1949 Chevrolet 3100. I got it from a Barn/Garage in CT. I cleaned up the carb, added fresh fuel and a new fuel filter and it fired right up. It Runs and drives great. Has original motor with 80,000 miles. Like I said it starts right up without any problems. It actually starts easier than my daily driver. I love the foot pedal starter. It has a "3 on the Tree" manual transmission. Shifts through all the gears and reverse with no problems. Clutch works good. Gauges are also working. Speedo is missing the needle. Odometer is working. Fuel Gauge works. Oil Pressure Gauge works. *All the Glass is there and not broken* The driver side door glass is off the track will need to be put back in place. Body is in great shape. There is some black primer on fenders and hood. Fenders both front and rear are in great shape. Bed has all the wood boards in place. Hood is in great shape. Tailgate looks great. Everything is there accept the running boards (They are available in many places). I have the front bumper. It will be included. Bench seat has been reupholstered. Also the door panel were done to match the bench seat. It has brand New Tires all around, Center caps are there. This is a complete running driving truck, Brakes work all around . This is not some old junk truck in 100 pieces and there are no piles of parts to go with it. It is a running driving stopping fire it right up truck, Somebody also upgraded it to a 12 volt system, It is a 1949 truck (68 yrs, old) so there is a spot or two of rust but nothing heavy. I think you could say that it has a Great Patina to it. I also have a 1974 Corvette sitting on a new chassis. I was going to put the truck on the vette but this truck is too good to take apart. (Just my opinion) I could include the vette for a fee too? Vette has 350 with aluminum heads, 4 speed on a new chassis. So like I said the truck is sold as is. Its 68 yrs old. There will be some wear and age. It is not a 2017 Silverado. I feel that I have done my best to describe the truck. I am sure that some of you have much more knowledge than I do. That is cool with me. I am not looking to get in to a battle of the wits or even some crazy email feud. The truck runs and drives and stops. I drove it around for at least an hour today. No problems at all. No overheating or leaking. No broken parts. I know this truck could easily be restored to 100%. It is all there. Comes with CT. This truck underwent a 2-year frame off Resto. It's a period correct resto with only the paint color being changed. Everything was either replaced or rebuilt and we have pictures that show the truck off the frame and the cab down to the metal. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. When it was set off the frame they took it down to the bare metal and removed the doors and front end. What work was needed was done and everything was refit before paint. Everything is covered in the Lexus Pearl Red that is accented by the Classic Black Fenders and Running Boards. After paint the windows were reinstalled with new seals along with new weather stripping. All the Chrome was replaced with new down to the door handles. Inside the bed it's also all new and looks great. To keep with the 50's style it has the painted steel wheels with the dish hubcaps and a set of wide white tires. Next, we will look at the interior of the Pick Up. On the inside it's done with the correct bench seat that's covered in the Dark Gray with Red Stitching. The upper door panels are covered to match. The carpet and headliner is done in black. When you look at the dash it all looks correct with the metal part being done in body color. Also, the gauges and the column appear stock. Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood the inner fenders and firewall are all painted body color and the inner fenders are black. The engine is a period correct 255 L6 that's mated to the 3 Speed Trans and Stock Rear End. The engine is painted the factory Gray and is dressed with the black breather. The charging system was changed to a 12 Volt System. Under this pick up is all done stock with the correct drop axle up front and Four Wheel Drum Brakes. Most of the chrome elements have been painted over to help the smooth appearance, but that doesn't mean you miss out on all the '50-style bright work. In fact, it now stands out better in places like the headlight surrounds and dog dish hubcaps. Things only get better inside, where the color scheme continues as a complement to a gray tweed. This looks and feels the best on the bench seat that has been sculpted to deliver individual-bucket style comfort. There's plenty of other nice features for you and your passenger that ranges from the AM/FM/cassette stereo that can be adapted for more modern tunes to vents for air conditioning. The driver gets an aggressive Grant GT steering wheel, and beyond that