Engine compression is what it all about. This classic car has had no modifications whatsoever!! It is 100% factory standard. The compression was tested recently and it was 210 across the boards. My price this1988 VW Sirocco DOHC is 400.00 under the NADA book for average condition!! And by the pictures that were taken on 07.18.2015 you can see it well meets that condition. I am the second owner and purchased this vehicle in 1992. I am closing in on 60 years of age so this has not had the SHIT run out of it by a kid!! Since my ownership it has been 100% garaged and all maintenance has been completed on schedule. In the last two years I have replace many parts on this collector's car. I have replace the alternator, fuel distributer, belts, hoses, struts, master cylinder and more But, like any vehicle there are things that need to be taken care of! Here is a list of what I know what is wrong with this collector car. I am currently repairing most of the list below: 1. Air conditioning compress need replace. 2. Sunroof track needs adjusted. 3. It is a one non-smoking family owner car from new. It is well taken care of and currently has no mechanical issues as far as I know. I have never had an electrical issue with this car. I have never had any leaking associated with the car. I have full faith and confidence in this car and never doubt its ability to get me where I need to go. In the last year, I have driven it to California and back once and to New York and back twice (I drove it to 36 states this past year). This car has always been reliable for my wife and me and has never had even a minor malfunction. We have the car maintained regularly. The car has never been wrecked or stolen. We are selling the car because we bought a new car and we don't have space in our garage, so this one has to go. Cosmetically, the car is solid, but we do live downtown so there are certainly a handful of nicks and scratches on the front and rear bumpers. There is no rust that I am aware of. The interior is nice. There are a couple small scratches on the backseat, but nothing serious and no tears. The floormats have devices that keep them attached to the floor. One of these has had the device come off. There is also a rock chip in the front windshield from a truck carrying gravel on the highway that had some stones fall out of the truck. The only other problem I can think of is that the trunk is difficult to open and close (takes more effort than you would expect). It has been this way for almost the entirety of the car's life. We had the dealer look at the pneumatics once, and they sprayed some lubricant on it which helped for awhile, but ultimately reverted back to being difficult to open and close. The trunk has never had any damage to it. This is just purely a problem with the pneumatics that keep the trunk elevated when open. Clear title available for transfer. Extra set of keys included.
