This car is not perfect it ,however it is a very clean example of a STREET LEGAL RACE CAR and much cleaner than most MK2 you are going to see. At some point it appears title was rebuilt however I have the arkansas title to the car in previous owners name which appears to be clear.That being said Im making sure its listed as rebuilt though it likely is clean. All and all it will need a few things sorted im sure however the major stuff has been done, its solid on the road and the car is an absolute blast to drive! I had been searching for clean stock MK2 when I found this car and bought it, I drove it and had to have it...absolutely the most powerful MK2 I have been in. That being said its just a little too powerful for me and I have recently purchased a older bone stock 84 audi 4000s quattro and thus have decided to let the MK2 go for storage reasons. I WILL MISS THIS CAR! Im not sure if its the close ratio gear box or just the huge smile on my face every time I drive it, but this car feels like every bit of 300hp! Exterior: Car looks great for a 92 vw sitting on the Ewing 16" wheels and Coilovers. I have not seen any major rust on this car. It comes with a Gti red paint job complete with multi black stripes.She has minor dings and blemishes around and some clear coat peel on roof however all and all I would say the car looks good and much better than most that I see. not perfect but very presentable in my opinion. see pics for further details as I feel pictures tell the story best. Interior: The inside of this car is very complete and well kept for a 92' though it will need a headliner, however overall its in great shape including the seats and almost all the little interior bits and pieces are intact which is very rare for an MK2(speaker grills,Buttons,trim, Door panel,handles ect..99% of the stuff is there and in great shape). Most importantly, It has a clean smoke free cabin, WORKING SUNROOF, working Mk3 Dash Cluster showing 129K (exempt) w/Engine light on which should be expected due to all the performance upgrades, Nice complete dash with a few expected cracks but looks great! Upgrades include Kenwood CD w/ipod connect and New Kenwood 6x9, Corrado steering wheel, Cluster mounted boost gauge, Innovate Motorsport Air Fuel gauge (digital), New GTI red stick shift boot cover in leather, and stainless shift knob. I would rate this interior way above average! Driving:Car runs and drives quite smooth. Engine is smooth on a morning start,runs strong and produces incredible power. The 5 speed shifts very smooth and the clutch in strong and easy to drive. Brakes are smooth,steering is tight and very responsive and the car handles corners with ease due to the strut bars,new tires on 16"wheels along with Raceland coilovers. Car drives great and is rather comfortable for a car on coil overs and could be driven daily! Performance: This car is a BEAST! A Beautiful and very hard to find 1986 Volkswagen Quantum Sport Wagon that has had only 2 same family owners. This Quantum remained a California car until 2010 when it was then sold to a family member in Arkansas. It has only 119,325 Actual miles and looks and runs Great. It has never been involved in any accidents and comes with a perfectly clean Carfax report which is available upon request. This Sport wagon runs as good as it looks. The original 2.2 Liter 5 Cylinder engines runs super smooth and accelerates quickly. A very fun and sporty wagon to drive. The 3-speed automatic transmission shifts flawlessly as well. It drives down the road straight, smooth and tight with no rattles or vibrations. Recent services include a new timing belt, battery, A/C compressor and drier, CV joints, wheel bearings, ball joints, lower control arm bushings, camshaft & crankshaft seals, valve cover gasket, oil service, steering tie-rod links, tie rods, front struts, sway bar links, driver's side window regulator and outer sunroof seal. There are no fluid leaks of any kind or burning of oil. All instrument gauges are working properly including the digital clock. An aftermarket Kenwood CD player with USB and new speakers were added and sound great. The only thing needed is the climate control box to be fixed or replaced as the cold air is mixing with the warm. The body panels are straight and 100% rust free. The factory Calahari Beige Metallic paint with painted pinstripes is mostly original and has a very nice shine. The paint is light (thin) in areas and shows some clear coat peeling on the trunk hatch. There are also other normal imperfections such as stone chips, light scratches and a few dings but nothing significant. Really nice condition for 30 year old paint. Authentic BBS wheels with BF Goodrich tires were added which enhance the Euro Sport Wagon look. The interior is 100% original and in Excellent condition showing very minimal wear if any on the Velour seats, carpets, door panels, headliner and dash which is free from cracks. Custom ordered Coco mats were installed for the classic finishing Euro touch. Included with the sale are the original owners manuals, shop manual, original VW Quantum sales brochure, 4 keys and a few extra service parts. Everywhere I go in this wagon I always hear the same thing.. "I haven't seen one of those in forever!" you are bidding on a super nice 1963 vw bug convertible. it was restored a few years ago and a very nice job was done. you could drive this car anywhere it starts right up, runs very smooth and shifts perfectly, brakes are good top works correctly. the top has a German canvas heavy top, but has a small hole (size of your thumb nail) i think it was caused by rubbing on the body with top down don't know how else it could have happened. pictures should speak for themselves. i don't have the vin with me the car is at my vacation home on petite jean mountain in Morrilton Arkansas and will be for sale (if it doesn't sell) at the national motta vintage car swap meet and show on June 18 at the Mountian.
