By bidding on this auction, YOU are entering into a legal and binding contract to purchase the car described above; 2. That contract to purchase the car shall be construed under the laws of the state of California, that the state courts in California shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any legal action brought to enforce the terms of the purchase contract, and that venue shall be exclusively in the Superior Court, State of California, in and for the County of Riverside; 3. Non-paying bidders will not be tolerated. If you are the highest bidder, YOU have entered into a legally binding contract to purchase the car YOU bid on. YOUR failure to pay the full purchase price will result in legal action being taken against YOU for the full purchase price of the car, the costs of advertising the car on eBay-or any other internet site-the costs associated with the auction, the costs of relisting the car and any other costs associated with YOUR failure to pay the full purchase price, including but not limited to reasonable attorney's fees and court costs; 4. Electric Garage will not take responsibility for any car that does not meet YOUR expectations because every piece of description for a car not owned by Electric Garage is purely the opinion of the owner. While Electric Garage accepts the description and representations made by the owner, Electric Garage will, upon request by YOU, help to verify items and answer questions about the car BEFORE YOU BID; 9. Electric Garage encourages all bidders, BEFORE they bid, to arrange for an inspection and appraisal of the car by a third party so that YOU, as the potential high bidder, feel secure in entering a legally binding contract to pay for the car. The cost of such an appraisal or inspection is approximately $200 US and may be more depending on the nature and in-depth quality of the inspection/appraisal; 10. Electric Garage provides a secure financial transaction for both parties to ensure that YOU get YOUR car along with the associated title and paperwork from the current owner of the car and that the current owner of the car gets paid in a timely fashion; 11. Electric Garage, can and will upon request, help arrange for all domestic and international shipments of the car and will ensure that the car successfully crosses any international border so that YOU GET YOUR car with clear title and hassle free. There may be an additional cost associated with this service; 12. Remember, the highest bidder has entered a legally binding contract to purchase the car. Cobra Chassis Instruction Book, Shelby factory invoice, and period brochures. Comes with original tools, tool bag, jack, soft top, side curtains, and tonneau cover While working as an aerospace engineer at Douglas Aircraft in 1964, John Hector began his search for a Cobra. He had driven a classmate's Cobra after college and had become entranced by the prospect of owning one himself. He inquired after a few used cars, until he came upon a new 289 Cobra in Utah. Walter Larson Ford in Murray, Utah was anxious to move their Cobra before winter set in, so a deal was struck and on December 23, 1964 Hector boarded a plane and set off for Utah to collect his car. The original sticker price was $6465, and the final sale price was only $5299. Quite the deal indeed. Unfortunately they had not beaten the onset of winter in Utah, and snow had started to fall. So Hector did what any young American would do with a new Cobra in the snow, he fitted a set of rear winter tires and began the 800 mile drive over the mountains to his parents' house in Portland Oregon. He was turned back at the Cascade Mountains because he had inadvertently planned his trip during what would become known as the "The Christmas Flood of 1964", the worst storm the Northwest had seen in recorded history. Thankfully Hector and the Cobra survived the journey, and they made it to Portland on Christmas Day. Hector would bring the Cobra home to Anaheim, California, and would go on to use the car as his daily driver for the next two years. During that time he would compete in a few autocross events in LA, San Diego, and Portland. In 1973 the car would be repainted in its original red. That same year Hector would move to Oregon, and the Cobra would be set aside, and driven infrequently, except for occasional local vintage sports car rallies. CSX 2337 has never been in an accident, and the aluminum body remains completely original. The engine, transmission, and rear end are original to the car. Even the original spare tire, which has never been used, is included with the car. This is a 2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H. It was one of 500 produced for the 40th Anniversary of the "Original" 1966 Hertz Rent-A-Racer. It is near mint in every respect. Everything is working. It has all the power equipment that it should from the Ford factory and all the upgrades that came from Shelby American in Las Vegas. Virtually all 500 were automatics. Every Hertz Mustang started out life as a standard Black Mustang GT...then it was shipped to Shelby American and they