First generation Mercury Cougars may be classified as \'pony cars\', but they have an extra sense of elegance about them. They share a lot of hardware with their Mustang cousin, but consider cars like this documented 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 the \"fashionista\" of the pony car segment. They\'re posh in appearance, but muscular by nature. This well-maintained Cougar left the Dearborn, Michigan plant finished in a coat of Dark Ivy Green Metallic and today it wears that same correct earth tone hue well. As you walk around the vehicle, it\'s hard to spot any significant flaws. The paint is smooth and still shows deep reflections with subtle metallic flakes glistening under that clean clearcoat. Spanning the length of the car is a two-tone pinstripe that doesn\'t show any fading or wear, and looks like it was almost applied yesterday. Up front is a full-width grill that is characterized by hideaway head lights and vertical bars. Clean chrome bumpers sit at the front and rear with the rear bumper being capped by the distinctive rear tail lamp. All of the badges and trim are present, and that handsome stance sits on very clean 14\'\' Mercury rally wheels. Slide into the factory correct Medium Saddle leather bucket seats and you\'ll start to notice the details of being in the more upscale pony car. Those plush and fashionable buckets flank a center console that is accented in wood appliqu%26Atilde;%26copy; and hosts a storage compartment that doubles as an arm rest, a cigarette lighter, and the gear selector for the automatic transmission. Moving up pass the gear selector are controls for the heat and ventilation with a Philco AM/FM radio above that. Top dead center of the dash are four switches that operate the different lights throughout the cabin such as a the map light and panel lights. With some tasteful \'Cougar\' badging, the rest of the dash houses a clock mounted in front of the passenger and factory instrumentation in front of the driver, while all being surrounded by more clean wood appliqu%26Atilde;%26copy;. Tying up the fashionable feel is an beautifully finished \'XR7\' branded, 3-spoke steering wheel trimmed with wood grain. Have a look at the Marti Report that is included with the sale and you\'ll discover that this car is actually 1 of 982 that were finished in a Dark Green Ivy Metallic/Medium with a Saddle Leather trim combination! Lift the hood on this big cat and you\'re greeted by a wonderfully detailed engine bay. Front and center is a correct 351-2V Windsor V8. That V8 appears to be very clean and proudly displays chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner lid. There is a correct Autolite battery and regulator, and the radiator even retains its correct tag. Power is fed to an FMX Merc-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission and is then sent to a Ford 9\'\' rear that houses 2.75 gears. The undercarriage hangs an H-pipe dual exhaust system, while power steering and power brakes with discs up front maintain a pleasant driving experience. Delivering that power to the pavement is 225/70/14 Kelly Charger tires at all four corners. Also included with this sale is a the previously stated Marti Report, a copy of the dealer invoice, maintenance receipts, a log book of maintenance records, and an original owner\'s manual. With pony car pedigree and luxury car appeal, this \'69 Mercury Cougar blends a nice balance of class, style, and performance. In 2005, Ford introduced this retro and nostalgic design which started a growing trend for muscle car designs to come. This specific Mustang GT Convertible has barely been broken in. With approximately 4,500 miles on the clock, this pony car still retains its originality with a few tasteful Ford Racing modifications. Under the hood of this Mustang GT is a 4.6L 281CID 3-Valve SOHC V8 with Variable Camshaft Timing. This potent powerful V8 engine is capable of 300 horsepower and 320 foot pounds of torque. But rare is the masterpiece that can so seamlessly blend two completely different vehicles as this stately Ford Thunderbird. You see, this classic bird's profile is merely an attractive illusion as, underneath its surface, smooth 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII mechanicals are right and ready to cruise! Complete with a rebuilt InTech V8, a modern automatic transmission and independent air ride suspension, this stunning Lincoln, err, Ford mixes the best aesthetics of one of Detroit's most storied creations with the mechanical prowess of one of America's greatest luxury coupes. Looking for a truly exceptional, truly unique collector car? This imposing 'Bigbird' is unmistakably you! BODYWORK/TRIM Professionally assembled by Charlotte's own Finished Dreams Restoration, and professionally painted by Winston-Salem's The Paint Shop, this Ford's lust-inducing body reflects a picturesque coat of Raven Black 2-stage. From its glossy shine to its chip-free rocker panels, that paint's deep finish is nice enough to be the star at any local cruise night, and certainly nicer than the car's original, factory-applied pigment. Naturally, a star of that caliber requires top notch panel fit, as the folks who bolted this coupe together spent ample time making sure its jet-inspired fuselage maintained excellent cohesion. Modern headlights, Mark VIII door handles and a power moonroof perfectly complement turquoise birds and brilliant trim that was carefully refinished by the pros at Advanced Plating in Nashville, Tennessee. And today, this classic rolls as a stunning tribute to one of the coolest designs to ever fly out of Dearborn, Michigan. ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN Toss the car's chrome-trimmed hood and you'll find a 32-valve dual overhead cam Lincoln InTech V8 that's one of the hottest and most versatile engines Ford ever produced. Stout, solid and highly adaptable, these Teksid aluminum blocks have spent the last two decades powering everything from Mustangs and street rods to Aviators and Panoz roadsters. And not only does the modern gem crank out roughly 300 horsepower, it also features a tidy appearance that, when combined with the car's monochromatic engine bay, literally looks tailor-made. That high tech mill, fully rebuilt back in 2009, sends power to a Mark VIII-spec 4R70W 4-speed automatic transmission. And that gearbox twists a Mark VIII-spec rear axle that's fitted with mild, 3.08 gears. CHASSIS/SUSPENSION The interesting thing about Finished Dreams is the quality of their conversions. Instead of a simple engine swap, or a pro-touring style adaptation, this '61 T-Bird's body is actually mated to its Lincoln donor chassis as one complete structure. The car's floor and frame are straight Lincoln. That duo is supported by Lincoln's fully independent suspension, which retains the computer-controlled air ride that made the Mark VIII so famous. Power rack-and-pinion steering provides modern turning ability. Pound on the left pedal and power-assisted, 4-wheel disc brakes utilize factory ABS to fulfill a quick stop. Romp on the right pedal and a Ford-spec exhaust system creates a subdued roar. And at the corners, handsome Dayton wires twist 275/40ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports. INTERIOR One of the central themes of pro-touring is creating cars that, despite their appearance, are much easier to live with than their factory-correct peers. Nowhere is that mindset more prevalent than inside this 'bird's full Mark VIII interior. The passengers are treated to plush leather seats, which feature full power adjustment for the driver and front passenger. In front of those seats, a driver-oriented dash anchors Lincoln telemetry beside Lincoln air conditioning and Lincoln audio. Below that dash, fresh carpet centers a simple console between color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, sculpted door panels cap power windows and remote controlled power door locks. In front of the driver, a Thunderbird-branded steering wheel laps a modern, tilting column. And behind the passengers, a fully finished trunk features enough luggage room for a quick weekend getaway. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION AND ACCESSORIESBuild photosBuild receiptsAlignment specsA copy of Standard Catalog of Thunderbird 1955-2004A 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII Owner's ManualA 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII introductory cassetteTwo keys and fobs This splendid Thunderbird is an extremely impressive cruiser that's been professionally finished to exacting standards. It'll run the tires off a stock T-Bird. It rides like a true luxury coupe. And best of all: the car's modern mechanicals can be serviced at any Ford dealer on the planet. Pro-touring is rarely this accessible, and if you're the kind of guy who wants something nobody else has, here's your first class ticket to exclusivity! This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has a modern shine and an overdrive transmission, but everything from its color to the growl of the V8 makes it feel original. Want documentation? This car has tons of it in the form of the original dealer invoice, factory build sheet, Marti Report, and even some restoration receipts. There was a lot of time, effort, and money put into this coupe, and you can see it the moment it gets out in the sunshine. That's the factory-correct shade of Dark Ivy Green Metallic this pony car had when it left the Dearborn, Michigan factory nearly 45 yeas ago. The difference today is a professional respray that has given this color the kind of depth it could never have when new. It strikes an interesting overall balance of the modern and vintage worlds that attracts serious attention at the car shows. There's no better way to showcase a Mach 1 than with the NACA ram air hood treatment and side hockey stick stripes in Argent Silver. The whole package looks great on a body as straight and clean as this one. Given the choice, we think this was the right decision to keep the front bumper body colored but leave the rear in chrome where it matches