Does need a headliner, The body is painted base/clear in electric blue with black SS stripes, A couple of rust bubbles on the rear near trunk and down near the rocker trim.... Not too noticable. The bumpers have nice chrome. trim and signal lights in good shape. Grill and trim are nice, Under the hood is a Stock 350 small block with th 350 automatic transmission, Runs and drives well. Power steering, AC car from the factory that is non functional at the moment. Clean paperwork. Has headers, flowmaster mufflers on a full dual exhaust. Sounds Great! This a great car and is ready to be enjoyed. Could use some detailing and updates to be an even nicer driver. Enhancing the upscale look is a beautifully finished cherry wood bed with polished stainless strips that tie in with the bright chrome bumpers and brilliantly restored grille. Underneath that beautiful blue sheetmetal you'll find a burly 454 cubic inch Chevy V8. The big block is a neat fit in the 3100's engine bay, almost as if it was designed that way, and it's got a few dress-up parts like the chrome air cleaner and finned Mickey Thompson valve covers. A big 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake manifold help build reliable power and there's a big aluminum radiator up front. Power steering and power 4-wheel disc brakes make this truck a pleasure to drive, and the front suspension uses tubular A-arms. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission clicks through the gears, feeding a GM 10-bolt rear hanging on a set of monoleaf springs that mean this truck handles better than you'd expect. A 2.5-inch dual exhaust system gives it just a little bit of rumble, but it doesn't intrude, making this truck an easy long-distance hauler. That same console also houses the HVAC controls, a pair of cup holders, as well as the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash with speakers scattered throughout the cab. A tilt steering column houses a beefy 3-spoke steering wheel that is exactly appropriate for the truck's personality. This 1958 Chevrolet Cameo pickup has just the right combination of patina and glamor, plus a 283 cubic inch V8, all of which prove the point that looks matter. A bright red pickup truck with stake sides and some vintage-looking signage is perhaps the most American thing I can imagine. This is not a perfect show truck, but rather a pickup that can go places with you, just in case you need to actually haul something. Going to Home Depot? Perfect! The garden center? Buy whatever you need! The bright red paint has a soft shine that makes it look like this truck has earned its living honestly, and the Cameo's smooth bed sides with white insert gives it a flashy look that probably fit right in with the other bow-ties in the showroom. The white roof with matching visor helps with that old-timey look and the warm wood bed sides are a charming addition. The bed is correctly finished with black painted wood planks, not an ornately finished oak dance floor, so no worries about putting it to work. And while you're back there, check out the beautiful taillights that were a big part of the Cameo's skillful blending of car and truck styling. The bright red and white interior also shows that designers were trying to bring a few automotive details over to the truck lineup. The patterned upholstery has a very 1950s look to it and shows minimal wear since the restoration was finished. Black floor coverings shrug off whatever you might have on your boots and clean up easily, while the two-tone door panels soften things a bit. The instrument panel should look familiar to Chevy fans, with a V-shaped speedometer that is remarkably similar to the gauge panel found in the '57 Bel Air. Three-on-the-tree shifting is light and easy once you've mastered the action and there's an AM radio and heater in the dash, both of which were still optional, even on the high-end Cameo. There's also a rather novel fuel efficiency gauge that lets you try to maximize your mileage, which should matter as much today as it did 56 years ago. A 283 cubic inch V8 is a welcome bit of horsepower after decades of six-cylinder power only, and the 2-barrel V8 is torquey enough to be the ideal truck powerplant. Wearing Chevy Orange paint, it has a working-class look that means you won't sweat the small stuff, but original equipment like the oil bath air cleaner and generator mean that you still get the old-fashioned experience when you drive it. There's new wiring for safety and with overdrive, it's a competent cruiser that never gets in anyone's way. The suspension is bade up of rigid axles front and rear, so it still rides like a truck, and the 10-bolt rear axle offers a more street-friendly ratio than the original stump-puller. A pair of glasspack-style mufflers add a snarky exhaust note that's a tradition all by itself, and with 235/75/15 BF Goodrich whitewall radials on painted steel wheels, it cuts a dashing profile. If you haven't noticed, prices on the Cameo pickups are skyrocketing, and this might be your last chance to get one before they're all out of sight. 1950 Chevrolet pickup truck fully restored in beautiful black. I bought this truck 5 years ago and likely i haven't put 100 miles on it. The body of the truck is in excellent condition with zero signs of past or current rust or dings and dents. I would say the complete restoration is 3 years old and the Body & Paint looks excellent. The frame of the truck looks excellent also and was restored along with the rest of the truck. Complete Frame off restoration. Every Nut and Bolt is new with many new parts. ALL CHROME IS NEW. Emblems are new. Engine 235 Thrift Master has been completely rebuilt by professional engine builder. Suspension is new. Shocks, springs ect. The bed of the truck has an oak bed in flawless condition and as you can see it has never been used a a truck. There are no dings or dents in any of the panels of the truck and the floor is excellent. The Bed is actually NoS that i found in Arizona. Never used. The interior is in excellent condition done in Gray Leather to the correct period design. The gauges all work and the rest of the interior as you can see are in excellent condition. The truck has a Chevy 235 straight 6 engine that has been rebuilt and looks very nice and runs extremely well. Carb has been rebuilt also. The truck starts first turn. The rear end is original and also rebuilt. The front end has new tie rods and steering. New Brakes. I have new rear drums taht need to be turned and put on. Everything works and runs excellent.
