The vintage burgundy paint look good, nice burgundy interior, good running small block engine, nice shifting automatic transmission, power disc brakes in front, new American Racing wheels with good tires. VIN 6F07T320700 MILES ON CAR: It is reading 55010, it probably has another 100,000, but you can't tell by looking or driving. HISTORY: I bought the car from a good car restoring friend that lives near Cincinnati. The car was born with a 6 cylinder engine. It has had a complete conversion to V8. The wheels are now 5 lug, disc brake set up in front. The only way I can tell is by the VIN. I'm seeing more done this way, its done because a good body is hard to find and the conversion is not hard. IS THERE ANY RUNST? I don't see any rust bubbles in the paint, the frame rails look real solid to me, the floor look solid with a couple of small metal patches. HOW IS THE ENGINE? It starts and runs good, past owner said it was a 289, but I have not run casting number. I hear no knock or blue smoke. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a good shifting C4 automatic. HOW IS THE PAINT? Upper end driver quality. I see no dents or dings and no rust bubbles. The shine is very good and the car looks straight when I look down the sides. The color is vintage burgundy. I do see some spec under a critical eye inspection. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? It is burgundy and in good condition. No cracks in the dash pad, carpet good, seat covers nice. door panels have some waves, head liner nice with 1 small patch. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? I consider it driving real good, manual steering. HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? Good, it has a power brakes set up added as well as disc brakes in front. HOW IS THE EXHAUST SYSTEM? Its looks new, aluminized pipes with muffler that look like Flow Masters, it is dual exhaust. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK! BRAKES LIGHTS WORK! HORN NOT WORKING! This is a good older restoration of a classic Packard 1800 Convertible Coupe. We purchased her in 2004, replaced the carpet, wood grained the dash obtained a perfect hood mascot and have enjoyed driving her on tours, to car shows and just for Sunday outings as she is always reliable and fun to drive, not to mention a head turner -- not too many of this type around nowadays. Due to our age and having too many cars, we are 'culling the herd' a bit by selling a couple of our 'babies'. She has a few minor paint chips and flaws due to her age and because she is a driver. As shown in the pictures, there is a slight dent in the trunk lid from someone in the past closing it without releasing the hinges and a slight scratch on the driver's door as well as other small areas that can be corrected easily. Tires are good and about 3 years old. She has an overdrive transmission that is not connected, newer carpet, wood-grained dash and miscellaneous extra parts -- starter, generator, fuel pump carburetor AND a 1940 110 Packard engine as well. Someone before us had replaced the original engine with a 1946 6 cylinder (exactly the same as 1940 as Packard produced it for many years). Mileage is an estimate only as I cannot guarantee it due to the age of the car. The engine has the overdrive transmission but it is not operational due to procrastination on my part.
