For sale is my 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 Targa Coupe. The air cooled Porsche market is on fire and unless your willing to spend $30+k on a decent early 80's 911, the 914 is the next best thing for half the price.This example is equipped with the rarest and most sought after options combination (outside of the ultra rare and expensive 914-6) consisting of the 2.0L engine, 5-speed manual, A/C, and the appearance package. The appearance package consisted of chrome bumpers, chrome luggage rack, gauge cluster stack, and forged aluminum wheels. The engine is original to the car, runs perfectly, and has had zero modifications. The 5-speed operates flawlessly as well. It also comes with all of the original books, keys, and manuals as well as the all important service booklet is stamped from new at Central Porsche Audi in Macon, GA and service records from the second owner from Redbone Garage in Orlando, FL.The overall condition of the car is very nice. There is no rust and the hell hole is extremely clean and preserved. It was a Georgia car most of it's life then spent roughly 8 years in Clearwater, Florida, until I bought it a few months ago and shipped it up to Michigan. The interior is very clean and original with the carpet and seats showing almost no wear. The dash has a couple of small cracks, I bought it this way, but there is a high quality plastic dash pad covering it currently that looks like it's original to the car. It looks so correct that I actually didn't even notice the dash pad until I washed the car last weekend. The color is original to the car and the paint is in very good driver quality condition and with a little work it could be good, not great, show quality. I highly doubt it is original paint as it appears to have had a good quality repaint more than likely a few years ago.Everything works (lights, blinkers, horn, radio, etc...) except for only two inoperable items I've found. First is the clock does not work. Second is the odometer is not currently working. I've had a few classic Porsches over the years and the plastic gear in the housing is notorious for failing. The gentleman I bought it off of said the odometer was working when he bought it with 58k miles and only drove it about 4k miles in his 8 year ownership. With the odometer currently showing 61,045 miles, its very likely that the exact mileage is right around 61,100-61,500 as I've only drove it about 15 miles since I purchased it. The odometer issue is very common and I was confident enough in the condition of the car that I bought it knowing the odometer didn't work.I was originally going to sell this car through my classic car dealership but then I decided I liked it too much and decided to keep it. But things change and I've recently sold my dealership and now I've decided to sell my sweet little 914 as well. The first picture is the day the car arrived in my former dealership warehouse, the second is in one of my private storage garages. As you can see from the pictures, I try very hard to only deal with the highest quality vehicles I can find. It's been parked in front of my 1,900 original mile '89 Turbo Trans Am in the second picture since trailering to one of my garages. It's a quality example at a realistic market asking price given the current state of the air cooled Porsche market as well as the car itself being highly optioned with the most desirable options. I was going to order a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity before listing but it takes 3 weeks to get so I've decided to list it now.The 914 2.0 was the featured car in Hemming's Sports & Exotic Car magazine as the cover story in the July, 2012 edition along with a 6-page spread on specs, enjoyment, maintenance, and a why buy it now write up. Hemming's felt in summer 2012, 2yrs before the air cooled Porsche boom keep in mind, that $21,500 was on the high side with $16,000 as the average. I have it insured with Hagerty and their valuation guide suggests the average example value is $16,000 with a condition 2 at $24,000 and a condition 3 at $15,000. I'm a realistic buyer, seller, and collector and I know it's only worth what someone is willing to pay and I feel $18,000 is a very fair asking price for this vintage air cooled slice of Porsche bliss. I also received a lot of questions and below are the answers: Is the fuel injection system original?-From what I can tell it is. All of the Bosch components are still there and works great. Does it shift through all 5 gears without any grinding?-Yes it does, I took it for a short cruise today and it works great. Any repairs or money to put into it?-It's a classic car and classics are always going to need something, heck, even modern cars do. But you could get in and drive it just as it is just as I do. I will say that it needs an alignment as the steering wheel is not centered straight while driving. I bought it this way and if I can get it into the shop before the end of the listing I will do so. The only other flaws I found are very tiny. A couple of the wheels have residue where wheel weights were in the past, I'll try to remove the residue if it will come off. There is a minor paint blister right above the driver's side door handle, other than that, the paint is very nice. If your local in Southeast MI, I'm planning to take it to the vintage Volkswagen show in Ypsilanti tomorrow 5/17 where it can be seen.

