For Sale is a 1970 365 GT 2+2 AKA Queen Mother 12 Cylinder 5 speed transmission, Chassis # 13471 This vehicle has had extensive reconditioning of entire engine and running gear during its life time by Pat Ottis and most recently by Greg Jones, It recently completed The Sun rally a 1,200 Mile rally out west, The vehicle is in excellent working condition with complete original tool kit and manuals.This vehicle is road worthy and a great driver, available to see in Florida (contact for more information if interested) Current owners write up, I got some background information about it from Ferrari Market Letter. In 1987, Dick McClure, a Ferrari collector from Stockton, CA, bought the car from Leonard Blaylock III of Houston. The car was rough and disassembled and the parts were in the trunk and interior. McClure restored it and rebuilt the engine over the next 6 years with the help of Patrick Ottis, one of the top Ferrari mechanics as I'm sure you know, and Geoff Ohland. He then showed it at Concorso Italiano and other venues and rallied it. I have about $70,000 of invoices from before I bought the car in 2010 from McClure, through Tom Shaugnessy. As I said in my prior email, I bought the Borranis from Tom. I also had him rebuild the brake booster and clutch and various other things and bought a tool roll and jack and roll ($7,500 and probably worth more now) from him. I also either bought an original owner’s manual from him or perhaps someone else. I enjoyed the car but didn't put very many miles on it, keeping it at my weekend house in Michigan near South Bend. I had my mechanic in La Porte, IN, Dorman Garage, install new correct carpets, including the trunk, a period correct radio (I think it's a Becker) that I bought from Europe and the headlight covers. I also had them change the AC compressor to a Japanese one which works much better, but the old York compressor comes with the car.Because I had some difficulty shifting, I sent the car to my friend Greg Jones in FL, another top Ferrari mechanic and also one of the top judges, who rebuilt the transmission and corrected a problem with the clutch cable - the car now shifts beautifully; better than my 330 GTC. The reason I'm selling the 365 is that I don't need two V-12 cars, although I'm thinking about getting a Dino as I mentioned. Greg also put in correct door and trunk rubber and repaired the gauges so all of them work. He also fixed the clock! He also put in a new exhaust system and correct hangers. When I decided to use the car on the GTTSR, I had him source and install a rebuilt radiator. The car didn't overheat at all, even when he was testing it in Florida. I also had Greg handle getting Classiche certification from Ferrari. When inspecting and adjusting the valves noticed the cams that had been recondition many years ago where not holding up. We decided to install new megacycle cam shafts and rocker arm bushing, pins and rollers, as well as ball type tappet screws. When Greg was doing that, he also painted the cam covers and air cleaner with the correct crackle finish.I sent the car back to Greg after the rally. He replaced the windshield (I picked up a chip from that one stretch of the rally that had gravel), cleaned the car inside and out, including the wheels, fixed the ignition switch (you’ll recall that I broke the key on the first day of the rally) and tightened everything down. And as well as fresh oil change.In summary, the engine and transmission of this car and many other systems were rebuilt by two of the top Ferrari guys in the U.S. (Wayne Obry knows them both), it has a lot of new and correct equipment including the carpet, tires and camshafts, it has tools and a jack and I have all of the service records going back to 1987. And everything on it worked and performed flawlessly at high speed over 1,200 miles.

