1971 Ford Torino GT 2D Coupe. This vehicle was recently discovered in the woods of rural West Virginia. The car has no title and the body is rough but there are lots of desirable parts. The best of course is the original 351 Cleveland 4V engine that turns. There is also a C6 automatic trans, heavy duty 9" rear end plus various body and trim parts. The grille and left side door and front fender has already been scavenged sometime in the past. The right side sheetmetal is all there as is the trim, taillight panel, instrument cluster and good rear and side glass. Windshield is busted. Hood and deck lid are rusty. The car rolls and steers just fine and we can assist with loading. This auction does not include the wheels and tires, I had to rob them off of my Falcon to replace the rotten tires that was on the car when I found it so you'll need to bring your own. Keep in mind this is a parts car. I suppose it could be restored but that would take some doing as the body and floors are very rough. There is no title so the buyer will receive a bill of sale. This is a very clean 71 Torino GT 351 Cleveland with a 4 spd. Car is Red with factory Lazer stripe, Shaker hood scoop and factory 4 speed with bucket seat int. Car is very clean with no rust but has some small blemmishes here and there. Everything in car works as it should except for the ffactory tach. Fortunately, this one does exist and looks great with its trademark "laser stripe" down its flanks, and with a strong-running 351 cubic inch V8 under the hood, it's got enough power to match its racy look. The Torino can probably be considered Ford's answer to the Chevelle, but sadly it was a distant second in the popularity contest vs. Chevy's erstwhile A-body. However, if more people had seen a car like this Torino GT convertible, perhaps the numbers would have changed. Ford didn't advertise it very much, giving it one lonely photo in their 1971 brochure where it was easy to overlook. This one is finished in handsome code V Light Pewter Metallic, which is the car's original color and looks pretty classy on the big ragtop. It was repainted a few years ago and the paint is holding up quite well, with a great shine and panel alignment that suggests this was always a clean, straight car. There are plenty of performance styling cues, most notably the hood scoop and the aforementioned laser stripe along its flanks, and the hidden headlights work rather well on the redesigned Torino, although these are a little finicky. The 1970 redesign also added a full-width taillight, a design element that would sweep through the entire FoMoCo lineup in the early '70s, but scarcely does it look better than on the Torino. The handsome white interior offers cloth inserts on the seats that add an upscale look and plenty of comfort to the big ragtop. Black carpets work with a dark dash to keep it from being too bright inside, and the arrow-style design on the door panels mirrors the overall look of the car's profile. The big, wide instrument panel puts all the controls right in front of the driver, including the factory A/C, which remains fully functional today. The carpets are in excellent condition, and while the seats show some light wear, they remain comfortable enough for all-day cruises. The original AM radio still lives in the center of the dash, and the lack of a console makes it feel positively huge inside. And speaking of huge, the trunk is quite spacious and uses a typical Ford plaid mat and includes a full jack assembly as well. Overhead, there's a black power convertible top with glass rear window and a new white boot. Power comes from a 351 cubic inch V8 with a 2-barrel carburetor, a specification necessitated by the era but still able to deliver torquey performance that's a lot of fun. The engine bay is quite stock, with Ford Blue in all the right places, a stock air cleaner, and that big A/C compressor which has been converted to R134a refrigerant. It starts almost instantly and idles so smoothly that you'd swear it's a Lincoln, not a Ford, and all that torque makes it feel lively on the street. The 3-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and there are 3.00 gears in back to make it a fantastic highway cruiser that just eats up pavement. There's a fresh Flowmaster exhaust system underneath that just sounds awesome and the underside is pretty original yet in very good condition overall. The low-key look is enhanced by the plain-Jane hubcaps and sporty 225/70/15 white-letter radials. Documented as one of four by the Marti Report, this is a rare Ford convertible that delivers V8 power and a great look that will have onlookers asking you questions every time you stop. This a 1971 Torino GT with a Thunder Jet 429(385 hp) with 11k on rebuild. Holley 750 carb, top loader 4 speed with 1 3/8" input shaft. 9" Posi rear with 3.25 gear. Runs excellent on pump gas. It has a shaker hood and quarter turn hood latches. Hidden headlight grill that works great. One center fin is broken. It also has a Factory Tach (does not work). Console has pitting on drop plate and a 6" speaker hole with grill. looks fine in place, The dash pad and gauge assembly is nice and clean . The temp gauge wacked out this spring not sure why. car runs cool all day any temp, New 3 core radiator. New headliner and has Cobra door panels and quarter panels. they are in good shape with a few small tears on bottom from boot lugs. They also have the cobras emblem. It also has a rim blow wheel that works. has a new package shelf and trunk mat. It has the cast iron exhaust manifolds that are suppose to be from 429 cobra, with new exhaust with the H pipe. I cant see much of the manifolds in place. the console door is cracked but I have a good brown one with it. The door trim at the top of the doors and quarters is pitted. the lower pencil molding should be re-plated, the rear bumpers has small specks flaking off. this car was originally 351 C 2 bbl . The car was purchased running and driving 6 years ago and has always run and drove with no problems. I did not drive much do too short seasons a many cars . It also has manual steering .I have all the parts that were removed by previous owner to put it back on if desired. It has Magnum 500 15" with nice chrome. the windshield is cracked but passes NYS inspection. they are now available new as of last year. The paint looks and shine great but has some minor dust specks in it and a few chips but still Looks great! this car is not prefect but a nice cruise night and local car shows. This is a 1971 Ford Torino 500 Spring Edition. It has the deluxe interior with the halo roof. It still wears its original pewter paint job. It is a numbers matching V8 car with a 302 and a manual transmission. It runs, drives, and stops. The driver side fender and passenger side quarter both took a hit and will need fixed. Minus those two spots the car is solid. It is 99.9% rust free, the only rust that exists is very minor surface rust. The interior is in fairly decent condition. There are tears on the driver side of the front bench, the rear bench is solid. Carpet and headliner are in daily driver condition, neither are perfect but both are decent. With a little bit of work this could be a very nice car. Even in its current state it gets a lot of admirers. A $500 deposit will be due within 24 hours of the end of this auction.
