Finished in ever-refined and factory original Pale Primrose over its original Black leather interior, this is undeniably one of the finest examples of a Series II E-Type we’ve ever come across. You will not be disappointed with this beautifully correct and original example. Acquired by the second owner in 1974, he would enjoy the car in its original state for nearly 20 years before commissioning an extensive exterior restoration with marque expert Lindley Restorations, Ltd. of Pottstown, Pennsylvania to the tune of more than $20,000 ($32k in today’s dollars). The restoration was performed at the highest level, most notably (amongst a laundry list of refurbishments) including a bare metal paint job in the car’s original factory Pale Primrose finish as well as a complete restoration of the car’s undercarriage. The original wood steering wheel is free of any cracks, as is the dash, which houses a fully functional switch panel and gauges. The trunk cover is virtually flawless and underneath you’ll find the original full spare wire wheel and tire as well as the original changing tools. The car has also received extensive mechanical attention, with more than $7,000 having been spent within the last three years and 1,500 miles at Lippincott’s Garage, an E-Type specialist in Sinking Springs, PA. It has had only one thorough repaint in it's current Willow Green. This car was recently discovered in an old body shop in Riverside County, California, and has been garaged indoors there from 1977 ! It has been off the road for the past 37 years. It has a license plate frame on the rear of the car from Peter Satori, a well-known dealer that sold these cars new in Pasadena, California. It still retains the pair of it's original issue black/yellow license plates. There is some old paperwork included with the sale of the car that links it to the existing license plates - testament to the fact that this car has been registered here from the beginning. The car has some interesting early features such as the Roadster style seats fitted, the straight rear interior bulkhead, and the early smooth air cleaner triangle. It is a full matching numbers car and an excellent candidate for straightforward restoration. The engine turns nicely by hand and appears to have never been removed from the car. The car has never been largely disassembled and is very complete, except for a missing radiator and windshield top molding. It retains a lot of it's original clamps, clips, hoses, etc. and would prove to be a very original car for the restorer going forward. This early attractive E-type has a very good, straight body with minimal rust, being a California car for all of it's life. The undercarriage and floors are mostly excellent. There is some rust-through under the spare tire area in the trunk, the front left corner of the driver's footwell, and a small section under the battery box area, but all easily repairable. The rest of the body appears excellent, straight and solid with no accident damage. Panel fit all around is very good with no issues. There is a group of parts pictured that is included with the car. The windshield and driver's door glass has been removed, looks to be in good order, and is included with the sale of the car. This original glass appears to have a green tint to it...The car still retains it's original VIN plate as well as the two additional smaller plates "J-62" and 'Made in England". We have supported the rear of the gearbox with wood for shipping purposes, but have recently found the early style bracket in the spare parts...Overall, this desirable early production E-type is a rare find and offering. It has an enviable California history from new and has been largely preserved, being stored in a dry climate for the last 37 years. The 3.5-liter inline six cylinder looks perfect in the slim engine bay, and this is the original drivetrain as certified with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate. It was rebuilt less than 4,000 miles ago with the addition of an electric fan for added reliability. Some of you may already know the significance of the "M" model. This is also known as the Special Equipment (SE) designation, which raised the output from 160 hp, to 180 hp. This rare special edition actually gave this 1954 XK-120M similar performance to the heavier XK-140 that would debut the next year. But, beyond just power, these XKs were the driving darlings of their day, thanks features like the four speed manual transmission, and front suspension with transverse wishbones and elongated torsion bars. The package is competed with Coker steel belted radial whitewall tires on new Dayton chrome wire wheels. The DHC was a two-year only style for the XK-120, and the SE package makes this one exceptionally rare only about 706 were built in left-hand drive. "NO NONSENSE HIGH PERFORMANCE" Dragon Motor Cars has been competing with their quality light-weight High Performance original design sports cars since 2001. The Series II Dragon Roadster uses race-proven stock Corvette C4 aluminum suspension components in a dedicated race quality space frame chassis with a vintage-styled original fiberglass body and small block engine. The result is stunning in appeal and proved its world class performance on the track with Class Wins each year raced at Run & Gun. Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum The Dragon Motor Cars Prototype Series II Roadster. In the words of the builders, this Dragon is "No Nonsense High Performance". This Dragon is powered by a 1996/1997 General Motors LT-1 series V8 coupled to a 4L60E 4 Speed Automatic transmission. The mechanical configuration is still generally as originally installed. The Dragon rides on adjustable coil over shocks in all four corners, steering and handling as well as the suspension for the front end was provided by a C-4 Corvette donor. Out back you'll find a solid 10 bolt G.M. axle mounted in a 4 link configuration and a modified drive line connecting it all together. Manual dual circuit 4 wheel disc brakes with dual piston calipers up front and single pistons in the rear provide ample stopping power and the American Racing Torque Thrust rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 275/40 ZR17 tires transfer your desires to go or stop to the ground. Additionally, for added performance and longevity, the braking circuits are plumbed with steel braided brake lines. The LT-1 engine has been dressed up with some tasteful additions including true dual exhaust with custom exhaust headers and functional side pipes. (a modification completed by the original fabricators of the Dragon) A chrome alternator has been installed and Corvette covers atop the intake. Cooling is efficiently handled by an electric pilot controlled fan fastened to an aluminum Griffin radiator. The large air inlet in the front allows the Series II to cool much better than its predecessor. Electrically, the Dragon utilizes the factory designed system for the LT-1 engine and power is supplied by a newer Die Hard series battery. At 2200 pounds or so, this High Performance vehicle is pure