle cars while also saving huge money. Plus, when it looks as good as this one, it's up to you to decide if you want to share this car's secret. Getting a GTO right is no easy task. For starters, the stylish and dent-resistant Endura front bumpers were exclusive to the GTOs and not shared with any other mid-size Pontiacs in 1970. The functional dual-scoop is another unmistakable icon of this muscle car. All of this is set off with a bright mint turquoise paint to grab everyone's attention. When showing up or showing off, enthusiasts know The Judge is much more than just getting the highly stylized decals accurate on the fender and the trunk. This package was about adding more street-smart aggression, so getting one of these right has to include extras like the wild colored side stripes and the rear spoiler. The Rally II wheels are a hallmark of these muscle cars because they have a stylistic flair with the PMD (Pontiac Motor Division) center cap that gives them a hint of industrial inductiveness. Inside, the deep black bucket seats are all about sporty business. The chair's dark vinyl matches the color of the door cards, center armrest, roof, and dashboard, but the interior is not a monochromatic experience. There is wood appliqu' on the center console and surrounding the gauge cluster. Plus, 1970 was the first year when Pontiac's performance cars would feature a section of billet aluminum trim a touch many other clones often miss. The steering wheel is actually a later unit out of a Trans Am, which gives it the comfort of a smaller diameter, and better grip. This tribute to The Judge comes with plenty of convenience options such as power steering and air conditioning (factory in this car, but needing parts to complete it). Looking for the tachometer? It's outside, mounted on the hood. It was a head-up display option for racing, and quite frankly, also just another way the designers back then were showing how they were always thinking about cool showpieces. Underneath the hood is the stout numbers matching 350 cubic inch V8 motor. The three-speed automatic transmission and front disc brakes makes the coupe good for cruising, but the performance exhaust upgrade will announce to everyone not to mess with this Judge. Plus, there's an extra feeling of confidence from behind the wheel of these tribute cars. This Pontiac coupe came down the same assembly line in between its GTO brothers, but it likely didn't spend its first few years making jackrabbit starts at each traffic light like most GTOs did. Instead, this one just has all the appearance of a cherished original at a fraction of the price. Pontiac used to have fun in its advertisements about how "The Judge can be bought." It all holds true with this tribute clone...just for a lot less. 1970 Pontiac GTO for Sale 1970 Pontiac GTO for Sale Stock # 2922-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. For sale is this beautiful, numbers matching, PHS documented, dependable, well-handling, high-performance 1972 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible. This car is not a re-imagined hot rod, but a thoughtfully restored classic, keeping all major components original, but massaging each system to make this car safer, more dependable, stronger, smoother, and higher performance than it ever could have been when it rolled off the assembly line in Michigan in April, 1972. It is one of the very last A-Body cars ever built by GM, so I felt I owed it to its history to keep the car as it was intended, but utilize today’s technology to make it better. As such, instead of simply dropping in a crate engine, I chose to take the original 45-year old 350, numbers matching engine, and have it balanced, blueprinted, bored, stroked, ported and polished to 409 cubic inches using only the best forged crank, pistons and rods. The heads were ported and polished, with roller rockers and stronger valves and springs installed. Even the original intake manifold was port-matched to the original heads to maximize air flow. Yes, a crate engine would have been half the price, but the originality of this car would have been lost. To bring the power plant into the 21st century for reliability, performance and fuel efficiency, the updated motor is fitted with electronic ignition, cold-air induction (with no cutting of the body) and electronic fuel injection (the Rochester 4-barrel comes with the car for you purists). In the same vein, the original 4-speed transmission with Hurst 4-speed shifter remains, but the components of the transmission were all replaced with heavy-duty parts. Same for the rear end differential, which now houses an Auburn carrier and Yukon 3.31 gears. For safety, the car now has Wilwood power disc brakes all around and chromed-15-inch Pontiac wheels (the original 14-inch wheels are not only getting harder to find tires for, they would not accommodate the large disc brakes desired to slow down the all new power of this car). Similarly, for handling and a smooth ride, the suspension was replaced front and rear with Hotchkis equipment, including upper and lower control arms front and rear, anti-sway bars front and rear and Hotchkis-tuned Fox shocks all around. The results are a car that starts, runs, stops and rides like no other ’72 Pontiac. Again, however, all the major components remain original. The same thought process went into the body and interior of the car. The entire rust-free car was stripped and painted with the original Pontiac Code 65 Sundance Orange color (as identified on the VIN) and original black, bucket seat and console interior. However, to give the car 21st century looks, it was fitted with a front and rear spoiler (the front spoiler aids with airflow into the cold-air induction and the rear “duck-tail” is unique to only the 1972 model