Introduction The 2014 Volkswagen Touareg is such a well-rounded five-passenger SUV that its biggest problem might be the VW badge on its grille. That's because many Americans still think of Volkswagen as a mainstream brand that has no business selling a luxury vehicle. But here's the true Touareg story: This midsize SUV is actually the product of a joint venture with Audi and Porsche, so it has a more regal pedigree than just about anything else in this price range. When we look at the Touareg, we don't see an overpriced Volkswagen -- we see a bargain-priced Cayenne. That said, the VW's interior looks relatively plain, even though the materials are high in quality. And no Touareg can keep pace with the high-performance Cayenne variants. But fundamentally, the Volkswagen's résumé is comparable to that of the Porsche, from its excellent diesel engine option (shared with the Porsche) to its responsive steering and flawless high-speed composure. Naturally, the 2014 Volkswagen Touareg faces formidable competition from midsize SUVs and crossovers sold by traditional luxury automakers. The 2014 BMW X5 and Mercedes M-Class trounce the Touareg in snob appeal, and their first-class cabins (with available three-row seating in the BMW) help justify their higher prices. If it's something family-friendly you're after, the similarly priced, but much roomier three-row 2014 Acura MDX would be a better way to go. These models can also be had with some features not found on the Touareg, such as a rear-seat entertainment system and safety features like blind spot monitoring and on-demand telematics services. On the opposite end of the price spectrum, we'd recommend the multitalented 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which can be had for thousands less than a comparably equipped Touareg. Still, if you're looking for equal parts performance and luxury in an unpretentious package, there aren't many midsize SUVs that put it all together as well as the 2014 Volkswagen Touareg. No Video Content Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The 2014 Volkswagen Touareg is offered in Sport, Lux, X Special Edition, R-Line, Executive and Hybrid trim levels. All but the Hybrid and X Special Edition offer either a gasoline (VR6) or diesel (TDI) V6 engine. The Sport starts with 18-inch wheels, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, LED running lights, foglights, roof rails, heated exterior mirrors, a power liftgate, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, eight-way power front seats (with manual lumbar adjustment), heated front seats, leatherette (premium vinyl) upholstery, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and an eight-speaker sound system with touchscreen control, a six-CD changer, satellite radio and iPod integration. The Sport's optional Navigation package -- standard with the TDI engine -- adds (surprise!) a navigation system as well as keyless entry/ignition, a rearview camera and a hands-free power liftgate that you can open by waving your foot under the rear bumper. The Lux starts with the Sport with Navigation's equipment and adds 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, power-folding exterior mirrors, leather upholstery, front-seat power lumbar adjustment, driver memory functions and power rear-seat releases in the cargo area. Based on the Lux with the TDI engine, the X Special Edition features exclusive paint, unique 19-inch wheels, LED taillights and upgraded leather upholstery and interior trim. Compared to the Lux, the R-Line loses the hands-free liftgate, but otherwise starts with the V6 Lux's features and adds 20-inch wheels, a sport body kit, a sport-tuned suspension and LED taillights. The Executive has all of the V6 Lux's features, including the hands-free liftgate, and adds distinctive 20-inch wheels of its own, LED taillights, rear parking sensors, a top-view parking display with four cameras, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and a premium 10-speaker Dynaudio sound system. Although the Hybrid is the most expensive Touareg, it downgrades to 19-inch wheels and the standard audio system (versus the Dynaudio setup). Otherwise, the Hybrid is equipped similarly to the Executive, and it also adds a power-adjustable steering column and passenger-seat memory settings. Powertrains and Performance The 2014 Volkswagen Touareg's engine lineup starts with a 3.6-liter gasoline V6 that generates 280 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The TDI models boast a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6 rated at 240 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard either way. During Edmunds testing, a Touareg TDI ran from zero to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds, which is about the same as a gas-powered V6 midsize SUV and pretty quick for a diesel. The Touareg Hybrid has its own thing going on, featuring a supercharged 3.0-liter gasoline V6 paired with an electric motor. The combination cranks out a whopping 380 