business. There are no frills, no amenities, and no creature comforts. Mechanical and vitals are monitored by 6 gauges including Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Battery and Charging System Voltage, Fuel Level, Tachometer, and a Speedometer. Turn signals, Headlights, Electric Fans, Windshield Wipers, Horn, and High/Low Beam Headlight operations are controlled by neatly installed toggle switches in easy reach of the pilot. You won't find a need for a stereo in this machine. The sound of the engine and finely tuned exhaust provide all the listening pleasure you will ever need. Operating this machine is no major issue. There is plenty of leg room in the cockpit for even the tallest of drivers. The side profile of the car is low and very easy to enter even considering one has to step over the side into the pilots seat. Once comfortably seated, the pilot has the protection of a full body width roll bar, chrome fire extinguisher, and RJS Racing 5 point harnesses to protect against nearly any unfortunate event that may arise. Operation of this ferocious Dragon is handled by the Radio Controlled Paddle shift and the GT Grant removable steering wheel. The Series II Dragon Roadster uses race-proven stock Corvette C4 aluminum suspension components in a dedicated race quality space frame chassis with a vintage-styled original fiberglass body and small block engine. Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum The Dragon Motor Cars Prototype Series II Roadster. In the words of the builders, this Dragon is "No Nonsense High Performance". This Dragon is powered by a 1996/1997 General Motors LT-1 series V8 coupled to a 4L60E 4 Speed Automatic transmission. The mechanical configuration is still generally as originally installed. The Dragon rides on adjustable coil over shocks in all four corners, steering and handling as well as the suspension for the front end was provided by a C-4 Corvette donor. Out back you'll find a solid 10 bolt G.M. axle mounted in a 4 link configuration and a modified drive line connecting it all together. Manual dual circuit 4 wheel disc brakes with dual piston calipers up front and single pistons in the rear provide ample stopping power and the American Racing Torque Thrust rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 275/40 ZR17 tires transfer your desires to go or stop to the ground. Additionally, for added performance and longevity, the braking circuits are plumbed with steel braided brake lines. The LT-1 engine has been dressed up with some tasteful additions including true dual exhaust with custom exhaust headers and functional side pipes. (a modification completed by the original fabricators of the Dragon) A chrome alternator has been installed and Corvette covers atop the intake. Cooling is efficiently handled by an electric pilot controlled fan fastened to an aluminum Griffin radiator. Electrically, the Dragon utilizes the factory designed system for the LT-1 engine and power is supplied by a newer Die Hard series battery. At 2200 pounds or so, this High Performance vehicle is pure business. There are no frills, no amenities, and no creature comforts. Mechanical and vitals are monitored by 6 gauges including Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Battery and Charging System Voltage, Fuel Level, Tachometer, and a Speedometer. Turn signals, Headlights, Electric Fans, Windshield Wipers, Horn, and High/Low Beam Headlight operations are controlled by neatly installed toggle switches in easy reach of the pilot. You won't find a need for a stereo in this machine. The sound of the engine and finely tuned exhaust provide all the listening pleasure you will ever need. Operating this machine is no major issue. The young man who  put the sterio in the car went on a mission. He was into loud music and nice sound. The radio lights up when  you turn the car on. The floor had security light to help you see day or night. Auto head lights all day long  when your driving. When you lock the door, if you bush it down 3 times after shutting the door, it will honk to let you know it's locked.  It has a deep trunk, spare tire, jack ect. I even have left the Machanic name on my key chaine for more infomation.  I have saved all my work information I have done on the car. We invest a lot of time to locate automobiles around the nation which are in pristine condition, of paramount quality, and which are of the most sought after models. In addition, the automobiles we restore ourselves are done with high quality materials and professional care. Payment and Deposit We require that you contact the Seller within twenty-four (24) hours, one (1) day, of this auction closing. A non-refundable deposit of ten percent (10%) is due within forty-eight (48) hours, two (2) days, of this auction closing and can only be paid to Seller by Cash (in person), Cashier's Check, Money Order, or some other form of certified transfer in US dollars. Full payment of the final price is due within seven (7) days of this auction closing and can only be paid to Beverly Hills Car Club by Cash (in person), Cashier's Check, Money Order or certified funds in US dollars. Please be advised that you are responsible for all fees associated with the purchase of the Automobile including but not limited to taxes and registration. Once full payment is received, the Seller will provide clear title, Bill of Sale and additional Department of Motor Vehicle forms to you for signature. The forms must be completed before the Automobile is shipped or made available to you. Due to the high cost of selling these automobiles, any failure to pay the deposit or final price of the auction within the time noted above will result in full action through eBay and legal action though state and federal law pursuant to this contract. In addition, the Automobile will be re-listed for sale. Taxes, Licensing and Fees California buyers will be charged sales tax and licensing and processed on your behalf. Out of state buyers and over sea's buyers (including other countries), we will send title and you will be responsible for registration and taxes in your own state or providence. All transactions will be charged a $199 documentation fee in addition to the sales price. If leaving the state or country, the car must be picked up by a transportation company that can provide a bill of lading, otherwise California sales tax will be charged. (All licensed transport companies provide these). Delivery or Pickup We highly respect our customers and want this transaction to be as smooth as possible. As an added value we will assist with any shipping arrangements. Regardless, you are responsible for all delivery costs and arrangements or picking up the Automobile. If the Automobile is not picked up by you or your designated delivery service agent or driver, the Seller will charge a fee of thirty dollars ($30) a day after two (2) weeks of the auction closing for everyday the Automobile is not picked up. We require that you be of the age of 18 to bid. The Seller does not provide financing and reserves the right to end the auction early for any reason.
