This 2007 Charger packs a HEMI wallop and with only 112k miles it's barely broken-in yet! This car just recently came out of service with a local small suburb where it was used since new by one of their detectives so you can rest assured that it has been treated well and superbly maintained. This is no stripped-down work model either. They loaded it up with tons of options such as power windows/locks/seat, tilt/cruise, AM/FM Stereo CD/MP3, and more! With a rear spoiler, stripe package, and 20" alloy wheels; this car really stands out from the crowd. It runs strong and still manages to get good fuel economy at the same time. It comes with 3 keys and two keyless entry remotes too. We've had this car for nearly a year and have put many miles on it ourselves so when we tell you this car is ready to hit the road, we aren't just whistling Dixie...we've put it to the test! Best of all, we got a great buy on it that we're passing along to you in the form of a LOW RESERVE that is THOUSANDS BELOW the book value! Dodge Charger R/T Road Test This one's a keeper. Road Test In 1844, Alexandre Dumas wrote Les Trois Mousquetaires. The best-known of the protagonists was D'Artagnan. Then there was, uh, Porthos. And finally came Curly. Maybe it was Annette. In like fashion, DaimlerChrysler has trotted out its own trio of swarthy swordsmen, led initially by the popular and potent Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum and followed now by the Charger. All three benefit from the same 120.0-inch Mercedes-Benz- derived chassis, and not surprisingly, all three drive similarly. What is surprising is that the Charger shares not a single body panel with its brother mousquetaires and is most obviously differentiated from the 300 by its rear-three-quarter haunches-"kangaroo hips," as one onlooker called them-and by a grille that doesn't so earnestly mimic Jay Leno's chin. The Dodge guys insist that the four round taillamps recollect those on a 1968 Charger. See 'em? No? That's because the lamps are hidden beneath lenses apparently plucked from a Stratus. In fact, if you recognize any familiar Charger styling cues, give us a shout. There are, incredibly, five Charger chargé d'affaires. The bottom-feeder SE ($22,295) features a 250-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 and includes a ton of stuff-17-inch tires, traction control, ABS, a CD player, stability control. It's more fun to drive than a V-6 Toyota Camry and is a lot rarer, although that may change if Dodge achieves its goal of selling a quarter of all Chargers to fleets-among them fuzz fleets, so commit this car's grille to memory now. There's another V-6 iteration, the SXT ($25,995), with lots more stuff standard. Next comes the R/T, with leather seats and the multidisplacement 340-horse Hemi ($29,995). Let us pause, here, to repeat that-a 340-hp rear-drive sedan for 30 grand, the sort of fun-to-dollar ratio that recollects, say, a Mustang GT, whose two doors remind us that the original Charger, alas, was also a coupe. For an extra $1600, you can order your R/T with the Road/Track Performance Group-no Car and Driver option was even considered, the jerks-which includes firmer self-leveling shocks, 18-inch Michelins, tighter "9-land" steering (our guess is that it's the G7 nations plus Alabama and Arkansas), beefier seat bolsters, and an extra 10 ponies summoned mostly via a center muffler with a straighter pass-through and a huskier singing voice. That's the car we selected for this test-an R/T with R/T, as it were. Next comes the Charger Daytona R/T ($32,495), identical to our tester except for a Pep Boys decklid spoiler and the billboard-size words "HEMI" and "DAYTONA" reversed out of flat-black paint, demonstrating to passing constables that you are a person of limited judgment and excess cash. And later this fall will come the SRT8 with a 425-hp Hemi-the ultimate Charger-whose price has yet to be fixed. No all-wheel-drive Charger will be offered. All five include a Mercedes-designed five-speed automatic with a slick manumatic that is perfectly positioned and quick to respond-bump left for downshifts, right for upshifts. During our tests, the transmission seemed telepathic about summoning the correct gear and snicked off seamless WOT upshifts. Our lone beef was one of those Are-you-sure-you-want-to-do-this? pauses before kickdowns from fifth. Mercedes likewise penned the steering rack, and it's a beaut. On freeways, the front tires evince fierce dedication to straight-ahead, and the slight on-center slack you notice in a 300C, which we drove back-to-back, has been eliminated. For the most part, effort is on the high side-and we'd have preferred to feel a little more road texture-but the heaviness disappears at parking speeds. In any event, the wheel itself is NASCAR large, so there's no trouble deriving leverage. We hammered our Charger around Virginia International Raceway and were surprised at the car's balance and general neutrality. It's difficult to rotate the tail-the stability control can't be completely disabled and is not enamored of power oversteer-but you can slide the car in modest but controllable drifts that would have amused even Mel Kenyon. Brake feel is terrific and allows your foot to reliably sense the transition to anti-lock. Better still is the 169-foot stopping distance, impressive for a two-ton anything. The R/T's rotors are big (13.6 inches fore, 12.6 inches aft), and we noticed virtually no fade, even at the racetrack. Throughout, the Charger's body motions remained as studiously supervised