the gas cap and dual exhaust tips. Of course this is not the only obvious shine on the pony car, because everyone takes notice when a Mustang is on a nice set of classic Magnum 500 wheels. The restoration of the interior was done in a muscle car friendly black vinyl. If you're ever wondering why the bucket seats, door panels, carpeting, and everything else inside looks so fresh and new... It's because it is! Ford also wanted a luxury image for the Mach 1, and so this one still retains its high-back bucket seats as well as the wood veneering on the door panels and dashboard. All the gauges are clear, including the full set of auxiliary readouts. There's even a new tachometer to aid with the manual transmission. This Mach 1 brings its tradition of amenities into modern times with a digital AM/FM stereo that includes an Alpine amplifier and subwoofer in the trunk. There's even air conditioning running modern R-134a for easier servicing. Under the hood is exactly what you want to see, a 351 cubic-inch Cleveland V8. This one is ready for show duty with details like its chrome air cleaner, finned Ford Motorsport valve covers, and factory-correct decals. But beyond just appearance, you know this one has reliable power thanks to components like the MSD ignition and Holley four-barrel carburetor. This is part of a great street/strip package that includes an upgrade to a versatile five-speed overdrive manual transmission that's mated to a 3.00 rear end ratio. This mixture of performance and comfort is seen in everything right down to the wheels with disc brakes up front and modern Dunlop GT Qualifier tires at all four corners. This is that vintage long-body Mustang of your modern dreams. It's the aggressive Mach 1 packaging with upgrades that make it better to show and easier to drive every day. Don't let this sleek green machine slip through your fingers. Our number one focus has always been our customers. What started out as a hobby for owner Roy Cats, quickly turned into a successful business venture as he helped many of his friends find the car of their dreams. By the time 2002 rolled around, Roy was almost too busy to partake in the hobby side of things as helping the people he met along the way buy and sell their cars quickly became a full time gig. Cats Exotics specializes not only in Lamborghinis but in all types of cars from Exotics, to Luxury cars, to Muscle cars, to Rare collectibles. Being car people first and business people second, we have been able to cultivate a customer base that we never take for granted and we focus on building long lasting, trusting relationships with all of our clients. After all it's rare with less than 2% of Fairlane production that year going the range-topping Crown Vic, and as you pour over all the pictures, you'll see an exceptional level of maintenance. Finished in its factory-correct Goldenglow Yellow and Colonial White, the restored paintwork definitely contributes to the art deco style of this coupe. Fords were instantly recognizable with their sweeping chrome trim dividing the two-tone combinations extending from the headlight all the way back to the tail. It's easy to distinguish the Crown Victorias as the highest level of the already top-of-the-line Ford Fairlanes, because only these have the encompassing brightwork that visually separates the front and rear passenger compartments. The total effect of all this chrome, and the optional fender skirts, give this coupe the lower, wider, and longer feel that everyone in Detroit strove for back then. Of course this attitude is helped even further with a custom Continental kit that even incorporates the factory chrome rear bumper that holds the exhaust tips. The matching two-tone interior appears just like it did the day it left the Dearborn, Michigan factory in 1956. All of the vinyl seems amazingly nice and original, which tells a lot about this car's level of care. In the highest echelon of Ford coupes, even the rear seats received the same style treatment, and the roomy bench even has an armrest for individual luxury. The stylish door panels have a similar swoopy design to emulate the exterior trim, and it wraps into the dashboard in a continuous sweep. This was the year of Ford's Lifeguard safety package, which added some interesting items like the padded dashboard and the cool recessed gauge package. As amazingly original this car appears, you'll start to notice some cool upgrades. There's an AM/FM/cassette radio for more modern tunes that fits into the original knob and chrome trim. There's even an air conditioner for comfortable cruising. But the best upgrades are felt from the drivers seat. You get to grab a smaller diameter sports wheel that looks period correct in its two-tone with chrome, and there's also a unique sporty floor shifter. Under the hood is Ford's trusty and powerful 272 cubic-inch Ford Y-block V8 motor. It's breathing with Thunderbird style thanks to a Holley four-barrel carburetor, which gives this coupe the power to be an anywhere kind of cruiser. Plus you'll be able to choose on