did some pretty serious upgrades to the car. Gold center stripes were added over the center of the car from front to tail. Gold side stripes added to the rocker panels....to this day....the only Black and Gold Mustangs are the GT-H series for Hertz. The original Mustang Alloys were used to save some expense, but the Pirelli P Zero tires, were an upgrade. Shelby also installed a Sirius Satellite radio control on the center console of every GT-H. Some were removed after Hertz service. This one is still fully in tact and works!! I added the 40th Anniversary Floor mats. One of the last sets available. Includes the Trunk mat too. The first owner also bought the GT-H "Cap Package". It consists of the GT-H wheel center caps and the Oil Filler, Washer Filler, Coolant Over-Flow, Power Steering Fluid, and Power Brake Fluid Caps under the hood. He also replaced all the standard star bolts in and around the engine compartment with stainless steel scalloped cap bolts. It all looks fantastic! I have all the original caps and bolts. They will go with the car to the new owner. An original set of Ford floor mats is also included. Now here's a partial list of what American Shelby did to upgrade this Mustang to GT-H status....3.55 rear end. X-Pipe Exhaust, including over-sized stainless steel dual exhaust tips. Handling Package including front and rear Torsion bars, Struts in front and Shocks in the rear. Power Package: Exhaust, and Cold Air Intake.Front grill, first owner also added the lower stainless bar grill. Front Fascia. Side scoops on left and right sides.Hood Pins and brackets with retaining wire. New Hood. Shelby badging all around including special car number and Carrol Shelby simulated autograph on the center section of the dashboard. Side "Hertz" badges. Also an engine security wire seal. It's still there. It was to prevent someone from renting it and swapping out the engine for a standard V-8. I have all the original Hertz paperwork that was given to the first private party owner. Hertz Check-in sheet. Ford Check-in sheet.Original Invoice. Original Window Sticker from Ford. Original Window Sticker from American Shelby. And the Original MSO that Ford crated and gave to Hertz to license the car. The original California title issued to Hertz. This one was delivered to San Diego, Ca. Where it spent it's entire in-service life. The first owner also lived there. I bought the car from him and drove it home to Portland, Or in January, 2014, last year. The original set of Hertz California lip-stick plates are here and go with the car. Yes they are listed on the Hertz title. There's a one-year old Firestone Battery in the car, oil was changed and wiper blades installed. Now for some bonus material....The first private party owner which Hertz sold to, was supposed to receive and invitation to buy an original artwork piece from Ford, showing the first "66 Hertz racer along side the current "06 Hertz Mustang. I was fortunate enough to be able to get one of the last three in existence. It is shown in the pics below. It has a special plaque listing the car number 0091 and the first owners name. It is HAND SIGNED by Carrol Shelby. I also have the original invitation that was sent out, but no envelope. It is mint and there is a certificate of authenticity that was sent with each glicee' print. I also bought a reproduction showroom banner that Hertz would have displayed at the rental counter. It goes with the car and is shown in the pictures. In addition...first owner bought a replacement leather seat cover for ...someday?? It goes with. An extra set of gold rocker panel side stripes. And a spare matching alloy wheel with a Pirelli P Zero mounted to it. He did not want to be caught with the compact spare tire in case he had a flat....he never did. The car runs and drives like new. It is very fast. It can beat a C-6 Corvette. The former owner did....right before he sold it to me!! This car absolutely Rocks! Call me with any questions. Ask for Bob.... Work: 503-643-4585. Cell: 503-522-0105. I am an Oregon Dealer. Ultracare Car Products,LLC. DBA: Vehicle Buyer's Service. License #1563. 4035 Douglas Way, #204, Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035. I'll fill out a Bill of Sale for you to complete the registration in your home state. I will be more than happy to assist in any way I can on final transportation. If you are flying in and driving home...I'll pick you up at the Portland Airport. Here are a couple of suggestions for Enclosed Ground Transport. Intercity Lines, Inc. 1-800-221-3936.(They move all Jay Leno's Cars). Horseless Carriage Transport: 1-800-631-7796. These two carriers are excellent and have been doing classic and antique cars for over 35 years. Transportation from Portland, OR. to your home state is the BUYER'S responsibility. I will need a $1000 deposit via PayPal from the successful buyer within 48 hours. PayPal FOR the DEPOSIT payment ONLY. You may complete payment for remaining balance with either a cashier's check or wire transfer. Shipping arrangements or pick-up can be completed once funds are in and cleared.
