It is a 1 owner from central Tennessee that is in mechanically excellent condition. This was a Federal Government Surplus Vehicle that was just that extra and obviously from the low miles not really needed or used. You will find a lot less wear than usual for the year and a fraction of the average miles. So buy with confidence! We have had this truck fully mechanically inspected, evaluated, and a VA State Safety Inspection just performed without any issues. We have an independent repair facility check out our vehicles and do a pre-sale inspection. They take it a step further and check all the belts, hoses, fluids, take our vehicles on a test drive, and even check batteries since it is getting so hot. They did not report back any issues. This truck got a perfect report. It drives great and has plenty of power, all the features work just as they should, and we do not know of any issues to mention. We have driven it out on the highway, around town, and it performs great. We also had the paint on the stakes and other surface areas touched up so it is ready to go through many seasons. I would personally and comfortably drive this truck anywhere. I would not see any issue with a buyer driving this truck home anywhere, even it is a long distance. We have driven it over 400 miles without any worry. This truck has a clean and clear carfax, with no problems, no accidents, and several service records. Overall the paint and body on this truck are excellent! We sent it out to a paint shop and had it freshly painted! A truck with such low miles deserves to look as fresh and new as it drives! The Metroplex Marines Coordinating Council (MMCC) is a non profit organization that plays an active part in the DFW area administering to the needs of area veterans and their families. MMCC is proud to be one of the prime organizations to support the nationally recognized, "Toys for Tots" program. The MMCC is comprised of active duty, retired, and former United States Marines. The MMCC meets monthly to address ongoing needs, requests, and operations across the greater metropolitan area. Metroplex Military Charitable Trust (MMCT) was started in 1990 in Dallas, TX. It's mission is to provide economic support to local military personnel, regular, reserve and retired, and to military support charities and volunteer organizations. Such assistance has been as varied as underwriting every local Toys For Tots Campaign since 1991; providing individual grants to individual returning reservists, who have lost their jobs and/or homes; making grants to DFW USO, DFW Honor Guard, JRB Carswell Guard & Reserve Association, Texas National Cemetery Foundation, and DFW Marine Families. Its longest and largest effort has been to provide direct support to families of amputee, PTSD, and brain-injured OIF & OEF Vets as well as the Vets themselves through the North Texas VA Warrior Patient Shuttle service since September 2007. MMCT has helped underwrite and assist in the Cowtown Warriors Ball in Fort Worth since its inception in 2013. Through that endeavor over $175,000 has been donated over the last two years and is being used to provide direct assistance to Marines and Navy Corpsmen, who were members of the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment at Quantico, Virginia. The Trust, in addition to helping raise the donations, oversees the disbursement of these donations only to honorably discharged veterans, who have received Purple Hearts. http://www.metroplexmarines.org/ Please join Streetside Classics as we salute our veterans and active duty service members and support this worthy cause. This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle is one of those cars that demands a closer look, because the more you look, the more impressive bits you'll see. For one, it's got a thundering 427 cubic inch V8, a big block that's backed by an upgraded suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, and some pretty cool rolling stock. No, this isn't your garden-variety Chevelle. We'll admit that painting it bright red wasn't the best way to keep a low profile, but when the car looks this good, who's complaining? It's probably a bit brighter than anything Chevy was using back in the '60s, and thanks to modern paint technology, it'll look great for years to come. None of the Chevelle's awesome original styling was altered, so you get flying buttresses, those cool hood inserts, and a few well-placed SS badges just to make a point. They wisely left off any indicators of what lives under the hood, because even in red you don't need to beat people over the head with your horsepower superiority, and they'll be too busy admiring the great bodywork to worry about it until it's too late. Both doors fit well, the hood and deck lid close without a lot of effort, and clearly someone invested heavily in the chrome and stainless trim, because it looks fantastic. A black vinyl top adds a bit of sophistication and has also been replaced so it looks like new. The black bucket seat is likewise beautifully restored and updated in only the most subtle ways. Upscale-looking seat covers wrap around the front and rear seats, and with a center console equipped with a built-in clock, it looks very grown-up inside. The steering wheel is a correct-looking 3-spoke OEM unit that frames the original gauges, which amount to a wide speedometer and a fuel gauge, and the bright chrome shifter is linked to a Richmond 4-speed, just as the General intended. New