Hello ebay I have a 69 cougar for sale. It has undergone serious labor and now has a multitude of new parts. I don't quite have the time to finish the project so I will be putting it up for sale. Runs great, starts right up. Clean title no rust, all numbers matching. This is the first of the 69 models, vehicle number 379 out of 100,000+. Has a 351 Windsor with a fmx tranny. - new intake manifold - new edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor - new belts and brackets- brand new 17' magnum 500's with brand new tires- new carpet- new headliner- new larger sized radiator with electric fan set up- new battery- new water pump - new mirrors and glass- new ignition cylinder - new plugs and wires - new Ford racing D.U.I with bronze camshaft gear- new fuel pump- new matching air filter- new valve covers - new window regulator- new shifter knob- new door sill scuff plates- new plates and tabsI'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of things. Beautiful 1969 Mercury Cougar Coupe with 351w 2v engine. FMX automatic transmission, original AM radio, and factory air conditioning. Engine and transmission are numbers matching for this car. Car is rust free and runs great. 2nd owner of this car. Purchased from original owner in San Diego in 1995. Car is registered in California with black license plates but has been kept in a garage in Phoenix since 2003. Complete restoration was done in 1995. Engine has approximately 30k miles since rebuild in 1995. In 2011, new engine gaskets, transmission rebuild, rear end rebuild, paint, and tires. Has been driven at a minimum of once every 2 weeks since 2011 and has been kept in excellent running condition. No modifications have been made to the drivetrain. It was restored to original specifications. All electrical, lights, gauges, air conditioning, and heater in working order including the clock in the gauge panel. The sequential turn signals along with the hideaway headlights are also in working order. Original factory air conditioning compressor included with car but aftermarket is compressor is currently installed. All original hubcaps are on the car. Has full spare tire in trunk with original jack kit. Also, includes original owner's manual and manual sleeve. This is a rare Cougar that has not been modified over the years. Matching numbers 351 Windsor with an automatic transmission, power brakes, power steering and factory air that has been converted to R-134. The body has had some very tasteful custom work done to include double tubed radio antennas, custom front and rear grills and hidden head lights! It has beautiful white interior that is in excellent shape! Power top is in great condition and has a boot for when you are driving with it down. Car has been very well cared for and came out of Florida so pretty much rust free. Runs and drives very well!! Car has polished aluminum wheels and white letter BF Goodrich tires! This car was sold new in California and ended up in Kansas and has been stored inside for many years. Engine and transmission were removed years ago ...so its being sold as complete car without engine and transmission. Was planning to restore as an Eliminator that's the reason for the 70 front end. The worst part on the cougar are the lower rear quarters. Floor board is solid. Appear to have all origional interior and is complete. Headliner is down and dash pad needs repaired. Drivers seat has some wear spots, the rest of the seats and door panels are good with no tears. Full console. Headlight assemblies will be a separate unit and is a complete front end as seen in pictures. It will make a good car to restore as it has always been stored inside.

presents well, both body and paint are in great condition with only one minor flaw in the paint. Power top is also in nice shape. Trim is original and shows some age and use. Magnum 500 wheels and tires are new. Front windows roll up correctly, rear windows as shown could use some additional fitting to close completely. One chip found in the windshield but is not spreading and does not obscure view of the road. Interior Seats, carpeting and door panels have been redone and are in great condition. Dash, gauges and steering wheel are original. Dash is cracked. Rear panel that joins the seat to trunk area is missing and there is a visible gap with top up. Mechanical 302 V8 engine was rebuilt at the time of restoration and sounds great through duel Flowmaster mufflers. Transmission, brakes and steering all work well. At lower RPMs, engine will “surge” suspect that throttle linkage needs adjustment. Drivers side door interior handle is not working. This is a nice example of a first-year Cougar convertible, Ford’s other pony car. Power top with correct glass back window in great condition, leather interior, power windows, power steering, power brakes, rim blow horn, styled steel wheels and dual exhaust. Equipped with air conditioning which currently does not blow cold - that's the only thing that doesn't fully function on the car. Reasonably new paint. 1 am selling my 1969 Cougar XR7 convertible that is almost finish. Just needs a few things to make it right. The engine is a 351w 4 Brl pushing about 340 hp. It was rebuilt 2 year ago and it only has 15 miles on the engine since, a new Edlebrock performance carb. (I have the original Holly and it goes with it), Headers, new full front to back exhaust with flow masters, new cams and rolling rockers, polished Valve covers, new water pump and fuel pump, new fuel tank and lines, new brakes all around, staggered new American racing wheels and tires, new chromed bumpers and rear tail light bezels, back seat upholstered, re-finished front grill, the whole under carriage and trunk was sand blasted primed and undercoated, and a lot of extra parts go with it. It needs the driver seat to be upholstered, the trunk lid mold, (2) eye brow moldings, air canister so the flip up lights stay closed, both door gaskets, And fuel sending unit. This is a 1969 Mercury Cougar with the "Sports Special" package, This car is very solid and has 40,000 original miles on it. I bought this a couple years ago and did some work to it. The original radiator and AC condenser were stolen by scrappers. It now has a nice aluminum radiator. I never replaced the condenser, so that will be needed to make the AC work. It really runs nice, and everything works except for the AC. I had it painted by a friend who does restorations, and I put in a new carpet. Many pictures can be seen by clicking HERE
