The seller said he brought it in from SW Oklahoma where it had been parked in a pasture for a several years. It appears to have been white with a red top and back of the cab. Surprisingly the engine wasn't stuck. I was also impressed with the small amount of rust on this 54 year old truck. The griille is in unbelievably good condition. Southwest Oklahoma is very dry! WORK DONE: My mechanic and I love to get old trucks running and back on the road again. We cleaned the gas tank and carburetor, changed oil, put in new spark plugs, points, distributor cap, fuel lines, fuel pump and filter. An intake valve was bent on #1 cylinder. We replaced the#1 intake and exhaust valve (of course new head gasket). All cylinders tested over 110#s cold. A crack at the bottom of the water jacket on the drivers side block was discovered so we went to the internet to find the best repair. The crack was angle drilled every half inch then super cleaned and wire wheel buffed. We then filled the cracks and drill holes with JB Weld. For extra protection we took out the freeze plugs on that side and, after cleaning, filled the water jacket with POR 15 about 3/4 of an inch deep which covered the cracks. It sets up like rock so there should never be a problem from leaking. In fact there aren't any noticeable fluid leaks under the truck! The engine has no smoke or knocks, cools well, and has plenty of power. The brakes and clutch were next. My mechanic intalled all new wheel cylinders, master brake and clutch cylinders, clutch slave cylinder, and new brake hoses. The shoes and drums were cleaned and in good shape. The clutch now works perferctly as do the brakes. The front end checked out solid but there is some play in the steering box. It does go down the road well and is easy to drive. We didn't fix the faulty radio, generator, lights, wipers, fuel guage, or the speedometer. The doors and hood open and close well and the windows roll up and down. It starts very easily but does idles a little sloppy untill it smooths out with some increased throttle(I think the carb needs a kit). I sandblasted, primed, and painted the wheels and put on some 1/3 to 1/2 tread 15 inch tires. I tried to take lots of pictures to show problems but I'm sure I could have missed something. CONCLUSION: I have used this truck to to go back and forth to my farm 3 miles away. It brings back lots of good memories of growing up on a farm in the 60s. I hope the new buyer enjoys it as much as I have! I will give the buyer the right to inspect the truck before paying(within 7 days). If he or she feels that I have misrepresented it, the buyer may have a full refund of their deposit. Once paid for I will hold it for 2 or 3 weeks while waiting for transport. Thanks for looking! this truck 2 years ago at a swap meet in Chickasha Ok.. The seller said he brought it in from SW Oklahoma where it had been parked in a pasture for a several years. It appears to have been white with a red top and back of the cab. Surprisingly the engine wasn't stuck. I was also impressed with the small amount of rust on this 54 year old truck. The griille is in unbelievably good condition. Southwest Oklahoma is very dry! WORK DONE: My mechanic and I love to get old trucks running and back on the road again. We cleaned the gas tank and carburetor, changed oil, put in new spark plugs, points, distributor cap, fuel lines, fuel pump and filter. An intake valve was bent on #1 cylinder. We replaced the#1 intake and exhaust valve (of course new head gasket). All cylinders tested over 110#s cold. A crack at the bottom of the water jacket on the drivers side block was discovered so we went to the internet to find the best repair. The crack was angle drilled every half inch then super cleaned and wire wheel buffed. We then filled the cracks and drill holes with JB Weld. For extra protection we took out the freeze plugs on that side and, after cleaning, filled the water jacket with POR 15 about 3/4 of an inch deep which covered the cracks. It sets up like rock so there should never be a problem from leaking. In fact there aren't any noticeable fluid leaks under the truck! The engine has no smoke or knocks, cools well, and has plenty of power. The brakes and clutch were next. My mechanic intalled all new wheel cylinders, master brake and clutch cylinders, clutch slave cylinder, and new brake hoses. The shoes and drums were cleaned and in good shape. The clutch now works perferctly as do the brakes. The front end checked out solid but there is some play in the steering box. It does go down the road well and is easy to drive. We didn't fix the faulty radio, generator, lights, wipers, fuel guage, or the speedometer. The doors and hood open and close well and the windows roll up and down. It starts very easily but does idles a little sloppy untill it smooths out with some increased throttle(I think the carb needs a kit). I sandblasted, primed, and painted the wheels and put on some 1/3 to 1/2 tread 15 inch tires. I tried to take lots of pictures to show problems but I'm sure I could have missed something. CONCLUSION: I have used this truck to to go back and forth to my farm 3 miles away. It brings back lots of good memories of growing up on a farm in the 60s. I hope the new buyer enjoys it as much as I have! I will give the buyer the right to inspect the truck before paying(within 7 days). Where do we get our inventory? We have many different sources for the cars and trucks we stock. Vehicles may be purchased at dealer sales, at off-lease sales, directly from large franchise dealers, from credit unions and banks. The vehicles we sell on eBay are usually late model (2002 and newer) and have good miles and may still be under a factory warranty. We resell cars with clean titles only, this means we never sell salvage, rebuilt, reconstructed, insurance claim, flood or other gray market vehicles unless specifically noted. Do you have all titles on hand for your vehicles? We do not always have titles on hand for vehicles that are placed for sale, titles may be in transit from banks, from other dealerships, from the state, and a host of other reasons for normal processing delays in title paperwork. We are a licensed and bonded dealer in Texas and guarantee clear titles on all vehicles that we sell. If having title on hand is of critical importance to you, please check to verify its disposition prior to contracting for sale. What 'other' fees are there besides the purchase price? The other fees include taxes, shipping and documentation charges. If you live in Texas, you must pay 6.25% of the sales price of the car as a tax to the state. All buyers are required to pay Texas Vehicle Inventory Tax (VIT) tax of 0.002365% of the purchase price. (The VIT Tax is based on the county in Texas where the dealership is located,Silver Star Motors is located in Tarrant county). There is a $195 dealer services fee for handling paperwork, filing titles, mailing and copying costs, these fees are fixed and is non negotiable. How is shipping of the vehicle arranged, can I get a quote? We are happy to handle all of the details of shipping your new vehicle to its new home. Send us an email with your home address and the car or truck you need to ship, we will get back to you with a firm quote on shipping. Common shipping terms include: Open Carrier - You've seen these trucks, 10 cars on a truck, running down the highway. This is the most economical way to transport, but because of the risk of additional rock and element damage, many higher dollar and specialty cars must be shipped enclosed carrier Enclosed Carrier - Your vehicle will be transported in a closed container, this eliminates the damage that can come from exposure to the road and the elements, this is typically several hundred dollars more in cost. Insurance - All vehicles are covered by insurance while in transport, you will need to provide insurance once you take delivery of the vehicle. What forms of payment do you accept? We accept certified cashier checks drawn on US Banks in US funds, Bank wire transfers and cash in person. NO DEALER DRAFTS. Note: Be sure to read the restrictions on the back of the check to make sure we can accept it. We do not offer in house financing but we have access to 1000s of lenders, fill out an application and let's see if we can get you in our new vehicle. All cars are professionally cleaned before sold. If there are any mechanical issues noted during inspection, they are addressed before the car is sold. Any issues that we elect not to fix are disclosed in full in our listings. How do I know the car is in the condition stated? We are experts in the auto business and have personally inspected thousands of vehicles. We do our best to point out the shortcomings in the cars and trucks that we sell.
