For sale: 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass GL. The bad: Gas indicator does not work properly bounces back between full and empty. Heater blower does not work on settings 1 and 2. Has a squeaking belt. Selling for a friend, this low miles '98 Olds Aurora is in excellent condition, recent service, everything works to my knowledge. A fantastic driving car with lots of go and decent mileage figures to boot. Luxurious leather interior, seats five, is loaded. The leather seats are immaculate, carpeting, headliner, door panels, glass, all in the condition you would expect from a car that has been well taken care of, photos show condition! Matching set of Toyo tires approx 80% rubber left with factory chrome wheels (which need polishing out). All aluminum DOHC 32 valve 4.0 litre V8 with a 4 spd automatic trans with O/D. This Olds is rated at 17 city/26 hwy mpg. A little bit about the engine in this car, it is truly a remarkable engineering achievement by Oldsmobile, the car responsible for the incredible "Rocket 88" back in 1949. This was the engine of choice for the IRL and IMSA with many championships to show for it: Las Vegas, Nev.; September 14, 1996 -- Oldsmobile unveiled its new Indy Aurora V8 today in the first public showing of the engine that will compete in the 1997 Indy Racing League series. The new methanol-burning Indy Aurora V8 is based on the production 4.0-liter, 32-valve DOHC Aurora V8 which is available exclusively in Oldsmobile's flagship luxury performance sedan. "On January 4 we announced that Oldsmobile would celebrate its 100th birthday by competing in the 1997 Indianapolis 500," said Oldsmobile General Manager John Rock in a press conference at the MGM Grand Hotel.