are a full set of VDO gauges. To the left of the steering column is also a large tach, which is a nice hint at what's under the hood. If you were missing any of the brightwork on the exterior, the engine bay more than makes up for it. The 350 cubic-inch V8 has been dressed with attention-grabbing shiny features like the big B&M snorkel air grabber, radiator shroud, and valve covers. But beneath the great-looking sea of coral and chrome is also some real substance. This V8 has been built with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, .030 bored over kit, amid camshaft, and you'll also see an R134 AC compressor. The motor exhales through long tube headers on its way through the glasspack exhaust. With handsome good looks that are common to all the Advance Design pickups, it's instantly recognizable and has become one of the driving forces behind the surging popularity of vintage trucks. Simple is always better on these trucks, and the icy white paint job keeps it looking smooth without taking away from the old-school look. The 5-window cab is the one to own, with improved visibility and a bright, airy interior, and collectors always grab these first. Well finished, it's a nice blend of original panels and recent paint that was done not to stun judges at a car show, but to stand out in a crowd full of red and black and wildly painted pickups. It's got a great shine and there's obviously plenty of time invested in getting the bodywork straight, or else it was an ultra-clean original, or maybe both. The grille was painted to match and there's a simple bumper up front with a roll pan with LED taillights in back, and there's just the right amount of jewelry with chrome door handles and mirrors. The oak bed is refinished with stainless rub strips and a hidden fuel filler cap, and the contrast against the white paint is pretty sharp. Inside there's a pair of late-model bucket seats that are comfortable and supportive, and while it's important to realize that these vehicles were tools, the cloth and leather upholstery gives it an upscale look inside. The door panels are finished in a combination of painted steel that matches the body and tweed inserts that soften the interior somewhat. Gray carpets help with noise control and there's a full headliner overhead that makes it feel very finished. The steel dash is intact and full of big, round Auto Meter gauges that appear to have been specifically designed for this application. The rest of the dash has been smoothed for a clean look and a low-profile A/C system was tucked in underneath. The fat Grant steering wheel on a tilt column makes it easy to get comfortable at the wheel, so this truck is ideal for your next Power Tour. Power comes from a fresh 350 cubic inch Summit Racing crate motor, which is an easy fit in the 3100's engine bay. With the A/C system, there's a lot going on, but they still dressed it up with chrome valve covers and a matching air cleaner, and the work looks very OEM. There's a big aluminum radiator up front, a Holley carburetor on an Edelbrock intake manifold, and a serpentine belt drive system for the accessories. Long-tube headers feed a custom dual exhaust system that sounds just about right, and it's got both power steering and power disc brakes thanks to a Camaro subframe transplant. There's also a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, so it's a fantastic highway cruiser, and the 10-bolt rear end is happy to cooperate. The chassis hasn't been detailed for show, but it is solid with no issues rolls on painted steel wheels with staggered 205/70/15 front and 245/60/15 rear blackwalls that look right on a commercial vehicle. Ready to enjoy and still able to do a little work on the side, this Chevy is a great example of a segment of the hobby that will be seeing big gains in the coming years. They've got a ton of personality, they're super popular at car shows, and they look like they're raring to go even when they're parked. This orange 1956 Chevy 3100 has all of the charm and style with a ton of power and some nice convenience items...sounds good to us! Orange certainly wasn't a factory color for 1956, but you have to admit it looks great here. The paint job was done a few years ago and it's holding up great with a ton of gloss and depth. You'll notice the face isn't quite right; it's the even more photogenic grille, hood and fenders from a '57. All of the chrome is new and shines beautifully. This is a deluxe cab, so it not only has the wraparound windshield but also the rear window, too. It's a great update from the "five window" cabs of the previous generation, and it's a TON of glass to see out of. Out back you'll find a smoothed tailgate with an oversized bow tie and a whimsical Huckleberry Hound logo, which is a tribute to this Chevy's nickname "Huck." The bed is oak and stainless, and it