Modena - U.S. Specification Bora 4900 Complete with Maserati Classiche Documentation & Original Delivery Forms In 1970, Maserati returned to the mid-engine concept it had considered earlier in the 1960s and in March of 1971, the all-new Bora debuted at Geneva. It featured a sporty but comfortable cabin with air conditioning and an innovative chassis. The Citroen-based, high-pressure hydraulics controlled the windows, pop-up headlights, adjustable seats and pedal box, as well as the ventilated disc brakes. With its 320-hp, 4,930-cc mid-engine V-8 and five-speed manual transmission, the Bora was capable of 0- to 60-mph times in 6.6 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 160-mph. According to the Maserati S.p.A. Classiche Depart of Modena, this menacing Maserati Bora 4.9 was completed to U.S. specifications in "Nero" (black) paint adorned over "Red" Connoly Leather interior with Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio and Series 1 parts supplied. The order for this car, chassis # AM.117.562 was placed by the Grossman Motor Car Corporation with delivery destination to Maserati Automobiles, INC. in Los Angeles, California. All verified by the Certificate of Origin, Delivery Note, End of Line Data Sheet, Final Tests Data Sheet and Technical & Aesthetic Characteristics. The extensive records of service history, chronicles the car as being owned by a Colorado collector as early as 1992. Between 2000-03 he commissioned a major engine-out servicing, performed at Apple Motors, a top Italian car service center. In 2005-06 the Bora was sold to a noted Palm Spring, CA Maserati collector John Boccardo who would enjoy the car in sunny California before entrusting it to Dino Motors of San Mateo, CA to perform a complete engine rebuild from 2007-08. The next major servicing came in 2011 when DGR Performance of Oceanside, CA rebuilt/replaced the suspension bushings, ball joints, hydraulic pump, and installed a completely new exhaust in muffler. It is important to note that since its last major engine rebuild this car has accumulated only 3,000 miles, with all documents included in the sale. With its sensuous coachwork, race bred dual-overhead cam engine, and stunning silky smooth performance. Following the footprint of the LeMans-blazing C-Type and D-Type race cars, the XKE is one of the world's most influential automotive designs. To cement that fact the XKE is one of the privelaged few to be on Permanent display at NewYork's Museum Of Modern Art. Jaguar in March 1966, released The XKE 2+2 Coupe, after much deliberation for greater interior room. This car is that, it has a 105 inch wheelbase, higher roof line, and what the British called ..."a pair of occasional seats...", in the rear. The .."family grand tourer", had arrived. With its sensuous coachwork, race bred dual-overhead cam engine, and stunning silky smooth performance. Following the footprint of the LeMans-blazing C-Type and D-Type race cars, the XKE is one of the world's most influential automotive designs. To cement that fact the XKE is one of the privelaged few to be on Permanent display at NewYork's Museum Of Modern Art. Jaguar in March 1966, released The XKE 2+2 Coupe, after much deliberation for greater interior room. This car is that, it has a 105 inch wheelbase, higher roof line, and what the British called ..."a pair of occasional seats...", in the rear. The .."family grand tourer", had arrived. This particular car is highly original. One Owner, Original U.S. Delivery Car, Purchased New in Ennis Montana and subsequently used as a weekend driver while the owner was at his ranch. About 5 1/2 years ago the car was stored on jacks and has found to be fairly clear of rust issues and salt and grime contamination.