Lemans and no other and helps push the rear down at high speed), matte black rally stripes (reduces sun glare from the hood) and matching orange piping of the black vinyl interior (the only flaw in the car is a 2” piece of orange piping I inadvertently tore on the side of the driver’s seat). Again, the major components (the exterior and interior colors) remain original. They have simply been “enhanced.” Even the 800-Watt Rockford Fosgate stereo does not detract from the originality of this car as the head unit is from Retrosound to match the chrome style of the dash. The only two visible speakers are on the rear convertible ram covers on the sides of the backseat. The subwoofer and amplifiers are in the trunk and the Sirius satellite unit is hidden in the glove box. There are hundreds of pages of receipts which go with the car, but I included here only the $10k receipt for the engine work so as to show you the quality I demanded for this car. The paint job was another $10k. Also included are original Pontiac brochures and maintenance booklet. Feel free to ask any questions. No trades - I am selling to come up with more down-payment for a home. Your sailboat or stamp collection won't satisfy the mortgagor. Thank you,

Trim Sport

1965 Pontiac Lemans GTO Convertible                             Beautifully restored convertible to include all the options you could want!  A factory Tri-power convertible from new, this car now features a host of original & added equipment that include correct Hurst-cast 14? polished mags, 4-speed Muncie transmission, air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, power top, rally gauges, deluxe steering wheel, tilt column, and more!! Finished in triple black color combination, Royal Bobcat enhancements, and Firestone redlines!  Wow!! Significant changes to the 1965 Pontiac GTO included the famous stacked headlights, simulated hood scoops (could be made functional), slightly longer body, better breathing engine that produced more horsepower, improved brakes, and stiffer suspension! This paved the way for several more successful years, and Pontiac development designated the GTO its own model series by 1966. We are delighted to offer this 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible finished in gorgeous Starlight Black with Black interior and matching Black convertible top! It’s heavily optioned with features that start with a 389ci Tri-Power Ram Air V8 engine mated with a Muncie M20 4-speed transmission! Additional accessories include air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, center console, Rally gauges with dash tachometer, original Hurst 14” polished wheels wrapped in Firestone Super Sport Wide Oval Redline tires redline tires measuring 7.70-14, deluxe seatbelts, remote drivers mirror, interior courtesy lights, passenger vanity mirror, rear back-up lights, windshield washer with dual speed wipers, tilt steering column with deluxe faux wood steering wheel, foot pedal trim, and push-button Delco AM radio! This body and chassis on this wonderfully restored example are exceptional! It did start life with a 389ci Tri-power carbureted engine but with an automatic transmission. It was later fitted with a 1967 date-coded 1967 4-speed Muncie transmission. To ensure proper coding, this engine is a correct 1965 WS-code engine bearing the block casting 9778789 along with “77” heads, correct intake fitted with proper Rochester carbs with identification tags along with functional Ram Air pan! Credit for the engine overhaul goes to Carr Craft Automotive based in Kalamazoo, MI. Using only high grade components from Kenny Butler Racing and Venolia, this engine features a hardened steel crankshaft, forged aluminum connecting rods and 7/16” H-11 steel rod bolts, performance camshaft, roller rockers, ported-polished-matched heads, all fully balanced and blueprinted, all while maintaining the original Pontiac cast, visual components! It is nicely dressed with a chrome air cleaner & valve covers, GM tower clamps, inspection markings, Delco-Remy charging components, and more! Onlookers with be hard-pressed to discover anything amiss under this hood. The transmission was fully rebuilt by Webb’s Transmission Service in Cedar Rapids, IA. The power flows through a newer Flowmaster 2.5” exhaust system with chrome quad exhaust splitters to a rear end axle set up with 3.73 Safe-T-Track gearing! History of the car does include some past history in California before an Oklahoma owner took possession in the 1980’s. It was restored there and sold to its most recent owner who purchased it in September 1991 and stayed with him ever since. It has been garage kept for his 25 years of ownership and remains wonderfully rust free from a pampered lifestyle! According to a past story of this special GTO, it was treated early on to the Royal Bobcat performance upgrades by Ace Wilson’s shop based at Royal Oak Pontiac in Pontiac, MI. This story may have some actual validity considering the dealer zone ID when ordered new was 3533 representing an original Michigan dealership. Sadly, none of it can be confirmed today as we could not find a list of dealer codes from 1965, and the Royal Oak firm was said to have closed its doors in the 1980’s. Our restored example continues to wear Ace Wilson Bobcat plate frames and stickers on the quarter glass & trunk lid in hopeful honor of this past heritage. It continues to represent itself beautifully in all respects as an honest original GTO, and drives down the road exactly the same! Considering the true age of the restoration, it is remarkable! The rear trunk compartment is just as detailed with floor mat, spar tire, jack and tire changing tools. It will come with original PHS documentation realizing this car is now impressively upgraded with some non-original, but highly desired equipment.   