There is only 5,200 miles on this car and it was always garaged!! It was owned by only ONE OWNER, who bought it new in 2009! These are limited edition Carol Shelby SVT cars that were built for a short run between 2008-2009. Only 1,571 units exist which pays homage to the 1968 Limited Production GT500KRs. We have number 372! The Shelby GT500KR features a carbon fiber composite hood with functional scoops and vents, twist-lock hood pins modeled on the original 1968 KR, a unique carbon fiber splitter, carbon fiber mirror caps, and functional brake cooling ducts. The suspension was tuned by SVT with unique spring rates, dampers, stabilizer bars, and strut tower brace and was sourced from Ford Racing. Unique Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires were developed for the KR with a unique compound. With the same tread pattern as the Eagle F1 Supercar tire on the 2007–2009 GT500 they can only be identified by a unique Goodyear "Wingedfoot" emblem on the sidewall. 2009 GT500KRAll Shelbys are rare, but 09KR009 has perhaps the most unique of ANY of the '08-'09 GT500KRs - this is due to its ownership history and the condition of the car. Furnished to serious inquiries, the story of how this car came to be built and delivered makes 09KR009 - the 9th car produced in 2009 - the late-model Shelby equivalent to finding a unicorn in a haystack. The next owner of this car will be part of a story that involves Ford Motor Company executives, promises made, promises broken, amends made, and a once-in-a-lifetime meeting with a tall Texan wearing a black hat.There were only 712 GT500KRs built in 2009. That's 299 less than the 1011 of the 2008 models that were eventually produced. When you do the same math for just the USA models (i.e., excluding Canadian models), there's approxamitely 500 fewer 2009 models than 2008's. With approximately a scant 500 cars produced for the USA, the 2009 model is actually twice as rare as a 2008 model.Shelby 09KR009 is now for sale by the original owner. This stunning example was purchased through Sanderson Ford in Phoenix, AZ but delivered to Shelby American in Las Vegas, NV. It was specially ordered per the owner's specifications, including taking delivery from Carrol Shelby himself. During the delivery process, Shelby autographed the glove box/airbag cover. As anyone who has gotten an autograph from Shelby knows, he charges a donation to his charity EVERY time, but also would give a certificate of authenticity, which I have. Signed just 3 years prior to his passing, the shaky hand of an old legend is shown in the autograph's script. There ain't no more like this.It is fully equipped with every single available option. Powered by the proven 5.4 Liter DOHC supercharged V8 producing 540hp with a 6-speed short-throw transmission, carbon composite hood (a nearly $20,000 part new), 20" Alcoa aluminum KR-specific wheels, and a 3.73 rear axle. I've just turned 50 and must be going through a mid-life thing because, with much heartache and reluctance, I have decided to sell my project to purchase a Harley. The "Buy It Now" $9500 US is the price I paid for the car. You are getting the parts and memorbilia for free. So if you are a Mustang fan and are looking for a unique winter project I doubt you will find anything better for the money. Why build a Shelby clone when you can start with the real thing? When was the last time you saw a 07 GT (never mind a real Shelby) with only 9k miles. I have a '07 Shelby GT (NOT A GT500) salvage car that I brought up from Pensylvania. The car has not been registered in Canada so what I have for paperwork is a Pensylvania Salvage Certificate, a bill of sale and all appropriate paperwork for the car to come across the border. It has a bent frame on front drivers rail and both driver and passenger dash air bags are deployed but not the ones in the seats. The doors line up perfectly and open and close beautifully. The car has always started rite up on 1st try until recently. The battery died and for some reason, it won't start since. I don't hear the fuel pump prime so it is a fuel issue. I know it is something minor but have not had the time (7 and 9 year old daughters) to investigate further. Well, that takes care of the bad so let us hear the good. At Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas, about 5632 California Specials were converted to Shelby GT cars for the 07 model year. They were only available in the USA at select Ford Dealers. These cars were not sold in Canada so you don't see very many of them around up here.
