If you are looking for a rare vehicle that is extremely performance oriented then look no further because this 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E is perfect for you!  This four-door sedan comes dressed in beautiful green paint that is complimented by a clean, tan leather interior.  This is a southern car that has never been winter driven.  Powered by a naturally aspirated 5 liter V-8 engine derived from the 500SL roadsters and 4-speed automatic transmission, this powerhouse offers 326 horsepower.  It has great options, such as a sunroof, anti-theft warning system with immobilizer, and automatic climate control with active coal filter.  With a modest 68,000 original miles this is the ideal car for any true appreciator of valuable vehicles. The Mercedes-Benz 500E, launched in 1991 and continued until 1994, was a high performance version of the W124 Mercedes, produced between 1986 and 1995. It was spectacularly built and well known for its ability to handle large amounts of power. The 500E was collaboration between Mercedes and Porsche. Rumored to be using secrets from its cancelled 989 sports sedan project, it stuffed many of the mechanicals from the 500SL roadster into the W124. Each 500 E was hand-built by Porsche, being transported back and forth between the Mercedes plant and Porsche's Rossle-Bau plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany during assembly, taking a full 18 days to complete each model.  The Mercedes 500E is a rare car indeed, especially in the United States.  Between 1991 and 1995 about 10,000 were built, but only 1,505 of those came to the United States. Sports car braking performance also came from SL components such as front SL 500 300 mm disks with 4-piston calipers came installed on the 1992 and early 1993 cars. The later 1993, and all 1994 cars came with the upgraded 320 mm set taken from the 600 SL. Rear brakes on all years were 278 mm brakes from the 500 SL. In the USA, the 500 E came fully equipped, with the only options available to the buyer being a dealer-installed CD changer and an integrated cellular telephone.