Service history, title documentation, Please call with any additional questions or requests for extra information. Our written ads reflect both the fact that we really love these cars and feel that we are saving a part of America. We do our best to describe some of the features that you might find important. As a buyer of a car that is older than 25 model years, unless the car is represented as perfect (which our cars are not), you need to be aware that there are many smaller things that may or may not work, or may work one day and not the next, in these cars. This is due to the fact that they are over 25 years old. When bidding on a car please keep this in mind. 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible: The GM A-bodied cars grew and got heavier, too, from 1968. The LeMans and downscale Tempest versions retained the OHC sixes and optional Pontiac V8’s, which were now bored out to a  GM-marketing standard 350 cubic inches. Yes, each division’s 350 cubic inch engine were their own in this era, and no parts interchanged. The top V8 for LeMans was a 320 hp version of Pontiac’s 350, except for station wagons. (Nobody  at Pontiac apparently realized the potential of having a near-GTO performance wagon for families). Pontiac certainly covered all the other bases for performance in this era of straight line speed, though. By 1970, even the Tempest  and Lemans could be had with Pontiac’s 400 cubic inch V8’s, with up to a 345 hp. Speed was king, and Pontiac was often on the top of the hill knocking off all comers. By 1971, a 455 cubic inch with 335 hp was optional, and the GTO was  once again demoted to option status. Emissions equipment and lowered compression ratios started to take a toll on the engine power of all manufacturers, and insurance companies looking at huge losses incurred by youthful drivers in  nearly 400 hp cars started to claw back losses by penalizing those most likely to have accidents with onerous rate increases. By 1972, the huge 455 Pontiac V8 could produce no more than 300 hp and the muscle car era was all but dead.  In fact, Pontiac even dropped their OHC sixes and simply used Chevrolet OHV sixes for those few customers who wanted a six in their LeMans. Any of the LeMans cars from this era are highly collectible, whether or not they are cloned  GTO’s. This beautiful Castilian Bronze Lemans is a great example from the collection of a local Texan who has some of the nicest 60's & 70's convertibles you can find. We've been fortunate to have had several exceptional classics grace our  showroom over the years. With regards to paint, this Pontiac has one of the most spectacular paint jobs we have ever seen! The photos don't even do it justice. Before making it's way to TX, this Lemans Sport spent several years on display in a PA Pontiac dealership's showroom. It arrived in TX with a straight body, zero rust, and strong original paint job. "Strong" just wasn't good enough for the TX owner so he commissioned the repaint in the original colors and photo  documented the paint work. The engine bay, trunk, and interior are all equally as impressive. The second major highlight of this beauty is that it still retains the numbers matching 400 V8 (4bbl) and Automatic Transmission it had from new. This was a rare find in a '71 Lemans Sport and combined with the Endura Front End and  Painted Sport Mirrors give this Lemans some strong GTO characteristics. Additional features and options on this Lemans that haven't already been mentioned include; Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Top, Convertible Boot, Factory AM/FM Radio, Chrome Rear Bumper, Soft Ray Tinted Glass, Center Console Storage, Rubber Floormats, Owners Manual, Protect-O-Plate, Full Spare w/Cover, Tire Tools, 15" Factory Honeycomb Wheels, and thick Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport G70-15 Tires! As you will see in the photos below, this is an exceptional classic Pontiac that can be purchased for only $36,988!  With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful Lemans now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide  complete cargo insurance while in transit. It's also nicely finished, offers a strong-running 326 cubic inch V8, and a very authentic look that will make Pontiac purists smile. This LeMans is so authentic, it wears its original combination of Cameo Ivory over Saddle Bronze (code SC), a paint job that was applied about 20 years ago and still looks pretty darned impressive. The top is painted, not a padded vinyl roof, but the look is clean and simple on the angular Lemans bodywork and aside from some light orange peel on the C-pillars, the finish looks fantastic. There's an appropriate gloss that is straight out of the 1960s and despite being driven regularly, there are no major signs of use. In fact, it's pretty clear that someone took exceptional care of this car, despite it being an affordable Lemans instead of a high-dollar GTO. The other styling cues are the same, from the split grille to the well-sculpted quarters to the taillights, which are rumored to have been the most expensive ever made. This car also has some pretty darned nice chrome, including the bumpers and window trim, and even the '326' emblems on the front fenders, which it wears proudly. It's possible that many of the components inside the car are original, and while some things are showing their age, we wouldn't change a thing. The bucket seats are nicely broken-in while the back seat almost looks new, and we dig the low-key look of black and gold inside this car. