After the inspection is complete, they call me with the results. I then either do the repairs and put the vehicle up for auction, or if the problems are too numerous, and it looks like she's going to be a problem vehicle, I liquidate the vehicle at a local auction. My repairs average about $400.00 per unit. Please understand that we are not in the vehicle restoration business. I don't replace every teeny tiny part that is not brand new. The folks who check out these units have been working with us for several years now, and they dont abuse my business. If the brakes are in good shape, they tell me. If they are below their recommendations, I replace them. If they tell me that it needs an alignment, I have it aligned. If it doesn't need an alignme... All these vehicles are driven by myself, and I do everything I can to deliver a clean, reliable product. I don't like any surprises, and I know that you dont either. These are all used vehicles. Manufacturer Recall Issued NHTSA #14V273 Recall #E1S Safety Recall E0S (E1S) Interim Notice - 2004 through Certain 2011 MY Toyota Sienna (2WD) Vehicles REVISED REMEDY UNDER DEVELOPMENT Excessive Corrosion of the Spare Tire Carrier Cable Status: Remedy Not Available Description: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2004-2011 Sienna vehicles originally sold in, or currently registered in, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The affected vehicles have a spare tire carrier assembly mounted under the vehicle whose attachment cable may corrode due to high concentrations of road salt splashing onto the spare tire carrier. If the carrier cable is corroded due to road salt, the spare tire may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy: Toyota will send owners an interim notification to advise owners of the recall and dealers will remove the spare tire and relocate it to the luggage compartment, free of charge. Owners will be mailed a second letter when remedy parts are available and dealers will replace the spare tire carrier assembly with an improved one, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. NOTE: 2004-2010 Siennas subject to this recall were subject to recall campaign 10V-160 initiated in 2010. The affected vehicles have a spare tire carrier assembly mounted under the vehicle whose attachment cable may corrode due to high concentrations of road salt splashing onto the spare tire carrier. If the carrier cable is corroded due to road salt, the spare tire may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy: Toyota will send owners an interim notification to advise owners of the recall and dealers will remove the spare tire and relocate it to the luggage compartment, free of charge. Owners will be mailed a second letter when remedy parts are available and dealers will replace the spare tire carrier assembly with an improved one, free of charge.
