With the model 851 and 852 Speedster credits going to designer Gordon Buehrig, very few were ever made before Auburn had to close its doors forever. The body has 12 coats of rubbed base clear to give a deep enduring finish. Specially selected rich leather touch material and the best of the Hartz convertible topping set off the vehicle interior while chromium plated bronze castings and stainless steel detail pieces complete the exterior. From its inception, this vehicle has served an exclusive clientele. In the thirties it was the darling of the Hollywood set. to such actors as Clark Gable, Errol Flynn and Al Johnson, traditionally , influential members of society such as doctors , business tycoons, and royalty owned Auburns. For sale is a 1974 Dodge Dart located in our Indianapolis Showroom. This is not your run of the mill, low horsepower 1974 Dart folks. This beast was built with one thing in mind, to go FAST!!!! This 1974 Dodge Dart is powered by a 408 CID Stroker small block V8 engine, backed by a 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission, running to a 8 3/4 rear end with 4.30 gears. The engine was professionally built by Mike Liston at MRL Performance and started with a new 360 CID Magnum block that was bored and stroked out to 408 CID. Internally a forged Scat crankshaft was dropped in with I-Beam Rods and Pistons, along with a Comp Cams Solid Roller cam and lifters. A set of Hughes Stage 3 CNC ported Edelbrock Aluminum Heads with 208 Valves were put on with Lunati Roller Rockers, Custom NASCAR Push Rods, and was then topped with an Aluminum M1 Intake, a Biggs 750 CFM Carburetor, and a Custom Ram Air Intake setup. This combination puts out an astonishing 590 Horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 551 ft./lbs. of Torque at 5,200 rpm! This car does come with the Dyno report and paperwork for the engine build. To handle all the power a \"A%26A Competition Plus\" 727 TorqueFlite Reverse Manual transmission fitted was selected with a Jack Lupo torque converter and runs to a 8 3/4\" rear end with 4.30 Auburn gears and Strange Axles. A list of other performance parts include: Front Disc Brakes, Flaming River Steering Box, B%26M Pro Ratchet Shifter, 3\" Exhaust System with Flowmaster 40 Series Mufflers, 8 Quart Oil Pan, Caltracs Rear Suspension System, Custom Drop Sump Gas Tank, Mallory Fuel Pump, and MSD 7AL Ignition, Coil, and Wires.Not only will this car get up and go, it looks great doing it! The body was stripped and painted in a beautiful Medium Olive Green paint with new front and rear bumpers, tail lights, and side markers put on that make this an absolute show stopper. The interior still sports its original tan cloth seat covers with new carpeting and looks amazing against the green exterior. In order to keep the body from twisting under all the power this Dart is putting down, a roll cage was put in and has a removable bar in the back to allow rear passengers easier access into the back seat. When we want something that doesn’t exist, we simply build it. So is the case with the Medusa, The Viper Exchange and Prefix Corp.’s take on a drop-top fifth-generation Dodge Viper. We haven’t seen an open-air model since the “Final Edition” run in 2010, and by the reaction of the crowd in Auburn Hills, Mich., the Viperati are ready for another one. “It’s gorgeous,” said George Batejan, a Viper owner. “We have three Vipers already and may be in the market for a fourth.” “Awesome, beautiful,” said ’96 GTS owner Jeffery Millek. “How could it not be a great design?” Prefix says this prototype was built to gauge reaction, without Dodge's knowledge. Prefix owner Kim Zeile has 10 brand-new Vipers sitting in the shop right now, ready for the transformation. It would take about eight weeks, by conservative estimates, Zeile said. “I don’t like to overpromise,” said Zeile. “The first one took us about seven.” Prefix and Viper already have a relationship. The automotive prototyping company paints and finishes Dodge’s supercars, then sends them to the factory to get assembled. CEO Zeile said he resigned from General Motors 35 years ago due to the politics of working at a large corporation. He’s a mechanical engineer by trade and has built the company into a fully functioning manufacturing outlet, capable of performance upgrades, interiors, prototyping, machining and, of course, its bread and butter: paint. The Prefix Corp. is now the umbrella for Prefix Coating, Prefix Tool and Prefix Performance, with two more companies currently in the works. Zeile and the company have a special place in their heart for the Viper. “We love the car and love what it stands for,” said Zeile. “It’s an American supercar.”Zeile owns a Ford GT and a Corvetee ZR1, in addition to a fifth-gen Viper, No. 002, to complete the American trifecta. Past Prefix projects include a one-off Corvette Z06 convertible. The company is also mulling a Ford Raptor-fighting performance Ram truck. The Medusa hasn’t been on the road yet -- the only way to duck aggressive spy photographers, according to Zeile. When asked about the Medusa being road-certified, he told us that with such a small volume, it won’t be a problem. Prefix paints the X-brace black in the Medusa. There aren’t many changes to the Viper’s structure, which is already well purposed to become a convertible. The carbon-fiber tubs are a little different, but Prefix is using the same manufacturer that Dodge uses for the base cars. Prefix also did some work on the trim, interior and a few other spots. It also has the capacity to do performance upgrades, if necessary. When asked how fast the company could be ready to produce, Zeile said if someone wanted to write a check