IF A PERSON WAS VERY CRITICAL, I WOULD SUGGEST REPLACING THE GEAR BOX. (THIS GEAR FITS MANY DIFFERENT GM CARS AND IS AVAILABLE ON E-BAY). *THE AC COMPRESSOR DOES ENGAGE. THE BLOWER COMES ON, BUT THE SYSTEM DOES NOT CHANGE OVER BETWEEN HEAT AND AC IN THE DASH. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO GET HOT AIR FROM THE HEATER. THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM IS ALL IN PLACE, BUT WILL NEED TO BE WORKED ON. *THE REAR DEFROSTER FAN DOES NOT OPERATE. *THE TRANSMISSION DOES HAVE A VERY MINOR DRIP FROM YEARS OF SITTING. WE HAVE USED AN ADDITIVE CALLED TRANS-X AND THIS HAS DONE WONDERFULLY. WITH MY DRIVING THIS HAS GREATLY IMPROVED. THIS REMAINING DRIP IS MINIMAL FOR A CAR THIS OLD THAT HAS BEEN SITTING. THIS IS AN ITEM I FEEL DRIVING WOULD BE ALL THAT IT NEEDS. THIS WOULD NOT NEED TO BE REPAIRED *THE INSIDE CHROME DOOR HANDLE RELEASE THAT THE DRIVER WOULD PULL TO OPEN THE DOOR HAS BROKEN OFF AT THE HANDLE. THIS STILL OPERATES, BUT THE HANDLE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A BOLT ON HANDLE ONLY. *THE POWER DOOR LOCKS DO NOW OPERATE WITH THE POWER SWITCH. THE SYSTEM WILL START TO BLEED DOWN AFTER ABOUT 1-2 DAYS. *THE BODY IS VERY SOLID. THIS ARE SOME RUST BUMPS UNDER THE BACK OF THE VINYL ROOF SURFACE. THIS IS UNDER THE MATERIAL. *THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL, INCLUDING THE FLOOR MATS. THE DRIVERS SEAT DOES HAVE SOME WEAR AND A SPLIT IN THE LEATHER. *THE PAINT SHOWS NICELY, BUT WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED SHOW QUALITY PAINT. THERE ARE SMALL PARKING LOTS DINGS AND TINY NICKS THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED-UP NICELY. *THERE ARE 2 CHROME LETTERS ON THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER THAT SPELL ELDORADO, THAT ARE MISSING. *THE RADIO PLAYS FROM THE LEFT FRONT SPEAKER ONLY. WHEN YOU TURN THE VOLUME ON, YOU WILL GET A LITTLE SOUND FROM THE RIGHT SPEAKER FOR JUST A MOMENT. *THE TURN SIGNALS WORK PROPERLY, BUT THE LIGHT INDICATOR ON THE TOP OF THE LEFT FENDER DOES NOT LIGHT UP. And with just 58,363 original miles and only one owner, it's a fantastic survivor that'll be a hit in preservation classes at any level. Cotillion White was probably the most popular color on these cars and the angular Eldorado bodywork wears it rather well, don't you think? It's flashy but not over-done, and the Biarritz trim accentuates the long hood and sharply raked windshield. With low mileage and an owner who always treated it as an object of value, the paint is in remarkable condition for being more than 30 years old and even the bright red pinstripe down its flanks still looks great. On these cars, the critical things are the rubber bumper fillers and fender caps, and in this car's case they're all in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or even flaking paint, which is rather remarkable. Sure, there are a few nicks and other signs of use on the car, but finding one this clean really isn't all that easy these days. In addition to the long streak of stainless trim along the hood and doors, the Biarritz also included the brushed stainless steel roof, which was its signature feature dating back to the 1957 Eldorado Brougham. The rest of the chrome and trim is in fantastic shape for its age, as are the unique taillight lenses with Cadillac crests. The red leather interior was as luxurious as American cars could get in 1984. Pillow-tufted seats are as comfortable as the couch in your living room and show only very minor wear that's not surprising for the car's age. Wonderfully ornate door panels and plush carpets add to the luxurious feeling, as do the Cadillac crest floor mats. Everything was standard on the Biarritz, including power windows, seats, locks, and mirrors, a