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery, the carpet is in good shape with just some light fading, and that gold steering wheel looks fantastic. Factory gauges monitor the vitals and they didn't feel the need to add any aftermarket dials under the dash and even the original AM radio is still in place. Door panels are excellent and even the dome light still works! The trunk is outfitted with a brand new mat and spare tire cover, plus a full-sized spare and jack assembly for a very correct look. Pontiac's 326 cubic inch V8 was no slouch in the performance department and with a rebuild about 15 years ago, it still runs great. It's got an .030 overbore but is otherwise stock, so it runs and drives like it should and looks right with corporate turquoise engine paint and a stock style air cleaner up top. Power steering was added when the car was restored, and that makes a big difference in drivability, and with dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers, it sounds very GTO-like. The transmission is a PowerGlide 2-speed automatic feeding the original rear end, which hangs on a set of air shocks to help balance the ride. Experts will note it does have GTO exhaust tips, but otherwise it's quite stock. The front suspension has been rebuilt, the floors are in great condition, and it drives superbly overall. Factory steel wheels with hubcaps are fitted with new 205/75/14 redline radials that give it the perfect look. Documented with PHS documents, including a reproduction build sheet, plus a stack of restoration receipts, this is a great Lemans that's always been a favorite car. Forget fake GTOs, a real Lemans definitely delivers fun. 1971 Pontiac GT 37 (GTO / Lemans) "What is a GT 37?" GTO pretty much owned the Muscle Car market in the mid to late 1960's, but by the late 60's, they had lost market share to increasing completion from more basic, lower priced, stripped down cars with "taxi cab" interiors and bench seats, such as the Plymouth Road Runner. The GT 37 was Pontiac's answer to the increasing competition, advertising the GT 37: "There's a little GTO in every GT 37, and you don't have to be over 30 to afford it". The GT37 was only manufactured for two years, from 1970 1/2 - 1971 1/2, with a total production in the two years of 7,221 units. In 1971 they manufactured 5,802 units, with only 572 units equipped like this car, with a 400 CI 4 Barrel. The 1971 GT 37 could be ordered with the same engine and transmission as the 1971 GTO, and was basically stripped down version of the GTO, with all the power of a GTO, lighter weight, with a lower price. This car was originally special ordered by a Gentleman in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where the car remained until 2002. In 2002, it was sold, and shipped from Canada to Southern California where it sat in a garage until 2014. The reason this car is so solid with minimal rust, is because of where it spent it's life- not exposed to snow and road salt like Midwest or East Coast cars. I purchased this car with the intention of restoring it, but I have too many other projects going now, and not enough time. I have documentation for much of the history of this vehicle, including the Pontiac Historical Services Report, Build Sheet, and Import Papers from when the car was imported from the US to Canada, as well as the name of the original Owner, and the dealer in BC Canada that it was delivered to. Pontiac Historical Services has verified that it is a true GT 37- not a clone. I also had the brake system checked, since the car had been sitting for so long, and was told the brakes were good, and only had about 5,000 miles on them. The car is currently registered and drivable, so it would be a good car to either drive for now or during restoration, or restore at a later time. The main selling point for me and the main reason I bought the car was because I have owned GTO's in the past, and almost all East Coast cars are rusted in the trunk where the inner wheel wells meet the trunk floor. As you can see by the pictures of the trunk, there is no rust inside the trunk. There is a small hole in the drivers side floor pan, but the rest of the underbody and frame are solid. There are some rust bubbles in the paint on the bottom rear of the front fenders and rockers, but only bubbles and no holes. The interior and headliner are mostly original, worn, but unmolested. The seat covers were recovered at one time, because they are black, and the original interior color was Ivory. There is no radio in the car presently, and no speaker holes in the kick panels or doors, but the entire interior including the headliner needs to be replaced. The windshield has a crack in it. Prior to leaving Canada, a previous owner decided to paint the car its present color, white, and thought it would be a good idea to also paint the chrome bumpers white, (I'm guessing they were trying to make the front end look more like a GTO). If I was to keep the car, I would either replace or have the bumpers re-chromed. Also prior to leaving Canada, the engine was replaced with a non- numbers matching 400 CI, and a Saginaw 3 speed heavy duty floor mounted transmission, (which was the base transmission in the GT37). I am told but cannot verify that the engine only has 5,000 miles on it. The car has a Holley Carb, and judging by the way the car idles, a mild cam. This is a very solid car, would be an excellent restoration candidate, and is sure to apprciate in value due to the rarity of the GT37. Almost all necessary restoration parts can be purchased through "Ames Performance Engineering", and other companies that specialize in Pontiac GTO restoration parts. *The CT DMV has been updating its computer system, and there have been delays in processing documents. I registered the car in early July, and do not have the Title yet. I'm hoping to have the Title by the time this listing ends. Of course the sale is contingent on my providing a clean title with the car.

