Roll-Royce Silver Shadow II 1980 Original presentation and wonderful condition This is a very fine Silver Shadow II finished in 2-tone Caribbean blue over Peacock with dark blue fine-lines on the waistline and hubcap trim rings. The interior is finished in Navy blue with dove grey piping. This combination is rarely seen on Shadow IIs in the US. This is a very clean and original example that has been well cared for by its 2 previous mature owners of some 30 odd years. It is totally original with no modifications. It even has it original Blaupunkt blue-dot push button radio and factory Pioneer tape deck in its original position. A nice genuine touch. Mechanically this Silver Shadow II is strong. For the last 5 years it has been in the care of a classic car mechanic and, as you would expect, is a well maintained example. Under the care of the Park-Ward Motor museum, all our Rolls-Royces are fully work-shop tested including the all important hydraulics and braking system. These were overhauled where required; pumps, accumulators, reservoirs cleaned, lines & hoses replaced, calipers & pads inspected and system final pressure tested and bled. The level heights are correct. Transmission, engine ancillaries and exhaust are all inspected and the car road-tested for correct operation. The car drives very “tight” without any of the typical “rattles & thumps” typical of this model. The car is now all up to date on its services and EVERYTHING operating as it should. The body is straight and paint very shiny and consistent. Much of the top surfaces, for example, are original finish, which is quite rare and will please the enthusiasts. Of course, because of the predominantly factory paint, the car does have the signature hair-lines at the base of the “A” & “C” pillars (Rolls-Royce used the “lead-wiping” technique for joining body panels. With the different expansion and contraction rates of lead vs steel, this caused the paint to fracture and so paint stress marks at these points occurred on every single Silver Shadow). Overall, the car is minor on other blemishes and marks so presents well - certainly above average for a Rolls-Royce of this age. As a daily driver, the paint presents as a 8 or 9 out-of-10. The interior presents very clean and fresh with the leather in an excellent state. It has been mildly re-Connollised (a hand-rubbing process to restore colour) and is in fine condition without any noticeable wear and tear. The Connolly hide in this example is the Navy blue with Dove grey piping which matches in nicely with the 2-tone exterior paint combination. The wood was redone we are guessing some 2-3 years ago, not by Park-Ward, but presents nicely without any fractures in the lacquer. The dash roll is in excellent condition with no leather pulling at the vents. This is one of the best testaments for the cars garaged and stored status for most of its life as over time, even minimal sun will damage these. All features, gauges, instruments and electrics work well. All interior lights and dash lights are all fully working. Heater and air-conditioning are fully functional. These are all thoroughly gone thru by Park-Ward. For example, we service all the windows to ensure smooth and swift up and down movement (windows often get very slow on Silver Shadows). The mileage, although not verifiable by documentation, is evident when you look closely at the various finishes. For example, the chrome and bright-work around the car is excellent. The brake pedal has minimal wear. This is a hard car to fault and drives very strong. As you would expect from a car of this mileage that has been well maintained, it comes with its original manual, tools and jack. ~~ This is a lovely example of the Silver Shadow II marque which presents very well in its rare Caribbean over Peacock colour combination. It is not a show car but an excellent 8-out-of-10 daily driver that is in all-round well above average condition. It is available for immediate enjoyment and admiration. ~~ Interesting information on the Silver Shadow series The “II” mark provided considerable improvement over the earlier Silver Shadow. In 1977, the model was renamed the Silver Wraith II (Shadow II) in recognition of several major changes, most notably rack and pinion steering, modifications to the front suspension which improved handling markedly, a dual exhaust along with the first-to-market fully automatic dual system air-conditioning system and a modernised and improved dash lay-out. The model represents the pinnacle in design features for the Silver Shadow series that started production in 1966. For extra photos on this fine example go to the link below. When our Rolls-Royces are commissioned for resale, they are indeed professionally and correctly “fully work-shopped”. No corners are cut. And it is all addressed in true Crewe tradition. There is way too much to list here but to give you an example of