This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro nails it, ranging from a great color combination, to a powerful fuel injected small block with an overdrive gearbox attached to it. This one has the iconic Camaro appearance with exotic touches throughout...but what else would you expect from an award-winning custom restomod first built for a General Motors VP? There are some great reasons why the paint is so striking on this one. This paint is so precise from PPG that its never even been buffed. The Pearl Metallic Yellow has so much depth that changes its tones depending on how the light hits it. So the mature darker luster this has in our showroom completely turns around, and shines so bright that it looks like it belongs on a Ferrari out on the show field. But no matter this yellow's tone, it looks amazing thanks to a body that's precision straight. Add in the uniform gaps, and you have a nearly 50 year-old vehicle whose doors that shut with modern confidence. This one has all the right Super Sport touches like the blacked-out grille and cowl induction hood, but you know it is far from stock. This has attention-grabbing custom touches like the painted taillight panel, racing gas cap, and of course, the Boyd Coddington Smoothie 17" wheels that shine as bright as the paint. Inside there is no denying that this Camaro is something special. The power bucket seats were taken from a '94 Camaro and reupholstered in leather, with yellow inserts that match the exterior. The door panels have been treated to this same yellow and black custom treatment. In between the two modern buckets is a custom-built center console that houses the contemporary gear lever, and large tachometer prominently mounted in the center. The driver gets a three-spoke steering wheel, and beyond that, a full set of Classic Instruments gauges has been mounted in the Camaro's original stylish dual barrel setup. It's no surprise that this restomod has been specially set up for modern convenience, so you and your passengers can enjoy features such as the AM/FM/CD stereo, and ice cold air conditioning running modern R-134a. But more than anything else, your going to love the engine bay. The heart of this beast is a fuel-injected 350 cubic-inch LT1 crate motor, built an installed around 3,000 miles ago. You'll love popping the hood at all the car shows and watching the crowds marvel at the custum, full silver painted components that look great in the yellow engine bay. This is truly built for presentation with smoothed firewall, all the wires hidden, and the hoses tight and neat (even the battery was moved to the trunk for better weight distribution and a cleaner look.) But just because the engine bay can win awards on its own, doesn't mean speed was left out of this custom build. It can run hard with a Be Cool aluminum radiator and electronic ignition. The custom-built Hooker Competition headers add power, and a wicked growl, to the H-pipe performance dual exhaust. This crate V8 screamer needs stout parts to get all the power to the ground, and that's why it had a GM 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission installed when the engine was built in 2003. But all this power is nothing without control. That's why the suspension was upgraded with goodies like a Detroit Speed front subframe, one-inch front sway bar, and Koni shocks all around. Keeping you in contact with the road is a grippy set of expensive Cooper Zeon tires, backed up by four-wheel disc brakes. But as much as this can tear up the streets, this one is an all-around performer. After all, this is also a power steering car with an overdrive transmission that feeds a versatile 3.42 rear end. There are no compromises in the construction of this Camaro restomod. We have plenty more upgrades to tell you, but for now, just know that this classic was appraised a few years ago at $125K. Whether it's the muscular rear fenders' aggressive looks or the throwback to tradition that appeals to us, if you want a fun hobby truck, this big block-powered stepside is definitely the way to go. In white over orange, this truck's many curves, edges, and interesting details stand out, ranging from the cool hood whose character line extends around the cab, to the semi-wing on the top of the cab itself, to the traditional-looking bed. Someone clearly spent a good deal of effort on the truck, and today it's probably nicer than it was even new, and probably even too nice to go back to work. This is a truck you'll show with pride instead. It's traditional but eye-catching and the look gets attention everywhere it goes without being too outrageous; after all, it could have been this color when it was new. Add in the cool diamond plate bed floor and a cool rear bumper that looks like it belongs on a passenger car, and you have a truck that went to finishing school before hitting the job site. Workmanship is quite good, and while there are signs of it being driven and enjoyed, the presentation is excellent. You could definitely say that we like this truck. It's clean, simple, and isn't trying to be something it's not. The interior received a full makeover when the truck was restored, and now sports very attractive two-tone tan leather upholstery on the factory bench seat. It's still quite comfortable for three across, and the soft hides give it a high style look that suits the truck just fine. Dig the cool cut out in the lower cushion to make room for the 4-speed manual transmission, a touch you don't find on many trucks. Factory gauges still monitor the engine from behind their neat silk-screened lens, and additional gauges under the dash give you a slightly better view. The dash has been painted to match the body, as have the inner door panels, so the interior is bright and airy thanks to expansive windows. A newer AM/FM/CD stereo has been fitted in the original dash location and nicely fitted tan carpets give it a finished look inside. Under the hood is a butch 454 cubic inch V8 with a bunch of traditional upgrades like a big Holley carburetor and dual Flowmaster mufflers, and it moves the truck easily with a great hot-rod feel. Nicely detailed in black, it wears finned valve covers, and a low-profile air cleaner so you won't be afraid to pop the hood at the next cruise night. This one also focuses on performance almost exclusively, with no power steering or brakes to get in the way of the horsepower. The truth is, it's easy to drive and doesn't need any Herculean efforts to maneuver, and you'll definitely enjoy the engine's fat torque curve and great exhaust note. The chassis is almost completely stock and nicely preserved, with no signs of rust or damage. The 4-speed manual gearbox feeds the original 12-bolt rear end, which hangs on coil springs for a surprisingly comfortable ride. Cool Pacer chrome wheels add even more sizzle and wear fat 275/60/15 Hankook white letter radials. This is a fun, good-looking truck that lets you join the hobby without a huge investment. "NO NONSENSE HIGH PERFORMANCE" Dragon Motor Cars has been competing with their quality light-weight High Performance original design sports cars since 2001. The Series II Dragon Roadster uses race-proven stock Corvette C4 aluminum suspension components in a dedicated race quality space frame chassis with a vintage-styled original fiberglass body and small block engine. The result is stunning in appeal and proved its world class performance on the track with Class Wins each year raced at Run & Gun. Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum The Dragon Motor Cars Prototype Series II Roadster. In the words of the builders, this Dragon is "No Nonsense High Performance". This Dragon is powered by a 1996/1997 General Motors LT-1 series V8 coupled to a 4L60E 4 Speed Automatic transmission. The mechanical configuration is still generally as originally installed. The Dragon rides on adjustable coil over shocks in all four corners, steering and handling as well as the suspension for the front end was provided by a C-4 Corvette donor. Out back you'll find a solid 10 bolt G.M. axle mounted in a 4 link configuration and a modified drive line connecting it all together. Manual dual circuit 4 wheel disc brakes with dual piston calipers up front and single pistons in the rear provide ample stopping power and the American Racing Torque Thrust rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 275/40 ZR17 tires transfer your desires to go or stop to the ground. Additionally, for added performance and longevity, the braking circuits are plumbed with steel braided brake lines. The LT-1 engine has been dressed up with some tasteful additions including true dual exhaust with custom exhaust headers and functional side pipes. (a modification completed by the original fabricators of the Dragon) A chrome alternator has been installed and Corvette covers atop the intake. Cooling is efficiently handled by an electric pilot controlled fan fastened to an aluminum Griffin radiator. The large air inlet in the front allows the Series II to cool much better than its predecessor. Electrically, the Dragon utilizes the factory designed system for the LT-1 engine and power is supplied by a newer Die Hard series battery. At 2200 pounds or so, this High Performance vehicle is pure business. There are no frills, no amenities, and no creature comforts. Mechanical and vitals are monitored by 6 gauges including Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Battery and Charging System Voltage, Fuel Level, Tachometer, and a Speedometer. Turn signals, Headlights, Electric Fans, Windshield Wipers, Horn, and High/Low Beam Headlight operations are controlled by neatly installed toggle switches in easy reach of the pilot. You won't find a need for a stereo in this machine. The sound of the engine and finely tuned exhaust provide all the listening pleasure you will ever need. Operating this machine is no major issue. There is plenty of leg room in the cockpit for even the tallest of drivers. The side profile of the car is low and very easy to enter even considering one has to step over the side into the pilots seat. Once comfortably seated, the pilot has the protection of a full body width roll bar, chrome fire extinguisher, and RJS Racing 5 point harnesses to protect against nearly any unfortunate event that may arise. Operation of this ferocious Dragon is handled by the Radio Controlled Paddle shift and the GT Grant removable steering wheel. As with any vehicle used over a period of 8 plus years, no matter how meticulously cared for, one will find a few minor blemishes. This Dragon is no exception. On the exterior, the recently modified paint (original paint scheme reversed from red with black accents to its current configuration) has a small bubble on the right rear section of the trunk lid just in front of the integrated spoiler and some very minor road rash on the chin up front. Some swirls are also present but should be easily removed with a high quality detail. The *Leather* interior is in very good condition with no tears, rips, or other signs of wear other than some discoloration on the pilot's seat from where one would place their foot while stepping in to the car. For the most part, the overall function of this Dragon is as it should be. The steering and suspension are tight, responsive, and trouble free. Acceleration, shifting, and stopping are all breath taking, and the car is not only exciting, but a head turner no matter where you are. A few things worth mentioning that the perspective buyer would like to know are as follows; there is evidence of oil seepage at the front timing cover seal, the odometer, the horn, windshield wiper, and fog lights do not currently work, and the pilot's side rear view mirror lense is missing. Overall, this Dragon is impressive and would make a fantastic addition to nearly any collection, be it American, European, or just a collection of visually pleasing automobiles. The appearance of this Dragon even somewhat resembles the appearance of the Lister Knobbly. This Dragon is street legal with fully functional lighting and operational turn and brake lights. For California residents, it is titled as a 1966 Chevrolet so smog inspections are of no worry. This opportunity may not present itself again. This Dragon is the Prototype. Number 1!!!!!! Chevrolet changed much of the bodylines from the '59's. The new look for 1960 suited the glamorous top of the line Impala, as Chevrolet reshaped and separated the bat wing tail fins, and added 3 round tailamps to the rear. Additional features included a short molding strip extending back from the headlights, twin pairs of bar molding above and below the fender strip, the quarter panel missile ornaments had 2 moldings streaking rearward, and the area between them was filled with a contrasting colored insert and Impala script. This beauty was born and raised in the classic car friendly state of California and transported to Florida only a few years ago. It enjoyed the black tag status in California for decades. This means the car had the original '59 or '60 year tag on the car sine new as the tags remained on the cars and transferred from owner to owner even after the tag design was changed to different colors. This signified it's entire life was spent in the state of California. This car is a treat to be around and to drive. The car has an amazing straight and rock solid body. No rust! It's both classy and sharp looking with the white over blue color combination. Not many seen with these colors and the overall condition is excellent. Since it has been in Florida, the last owner added new chrome wheels and tires to update the look and also added air conditioning in the last year. All new A/C components with new and very cold R134 refrigerant. The 283 engine runs great with plenty of power and is connected to a smooth shifting automatic transmission. It is an absolute joy to drive and easy to steer with power steering. If you want a nice bubble top that is this clean for a fair price, better not linger.