The car was restored in the late 80's and has been well cared for ever since. This car retains all its original panels except for the trunk pan which was replaced during the restoration. The previous owner had the car since 1998 and drove it maybe 5,000 miles. The car was waxed by hand religiously, and never washed with water. He told us he didn't do a whole lot to the car except for general maintenance. PHS Documentation, window sticker, and previous title are included in the sale. [email protected] History of the Ponitac Lemans The Pontiac Le Mans was a model name applied to compact and intermediate-sized automobiles marketed by the Pontiac division of General Motors from 1962 to 1981. The Tempest line was upsized to an intermediate-sized car on the new GM A platform in 1964, and the Le Mans returned to its role of Tempest trim upgrade with a new 215 CID six-cylinder and a redesigned 326 CID V8. Shortly after the start of the 1964 model year, the Le Mans became available with a new performance package designated as the GTO, or 'Gran Turismo Omologato'. 1964 Pontiac GTO Tribute: The GTO was the brainchild of Pontiac engineer Russell Gee, an engine specialist; Bill Collins, a chassis engineer; and Pontiac chief engineer John DeLorean. In early 1963, General Motors'  management issued an edict banning divisions from involvement in auto racing. This followed the 1957 voluntary ban on automobile racing that was instituted by the Automobile Manufacturers Association. By the early 1960s, Pontiac's  advertising and marketing approach was heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that strategy. With GM's ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac's young, visionary management turned its attention to  emphasizing street performance. The first Pontiac GTO was an option package for the Pontiac Tempest, available with the two-door coupe, hardtop, and convertible body styles. The $295 package included a 389 cu in V8 rated at 325  bhp at 4800 rpm with a single Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust, chromed valve covers and air cleaner, seven-blade clutch fan, a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter, stiffer  springs, larger diameter front sway bar, wider wheels with 7.50 × 14 redline tires, hood scoops, and GTO badges. Optional equipment included a four-speed manual, Super Turbine 300 two-speed automatic transmission, more powerful  "Tri-Power" carburetion (three two-barrel Rochester 2G carburetors) rated at 348 bhp, metallic drum brake linings, limited-slip differential, heavy-duty cooling, ride and handling package, and the usual array of power  and convenience accessories. With every available option, the GTO cost about US$4,500 and weighed around 3,500 lb (1,600 kg). A tachometer was optional, and was placed in the far right dial on the dash. This beautiful GTO Tribute started life as a Lemans and was brought to its current stage in 2006. The most recent owner has over 20 Pontiacs and this vehicle was built and given to his son. The son needed money for a wedding more than a muscle car so now a lucky new owner has the opportunity take over as caretaker for this classic. This Pontiac needs very little and everything works like it should (except AM radio). We wouldn't hesitate to jump in this Pontiac and take a long Sunday drive. It still features its original 326 V8 engine but the original 2bbl intake and manifold has been replaced with a 4bbl set-up. It also features a 3 speed automatic transmission, upgraded front disc brakes, quick-ratio steering, heavy duty front sway bar, and factory A/C that blows cold. Additional features and options on this include; 3.23 Single Track gears, Center Console Storage, Rubber Floormats, Factory AM Radio, Vent Windows, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Mirrors, Dual Exhaust, 14" Spinner Hubcaps, and Goodyear Whitewall Tires! As you will see in the photos  below, this is an exceptional classic Pontiac that can be purchased for only $24,988!  With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful GTO Tribute now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide  complete cargo insurance while in transit. Why wait a week just to be out bid at the last second by another bidder? We sell 90% of our cars with the low "Buy it Now" option. This classic Pontiac is not a vehicle you are going to find at your local dealership. Reserve is set just below the "Buy it Now" price. Why wait? "Buy it Now" and get your new '64 GTO home safe and hassle free! If you are local or have your own transportation arrangements, we may accept a slightly lower offer. * USA - excludes; Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, & Maine.
