This is a rare Volkswagen that it is in pretty rough condition and is being sold for parts, or restore. No rust or collision damage, but lots of dents and scratches, cracked windshield, mismatched wheels, and the interior isn't any better. This was my daily driver for about a year but is parked to due zero compression on one cylinder. I suspect a burned piston and/or valve. Symptoms indicate a teardown is needed and I don't have the means or inclination to do it. Brakes and 5 speed manual trans are good, supercharger is still strong but is also due for routine rebuild. Hood latch and hinges are shot but it has hood pins. Engine was very strong with the boost, before it dropped the one cylinder. Clean Title. Odometer reads 119250, I cannot say if this is correct or not, but the odometer and speedo have been working the whole time I've driven it. Again to be clear it is being sold as is for parts or repair only. It can be started and drove, but is only firing 3 cylinders and should not be driven anywhere but onto a trailer. Pickup is in North Wichita. If you want to arrange freight I will be glad to make myself available to help them load it. Beautiful 1974 Super Beetle. This car was a one owner until I purchased it one month ago as a restoration project. The car shines like a diamond and runs great. Mechanically the car is sound, (1600 CC - dual carbs). Basically the car simply needed a little love, some minor work and a good cleaning. Features include nearly new paint (not awesome...10 footer), nearly new tires, newly upholstered seat, new muffler with the chrome pipes, new rear body mounts, new antenna, new glove box latch, new window cranks, new turn signal lenses. The car has a few minor imperfections as expected of a 41 year old car. Before I purchased the car, I had it checked by a local import shop and they gave it a clean bill of health...noting that it had few leaks including a leak at the rear main and the pushrod tubes, but nothing of major concern. It is worth noting that the area under the battery has been repaired and appears to be in good shape. Note - the odometer shows 29,770 miles- however, the original speedometer was changed out at 62589 miles and the receipts are in the glove box. This is a great little car, that is super fun to drive.