as a Vassar faculty party. The firmer optional dampers eliminated even the minor dive and squat we've noticed in the 300C. In fact, during an 800-mile two-stop blast from VIR to Detroit, the ride-and-handling trade-off proved nothing short of miraculous until we encountered Michigan's Baghdad-quality potholes. Even then, the platform held as firmly and shiver-free as a bridge abutment, and no subassemblies rattled or squeaked. Nevertheless, if you dwell in a frost-heave state and want to ensure that your Charger remains an all-star long-distance cruiser, you may want to dial back to the standard R/T suspension. At least sample it. Our 350-hp Hemi delivered 60 mph in a stunning 5.6 seconds--1.3 seconds quicker than a Pontiac Bonneville GXP V-8, 0.4 second ahead of a Cadillac STS V-8. At the drag strip, the Charger was within 2 mph of a Mustang GT's trap speed, should you wish to compare apples and avocados. Throttle tip-in was as smooth as new vinyl siding (although the idle remains a little lumpy), and the stability control even permitted us to smoke the rear Michelins for three or so feet--just enough to let the neighbors know that, yes, we're driving a practical sedan, but no, it ain't no Camry. Speaking of practicality, the trunk is flat-floored and as big as an Audi A6's, and the rear seats fold flat in a 60/40 split. Two adults can ride comfortably in the rear, in part because there's room to nestle your feet beneath the front seats. But the driveshaft hump is 10 inches wide and 8 inches tall, transforming the rear center rider not so much into Hump Boy as the Hunchback of Notre Dame. The cluster's four huge gauges are the essence of clarity, with black numerals on white faces. The Mercedes-sourced cruise control locks on with the dedication of Republicans on a St. Andrew's golf junket, and that big ol' baseball bat of a Benz turn-signal/wiper stalk is a paradigm of ergonomic grace. In fact, all the secondary controls are intuitive, unless you order the nav system, which scatters the radio controls to the four winds and adds a sedimentary layer of complexity. Almost everyone carped about the Charger's funereal black-and-gray interior, cheapened by rock-hard armrests and a crinkly dashboard vinyl that would have been more appropriate in a mud-splattered Dakota. And of course the Charger shares its stubby windshield with the turret-topped 300, meaning you'll have to crouch to view stoplights. It's like having a cowboy hat pulled down around your ears. Nearly 40 years have passed since Dodge first struck a batch of Charger Hemi badges, spawning a legend that quickly morphed into a flaccid luxo-coupe, then into a Bo and Luke Duke stunt-car joke, then into a disposable front-drive L-car. Chrysler now appears serious about repairing that sad legacy, having invested $1 billion on the first two mousquetaires and a bonus $125 million for assembly-line mods for the third. Right out of the gate, the Charger has made a name for itself by earning a five-star NHTSA rating for frontal impacts, even as Kasey Kahne scored the model's first NASCAR victory since 1977. Of les trois mousquetaires, the Charger R/T is the most fun. It's a notch more visceral--more connected and direct than its brothers--and is the only family member to feel poised on a racetrack. Too bad the Dodge engineers couldn't shear a couple-hundred pounds from the Charger's 4141-pound waistline, which would have altered its personality even more. Chrysler had hoped this 145-mph stroll down memory lane might recollect the Charger's roots as a hippie-era muscle-car coupe, but that didn't happen. Instead, the car more closely recollects the original Road Runner, delivering a decidedly full-size-sedan feel--tall, slab-sided, wide--and only rarely feeling awkward or heavy on its feet, a car made nimble through the miracle of horsepower. Its styling may not inspire, but the Charger R/T is what to buy if your spouse says a Mustang is too impractical. 2007 Dodge Charger (2nd review) The 2007 Dodge Charger is a modern-styled, four-door coupe that combines rear-wheel-drive muscle car power, sports car handling and leading-edge technology to deliver a thrilling driving experience. New for 2007 are optional all-wheel-drive models that offer best-in-passenger-car, four-season traction. And today, this sedan is a banner showpiece that celebrates the fusion of some of Ford's greatest design work and some of the best modern mechanical components money can buy. One look down its profile reveals high quality workmanship that's top notch in every way. A close investigation of its body panels reveals even surfaces that are free of ripples and major imperfections. And from its nose to its fat fenders and humpback roofline the car's profile creates one cohesive classic that, despite significant customization, is both tasteful and easily recognized. The beauty of a well done street rod is often found in the simplicity of its execution. In a nod to the hobby's old school hot rodding roots, the best cars are usually topped with a stripped down, all business body that emphasizes their purpose-built, high performance nature. So, when you craft a world class custom like this killer '37 Ford, the best thing to do is let its original curves do the talking and simply enhance what's already there. Our enhancements begin with a Downs stainless grille which rides between two Bob Drake-supplied '39 Ford headlights and two Don's Hot Rods stainless bumpers. Behind that grille a solid steel hood, which now features filled side panels, meets a