demand if you want the dual exhaust to sound mild or wild thanks to the three-speed manual transmission. This Crown Vic also has power steering and front disc brakes, so it perfectly straddles the line between hot rod and comfortable cruiser. This is one of the great V8 Fords that everyone loves to see. But for the people who really know, you can impress them with this coupe's level of quality and absolute rarity. Between its slick hip lines and slightly larger stature, it was the 'stang that officially laid rubber across the grave of the "secretary car" stigma. Production numbers weren't exactly low, but when an example like this fully documented R-code Mach 1 comes along, we're always happy to clear a spot in our showroom. Wrapping a cool color combination around a correct 428 Cobra Jet, a correct Toploader 4-speed and enough appeal to draw a crowd anytime it sits still, this Ford is an awesome twist on a can't-miss favorite. And if you're looking for the perfect first generation pony car that'll rule local shows and make the best of your summer weekends, it's your next classic! BODYWORK/TRIM With most muscle cars, there's usually a single element that catches your eye long before anything else. But with this Mustang, EVERY piece works together to create a virtual symphony of automobilia. With a solid fastback body that's benefitted from a detailed, rotisserie restoration, this is the kind of metal that could turn heads in primer; and what better way to ensure sore neck muscles than mixing in correct Acapulco Blue paint? That paint coats fit and finish that puts factory-original fodder to shame. That fit and finish is augmented by a slick satin hood stripe, which recreates traditional Mach 1 markings. And to ensure this pony will stand out from the herd, everything has been buffed to a show-stopping shine! For 1967, Ford rolled out a bigger, more muscular pony car. And the 1968 and '69 model years saw that design subtly refined. The front end was cleaned up thanks to a deletion of horizontal grille bars. That brightwork was replaced with a single band of trim surrounding the grille, which, on this coupe, also houses driving lights. Above that grille, a shaker hood features stainless lanyards and a small, silver-detailed scoop. Along the car's profile, bright Mach 1 stripes hover between clear marker lamps and dent-free rocker spears. At the doors, body-matched sport mirrors complement traditional quarter scoops and highly detailed B-pillar emblems. Below the roofline, show-quality stainless edges like-new glass. And when you follow the fastback rearward, a third Mach 1 stripe frames a broad "M U S T A N G" script, triple-segment taillights and a pony-branded fuel filler above small reverse lamps and quad-outlet exhaust tips. ENGINE Back in 1969, if you wanted a Mustang and you wanted to slay stoplights, you wanted Ford's killer Cobra Jet V8. Lift this fastback's scooped hood and you'll find 428 cubic inches of FE big block that's been completely rebuilt from its spry Holley carburetor all the way down to its May (E) 19th (19), 1969 (9) casting date. Long regarded as one of the most iconic mills ever created, factory-supplied Cobra Jets utilized a strengthened medium block, heavy-duty rods, a nodular crankshaft, and larger valves and ports to produce an advertised 335 horsepower. At the top of the engine, ram air cowl induction centers a "COBRA JET" branded shaker over a high performance intake. At the sides of that intake, cast iron heads hang polished Ford valve covers over fully restored exhaust manifolds. A familiar points distributor, which sequences sparks through fresh Autolite Radio Resistance plug wires, lights the fires. Cooling comes courtesy of a stock radiator, which circulates water through pliable Autolite hoses and old school screw clamps. And squeak-free belts, which spin a rebuilt alternator via simple black pulleys, provide charging. Aesthetically, the clean engine bay appears very close to original, featuring an even combination of Satin Black and Ford Blue paint. And everything, from the car's tagged Autolite battery to its bright Autolite voltage regulator, appears fully sorted and ready to show. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Take a look at our professional, high-resolution photos and you'll see that the bottom of this fully sorted pony is a literal expose in freshly restored factory accuracy. Behind the car's first-class Ford block, a tough Toploader 4-speed drives a durable Ford 9-inch that's equipped with solid, road-ready gears. Holding that versatile drivetrain off the ground is a lucid factory suspension, which has been fully rebuilt and correctly tagged. Above that suspension, clean floorpans appear solid and show absolutely no signs of rust or weathering. At the center of those floors, free breathing, true-dual pipes shuttle spent gases from the aforementioned manifolds to small resonators and a transversely mounted muffler. At the corners of the car, factory drum brakes make solid stops an absolute cinch. And everything rolls on