This is my 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider but it could be yours! One of the most affordable Ferraris and will not be mistaken for anything other than a Ferrari. Although some non-car folks might mistake it for a Testarossa at least even they recognize it as a Ferrari and true piece of art. If you’re looking at other Ferrari’s you’re either looking for something newer with a minimum of $20K extra to burn or something older with designs originating in the late 1970’s. Many might look at comparably priced cars like an Aston Martin or Maserati but those simply are not as fun or turn heads like this car (= less of a smile for you L). Car is really low looking with top down and rear is very wide and hard to appreciate from looking at PICs only. This Spider convertible is done up in classic red on black leather. I use the car nearly every week in the summer (dry days only) here in the North East and have never had a problem with it, very reliable compared to earlier cars. Miles on the car are not those or a garage queen with dried up seals or a higher miles highway car. I have a hard time judging “out of 10” quality but I can tell you there are no dings, few chips, and interior is in great shape. Just look at many cars and leather is pulling from the doors where it is bonded and curves in, not here. A couple wheels have a little curb rash on the edge. Inside the front bonnet and in the engine bay are clean. No stick parts like door handles. Top is in great shape and comes with a quick on and off cover when parking in the sun. Includes tool kit, tools, books, and many records. There are plenty of PICs just look at them in detail. I recently put on new rear tires (recommended / stock brand size). Car runs with Mobil 1 full synthetic and Red Line gear lube. Clutch does not slip (changes by previous owner) & major 30K service was done at 26K. Car runs, drives, and sounds great. Car is very stiff for a convertible and handles like a dream being the last without power steering (handles like a go-cart). Clean title, no accidents, and dry. Not much more I can say without blathering on. This car has evaded the ravages of time and is in incredible condition. Originally from Pennsylvania (owned by a little old lady... really!), I am the fourth owner. The mileage of 84,200 is documented all the way from delivery in 1969 to present. The file includes the original owner\'s manual, sales brochures etc as well as hundreds of receipts for work and parts. The car runs great and is a blast to drive. All mechanical issues have been dealt with including an engine rebuild. The biggest Achilles heel with these cars, the carburetors have been replaced with a modern Weber down draft with auto choke and a slightly more aggressive cam to match. The body was painted to freshen up the oxidized original coating. No rust or large repairs had to be done. The door jambs still show the original paint with absolutely no rust. The interior us clean with only one old seat repair on the side of the driver\'s seat. It has had seat covers on it since I\'ve owned it. The previous owner and I put the car up for the winter and it has been in heated storage while I\'ve had it; four years.Pretty much all of the mechanical have been serviced and the car would make any trip you might like to take. Mae West opined, a woman should cultivate her curves, “They may look dangerous, but they’ll be impossible to avoid.” This Station Sedan has become again a compelling feast for the eyes, making a Vargas pin-up break from the wooden fruit crate box utility that defined wagon design since the drawl of a horse. All Packards are famous for being a sight to behold. This car is no exception, possessing an organic shape that is as much a piece of minimalist sculpture as it is a sumptuous way to get from here to there. WOOD: About 2/3 of the original honey-toned wood was preserved with a few unsalvageable pieces used for templates blended in new maple. Stripped, sanded, stained and then finished with 15 coats of marine-grade polyurethane by San Diego woodie expert, Bowden Auto Body, Escondido, CA. All refinished sections were reinstalled as factory fit, with new 3M Di-Knoc used on the door panel and tailgate inserts. BODY & PAINT: Also at Bowden, all body panels were removed and completely disassembled for blasting, sanding, prime and paint, with new metal replaced only in a front floor section. Interior floor and door shells eventually coated in POR-15 and layered in sound dampener. Factory panel fit prevails with hardware, gasketing and seals as needed between all metal and wood. Oh, and Arizona Beige? It’s nothing but pure buttercream icing deep enough to slice. TRIM: All chrome and stainless ( except for dash components ) was removed and either re-chromed or polished by the best shop in Los Angeles, Van Nuys Plating, and it shows. All rubber seals around glass, windows, doors and vents were replaced using Steele Rubber products. The wood graining around the tin window trim was redone for all four doors and both rear compartment windows, six frames total. The dash is untouched, still lovely in it’s original wood grain and chrome jewelry. INTERIOR: A complete, new and correct interior was installed by a talented upholstery shop, Armand’s Auto Upholstery, Walnut Creek, CA, whose owner owned a Station Sedan and knew them well, having restored a few west coast examples with expertise. Seat fabric, door panels, kick panels, windlace, headliner, and rubber flooring were all replaced using correct materials. Seat frames were painted. The rear cargo area plywood and stainless luggage rails were refinished with beautiful, showroom effect without compare. A removable, square-weave, wool carpet is also installed over the original-style, ribbed mat rubber flooring. Overall, proper fit and finish throughout, very well done. Finished with seat belts for five and factory floor mats. From the hushed closure of