stainless-trimmed windshield that's devoid of traditional weatherstripping and cleared by relocated wipers. Behind that hood, tinted side and back glass reflects a nice pair of Barry White SRR mirrors and small, polished door handles. Below that glass, modified running boards flow toward lengthened rear fenders that are dotted with clear Ford Escort-supplied tail lights. And at the back of those running boards, an electronically lifted trunk motors above a second Don's Hot Rods stainless bumper and a manual flip-down license plate. Hit number "V" on this slick Ford's small gray key fob and its electronic clamshell hood tilts to reveal a fully detailed GM LT1 V8 that looks awesome and, with roughly 275 horsepower, offers solid, reliable motivation. Built to tear up the street and wow show goers alike, this fully-sorted package combines a sturdy iron block with lightweight aluminum heads, aftermarket fuel injectors and a computer from a fourth generation Trans Am to create razor-sharp throttle response and a torque band that's as wide as Texas. At the front of the body-matched mill a Street and Performance serpentine system, which is equipped with a full set of polished pulleys, spins a fresh alternator and a Vintage Air AC compressor at the sides of a billet air cleaner that's sealed around a small re-usable filter element. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a chrome throttle body into a factory LT1 intake which is bolted down over completely stock internals. High octane fossils are provided by a GM electronic fuel injection system. Sparks are sequenced through high performance plug wires. Spent gases are whisked away by a slick pair of ceramic coated Sanderson headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a polished Walker radiator that's complete with a chrome cap, chrome water tubes and a quick-spinning electric puller fan. On the visual end of the spectrum, silver injector covers and chrome "CHEVROLET" branded valve covers provide a nice contrast to the car's bright exterior paint while covering the less attractive part of GM's block design. The glossy engine compartment, which includes a custom fabricated firewall, has been completely painted, jammed and detailed to match that bright exterior paint. And niceties such as a "Fat Fender Ford" motif, a full assortment of polished hardware and a graceful chrome cowl cover add the kind of flash and detail that pushes the judges right over the edge! Toss this solid custom on a lift and you'll find a fully sorted undercarriage that, despite its road-ready mechanicals, is exceptionally clean and displays very few signs of wear. While its all-steel body was off, and being refinished, this Ford's factory bones were replaced by a custom-fabricated chassis that, with the help of a few floorpan modifications, enables stellar road manners and a much more precise street presence. At the front of that new chassis, a polished Heidts Superide suspension makes excellent use of narrowed stainless control arms, chrome Aldan coil overs, two inch drop spindles and a chrome Flaming River rack and pinion steering system. At the back of that new chassis a Heidts independent suspension, which is completely stainless, chromed and polished, is fitted with a four more Aldan coil overs. And the car's original four wheel drum brake system has been freshened to better-than-new condition with the help of four polished Wilwood calipers, drilled and slotted front rotors and solid rear rotors. At the center of the floors, a polished 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission makes good use of a polished aluminum driveshaft and a polished aluminum Ford nine inch rear end that's complete with a posi-traction differential and big 3.70 gears. At the sides of that awesome driveline, the aforementioned Sanderson headers dump spent gases into a fresh stainless exhaust system that's complete with sinister Borla mufflers. And at the corners of the car, beautiful Bonspeed Crocus wheels spin 225/40ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR radials in front of 275/30ZR20 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR radials. According to this Ford's current owner, everything on its highly hand-fabricated chassis is either chrome, stainless or polished aluminum. And naturally, new stainless lines, a full set of braided hoses, a stainless Rock Valley fuel tank and a whole array of finishing hardware was carefully installed during its painstaking re-assembly. Open the doors of this classic sedan and you'll find a tasteful custom interior which combines the car's spectacular House of Kolor paint with supple Lexus leather that feels nice enough to adorn the centerpiece of your living room. The firm and modern buckets, four all total, are supportive, feel soft enough to take a nap on, and feature custom "FFF" (Fat Fender Ford) center buttons. At the sides of those seats custom door panels hang sculpted leather armrests between four power windows and four "FFF" branded speakers. Between those seats two custom all-steel consoles prop controls for the car's Vintage Air climate system, a clean Lokar shifter, a small chrome gear indicator and a fifth, "V8" branded speaker above premium gray carpet. In front of those seats a custom dash, which is constructed of solid aluminum, cants frenched Haneline gauges toward the driver while pointing polished Phipps AC vents at both the passengers and said driver. And above those seats, a custom leather headliner is stretched tightly around body-matched accents, small orange