The body, paintwork, mechanics and finish are second to none. There are literally no marks anywhere on the car. Behind the front wheels there is some tar, it is actually on top of Clearbra that sits behind each front wheel. The Undercarriage is spotless as are the brakes, suspension components, fuel tank etc. We took it up the street to have it looked at mechanically and cosmetically at Superior Performance, they said it was some of the nicest fiberglass work and paint they have seen. There are literally no signs of seams, creases or surface inconsistencies. We have a New, unused fire suit and trickle charger to go along with the sale. We have all the Original receipts for the car. In regards to the car, the details are as follows. It is powered by a 402R Rousch engine, #185. From the Factory it produces 515hp and 500lb ft of torque. It was installed by Kathrien Racing in 2004 when the Daytona was built. We have all the Records and Receipts from the Original Build. These Superformance Daytona Coupes are now licensed and resold by Carroll Shelby and Shelby Inc as Shelby Cobra Daytona CSX9 series Mk II. This licensing agreement allows the previous 150 Superformance Daytona Coupe's or MK 1's to be registered as Cobras in the Cobra registry. The fact that the Daytona was also drop-dead gorgeous was simply icing on the cake, and with this 1965 Shelby Daytona replica by Factory Five, you can have 90% of the experience for about 5% of the price. I'd call that a pretty good deal. Professionally built, this Daytona coupe is a very accurate representation of the original, right down to the Kamm-back tail and color combination. The body is fiberglass, not aluminum, but that also means it's durable and easy to repair and to be honest, it's a lot easier to live with if you actually want to drive the car. Fit and finish are great, worlds better than any of the real Daytona coupes back in the day. Details like the covered headlights, white side pipes, and heat extractor in the middle of the hood are all authentic details that make this replica really pop. The stripes and gumballs give it a track-ready look and even the sliding Plexiglas side windows accurately capture what driving these cars was really like back in the mid-60s. It's pretty accurate inside, too, with '60s style bucket seats and a minimalist approach. The bright blue harnesses are a good idea in a car that generates this much speed and the wood-rimmed steering wheel is a nod to '60s sensibilities, even on the track. The flat-faced dashboard is just how they did it on the real cars, although this one offers a full set of AutoMeter dials that look a bit like vintage Stewart-Warner gauges. One feature you'll be thrilled about is air-conditioning, which wasn't available in the originals, but was sorely needed with those minimalist windows and almost zero insulation. This one is nice and comfortable even on the hottest days, making it a supercar that you can drive anywhere, anytime. The forward-canted shifter looks correct and manages a 5-speed manual, so there's a fairly deep overdrive gear for easy highway cruising. There is no radio, but you'll hardly miss it with those bellowing side pipes at full blast and there's even reasonable storage behind the seats. Believe it or not, the original Daytonas were powered by Hi-Po 289s (not 427s as commonly believed), so the 331 cubic inch 5.0 stroker motor here is the right choice. The engine is dressed appropriately with a Cobra dress-up kit, including a finned air cleaner and matching valve covers. The rest is heavy-duty hardware that makes it reliable as well as comfortable. There's a big radiator up front, a serpentine belt drive system, and hydro-boost for the 4-wheel disc brakes. Underneath, the custom-built chassis offers A-arms with coil-overs up front and razor-sharp handling. It starts easily, idles well, and doesn't get hot or cranky on warm days, so it's a lot more livable and useable than the original, and heck, despite the 17-inch Halibrand style wheels and low-profile 275/40/17 front and 315/35/17 rear tires, it rides pretty darned well. Originally called the "Daytona Car," it was designed and built to take on the Ferrari GTO which had a sleeker design and was beating Shelby's Cobra at high speeds. After the Daytona placed 4th at Sebring overall and came in 1st in the GT class, Ford got behind Shelby in an effort to beat Enzo Ferrari and his Ferrari GTOs. In 1964, the car was very competitive with Gurney and Bondurant behind the wheel. With the season wrapping up and Ferrari ahead by just a few points, the final race at Monza would be the deciding factor, however, the race was canceled, leaving a great racing "what-if?" As a wonderful edition to the Superformance line, the Daytona Coupe is a redesigned street version of the original race car. Leading the charge was the original designer, Peter Brock. The street car features a slightly larger body than the original car, has a re-engineered suspension that was overseen by Roush Engineering, as well as many modern upgrades and creature comforts. The result is an incredible car that combines modern technology with stunning race car looks. Finished in Red with White stripes, this Shelby Cobra Daytona has just 6,500 miles since completion. Standard options include a tubular space frame, independent coil over suspension, period correct gauges, 4 wheel disc brakes,  aluminum radiator, stainless fuel tank, bucket seats, dual exhaust, power steering, power brakes, theft deterrent system, power door locks and AC. Additional options on this car include LeMans twin stripes, painted rear cove, sound deadening, Hi Fi stereo, heat dissipation, and ceramic coated side pipes. The engine is the Roush Performance 427R. This fantastic motor uses a Dart 4-bolt main block with big cubic inches and loads of dependability. The motor also uses forged pistons, rods and crank. The motors use Roush cylinder heads with premium stainless steel valves with 2.08" intake and 1.60" exhaust. The cam is a Roush hydraulic roller with a double roller timing chain and gear set. The carburetor is a Roush-tuned Holley 770 CFM with vacuum secondaries and an electric choke. The accessory drive system runs on Roush aluminum under-drive pulleys. As with all Roush motors, they are hot-tested and dyno tested to verify power.  The transmission is the optional T-56 Magnum, the premier aftermarket 6-speed transmission. The T-56 weighs just 135lbs dry and can withstand 700 lbs ft of tq. It has wonderful short and crisp action and offers a nice balance of strength and ease-of-use. Despite being built new, Shelby Daytonas are relatively hard to come by.