the bank vault doors, the cabin is quiet, solid and as exceptional as the exterior. The seats are firm again. The windows mechanisms roll with ease. The glovebox is the only perfect square on the whole curvaceous car! Under the original wood-grained dash, seat adjustment, dash controls and pedal release, all mechanical and electrical controls are precise and move effortlessly, operating like new again. Under the dash is tidy, and stock, with NOS switches and rebuilt overdrive cable. The Victrola-sized tube radio was removed to ease access for new harness and improve around-town gas mileage. The only uninvited guest is a hidden toggle switch for the auxiliary, inline fuel-pump. CHASSIS: Underneath, the frame and body panels are exceptionally straight and clean, without signs of accident or repair. Thoroughly steamed cleaned and wire brushed from front to rear, with removal of loose undercoat and debris from entire front clip, wheel wells, across floor panels and rockers to under gas tank, then coated in only chassis black oil-based paint. Seams sealed, no surface rust, solid as the topside of the car. A MECHANICAL RESTORATION TO REINTRODUCE MOTOR TO CAR AND COMPANY. P is for power. Taking inspiration from the powerful reputation Packard earned from V-12s to Merlins, here’s the “fire-breathing” upgrade that the factory eventually proposed to accelerate the Station Sedan behemoth into a 23rd series. But history hadn’t been so kind. So better late than never. Out with the tired, original 288 and in with this fresh 327 engine rebuilt by Ross Miller of Speedwell Garage. Ross, a master mechanic and engineer, National Packard Club judge, forum advisor, international ambassador and overall skinned-knuckle, rolled sleeves, hands-on flywheel for all roadworthy endeavors in a Packard. 327 c.i. Thunderbolt H.O. head ( iron-1953 ) w/ 4-barrel Carter carb & manifolds 180 hp, 5 bearings, solid lifters Engine H402789, cast 5-24-49 ( H=23rd series, donated from a low-mileage Super ) Note: The anemic, original 288 c.i., 135 hp, 2-barrel, G267172 CE, dated 11-9-48 ( G=22nd series ) is available as a cheap core, or fully rebuilt, from Ross Miller, Speedwell Garage, Parton, MD 21120 ( 410-357-4561 ). With the M back in motor, every component also under the hood has been rebuilt or replaced with NOS and NAPA to give this car a complete, new start on a second life with renewed cooling, vacuum, heating, electrical and fuel systems. Nothing untouched, nothing left to guess, fiddle or curse. Other assorted mechanical chores crossed off: COOLING Radiator, heater core, fan and control valve thoroughly rebuilt, with fresh hoses and coolant. Big, comfortable, and able to effortlessly cruise across the country, this is first-class travel the way it was meant to be. There's a lot of sheetmetal here, and the good news is that it's all in excellent shape. The yellow paint appears to be a special order color identified by "SPECIAL" on the cowl tag; it's a bit brighter than Omega Yellow, which was available that year, and we have to say that it looks great on the full-sized Olds. It was repainted a few years ago, but this is otherwise a good original car that's led an easy life, so the sheetmetal lines up well, the doors close firmly, and it looks quite crisp overall. The white rub strip was reinstalled after that paint was dry and as far as we can tell, this was a trim-off job that looks very sharp around all the edges. Details like the urethane rubber fillers between the body and bumpers are in excellent condition and all the lenses are bright and clear, another indicator of a car that's lived indoors. And like most luxury cars of the '70s, there's plenty of chrome, including the bumpers, grille, headlight surrounds and windshield frame. The white interior appears to be almost entirely original, which, again, will give you some indication of how well-maintained this car really is. The driver's seat shows some minor wear, mostly in the high-traffic area where someone would slide behind the wheel, but there's nothing in need of replacement. Black carpets are probably a bit newer than the rest and look great, while the back seat is very well preserved. The dash pad and the woodgrained inserts are excellent with no fading or cracking, and you'll note that this car's list of accessories include A/C (still fully operational), power windows, cruise control, and a tilt steering column. Gauges are crisp and bright, if only covering the basics, and even the original AM/FM radio is still doing its thing in the middle of the dash. The white power convertible top is GM's "scissor" design that permits a full-width rear seat and includes a glass rear window and matching white boot. The trunk is neatly finished with original-style mouse-fur pad and a matching spare assembly. Oldsmobile's 350 cubic inch V8 doesn't share any major components with other divisions' small block motors, and that's entirely a good thing. It's torquey and smooth with a distinctly different personality than comparable Chevy or Pontiac motors. The engine bay looks largely original, with a factory air cleaner up top, traditional Oldsmobile Gold engine enamel, and plenty of evidence of proper maintenance over the years. With your full-sized convertible, power steering and brakes were standard equipment, and this one includes a smooth-shifting TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and highway-friendly gears out back. A mellow dual exhaust system gives it just the right sound for its luxurious mission and with air shocks on the rear axle, it's ideally set up for parades with the homecoming queen perched on the rear seat. Interesting factory alloy wheels are a neat accessory and wear correct 225/70/15 Goodyear whitewall radials with a very period tread pattern. In terms of bang for the buck, full-sized convertibles like this are hard to beat. How can you not love its combination of style, open-air motoring, and V8 power?