courtesy lamps and a third Barry White SRR mirror. In front of the driver, a polished Budnik steering wheel spins on a polished Billet Industries tilt steering column. At the back of the cockpit, a custom upholstered trunk conceals two Optima batteries, a 500 watt JL Audio amplifier and an eight inch subwoofer behind a remote controlled Custom Autosound 10 disc CD changer and a small Sony DVD player. That DVD player is connected to a 17 inch trunk-mounted video screen, two trunk mounted speakers, two wireless Sony headsets and two additional Sony video monitors that are located in the backs of the front seats. And from its completely hidden fasteners to its completely detailed door jams, this car's cockpit has to be one of the finest interiors we've ever offered. This is my 1989 BMW 325iX. I purchased it from Virginia two years ago: it was the best example I could find of an iX that was in good physical shape as I wanted a rust-free car. I love the E30 and had never owned one, and the all-wheel drive was a good way to “justify” having another car which would not be a RWD toy that has to be put away in the winter. This car was the best I could find in four months of searching at the time. I am putting it up for sale now, along with one of my other cars (1973 Alfa 2000 GTV), as I am making room for another acquisition. I do like this car a lot – the E30 really is a classic you can drive every day, and with the AWD in the 325iX you can do so even in winter. I recently acquired a 1990 911 Carrera 4, which admittedly is a more exciting every day classic, hence another reason the E30 is being offered. I have put a good deal of work into this car over the past two years. Highlights are below and I have receipts and service records for it all. · Body is rust free. Paint is in great shape as the photos show. It really does look this good in person – white is a color that ages well and is forgiving to scratches and wear, unlike my favorite color, black. · AWD works as verified on lift. No leaks or issues with transfer case and coupling. · Interior is also excellent. o No tears or even scuffs in the vinyl upholstery. o Headliner is great. o Dash has no cracks or scratches or fading. o Carpets are clean and intact. o All buttons and controls present and functioning as intended (more below). o The arm rest between the front seats is a Husco unit with integrated cup-holders. o The car has the winter ski pass-through in the rear center armrest. · Service/work performed: o New shocks, springs, tie-rods, tires (Sumitomo Touring) – July 2015 o New timing belt and tensioner, valve cover gasket – July 2015 o New front brake calipers, pads, rotors – July 2015 o Odometer gears replaced – Aug 2015 o Replaced heater core, heater valve – Aug 2015 o Replaced oil filter housing seal and changed oil to synthetic 5W30 – Aug 2015 o AC converted to R-134a – Aug 2015 § Hoses, compressor and dryer belts replaced as part of this project. o Tune-up: - Sep 2015 § New plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. o Cooling system overhaul: - Sep 2015 § New water pump, radiator hoses, pump pulley, thermostat, temp sensor, temp sender, seal rings. o Power steering fluid and suction hose replaced – Oct 2015 o Replace battery and horn siren – Dec 2015 o Fuel level sender and pressure regulator replaced – Jan 2016 o UUC short shift kit installed (fantastic upgrade) – Feb 2016 o Oil service and fluids refresh – July 2016 o AC belt replaced and compressor lubed – July 2016 o Brake service – Aug 2016 o Brake service – Aug 2016 § New rear discs, pads, sensors, left caliper. § Brake fluid replaced. o Exhaust – Nov 2016 § System replaced with cat-back unit. · What does not work: o The rear windows do not go down. I identified the problem as new motors for both sides – fuses, power, are all correct. o I have not replaced the motors as these are each close to $400 new and I could not find used at a worthwhile price. I also never have need to open the rear windows. o Despite my efforts with the fuel reading repairs, the fuel gauge is not accurate after ~150 miles on a tank. I use the trip meter for accuracy and this works well enough that I have not pursued further repairs to the fuel reading. · Everything else works: o Heat works great, AC (converted refrigerant) works great. All vents and directionals work as designed. o Sunroof is manual and works well. No leaks. o All lights, electronics, gauges (other than fuel) work well. o Even the cruise control works. o And the heated seats. o No warning lights on dash cluster or on the diagnostic panel above the rear view mirror are on. These diagnostics all work as they should. o Spare wheel and tire, jack, and factory tool-kit are present and correct. o Central locking works properly and I installed keyless entry also – works great. o This has the BMW eight speaker stereo option. I replaced the head unit with a Kenwood KMM-BT312U. Bluetooth mic is installed above driver side visor with hidden wire. Sound through the eight speakers is very good and the screen color is matched to the orange gauge lighting. o The BBS wheels are OEM 15” units. The car drives really well and tracks straight and true. It is fun and chuckable the way an E30 should be, and it really sings at above 30 mph in the E30 sweet spot. The UUC short shift kit is a great upgrade. If it did not compete with my 964, and I did not want the garage space, I would hold onto it. That being said I have priced this knowing the work that has been put into it: a future owner will be in good shape reliability wise.