carpets, door panels, and other soft parts give it an almost new vibe inside, and it's been upgraded with modern A/C components to keep it cool and an AM/FM/iPod stereo for easy cruising. The trunk area is pretty bare bones, but then again, a spare tire only adds weight, and after you see what's under the hood you'll understand better. The aforementioned big block is a genuine 4-bolt 3855270 casting used on the legendary L88 and L72 and it's been built for combat. With all forged internals, a set of 3931063 heads, an LS6 intake manifold, and a big Holley up top, it makes some pretty serious horsepower figures. Rebuilt about 300 miles ago, it runs superbly and is only just broken in, so it's ready to prowl the streets next Friday. There's an aluminum pulley system up front, a pair of Hedman headers, a Griffin 4-core radiator, and a big 160 amp alternator, so you'll never really have to worry about standing on it in combat. The Super T10 4-speed powers a 12-bolt rear with 3.55 gears and Moser axles inside, so it won't even blink at the major torque churning through the driveline. A full Hotchkiss suspension makes this vintage A-body feel a lot more athletic than you'd expect and lowers it by 1.5 inches, so it looks wicked just sitting still. Massive 6-piston Wilwood discs live behind each of those 17-inch Budnik wheels, which are cleverly designed to look like vintage Rallys and carry low-profile performance rubber. This resto-mod Chevelle was built for crusing or combat. If you want to rule the streets and take home some awards at the local crusie nights, pick up the phone and do something about it. Bruce A. Elder Antique and Classic Automobiles 114 South New Street, Staunton, Virginia 24401 540-885-0500VADLR 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup Traditional Hot Rod By Larry Rathburn, Allegheny Speed Shop V.I.N.: A1272964 Mileage: 16,112 (Indicated, since build) About the Car: Overview: You have examined the pictures, now, please, take a couple of minutes to read the details of this amazing seven year long hot rod build. This car was built by the best and most talented people I know. I own a Larry Rathburn built car. I will never part with it. In fact he is building me a beautiful roadster right now. This is an important opportunity for a serious enthusiast. Chassis & Driveline: Custom surface plate, jig-built chassis by Allegheny Speed Shop. Re-contoured 1932 Ford frame rails, kicked at the rear. Custom dropped and vee'd front axle with caster adjustable custom chrome radius rods and rear mounted transverse spring. Buick finned aluminum drum brakes. A Frankland Championship quick-change rear axle (open), with 31 spline Ford axles is mounted on 1947 Ford radius arms modified for adjustments to pinion angle. Aldan coil-over shocks. Front and rear Panhard bars. Custom cowl mounted Volvo steering box with custom made chrome pitman arm, steering arm and drag link. The wheels and hubcaps are 1936 Ford 16s with 195/80 and 215/85 Radials front and rear. Yes, the lettering on the sidewalls was buffed off. The cooling system features a custom aluminum radiator with a unique symmetrical upper tank with inlet and outlets paired at the top. The mechanical fan pulls air through a handmade shroud. Finned alloy overflow tank. Exhaust is through a set of Chevy ram's horns and runs to the rear in beautifully crafted polished stainless pipes with a cutout right in front of each rear tire. Fuel and brake lines are stainless. So are the radiator and heater plumbing and the vacuum lines. Engine & Transmission: Chevrolet 283 C.I.D. V-8, 1.94 heads, triple Rochester 2 Bbl. carburetors on a rare Edelbrock C355 aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers, solid lifter cam. Chevrolet ignition with a Pertronix electronic conversion. Custom extra capacity oil pan. New GM T-5 Five-speed transmission. Body & Bed: 1929 Ford model A” roadster pickup cab, built over a tubular roll-cage cowl structure. This pickup cab has had extensive modification to allow for a low and comfortable seating position, this includes; lengthened doors, dual cowl vents, lowered floor pans and bellied rear panel. The chrome vee'd windshield was custom built for this truck and features a special rear view mirror mount and wind wings. Narrowed, peaked, and vee'd grille shell and custom 3-piece aluminum hood. The pickup bed is shortened and houses a 16 gallon stainless steel fuel tank, a hidden tool box and some decent luggage space. Interior & Top: Dark red genuine leather by Kings Upholstery in Roanoke, Virginia. Leather trim extends to a console, arm rests, banjo steering wheel and door map pockets. Under dash heater and heated seats. Fully operational windshield wipers. So Cal Speed Shop Auburn style instrument panel with Stewart Warner gauges and an electronic VDO speedometer. Adjustable steering column, Seat belts. The folding (or removable) top was constructed from polished stainless Ford deluxe roadster arms and custom ash bows. The fabric is German canvas and the unusual rear window is 1932 Plymouth. Paint & Chrome The paint finishes on this car were applied by Jeff Bennett owner of Wide Open Customs. Jeff is builder of many hot rods and recently was honored as the lead restorer on the historic early custom '39 Ford convertible by Slick Paterson at the Detroit Autorama. The pinstriping was performed by acclaimed automotive artist Tom Van Nortwick. The metal polishing and chrome plating was done by Jeff Hanlon