Owning a classic car is a something most people really enjoy. Here's your chance to own a stock looking classic thunderbird but enjoy the convenience of buying parts from a local parts store, modern air conditioning, engine and overdrive transmission and not having to buy a $25.00 bottle of Zinc additive for each oil change and a $9.00 bottle of lead substitute each time you fill up with gas because the engine was built in the 60's? how would you like to cruise this classic at 2/3 the RPM's of the stock eng/trans combination and get 18-22 + MPG not 8 or 10 have more horse power, weigh almost 500 pounds less then stock and handle a lot better? If so, this is the car for you. This is a New Mexico/ Arizona car its entire life, absolutely no rust and is rock solid. This car runs and drives beautifully and gets "thumbs up" every where it goes. The car had been stored for 32 years ( since 1983) in Phoenix with only 89805 original miles on it. A few tastefulll modifications have been done to the car. A wood grain interior trim was installed, the color was changed from black to white and as the 390 engine and transmission had already been removed and discarded before the car was purchased, it was decided to upgrade the entire drive train to a more modern,reliable, easy-to-maintain and fuel efficient engine and transmission. A 1992 Mustang GT HO engine ( 275 HP ) was converted to carburetor use with a 4 barrel manifold, early timing cover with mechanical fuel pump, 4 barrel carb, chrome oil pan, and new HEI distributor . Also for better gas mileage and driveability an AOD automatic overdrive transmission which was refreshed and mated to a brand new drive shaft with new u joints and custom column shift linkage was installed . A brand new dual exhaust system was installed. the car was sent to MAACO for their top of the line paint job were the original black color was changed to Wimbledon White. Also a brand new windshield with new weather stripping was installed, This work totaled $3,760.28 . The paint is guaranteed for 5 years, there was no rust or dents to be repaired. The body, frame, doors, floors , trunk are rock solid with no rust, ever. The car also has the optional spinner wheel covers with 3 spares included. The car has a brand new, never been charged , complete Classic Auto Air air conditioning and heating system installed with the upgrade Electric control box to work it A brand new Custom Autosound USA-230 am/fm radio was installed. The drivers and passenger seats were reupholstered and brand new carpeting installed. 4 brand new tires were installed along with new front shocks and air lift rear shocks, This work totaled $728.54. The car has a new rear differential pinion seal, the rear axle housing was completely flushed, cleaned out and fresh fluid added, brand new rear brakes, drums and cylinders. Brand new power steering pump, front end alignment, brand new ignition switch, brand new power brake booster and master cylinder. This work totaled $2,081.00 . Receipts for all the parts and work performed on the car are of course included. Just 3 months ago I installed a brand new heavy duty battery. The clear New Mexico title verifies the original mileage was 89805. I have put a total of 188 miles on the car .The car has always been garaged . The following is a listing of those things I am aware of that may need further work. The rear power windows dont work, I dont know if this is the switches, the wires or if the motors stuck after over 30 years of not being used. The radio antennae went missing at MAACO , The lower ball joints, according to the shop may need to be replaced but the car drives and steers fine, the top has the dealer spray-on top covering that may need to be repaired or replaced as it has areas that flaked off and have been painted over. The drivers' door panel has a crack in it. The trunk needs the trunk mat kit and cardboard side panel kit to finish it off. it is missing the spare tire and rim I will include a brand new complete set of door weatherstripping for you to install. The Thunderbird that Ford never built. Not satisfied with the power or braking of the Super Coupe, I set out to build a reliable driver that would perform, handle, and stop the way I felt it should. I have been very pleased with the results, have really enjoyed building and driving the car, and it is now time to move on to the next project. The car is available for local pickup, any shipping is the responibility of the buyer, but I will assist in any way I can. Payment will be by cash or Pay Pal. I bought the car in 2004 with 238,000 KM on it, drove it home and dismantled it for the rebuild, completing the project in 2006. The car is totally rust free, body is very straight, no accidents to my knowledge, and the original black leather interior is in very good condition except for some minor surface cracks in the front leather bucket seats. Power is by the 4.6 Ltr. DOHC Aluminum Cobra motor and Tremec T45 transmission bought NEW from Ford Racing, which came complete with wiring harness, starter, alternator, power steering pump, AC compressor, manifolds, clutch, so everything on the motor is new. We used the SDS fully programmable engine management system and MSD DIS4 ignition, new 255 LPH fuel pump, remote oil filter, Kooks ceramic coated headers, custom built 2 1/2" all stainless steel dual exhaust, 3 1/2" alluminum driveshaft, Ford Racing 3.73 Traction Loc rear gears, subframe connectors, and stiffened independent rear suspension. All suspension parts were installed new, Tokiko programmable shocks, lowering springs, all new Moog bushings, control arms and links, factory rebuilt steering rack, tie rod ends, if it moved or turned it was replaced! New body mounts, motor mounts, transmission & differential mounts, there are no squeeks or rattles, no slack anywhere, new hubs from Ford front and rear. Brakes are from the 2002 Cobra with Baer slot drilled rotors, the stopping power is very good. The custom built dash features TPI guages. I have fully documented the entire rebuild with all receipts, all factory manuals, written rebuild manual with all part numbers listed, and many photos of the entire process.

Condition of the car is great for a 23 year old survivor has not been hacked up like most i have seen. Does have minor blemishes that come with this cars age nothing major to fix and, no rust. I am the third owner of this car and have all service records and wok orders attached to this vehicle, folder is well over an inch or better thick. Engine is just over 8000 miles old, ford shortblock w/arp stud kit installed and o-ringed, heads have been totally re-conditioned. Supercharger was re-con at time of new motor. Has overdrive pulley on supercharger, K&N cold air kit, and has been chipped. This car is adult owned all work and maintenance has been done professionally not a kid tuner junkbox. Has brand new tires at all four corners. All four springs have been replaced with Eibach performance springs car rides and handles incredible. Rear suspension has a strut tower brace,(bolt-on). This car still gets 20-26mpg and passes emissions easily. Miles will go up as I drive this car everyday w/no problems. Hi I have this excellent T-Bird for sale, my neighbor has had it park in his garage for about 15 years, He would pull it out just to go to the market and doctors appt. I do not believe that there was ever a passenger to ride in it, from the look of the interior. This is a pretty rare and nice car. Clean Coupe, no rust, no dents, runs great with 62,000 original miles on it. Has been garaged it entire life. black leather interior still looks brand new, except the driver bucket seat has a little wear. (see Photo) Excellent running and very nice driving car. Just recently changed valve cover gasket. This is a V6 super charge. AC Blows but need charging. Nice paint and original wheels.