tilt wheel, cruise control, rear defrost, and automatic climate control, the latter of which has been converted to R134a. The original Delco stereo is gone, replaced by a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette head unit that sounds much better, but beyond that, it's completely stock. The digital instrument panel is a relic of the 1980s, but yeah, it's pretty cool today. The Eldo also offers a reasonably spacious trunk with full-sized spare and jack assembly. Cadillac's sturdy 4.1 liter V8 was the sole powerplant, and it's plenty torquey enough to make this an effortless cruiser. Proper maintenance is critical on these engines, and it sure looks like the original owner stayed on top of it, because the engine bay is very clean and the car runs beautifully. There are zero modifications save for the A/C upgrade, and yes, it's a pretty tight fit in there. Digital fuel injection ensures that it always starts easily and runs smoothly even when it's cold and you might be pleasantly surprised by its fuel economy thanks to the 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. All Eldorados rode on a fully independent suspension with automatic load leveling in the back and they all had 4-wheel disc brakes. There's plenty of evidence of this one's easy life underneath, where it's quite clean and offers a recent exhaust system. Wire spoke hubcaps and narrow 215/75/15 whitewall radials are pretty much the only choice that looks right on a car like this. Fully documented with its original manuals, gold keys, and delivery paperwork, this is a cool survivor at a very reasonable price. HE IS A GOOD FRIEND AND IS A REAL CAR PERSON. ALL HIS WORK IS DOCUMENTED ON PAPER WITH RECEIPTS *WE WENT OVER THE PREVIOUS REPAIRS AND DID REPLACE THE STARTER, ALONG WITH MANY OTHER MISC.REPAIRS. THE MECHANIC I DEAL WITH, IS AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS HIS WORK AND OBSERVATIONS OF THE CAR. * THE CAR WAS THEN SENT TO ANOTHER SHOP FOR FRONT END ALIGNMENT. *THE CAR WAS THEN SENT TO A PROFESSIONAL DETAIL SHOP AND EXTERIOR WAS POLISHED AND INTERIOR WAS CLEANED. WE DO NOT WASH MOTORS ON OLDER CARS. *I HAVE THE 4 SERVICE TICKETS SINCE OUR PURCHASE THAT TOTAL OVER $1300.00 *THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF WORK PERFORMED PRIOR TO OUR PURCHASE AND THEN AFTER OUT PURCHASE AS WELL. * I TRY TO BE VERY CRITICAL OF THE CARS WE SELL. WE HAVE LEFT CERTAIN ITEMS AS THEY ARE. IN REPEATING MYSELF, THERE HAS BEEN A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF WORK PERFORMED. THE CAR HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO A VERY GOOD LEVEL. THE DECISION TO STOP ON REPAIRS WAS DUE TO THE PRICE RANGE OF THIS CAR AND WANTING TO ALSO KEEP THIS AN AFFORDABLE PURCHASE FOR THE NEXT PERSON. I HAVE PERSONALLY DRIVEN THIS CAR OVER 100 MILES AND EVEN THOUGH ITEMS STILL NEED TO BE ADDRESSED, IT IS A GOOD CAR THAT IS IMPRESSIVE. *THE FAULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: THE POWER STEERING GEAR BOX, AFTER ADJUSTMENT AND ALIGNMENT, DOES STILL HAVE A SLIGHT AMOUNT OF PLAY REMAINING. IF A PERSON WAS VERY CRITICAL, I WOULD SUGGEST REPLACING THE GEAR BOX. (THIS GEAR FITS MANY DIFFERENT GM CARS AND IS AVAILABLE ON E-BAY). *THE AC COMPRESSOR DOES ENGAGE. THE BLOWER COMES ON, BUT THE SYSTEM DOES NOT CHANGE OVER BETWEEN HEAT AND AC IN THE DASH. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO GET HOT AIR FROM THE HEATER. THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM IS ALL IN PLACE, BUT WILL NEED TO BE WORKED ON. *THE REAR DEFROSTER FAN DOES NOT OPERATE. *THE TRANSMISSION DOES HAVE A VERY MINOR DRIP FROM YEARS OF SITTING. WE HAVE USED AN ADDITIVE CALLED TRANS-X AND THIS HAS DONE WONDERFULLY. WITH MY DRIVING THIS HAS GREATLY IMPROVED. THIS REMAINING DRIP IS MINIMAL FOR A CAR THIS OLD THAT HAS BEEN SITTING. THIS IS AN ITEM I FEEL DRIVING WOULD BE ALL THAT IT NEEDS. THIS WOULD NOT NEED TO BE REPAIRED *THE INSIDE CHROME DOOR HANDLE RELEASE THAT THE DRIVER WOULD PULL TO OPEN THE DOOR HAS BROKEN OFF AT THE HANDLE. THIS STILL OPERATES, BUT THE HANDLE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A BOLT ON HANDLE ONLY. *THE POWER DOOR LOCKS DID NOT OPERATE WITH THE SWITCH. THE DOORS DO LOCK PROPERLY AND OPERATE WITH THE KEY. *THE LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM IS ALL COMPLETE, BUT IS NOT PULLING VACUUM TO OPERATE THE SYSTEM. WE WERE ABLE TO AIR THE SYSTEM THROUGH THE AIR TANK VALVE UNDER THE HOOD. GM HAS MADE AN AIR INLET VALVE WHEN THE SYSTEM WAS MADE. IT IS THE SAME AS AIRING UP A TIRE THROUGH THE VALVE STEM. IT HOLDS VERY WELL. THE SYSTEM WILL START TO BLEED DOWN AFTER ABOUT 1-2 DAYS. *THE BODY IS VERY SOLID. THIS ARE SOME RUST BUMPS UNDER THE BACK OF THE VINYL ROOF SURFACE. THIS IS UNDER THE MATERIAL. *THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL, INCLUDING THE FLOOR MATS. THE DRIVERS SEAT DOES HAVE SOME WEAR AND A SPLIT IN THE LEATHER. *THE PAINT SHOWS NICELY, BUT WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED SHOW QUALITY PAINT. 2000 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe (ETC) 2000 Eldorado Touring Coupe is exceptional condition throughout with 95,000 miles. Reconstructed PA title however the only areas of paintwork are to the right front fender which appears to have been replaced, repainted and blended into the passenger door. The rest of the paint on the car is original and with appearance that is otherwise excellent with a handful of minor chips that have been brush touched which is by no means anything out of the ordinary for a 95,000 mile car. Body panels and door seams are all clean with no signs of rust whatsoever. Condition of interior is superb. Beautiful wood inlay trim panels, seating, headliner, door panels, door jambs and especially shift knob are all show very well. I would grade the interior an honest 8.5/10 for condition. Steering wheel, carpets and other normal wear items are all simply gorgeous. All power accessories are in working order. No warning or other malfunction lights nor messages! Everything is as it should be. Factory chrome wheels are like new, undamaged nor curb rash at all. Normally we do not bother with R title cars but the simple fact of the matter is that there are cars that have sustained considerably worse damage which remain "clean" titles. It all depends on how the insurance company and/or the owner chose to handle the situation at the time of the incident. After careful examination, it was decided was just too nice of car not to add to our inventory. The interior is one of the best we've come across in an 1997-2002 Eldorado in some time and this final generation Eldorado has remained very strong in the older Cadillac market. This, coupled with the most desirable color combination of Pearl White, chrome wheels and sunroof with only 95,000 miles on the clock to be offered at this price would be difficult to duplicate. The very finest examples of these cars can command up to $15,000 and even more. Offered at a very realistic price of $5,495 and have car ready for summer cruising that'll catch looks all day long! Mechanically, every bit on the par with cosmetic condition which is to say excellent. Having logged several hundred test miles, I'm prepared to attest this car runs and drives as just good as any we've seen. This is really a nice car! Also, the previous owner saved and laminated(!) a number of service receipts as well as an original 2000 Eldorado Sales Brochure in the trunk as well - usually good sign when an owner takes the trouble to do that.
