All services just finished, engine & transmission oils changed, air and fuel filters changed. New Alternator and rear tires just installed at 41,750 miles.Mechanically, everything works on this car perfect. There are no check engine lights illuminated on this car. Does not leak any fluids whatsoever. This car is definitely more then capable of doing a cross country trip and is fun to drive, allot bigger inside than it appears. A Car fax, available upon request, reveals no accidents and mileage is consistent with what is on the odometer. Finally, I do drive the vehicle somewhat, so mileage may increase slightly.There are just a few things that make Smart cdi's unique and one of only about 120 or so here in the United States. It is powered by a Mercedes engineered turbo diesel that is well known for lasting hundreds of thousands of miles. This euro-spec version has been in production since 1998 and has been proven dependable. I can easily achieve 50 to 60 mpg and hits speeds of 75+ comfortably on the freeways. The transmission is an Automatic or Tiptronic (no clutch) manual sometimes called "slap stick"). And finally, unlike the 2nd generation US models, it also has 6 speeds instead of the 5. Many questions always come up regarding servicing the car. An online manual is available from the website "Evilution", but just Google it. There you will find a wonderful resource with helpful descriptions and pictures to help in performing repairs and maintenance. As for mechanics to do maintenance on the car; I always recommend contacting an independent mechanic specializing in European cars.Having disclosed that the car is a grey market car, please check your DMV to ensure it will title in your state. I have a clear Illinois title and will pass it on to the buyer. We bought it to resell. HAS THE CAR EVER BEEN IN A WRECK? I see no bends in the frame and no sheet metal kinked. The documents do not indicate any thing, by the law they should if it has been in a bad accident. HOW ABOUT RUST? I see no rust bubbles in the paint, I see no rusted holes on the under side. The sub frames look good, the supports look good to me. See close up pictures of the under side. The floor bottoms have been replaced with the correct ones, they did a good job. I did no see any water coming in through the cowl vent when I checked and the carpet was not wet. HOW IS THE PAINT? I consider it nice, its a dark blue with metallic. I see no rust, no dents and the car is straight when I look down the sides. I see a couple of super minor defects, but the paints looks good, the shine is great. HOW IS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP? Looks like new to me. I put it down for pictures and did not take time to put the boot on. HOW IS THE CROME? Bumpers super nice, all other chrome I would consider very good, but not brand new. HOW IS THE GLASS? All the window roll up and down, the windshield has no cracks, no milky place, but I see a minor wiper mark. DO THE LIGHTS WORK? The headlights work, tail lights work, turn signals work, brake lights work, interior lights under the dash work. SPEEDOMETER WORKS, GAS GAUGE WORKS, WIPERS WORK HEATER WORKS! ORIGINAL RADIO NOT WORKING. HORN IS NOT WORKING? Car has a new steering wheel and the brushes in it don't seem to work right. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? Better than most Mustangs. It is power steering with lots of new parts. HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? It is 4 wheel drums, it stop good to me for drums. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a good running 302 cubic inch. Car came out with a 289. The 302 is a perfect fit and look the almost the same, I can tell by the balancer being a little differect. I here no knocks, rattles and see no blue smoke. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? It a good C4 automatic. HOW ARE THE TIRES? Past owner just put them on, they have less than 100 miles on them. I feel a little unbalance on one at about 55 MPH. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Dash pad has no cracks, carpet decent, seat covers good, but the passenger bucket seat top a 2 inch bad place that it had to see in pictures. Where is the car located? I see no rust, no dents and the car is straight when I look down the sides. I see a couple of super minor defects, but the paints looks good, the shine is great. HOW IS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP? Looks like new to me. I put it down for pictures and did not take time to put the boot on. HOW IS THE CROME? Bumpers super nice, all other chrome I would consider very good, but not brand new. HOW IS THE GLASS? All the window roll up and down, the windshield has no cracks, no milky place, but I see a minor wiper mark. DO THE LIGHTS WORK? The headlights work, tail lights work, turn signals work, brake lights work, interior lights under the dash work. SPEEDOMETER WORKS, GAS GAUGE WORKS, WIPERS WORK HEATER WORKS! ORIGINAL RADIO NOT WORKING. HORN IS NOT WORKING? Car has a new steering wheel and the brushes in it don't seem to work right. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? Better than most Mustangs. It is power steering with lots of new parts. HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? It is 4 wheel drums, it stop good to me for drums. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a good running 302 cubic inch. Car came out with a 289. The 302 is a perfect fit and look the almost the same, I can tell by the balancer being a little differect. I here no knocks, rattles and see no blue smoke. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? It a good C4 automatic. HOW ARE THE TIRES? Past owner just put them on, they have less than 100 miles on them. I feel a little unbalance on one at about 55 MPH. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Dash pad has no cracks, carpet decent, seat covers good, but the passenger bucket seat top a 2 inch bad place that it had to see in pictures. Where is the car located?