of Hanlon Plating in Richmond, Virginia. Do yourself a favor and look these guys up on the internet... About the Builder: Larry Rathburn, owner of Allegheny Speed Shop in Catabwa, Virginia, has been building traditional hot rods for decades. Famous award winning builds include his 1929 Victoria Sport Phaeton, Bruce Elder's 999 Phaeton, and the restoration of the 1953 Lincoln Special NASCAR Speedway Division Champ Car. These cars and many others have been featured in Hot Rod, Street Rodder, Rod & Custom, Car Kulture Deluxe, Streetscene, and many more. Show & Go As beautiful and well crafted as many hot rods are, few drive as nicely as they look. This is not the case with a Rathburn built car. A few months after it's debut at the Detroit Autorama where it won it's class, this car had it's shakedown cruise from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to the L.A. Roadster Show. And back. 6,000 miles in all conditions. Out on the road, good lights, wipers, brakes are not decorative anymore. Sit in this roadster on a cold Colorado morning and enjoy the snug canvas top, seat heaters as well as the working heater while your buddy's shiver in their cars. Rain -X is great stuff on the highway, but when you are stuck in traffic it sure is nice to have a good set of wipers. Check out the cooling system on this car and you will see a well engineered and very unique approach. Proven in mountains and America's hottest desert. This reliable car gets 18-20 MPG even when driven in “a spirited manner”and has a really decent range with that 16 gallon tank. Please note that because this car has a quick change differential, like much of the suspension on this car, it can be tuned to suit your own driving style. Additional gears for the quick change will be included in the sale that will allow you to adjust the final drive for greater acceleration or top end performance and economy. You will further note that the speedometer is a programmable VDO unit, so that as quickly as you change the rear drive gears, so can you change your speedometer calibration. Further evidence of the forethought displayed in the building of this car. Study the photos and you will see why Larry Rathburn is considered by his peers to be one of the finest car builders in the country. Documentation: With this car comes a real Virginia title and loads of photos detailing the build. Terms: We invite your personal inspection of this car at our shop here in Staunton, Virginia. If you are the slightest bit timid about this please take your finger off the mouse now before you bid and drive us both crazy. This is not a hobby for the timid. This car is sold as is and without warranty of any kind. We cannot and will not consider any trades. We will not consider any offers below the buy it now price from anyone who does not inspect the vehicle in person or via their designated representative. Further, we have stated clearly what we want for the car. Please do not ask us for our best price, as that is the price you see on the page in front of you. It is one hell of a deal already. If you are the buyer, we expect a non-refundable deposit of 500.00 by Paypal within 24 hours. The balance, by wire transfer within 7 days (5 business days). You can buy with confidence as I am a Licensed Virginia Dealer.

THE ONE WE HAVE FOR SALE TODAY BLOWS THAT ONE AWAY. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d2PEwjeMu8 This is truly a rare opportunity. Seldom do you see a vehicle of this caliber and quality for sale, with absolutely no mystery or unanswered questions. All historical provenance is included to reveal the vehicle origins when it was sold new. Volumes of receipts and photos clearly showcase the hours of labor, plus all components and upgrades utilized in the rebuild and restoration. Remember that the Apollo is based on the same X platform as the Chevrolet Nova, one of the most iconic muscle cars and drag cars of the era. The Apollo is basically a Nova with different front and rear appointments, and nicer interior options. Factor in the rarity of this model, only 14,475 units manufactured, and unlike the Nova, most were victims of attrition. An absolute win-win situation. Selling at a fraction of the build cost. Open the door, buckle up, turn the key, and go. No issues, no stories, no warnings, it is all there, right in front of you. This super Street Machine is an attention getter, a head turner, and above all, a ground pounder that is a thrill to drive. Please read the ad, view all the photos, and click on the videos. When you have finished, you will know the complete history of this Apollo. The Buick Apollo was a short lived model, only offered in 1973 and 1974. The Apollo was Buick’s first ever compact car. The vehicle was a very close cousin to the extremely popular Chevrolet Nova, another member of the GM X body stable. The Oldsmobile Omega and Pontiac Ventura were the remaining two models in this GM stable. Base engine was a Chevrolet 250 Cu. In. six cylinder, but the Buick 350 Cu. In. V8 was also offered as an option. In 1974, Buick even offered a sport oriented GSX model. In 1975, the Apollo was replaced by an all new Skylark. Of the four X body models, the Apollo was the most well appointed. After all, next to Cadillac, Buick was the top of the line brand. Therefore, less of these were transformed into Street Machines and drag cars. It is truly a special find when one becomes available. Most of our finds have done extremely well for our customers in terms of investments and enjoyment. Here is an example of a rare 1 of LS6 Chevelle we sold for 50k in the early 2000’s. http://www.classicmusclecars.com/cgi-bin/swrm/det.cgi?id=131&bl=m-;;k-;;nhs-195;;status-Sold;;sb- It was recently on eBay for 129k and has apparently sold. We sold this car in 1999, we found it, researched it, documented it, restored it. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/1970-CHEVROLET-CHEVELLE-SS-396-CONVERTIBLE-178646 Another example, we brokered the only 1968 Camaro Z-28 Convertible in July 1993 for 165K, it sold in 2002 for over 7 figures. These are just a couple of examples of the thousands of cars we have sold, and many were super investments. We know the rare muscle car market like no one on the planet. This Buick Apollo is a rare Vintage Classic Car that fits into this category of an investment and enjoyment vehicle. Get in on the ground floor and have a big smile down the road. With an endless assortment of components, a deep pool of talent and many ways to fuse the two together, the possibilities are simply limitless. And the best part is: modern rods can be as driver-friendly as production cars while offering twice the style. The culmination of spotless original hardware, a team of first class builders and a virtually uncapped budget, this spectacular '37 Ford sedan is about a nice as hot rods come. With its all-steel body, LT1 V8, custom-fabricated undercarriage and outrageous custom aesthetics, it's a magazine featured award winner that's fully sorted and ready for years of enjoyment. Want to view the street rod scene from the best seat in the house? Then have a closer look at this world class Ford! Judging by the pictures included with this hot Ford's sale it already wore a smooth and solid body when Jim Germann, you know - the guy who also built our award winning '66 Chevelle, purchased it from a family of original owners. Nonetheless the car's now two owner body was sent to the experts at Wooding's Auto Body, you know - the guys who've sprayed many of our finest offerings, for a full restoration that resulted in laser-straight lines, a spectacular House of Kolor basecoat, and a glossy clearcoat shell. And today, this sedan is a banner showpiece that celebrates the fusion of some of Ford's greatest design work and some of the best modern mechanical components money can buy. One look down its profile reveals high quality workmanship that's top notch in every way. A close investigation of its body panels reveals even surfaces that are free of ripples and major imperfections. And from its nose to its fat fenders and humpback roofline the car's profile creates one cohesive classic that, despite significant customization, is both tasteful and easily recognized. The beauty of a well done street rod is often found in the simplicity of its execution. In a nod to the hobby's old school hot rodding roots, the best cars are usually topped with a stripped down, all business body that emphasizes their purpose-built, high performance nature. So, when you craft a world class custom like this killer '37 Ford, the best thing to do is let its original curves do the talking and simply enhance what's already there. Our enhancements begin with a Downs stainless grille which rides between two Bob Drake-supplied '39 Ford headlights and two Don's Hot Rods stainless bumpers. Behind that grille a solid steel hood, which now features filled side panels, meets a stainless-trimmed windshield that's devoid of traditional weatherstripping and cleared by relocated wipers. Behind that hood, tinted side and back glass reflects a nice pair of Barry White SRR mirrors and small, polished door handles. Below that glass, modified running boards flow toward lengthened rear fenders that are dotted with clear Ford Escort-supplied tail lights. And at the back of those running boards, an electronically lifted trunk motors above a second Don's Hot Rods stainless bumper and a manual flip-down license plate. Hit number "V" on this slick Ford's small gray key fob and its electronic clamshell hood tilts to reveal a fully detailed GM LT1 V8 that looks awesome and, with roughly 275 horsepower, offers solid, reliable motivation. Built to tear up the street and wow show goers alike, this fully-sorted package combines a sturdy iron block with lightweight aluminum heads, aftermarket fuel injectors and a computer from a fourth generation Trans Am to create razor-sharp throttle response and a torque band that's as wide as Texas. At the front of the body-matched mill a Street and Performance serpentine system, which is equipped with a full set of polished pulleys, spins a fresh alternator and a Vintage Air AC compressor at the sides of a billet air cleaner that's sealed around a small re-usable filter element. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a chrome throttle body into a factory LT1 intake which is bolted down over completely stock internals. High octane fossils are provided by a GM electronic fuel injection system. Sparks are sequenced through high performance plug wires. Spent gases are whisked away by a slick pair of ceramic coated Sanderson headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a polished Walker radiator that's complete with a chrome cap, chrome water tubes and a quick-spinning electric puller fan. On the visual end of the spectrum, silver injector covers and chrome "CHEVROLET" branded valve covers provide a nice contrast to the car's bright exterior paint while covering the less attractive part of GM's block design. The glossy engine compartment, which includes a custom fabricated firewall, has been completely painted, jammed and detailed to match that bright exterior paint. And niceties such as a "Fat Fender Ford" motif, a full assortment of polished hardware and a graceful chrome cowl cover add the kind of flash and detail that pushes the judges right over the edge! Toss this solid custom on a lift and you'll find a fully sorted undercarriage that, despite its road-ready mechanicals, is exceptionally clean and displays very few signs of wear. While its all-steel body was off, and being refinished, this Ford's factory bones were replaced by a custom-fabricated chassis that, with the help of a few floorpan modifications, enables stellar road manners and a much more precise street presence. At the front of that new chassis, a polished Heidts Superide suspension makes excellent use of narrowed stainless control arms, chrome Aldan coil overs, two inch drop spindles and a chrome Flaming River rack and pinion steering system. At the back of that new chassis a Heidts independent suspension, which is completely stainless, chromed and polished, is fitted with a four more Aldan coil overs. And the car's original four wheel drum brake system has been freshened to better-than-new condition with the help of four polished Wilwood calipers, drilled and slotted front rotors and solid rear rotors. At the center of the floors, a polished 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission makes good use of a polished aluminum driveshaft and a polished aluminum Ford nine inch rear end that's complete with a posi-traction differential and big 3.70 gears. At the sides of that awesome driveline, the aforementioned Sanderson headers dump spent gases into a fresh stainless exhaust system that's complete with sinister Borla mufflers. And at the corners of the car, beautiful Bonspeed Crocus wheels spin 225/40ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR radials in front of 275/30ZR20 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR radials. According to this Ford's current owner, everything on its highly hand-fabricated chassis is either chrome, stainless or polished aluminum. And naturally, new stainless lines, a full set of braided hoses, a stainless Rock Valley fuel tank and a whole array of finishing hardware was carefully installed during its painstaking re-assembly. Open the doors of this classic sedan and you'll find a tasteful custom interior which combines the car's spectacular House of Kolor paint with supple Lexus leather that feels nice enough to adorn the centerpiece of your living room. The firm and modern buckets, four all total, are supportive, feel soft enough to take a nap on, and feature custom "FFF" (Fat Fender Ford) center buttons. At the sides of those seats custom door panels hang sculpted leather armrests between four power windows and four "FFF" branded speakers. Between those seats two custom all-steel consoles prop controls for the car's Vintage Air climate system, a clean Lokar shifter, a small chrome gear indicator and a fifth, "V8" branded speaker above premium gray carpet. In front of those seats a custom dash, which is constructed of solid aluminum, cants frenched Haneline gauges toward the driver while pointing polished Phipps AC vents at both the passengers and said driver. And above those seats, a custom leather headliner is stretched tightly around body-matched accents, small orange courtesy lamps and a third Barry White SRR mirror. In front of the driver, a polished Budnik steering wheel spins on a polished Billet Industries tilt steering column. At the back of the cockpit, a custom upholstered trunk conceals two Optima batteries, a 500 watt JL Audio amplifier and an eight inch subwoofer behind a remote controlled Custom Autosound 10 disc CD changer and a small Sony DVD player. That DVD player is connected to a 17 inch trunk-mounted video screen, two trunk mounted speakers, two wireless Sony headsets and two additional Sony video monitors that are located in the backs of the front seats. And from its completely hidden fasteners to its completely detailed door jams, this car's cockpit has to be one of the finest interiors we've ever offered. Naturally, after Jim Germann finished building it and Wooding's Auto Body finished slicking it up, this pristine blue oval street rod hit the show circuit and scored many national awards. The car's long list of prestigious accolades includes:2007 NSRA Pro's Pick Top Five at the Street Rod Nationals South in Knoxville, Tennessee2006 NSRA Pro's Pick Top Five at the Richmond Nationals in Richmond, Virginia2006 Class Winner at the Detroit Autorama in Detroit, Michigan2006 Ridler Contender at the Detroit Autorama in Detroit, Michigan The sale of this awesome Ford includes an original owner's manual, a stack of restoration receipts and component manuals, and a copy of the car's six page spread in the June 2007 edition of Street Rod Builder magazine. Despite the availability of components, building a quality street rod that looks, runs and drives as it should is still a serious undertaking. The builders of this Ford showpiece didn't cut a single corner, and it shows from every angle. With all the right parts and tasteful look that will always draw a crowd, this slick little sedan would be a great addition to any garage. Don't miss the chance to park it in yours!