our commitment to excellence of the various processes, this is one such example of what we do: Doors and windows:- Every car has its interior door panels removed. If the wood is in need of repair (as most are) it is refinished in-house by trained and talented craftsmen at Park-Ward Motors. This is a detailed process of stripping the wood of its old lacquer, repairing the veneer if there is damage, staining the top surface as per Rolls-Royce methodology and refinishing with no less than 25 coats of clear lacquer. Hand wet-sanded and polished between all of its last 15 coats. New window felt guides and wood-to-glass foam seals are fitted. All window mechanisms are checked and serviced for smooth and efficient up and down movement. This includes an electrical modification to rectify the typical “slow window syndrome”. All tracks, chains and gears are lubricated. Where central locking is fitted, these are all serviced to ensure no “solenoid sticking”, another common problem. Units are repaired and or changed as required for refurbished units. Door wiring and door-to-body wiring is checked, repaired and/or replaced as required. The splash plastic on the inside of the doors to protect the leather panels from rain splash from inside the door is replaced with correct specification black plastic as used by the factory. Cut to shape and glued in position as per original. All door hardware is checked and repaired as required including locks, handles and scuttle finishes. The door is reassembled with all items cleaned and polished. The wood refitted and the leather panels are re-Connollised before final fitment. Roll-Royce Silver Shadow II 1980 Original presentation and wonderful condition This is a very fine Silver Shadow II finished in 2-tone Caribbean blue over Peacock with dark blue fine-lines on the waistline and hubcap trim rings. The interior is finished in Navy blue with dove grey piping. This combination is rarely seen on Shadow IIs in the US. This is a very clean and original example that has been well cared for by its 2 previous mature owners of some 30 odd years. It is totally original with no modifications. It even has it original Blaupunkt blue-dot push button radio and factory Pioneer tape deck in its original position. A nice genuine touch. Mechanically this Silver Shadow II is strong. For the last 5 years it has been in the care of a classic car mechanic and, as you would expect, is a well maintained example. Under the care of the Park-Ward Motor museum, all our Rolls-Royces are fully work-shop tested including the all important hydraulics and braking system. These were overhauled where required; pumps, accumulators, reservoirs cleaned, lines & hoses replaced, calipers & pads inspected and system final pressure tested and bled. The level heights are correct. Transmission, engine ancillaries and exhaust are all inspected and the car road-tested for correct operation. The car drives very “tight” without any of the typical “rattles & thumps” typical of this model. The car is now all up to date on its services and EVERYTHING operating as it should. The body is straight and paint very shiny and consistent. Much of the top surfaces, for example, are original finish, which is quite rare and will please the enthusiasts. Of course, because of the predominantly factory paint, the car does have the signature hair-lines at the base of the “A” & “C” pillars (Rolls-Royce used the “lead-wiping” technique for joining body panels. With the different expansion and contraction rates of lead vs steel, this caused the paint to fracture and so paint stress marks at these points occurred on every single Silver Shadow). Overall, the car is minor on other blemishes and marks so presents well - certainly above average for a Rolls-Royce of this age. As a daily driver, the paint presents as a 8 or 9 out-of-10. The interior presents very clean and fresh with the leather in an excellent state. It has been mildly re-Connollised (a hand-rubbing process to restore colour) and is in fine condition without any noticeable wear and tear. The Connolly hide in this example is the Navy blue with Dove grey piping which matches in nicely with the 2-tone exterior paint combination. The wood was redone we are guessing some 2-3 years ago, not by Park-Ward, but presents nicely without any fractures in the lacquer. The dash roll is in excellent condition with no leather pulling at the vents. This is one of the best testaments for the cars garaged and stored status for most of its life as over time, even minimal sun will damage these. All features, gauges, instruments and electrics work well. All interior lights and dash lights are all fully working. Heater and air-conditioning are fully functional. These are all thoroughly gone thru by Park-Ward. For example, we service all the windows to ensure smooth and swift up and down movement (windows often get very slow on Silver Shadows). The mileage, although not verifiable by documentation, is evident when you look closely at the various finishes. For example, the chrome and bright-work around the car is excellent. The brake pedal has minimal wear. This is a hard car to fault and drives very strong. As you would expect from a car of this mileage that has been well maintained, it comes with its original manual, tools and jack. ~~ This is a lovely example of the Silver Shadow II marque which presents very well in its rare Caribbean over Peacock colour combination. It is not a show car but an excellent 8-out-of-10 daily driver that is in all-round well above average condition. Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II 1977 Recently fully work-shopped with major & minor services done. Priced for quick sale!! This is a very nice presenting Silver Shadow II finished in factory Yellow with chocolate Connolly leather interior accented with cream piping. The carpets throughout are in the same theme. This is a unique car in that it has a glass sun-roof fitted. Please remember, Rolls-Royce in this era did not offer sun-roofs as an option so these were fitted aftermarket and. as such, are rare. Previously enthusiast owned, this is a very nice clean driver example that is fun to potter around in. It is a gorgeous driver quality example. She is cosmetically very pretty and mechanically & operationally sound. The body is quite straight and the paint presenting very nicely, but there are minor imperfections here and there. The car presents with a nice consistent shine but there is a slight mismatch colour on the left rear and right front fender - not highly noticeable but mentioned out of "clear disclosure". Minor and typical "lead wiping" fracture marks which is common to ALL original Silver Shadows are present at the base of the A & C pillars. (Rolls-Royce used a process of 'lead-wiping" to join body panels, so with the different metallurgic properties of lead, steel, and aluminium, the over-lying paint would fracture in these places). When driving up in her, she looks nice and only close up, you can see the imperfections. But overall, the car is better than a "10 footer" as some would use to describe cars. To reaffirm, a great driver example in good condition but not a show car. The chocolate interior is the original Connolly leather and this presents lovely with nothing to do. The leather is soft and supple without any tears or noticeable signs of wear. Very clean and tidy indeed. Certainly, it shows the car has been well looked after in its 38 odd years. The wood was redone by someone other than us and was done very well. We would rate this a high quality job. The refinish of the wood is a huge bonus as this is about $3,500 to have done by experts. And, this car WAS done by professionals with a high gloss and flat finish. The grain and colour of the wood is superb! The carpets are in good clean condition without any noticeable wear nor tears. The dash and rear parcel shelf are clean and present well. Because of the fitted sunroof, the headliner is not original and overall is ok but does have some imperfections and discolouration. The car has its original Blaupunkt factory push button radio with a later model CD stereo system fitted beneath. The trunk is in excellent condition. Very clean and tidy with its original factory Wilton wool carpet. Under the hood, she is well organised and shows all the signs of a well maintained example. The car was recently inspected by Park-Ward Motors (America's leader in Silver Shadow restoration) and underwent any required maintenance. Brake & hydraulics to include pumps, accumulators, calipers and, hoses have all been done and various other mechanical items attended to, including carburettors, engine tune, exhaust and bringing all services up to date. The air conditioning is ice cold and has been pressure tested. Overall a nice looking car in very original condition. This is no show car but a nice 8 or 9-out-of-10 driver quality example. It has its original jack and hand-book. The whitewall tyres have plenty of tread. ~~ This stately Silver Shadow II is ready to be driven and enjoyed. If the wood is in need of repair (as most are) it is refinished in-house by trained and talented craftsmen at Park-Ward Motors. This is a detailed process of stripping the wood of its old lacquer, repairing the veneer if there is damage, staining the top surface as per Rolls-Royce methodology and refinishing with no less than 25 coats of clear lacquer. Hand wet-sanded and polished between all of its last 15 coats. New window felt guides and wood-to-glass foam seals are fitted. All window mechanisms are checked and serviced for smooth and efficient up and down movement. This includes an electrical modification to rectify the typical “slow window syndrome”. All tracks, chains and gears are lubricated. Where central locking is fitted, these are all serviced to ensure no “solenoid sticking”, another common problem. Units are repaired and or changed as required for refurbished units. Door wiring and door-to-body wiring is checked, repaired and/or replaced as required. The splash plastic on the inside of the doors to protect the leather panels from rain splash from inside the door is replaced with correct specification black plastic as used by the factory. Cut to shape and glued in position as per original. All door hardware is checked and repaired as required including locks, handles and scuttle finishes. The door is reassembled with all items cleaned and polished. The wood refitted and the leather panels are re-Connollised before final fitment. Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1976 Recently fully workshopped and serviced. Priced for quick sale!! This is a nice presenting Silver Shadow finished in Old Ivory (pale yellow) with tan Connolly leather interior. Previously enthusiast owned, this is a nice clean driver example that is fun to potter around in but PLEASE understand she is no show car. She is mechanically and operationally sound. The body is reasonably straight but the paint is tired and showing some age. The car presents with a nice shine but there is mismatch colour on the right front fender and various top surfaces show pock marks and blemishes. There are little nicks and chips here and there and the car shows its typical "lead wiping" fracture marks which is common to ALL original Silver Shadows. (Rolls-Royce used a process of 'lead-wiping" to join body panels, so with the different metallurgic properties of lead, steel, and aluminium, the over-lying paint would fracture in these places). Overall, the car is a true "10 footer". When driving up in her, she looks nice but please be clear; close up, you can see the imperfections. The tan interior is the completely original Connolly leather and presents well and tidy. Although not brand new in appearance it does have a very lovely original patina about it that looks really nice. There are no tears, rips or heavy wear. Certainly, it shows the car has been well looked after in its 42 odd years. The wood was redone by someone other than us and although looks nice, it was not done to our normal and exacting standards. It otherwise still presents quite well with a high gloss and flat finish. The carpets are in good clean condition without any noticeable wear nor tears. The dash and rear parcel shelf are clean and present well. The original headliner, finished in broad cloth wool is in good condition but shows some discolouration. The trunk is in excellent condition. Very clean and tidy with its original factory wilton wool carpet. Under the hood, she is well organised and shows all the signs of a well maintained example. The car was recently inspected by Park-Ward Motors (America's leader in Silver Shadow restoration) and it shaped up very well. Brake hydraulics have all been done and various other mechanical items attended to, including exhaust and bringing all services up to date. The air conditioning is ice cold and has been pressure tested. Overall a nice looking car in very original condition. This is no show car but a nice 6 or 7-out-of-10 driver quality example. I think with little extra effort in the paint, it could be brought to a 9-out-of-10. It has its original jack and hand-book. Rear window is tinted dark. The car sports a set of near new super wide whitewall tyres which although not "our cup of tea" sets of the colour of the car well. Should you not like them, we would be happy to make arrangements to swap them out for a more traditional looking whitewall. ~~ This stately Silver Shadow is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Produced between 1971 and 1996, the Corniche was Rolls-Royce's coupe and convertible version of the Silver Shadow. Assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as continuation of the '65 Silver Shadow coupe and '67 drophead, the model featured the Corniche name was applied in 1971. For 1986 the Corniche II was revised slightly with the replacement of alloy and rubber bumpers instead of chrome ones. An oil cooler was added to the new model, while an aluminum radiator was substituted. Air bags were not available in the model, but ant-lock brakes became standard. New style rims were added, along with a new reverse warning lens type and pattern around the rear license plate. Other updates included new designed seats and a redesigned dash. All Corniche II's were convertibles. This is a fantastic example and an excellent opportunity to acquire a well sorted out and finely tuned Rolls Royce. This vehicle has been in private ownership of a local Rolls-Royce enthusiasts and Collector. He holds one of the largest local collection of Premiere Rolls-Royce in Southern California many of which are quite vintage and all winning participants of many Concours throughout our region.