looks great. The lights and lenses are beautiful, and what trim there was from the factory has been shaved. This truck stands out! Inside you'll sit on a 90's cloth C/K bench seat that's exponentially more comfortable than the stock vinyl slab. The dash was properly painted to match the exterior, as were the doors and the rest of the interior. There's gray carpet on the floor and a gray upholstered headliner above. Aluminum inserts on the doors match the billet gauge cluster filled with Auto Meter gauges. A woodgrain Grant GT wheel is bolted to a newer tilt steering column for a far more modern feel than the stock tiller. A big tach is dead center on the dash while an AM/FM/cassette deck and the vents and controls for the A/C are on the front. It's a great place to be. Pop the hood and check out the 406 cubic inch small block inside. It's full of good stuff from top to bottom. Keith Black pistons swing from heavy duty 5.7 rods while iron heads fortified with 2.02/1.60 stainless valves sit atop. Roller tip rockers get their marching orders from the Edelbrock cam within as the fuel and air intake is left to a Holley Street Avenger carb and a Weiand dual plane intake. An Accel HEI ignition handles the spark while long tube Headman Hedders carry away spent gasses. You'll also find cool custom inner fender panels, billet valve covers and a matching air cleaner, and an aluminum radiator. You could get a small block motor in 1956, but it certainly didn't run or look this good. You'll also find power steering and power brakes with front discs, so you know it's going to drive a bunch better than new. The exhaust is 3 inches in diameter with a pair of Flowmaster mufflers and an H crossover. Power routes back through a rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and on to a-12 bolt rear with 3.08 gears for cruising. Chevy 15-inch Rally wheels hold a set of 255/70/15 Grand Am Radial GT tires, and there's a matching spare held in the bed. All the usual tricks work here, and with a strong-running 350 under the hood, what you get when you're done is a fast, fun, and surprisingly practical hauler that will attract a ton of attention wherever it goes. First of all, the bright red paint is an eyeball magnet that grabs your attention and really emphasizes the all-new look of the '55 Chevys. You can forget being subtle and staying under the radar with this one, and once you stop expect to be the center of attention, because it looks like a million bucks. The bodywork, which was already dramatic right out of the box, looks even better when it's been smoothed, shaved, and buffed like this truck's skin has. The paint is fairly recent, so it has an awesome gloss and few signs of use, and really makes the truck look spectacular. Some of the original trim is gone, but the stuff that remains provides a great contrast and has been beautifully re-chromed, including the grille, door handles, and those gorgeous bumpers that are directly descended from the passenger car lineup to give the '55 Chevy trucks a much more finished look. The bed is working class, with a simple plywood floor, but that means it's ready to work as much as play. The interior has been given a full makeover from stock as well, and the working-class accommodations have been replaced by a pair of bucket seats that give it a sporting attitude. Bucket seats are a natural fit in the 3100's cab and they wear custom seat covers that are durable and low-maintenance. Gray carpet fills the floor and keep it from being too dark, and the color-matched door panels and dashboard have been as nicely finished as the bodywork. The original gauge panel is still in place, although a trio of Sunpro gauges under the dash monitors the engine's vitals. Finishing it off is a wood-rimmed steering wheel atop a tilt column, so it's easy to get comfortable. A built 350 cubic inch V8 has been nestled into the engine bay and runs superbly. It isn't necessarily detailed for show, but the small block is a neat fit and the added cubes over the original 1955 powerplant make this truck feel downright quick around town. It's got the usual 4-barrel carburetor and long-tube headers, but it's docile enough to drive every day and never gets grumpy. The blue engine enamel is likely designed to emulate the period Chevy engines and it's a different look under the hood compared to the usual bright orange. Underneath, there's a trick Flowmaster exhaust system with dumps just ahead of the rear wheels and sounds fantastic, while a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission spins a 10-bolt rear end. Power steering makes it easy to handle around town but doesn't detract from the authentic old truck feel going down the road. Shiny chrome wheels wear fat 235/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear blackwall radials that fill the big fenders just right.