today, Prefix would be working on it Monday morning. The Medusa will carry a premium of about $35,000 over a new Viper, which is the only way Prefix will make the transformation. When we want something that doesn’t exist, we simply build it. So is the case with the Medusa, The Viper Exchange and Prefix Corp.’s take on a drop-top fifth-generation Dodge Viper. We haven’t seen an open-air model since the “Final Edition” run in 2010, and by the reaction of the crowd in Auburn Hills, Mich., the Viperati are ready for another one. “It’s gorgeous,” said George Batejan, a Viper owner. “We have three Vipers already and may be in the market for a fourth.” “Awesome, beautiful,” said ’96 GTS owner Jeffery Millek. “How could it not be a great design?” Prefix says this prototype was built to gauge reaction, without Dodge's knowledge. Prefix owner Kim Zeile has 10 brand-new Vipers sitting in the shop right now, ready for the transformation. It would take about eight weeks, by conservative estimates, Zeile said. “I don’t like to overpromise,” said Zeile. “The first one took us about seven.” Prefix and Viper already have a relationship. The automotive prototyping company paints and finishes Dodge’s supercars, then sends them to the factory to get assembled. CEO Zeile said he resigned from General Motors 35 years ago due to the politics of working at a large corporation. He’s a mechanical engineer by trade and has built the company into a fully functioning manufacturing outlet, capable of performance upgrades, interiors, prototyping, machining and, of course, its bread and butter: paint. The Prefix Corp. is now the umbrella for Prefix Coating, Prefix Tool and Prefix Performance, with two more companies currently in the works. Zeile and the company have a special place in their heart for the Viper. “We love the car and love what it stands for,” said Zeile. “It’s an American supercar.”Zeile owns a Ford GT and a Corvetee ZR1, in addition to a fifth-gen Viper, No. 002, to complete the American trifecta. Past Prefix projects include a one-off Corvette Z06 convertible. The company is also mulling a Ford Raptor-fighting performance Ram truck. The Medusa hasn’t been on the road yet -- the only way to duck aggressive spy photographers, according to Zeile. When asked about the Medusa being road-certified, he told us that with such a small volume, it won’t be a problem. Prefix paints the X-brace black in the Medusa. There aren’t many changes to the Viper’s structure, which is already well purposed to become a convertible. The carbon-fiber tubs are a little different, but Prefix is using the same manufacturer that Dodge uses for the base cars. Prefix also did some work on the trim, interior and a few other spots. It also has the capacity to do performance upgrades, if necessary. When asked how fast the company could be ready to produce, Zeile said if someone wanted to write a check today, Prefix would be working on it Monday morning. The Medusa will carry a premium of about $35,000 over a new Viper, which is the only way Prefix will make the transformation. At the top of the Skye Silver mill, a custom cold air intake marries wind with fuel supplied by Mallory rails, a 70mm BBK throttle body and 42lb Ford Racing injectors. The resulting air/fuel mixture makes its way from a Trick Flow Track Heat intake to Ford Racing heads that hide under billet caps and polished valve covers. When those heads flood the cylinders, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor sequences fire between MSD 6AL ignition, an MSD Blaster coil and 9mm Taylor plug wires. As the Vortech's 10psi of boost is sparked into 9 to 1 compression, resultant gases are jettisoned through BBK ceramic coated headers. The combustion's cooling is provided by a big Be Cool radiator, which stores water between two electric pullers, a widened support and a snazzy catch can. Charging comes courtesy of a custom, color-keyed accessory drive that spins March pulleys around a Sanden compressor and 110 amp alternator. And overall the car's custom engine compartment is exceptionally well done, featuring first rate ancillaries like an Aeromotive regulator, a small BBK pressure gauge, a remote Moroso breather and a beefy Wilwood master cylinder. The bottom of this awesome Mustang is just as impressive as its slick exterior and smooth engine bay. Behind the mean motor you'll find a Tremec TKO 5-speed that's wedged between a Ford Racing flywheel and Lakewood scatter shield. Lift the third pedal and a Centerforce clutch engages a Ford Racing driveshaft, which spins an Auburn posi-traction differential around a Dana 44 and big, 3.55 gears. Stopping is a cinch thanks to a Mustang Steve booster, 13-inch Baer fronts and 11.5-inch PBR rears. Exhaust is handled by 2.5-inch, ceramic coated pipes that are custom-snaked around Borla ProXS mufflers. In front of the transmission, a Rod & Custom Mustang II suspension is augmented by a 1-inch sway bar, 2-inch drop spindles, Aldan Eagle coil-overs and manual rack and pinion steering. At the sides of the rear end, a CTM Engineering T5 is fitted with Pro Shocks coil-overs and progressive springs. Just inside the brakes, Total Control Products frame connectors perfectly complement Satin Black floorpans that have been strategically sprayed with Mercedes sound deadening. Behind the exhaust, a 16-gallon Fuel Safe Pro Cell utilizes a 255 lb./hr. Walbro pump to supply custom stainless lines. At the corners of the car, gorgeous Budnik Arrows spin 215/45R17 Dunlop Direzza Sports in front of 265/35R18 Dunlop Direzza Sports. And all of this fastback's details, from its Ford Racing starter to its big Moroso oil pan, have been carefully planned and professionally executed.