attractive chrome rims, which spin F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Custom Wide Treads around polished trim rings and satin center caps. INTERIOR Inside this Ford, a correct and equally attractive interior will make any Mustang fan feel right at home. Everything from the car's floor mats to its headliner appears new, and correct hi-back buckets provide plenty of support for spirited driving. From the captain's chair, a familiar Mustang dash features a nice set of factory gauges, which keeps tabs on fuel, speed, revs and temperature, while a Rim Blow steering wheel keeps the driver connected to the road. At the center of the cockpit, a correct Philco radio hangs over an ornate chrome shifter and long factory console. At the sides of the cabin, bright, crack-free door panels feature an attractive mix of stainless and wood applique. And behind the passengers, a restored trunk features a fresh mat, a fresh decal and a full-size spare tire. HISTORICAL INFORMATION According to Kevin Marti of Marti Auto Works, this super clean fastback was bolted together in Dearborn, Michigan on November 5th, 1968. Considering this is a numbers-matching, and HD manual transmission muscle car that's fresh off a restoration, it might not even last long enough in our showroom for you to read this whole description. There are very few designs from this era that could say both "sporty" and "luxury" so well. This convertible has all the great dramatic curves, flared fenders, and a handsome front end that was instantly recognizable as being from GM's rocket division. This car is coated in its factory-correct code 52 Crimson paint with matching rally wheels. Of course the spectacular shine on the super-straight body is thanks to a thorough re-spray that was performed less than a year ago. This is a true 442 ragtop, so all the chrome and badging are in the right places to take home the car show trophies. No off-white interior could possibly look this good without some serious money invested in a restoration. But beyond the pristine door panels, carpets, heat/defrost controls, and dashboard, this convertible has a serious desirability factor in its features. It's a bucket seat car, with a center console and floor-mounted stick shift. This one even has the cool factory tic-toc-tac. But since this is a luxury vehicle too, there are some great features like the original AM/FM radio, tilt steering wheel, and the power folding soft top. Under the hood is exactly what you want to see. It's a numbers-matching 400 cubic-inch V8 with only 200 miles on its fresh rebuild. The engine bay is tidy and was restored to look like the day it left the Lansing, Michigan factory over 45 years ago. It has a refreshing look that avoids superfluous or unnecessary add-ons to get in the way of people seeing that golden block. On top of that is the Rochester four-barrel carburetor, and the power makes a great rumble as it exits out of the dual exhaust (Yup...400 cubic inches, four-barrel carburetor, and dual exhaust the namesake of the 1969 Oldsmobile 4-4-2.) But if that isn't enough to get your heart racing, one rare feature will. This ragtop comes with the optional three-speed Dearborn HD manual transmission for perfect power control, and an interesting feature to show your friends. As usual with an Oldsmobile, no matter how much power it's putting down, it still has all-day usability. This comes from features such as power steering, front disc brakes, and the Positraction rear end. This is a great classic 442 with the title documentation, restoration receipts, and restoration photos to prove its pedigree. It has all the right looks and features that we know it won't last long in our showroom. Streetside Classics strives to perform extensive visual inspections on all vehicles we represent but we do not disassemble vehicles or components for inspection purposes and therefore it is always possible that there is hidden damage that is not readily apparent. All vehicles are sold AS-IS with no warranties expressed or implied. WE WELCOME INTERNATIONAL BUYERS As an international buyer, it is as easy to purchase a vehicle from us as it is for any domestic buyer. If you decide to purchase from us, we require that you give us your complete name, address and phone numbers (home, office, mobile and fax) and a port of entry that handles containers. We do not ship vehicles open (RORO: Roll On Roll Off) due to risk of damage to vehicle and theft of parts. All international purchases must be paid by bank wire transfer in US Dollar funds only. Once we have received the funds, we will prepare the car for international shipment through one of our approved land and ocean carriers. We file all the necessary documents for export, deliver the car to a US port, secure it in containers and board an ocean carrier. We can land a vehicle to any port worldwide handling container traffic. We export cars regularly and are familiar with export requirements. You, or your agent, are responsible for Custom clearing the vehicle and registration in your own country.