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque, whisking the Hybrid from zero to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds, according to Edmunds testing. The eight-speed auto and all-wheel drive are also standard here. EPA fuel economy estimates for the base gasoline V6 version stand at 19 mpg combined (17 mpg city/23 mpg highway), while the TDI V6 rates a remarkable 23 mpg combined (20 city/29 highway). The Hybrid disappoints on this front, checking in at 21 mpg combined (20 city/24 highway). Properly equipped, the Touareg can tow up to 7,700 pounds, which is more than most competitors. Safety The 2014 Volkswagen Touareg comes standard with traction and stability control, antilock disc brakes, hill hold assist, front side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. A rearview camera is standard on every Touareg except the V6 Sport, while an upgraded top-view camera is standard on Executive and Hybrid models. Note that VW's new Car-Net telematics system is not offered on the 2014 Touareg. In Edmunds brake testing, the Touareg Hybrid stopped from 60 mph in an impressive 121 feet and the TDI, at 123 feet, nearly matched that effort. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Touareg its top rating of "Good" in all crash-test categories, though it has not subjected the Touareg to its new small-overlap frontal-offset test. The Touareg's seat/head restraint design was also rated "Good" for whiplash protection in rear impacts. Interior Design and Special Features The Touareg's interior lacks the glitz and glamour of traditional luxury-brand SUVs, but there's a strong vibe of quality and craftsmanship nonetheless. The materials are generally rich-feeling and pleasing to the eye, while the knobs and levers move with well-weighted precision. Although the Touareg doesn't provide a fancy infotainment system with a silly name, it does give you a standard touchscreen interface with a large screen and sharp graphics. Even better, it's easy to use. The Executive model's punchy Dynaudio sound system is one of our favorites; shame you can't get it on lower trim levels. The Touareg is strictly a two-row, five-passenger SUV, but its rear seat is quite versatile, offering reclining seatback cushions and 6.3 inches of fore/aft seat travel. Rear-seat legroom is competitive for a midsize SUV, while the seat bottom is high enough to give rear passengers both solid thigh support and a nice view out. Cargo capacity measures 32.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 64 cubic feet with the 60/40-split rear seatbacks folded down. Driving Impressions There's a sense of substance and purpose in the way the 2014 Volkswagen Touareg goes down the road, but it's not so large that it ever feels unwieldy. In fact, thanks to exceptionally responsive steering for an SUV, the Touareg can be genuinely fun to drive. It also excels on the highway, where low noise levels and exemplary stability give it a cool, confident demeanor that's instantly likable. Off-road, the Touareg remains composed despite its lack of low-range gearing, powering through washboard roads and light-duty trails without breaking a sweat. The Touareg's regular V6 engine delivers smooth, eager power, but the TDI V6 is where it's at if you want both performance and efficiency, not to mention superior driving range. Seller is not making any warranties, express or implied and SELLER EXPRESSLY EXCLUDES ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF ANY NATURE. Seller expressly does not warrant the correctness of the odometer reading, year of manufacture, make, model, class or style, prior use or condition of the Vehicle. Buyer acknowledges that prior to the sale, Seller has provided to Buyer the opportunity to inspect the Vehicle or have it inspected by a mechanic of Buyer's choosing at Buyer's expense. By accepting delivery of the Vehicle Buyer agrees that the condition of the Vehicle is satisfactory and acceptable. Buyer agrees that any and all advertisements relating to the Vehicle are not warranties made by Seller and that they should not be relied upon by Buyer in making this purchase. Seller disclaims all liability for any mistakes, inaccurate descriptions or other misstatements in its advertisements and Buyer agrees that Buyer's opportunity to inspect the Vehicle allows Buyer to verify the accuracy of any advertisements before purchase. Buyer agrees that unless such promises or representations have been reduced to writing as part of this Order, that Buyer is not relying on such promises or representations in purchasing the Vehicle and Buyer waives the right to seek to enforce such promises or representations. Buyer acknowledges that the Vehicle being purchased was acquired by Seller through trade, a public or private sale or at an auction under circumstances in which the prior owner's registration and/or use of the Vehicle may not have been disclosed to Seller. Even if not designated on this Order, Buyer acknowledges that the Vehicle being purchased may have been titled, registered or used as a (a) short term lease vehicle, (b) taxicab; or (c) police vehicle. In addition, the Vehicle may be (a) rebuilt, assembled from parts, or combined; (b) a kit car, glider kit, replica vehicle; (c) total loss vehicle, previously damaged, (d) a flood vehicle , (e) a not actual mileage vehicle and/or (f) a non-conforming vehicle as that term is defined under Chapter 681 of the Florida Statutes. It is Buyer's sole obligation to independently verify the Vehicle's prior use or designation prior to purchase, if these items are material to Buyer. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle as well as to research title and accidents history and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to make a purchase decision based upon that judgment solely. Seller assumes no responsibility for any previous damage or accidents the vehicle might had in the past. Buyer does not rely on any statements from Seller relating to the history of the vehicle. Buyer expressly acknowledges that the Vehicle being purchased under this Order has been involved in an prior accident, has salvage history and sustained damage as a result of such accident and that repairs have been done to it. Seller makes no representations as to the nature and extent of such accident damage and/or the nature and sufficiency of the repairs. The damage to the Vehicle may include damage that resulted in the Vehicle being deemed a total loss by an insurance company. The Vehicle's status as a total loss vehicle may or may not be reflected on the Vehicle's certificate of title and/or in the Vehicle's title history. Seller makes no warranties, representation or assurances that the motor vehicle contains only original manufacturer installed or manufacturer rebuilt components, parts or accessories. Buyer agrees that the Vehicle has been delivered to Buyer and Buyer accepts delivery of the Vehicle in Florida, at Seller's principle place of business. If Buyer is shipping the Vehicle out of state, then the person accepting delivery of the Vehicle for Buyer shall be deemed Buyer's agent for accepting delivery of the Vehicle in Florida. This Order and the entire transaction between the parties shall be governed by Florida law. Arbitration.- The parties to this Order hereby agree that any and all Claims (defined below) shall be decided through binding arbitration as provided for herein. In addition to all other rights and remedies available to Seller at law or in equity, Seller has the following rights and remedies under this Order: (a) Reclamation.- Seller may enter into Buyer's property and reclaim the Vehicle with or without notification to Buyer. Seller may also make a written demand on Seller to return the Vehicle and Buyer agrees to do so within 24 hours of such demand. (b) Disposition of Trade - Buyer agrees that immediately upon Buyer's execution of this Order, Seller may dispose of Buyer's Trade in any commercially reasonable manner, including the sale of the Trade to a third party, retail or wholesale. In the event that this Order is not completed for any reason or in the event that it is rescinded for any reason, Seller agrees that Buyer may retain the proceeds of the sale of the Trade to offset its damages, if any. If Seller does not have any damages relating to rescission or failure of this Order to be completed, Seller may retain any costs and reconditioning expenses relating to the sale plus a 15% commission on the sale from the sale proceeds. The remaining amount shall be delivered to Buyer in full satisfaction of any claims relating to the Trade.(c) In the event that Buyer pursues any claim for rescission of this transaction, Seller shall have the right to set off against Buyer's damages or to assert as an independent claim, a claim for the reasonable value of Buyer's use of the vehicle, including depreciation and mileage of the Vehicle. If any term of this Order is held to be unconscionable or unenforceable, for any reason, by any court of competent jurisdiction, this Order shall be construed as if such clause were never a part of this Order and the balance of the terms of this Order shall be binding on the parties. The waiver or invalidity of any provision of this Order shall not effect the binding nature of the remaining provisions. No breach of this Order by Buyer shall be deemed waived unless such waiver is agreed to by Seller in writing. The parties agree that any modification of this Order must be made in writing and signed by the parties in order to be valid. Buyer agrees that Buyer's deposit on the Vehicle is non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Buyer and Seller.In addition to any other breaches of this Order, the following expressly constitute acts of default under this Order: (a) The refusal of any financial institution to finance any portion of the purchase price; (b) The failure of Buyer to make any payment required under any accompanying finance agreement; (c) The failure of Buyer to provide Seller with a lien free title to any Trade or the failure of Buyer to pay Seller any amount in excess of the payoff on the Trade after demand from Seller; (d) Any misstatement or misrepresentation by Buyer, whether intentional or not, on any document submitted to Seller in connection with this transaction. (e) The refusal of any financial institution to honor any check, draft or other instrument presented by Seller in connection with the acquisition of the Vehicle.
